The story is fast-paced, filled with several weapon details and many action sequences. For some readers, it is going to be an epic thriller read. Still, it can be a little dispiriting for someone like me who also needs a proper dialogue between the characters and wants a deeper understanding of the whole situation rather than reading about fights all the time. But, overall, the research done by the author is commendable. If you're looking for a page-turner action-adventure thriller, then this series is perfect for you.

Douglas Misquita's latest book, Trigger Point, is the third in the ‘Luc Fortesque’ series. It follows Luc as he's hunted by the world’s oldest espionage agency. The crazy sequence of events unfolds a hooking thriller that definitely transports a reader into the world of Luc. There is wild action and the author has made a fair attempt to serve it in generous amounts to the readers.

First, I haven't read the previous parts of the series and so, I was a tad bit confused with the world-building. But as I read ahead and things transitioned from simple adventure to intellectual high, I began getting a hang of the story. Yes, the build-up does take some time but it's done well. Second, the pace is crazy. If you end up missing a line, you're lost. So brace yourself tightly if you're on the ride to reading Trigger Point. It would demand your undivided attention. Third, I simply loved the writing style. It is wonderful for a thriller book that needs its rush and ferocity. I cannot emphasise enough how well-written the book is! I fell for some enlightening conversations on religions and the world. I truly did because the entire narrative goes on to show the meticulous research of the author. It is commendable.

With a lot happening in the book and due to an overwhelming number of characters, it was a bit tough for me to keep a track of things. Sometimes, it got too fast for me to process the events and make sense of it. Now, this can be a good or bad point, depending on the reader. For some, the plot might happen to appear complex because of frequent action-packed sequences. Moreover, brilliant writing with sophisticated vocabulary might pose a challenge for beginners. However, it would suit those who have a liking for fast-paced action thrillers.

If you're one of those who'd kill for a nail-biting thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat, read Trigger Point!

Things are about to get more… interesting for Luc Fortesque

Thriller has always been my most liked genre. I am very particular about reading a thriller novel. This book was a bit tough for me to get into as many things kept on happening at the same time without giving a proper introduction of the characters. However, once I got into the book for real, the essence of the thriller kept me hooked to the plot.

The fast-paced narration is definitely one of the perks of the book. The writing style and the catchy storyline are going to make you fall for this book.

Trigger Point: A Luc Fortesque adventure thriller by Douglas Misquita is a heart-pumping rush of adrenaline that will definitely leave you asking for more.

I have one word for this book, and that is - Wow. I am not a huge fan of Indian authors but author Douglas' book totally blew my mind. It was jam-packed with high octane action taking place in beautiful and exotic settings and well-built characters. And to top it all off, the writing was simply amazing! This is a well-written book, with strong characterisation, great pacing, high tension and brilliant concept. This book had so much going on that I simply couldn't put it down even for an hour!

If you're looking for a fast-paced and action-packed book with amazing locations or settings this you should definitely read this book! I'd highly recommend it to all readers.

This is a gripping thriller that has all elements to keep a reader engrossed into its pages. From snuggling rackets, religious terrorism, unlawful activities, thrift of a deadly bioweapon, to search for an invincible drug lord, this crime mystery fiction has the ability to pull you in a whirlpool of chaos overflowing with adventure and suspense and let you explore the lands which are lurked by danger from all around!

You know the feeling. Heart-racing, palms sweating, furiously flipping the pages to get to the conclusion.
It is action packed and is more descriptive at few places. But within that, the captivating narration has actually done its required job. Blended with ornamental and witty words, it paints each situation intricately in our mind. It feels like one has landed in the same backdrop or is watching a movie where slowly all the subplots like puzzle pieces merge together to make sense at last unveiling all the secrets. The characters are again thoughtfully developed wherein you can get a good idea about their psychology and their jobs. If you are into detective crime thrillers, pick this book up for an exciting read.

When I picked this book, my first thoughts were, How am I going to finish this huge book!

But I am so glad to have picked this up because reading ‘Trigger Point’ was one hell of an adventure! It is every action-adventure reader’s must read!

However, initially it was pretty hard to get into the book as it had many many details to remember, nevertheless it is worth reading it!
This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone too!

Trigger Point by Douglas Misquita Book Review by Njkinny

Read the complete Book Review and more on Njkinny's Blog:https://www.njkinnysblog.com/book-rev...

