This was such a great novella, it gave me the Christmas vibes, an adorable meet-cute, more emotional depth than I was hoping I'll get and a ribbon scene, if you know, you know!
Amber is a single mother, trying to assemble a bike for her son on Christmas day, when a voice comes over the walkie-talkie, one that belongs to her neighbour Nick, one that makes her laugh and one that makes her feel things she hasn't in a long time.. The more they talk, the more their connection grows.. After she invites him over to help her with the bike, things might be heating up..
Nick was a sweetheart, caring and absolutely adorable. I loved how he understood Amber and how easy he made it for her to feel comfortable and open up to him. He gave her exactly what she wanted.
Amber was an amazing mother, she was protective over her son and she truly deserved the best. I love how she felt safe with Nick, about everything.
They were so good together, I loved the banter, the way they made each other laugh, how they had this instant connection, both physical and emotional. I loved their talks over the walkie-talkie, it was so fun and the spicy scene was really good.
While everything happened fast, it is a novella after all, nothing felt rushed. I do wish we got more scenes with them though, I really enjoyed them.
This was my introduction to this author and I'll definitely check out more books from her.