Trigger Point by Douglas Misquita is the first book by the author that I have read and it was like watching an action-packed movie where the hero takes dangerous risks and puts his life on the line to save the world! I am so glad I picked this book up to read.

In this book, Luc Fortesque is evading authorities, private contractors and secret societies from all over the world because he has something that they all want. Willing to go to any lengths and kill anyone who comes in the way, danger is dogging his every step and no one can be trusted. Amidst this danger, Luc is determined to stay one step ahead and do what is right!

It is one of those books where so much is happening with even a tiny detail important that you fear you cannot give out anything about the story lest you give away a spoiler. So, I won’t share much about the story. Just know that it is thrilling, exciting and totally worth reading!

This is the third book in “Luc Fortesque” series but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the previous books but enjoyed this book with no feeling of having missed something. However, it is always best to read books in a series in order. I plan to read the previous books in this series now and then revisit this book again later on.

The author has done extensive research while plotting this story and it shows in his fluency in showcasing the detailed picture of the action. Be it the Paris Catacombs or the Xinjiang autonomous region of China or the Mexican Cenotes, I learned so much about the famous World tourist destinations like these, the cultures of people from these countries, and their history through this book!

Another shining point of the book are the expert and realistic characterizations. Each and every character, be it a primary character or a supporting one, had me easily visualizing him or her in my mind. They are believable and characters that we see around us or on TV. Be it Luc Fortesque who, despite being the character after whom this series is named, appeared after so much had happened across countries or Garrett who became so important later on in the story, I loved meeting every character. My pulse raced in excitement every time the story jumped places and I eagerly turned pages to know more.

The story is fast paced and fluid. It will engage you right from the start and while it took time to form a clear picture, I loved reading about the seemingly unconnected events happening in different countries with varied characters. Each event looked like it was happening right in front of my eyes and held me engrossed.

This book is extensive in its world building and takes place literally all over the world. A treat for action adventure thriller lovers, I am in awe of the author’s expert planning and execution of such an intricate plot. This book can easily become a movie and I would so love to watch it on-screen!

The only suggestion I have for the author is that he include a character glossary at the start of the book so readers can consult it while reading the book. With so many characters and that, too, from different countries and cultures, it sometimes was difficult to keep track of them.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Trigger Point by Douglas Misquita and Njkinny recommends this high-intensity action adventure thriller to everyone. It is a winner and totally worth reading. If you love adventure thrillers by Dan Brown, James Patterson, and series like “Jason Bourne” and, “Jack Reacher”, then this book is for you. A perfect gift for action, adventure, and thriller lovers, I give Trigger Point 5 out of 5 super shiny stars and look forward to reading more from the author in the future.

Douglas Misquita is a talented author and one I am so glad to have discovered. Go read his books now!

It's a story of Luc who has some secret information and is hunted by the world's oldest agency. Will they find Luc? Alive or dead? What is the secret he is hiding?.

A fast-paced journey filled with adventures, twists and thrill. The plot of the story is mind-blowing that needs your undivided attention. I have not read the first two parts of the book, hence it was a bit difficult to connect to the story in the first few chapters, but later, It was an exciting roller coaster ride.

This book has so much to offer. Kudos to the author for writing such a spectacular book. The author takes us to different countries throughout the journey.

The crisp and gripping narration keeps the readers curious throughout this amazing journey. The descriptive narrations on many topics like religion, terrorism and many others make this journey more interesting.

An enthralling writing style and the smooth flow of words keeps the readers invested it. As the story proceeds, the layers unfolds, giving readers an action-packed story with many unexpected twists.

The way the events were sequenced by the author is commendable. At times it's a bit heavy read with too many characters and fast-pace.

Coming to the characters, there are strong well-developed characters that will astound you. Luc's character was one of my favourites. The strong, courageous character steals the show.

Not to forget the other characters, that gave this story a different perspective. They made this story more interesting.

I liked how each of them contributed to the story. It's a well detailed and well-researched book that you will love if you like reading adventurous thrillers. There are many aspects in the book that will surprise you.

Take your own time, and enjoy this adventurous journey of Luc. It felt like I was watching a movie.

A book with an amazing plot, strong characters and an interesting narrative.

Trigger Point by Douglas Misquita is a fast-paced action-packed thriller novel. This time, the novel features an almost larger-than-life character named Luc Fortesque. He is wanted by many for all sorts of reasons. Hailing from Mexico, this guy enters in Europe and then the saga of action, adventure, thrill, and crime kicks off. The novel is broadly about contemporary politics and wars going across the world. The author has painted the stories with subplots by taking into the multi-country backdrop, the story revolves across the world for various reasons. However, the most important is to find Luc, as believed or due to his past sins and adventures, he is the only man who could stop the wrong use of a deadly bioweapon called Apocalypse.

The novel is filled with action scenes, there are way more character that one could think of. But despite all, the action and fun never dips. The author also, very cleverly, shows how the world's major religions are clashing and causing havoc on innocent people. Israel's Mossad, Iraq's Jihadi, China's spy agencies, USA's CIA and many more from other countries are involved in planting untoward things for the sake of politics. I begin loving the story when I came to know about the motives behind the deadly bioweapon. There are all sorts of characters in the novel, from decent to peace lover to loneliness to nasty. Warmongers, weapon trade, religious conspiracies, political standoffs, and much more - whatever you could see or think in a Hollywood movie - all is present in this novel.

Much to my shock, the novel is lengthy, stretching over 400 pages, that was not needed. It could have been told in 300 pages. Anyway, those who love non-stop action, please pick up this novel, you will have gala-gala time.

7th Book of 2021

There are instances when I have got a book due to its wonderful synopsis but later due to the same, I have resisted in picking it up thinking that the book is meant to be read in an environment which shall bring more effect to it. I think this is just Reader’s thing and not everyone will relate to this feeling. Haha! The same happened with Douglas Misquita’s latest book named “Trigger Point”. The synopsis is so Hollywood-ish that I felt I would read it when I would be in a mindset where I would like to live a life of a Hollywood Hero. I don’t know why I got the similar vibes this week and I completed this book in 4 days by reading 100 pages daily. Yes, the book is written in around 400 pages and published by Pencil publication.

Douglas’s writing style is just crazy- simply crazy. I remember watching Special Ops – a web series last year on Hotstar – it had several different things going on in different parts of the world with multiple characters playing their respective parts in their region – but all tied to one man. I got the same vibes while reading “Trigger Point” as it has sub-plots based in so many countries and continents that you will feel you are on a travel trip right after 50-60 pages of the book. While you will keep waiting for the main character - Luc Fortesque - to be introduced, you will be made to meet many characters of different country and cultures, that you will just start enjoying their plot and get lost in it.

The characterization is very strong in the book because the way the main character is given a heroic charm makes you fight along with him with all the opponent characters. Similarly, the other characters in the book are managed very well. It is not easy to involve multiple characters in your book and giving equal justice to all of them. Author has really managed to make a strong built-up for each one of them – let them be belonging to any country or background. You get to understand their mindset, agenda and approach very well. Unfortunately, you also end up supporting many of the negative characters in the book the way they get on their rivals intellectually. Haha! Another USP of these characters are that they are not only written from the point of view of above three factors only, but their background has been played very nicely which tells us why they are doing what they are doing or why they think the way they are thinking.

Another good pointer I would like to focus is author’s research on the topics he mentioned. Earlier, I thought that may be author visited all these places hence he has such kind of accuracy in whatever he is speaking. But once I completed reading the story, I found a list of references author has gone through to help himself write about so many topics without facing it personally. There are so many countries mentioned in the book – some of them I am mentioning here such as Iraq, Israel, Mexico, Switzerland, Iran, Columbia, UK, US etc. – that you can expect only a traveling book to have information about. But author’s profound knowledge has made it very easy for the readers to imagine those places, the culture around there and the political, religious and governmental view of the location.

I liked how along with the story, author has managed to let us know about so many informative pieces which are true and matter of facts such as the operation of Swiss bank, Mayan culture and its beliefs, take on terrorism etc. Author has also not shied away from writing about religions and how it can be twisted – in fact all of them – in such a way that it can make anyone believe that it’s in favour of War. Also, author discusses how religious demographic twists the mindset of the people living in the particular region and can lead to devastation of the people living there. The way author goes into a descriptive way to let us know about how Muslims and Christians view their religions in respective region is such a bravo thing to do which author manages to do pleasingly. I hope no one finds any problem with it.

The pre-climax and climax of the book becomes little slow but yet keeps on getting exciting with each page. The last page makes you want to read more in this series. This is the 3rd book in the Luc Fortesque Adventure series – even though I haven’t read the previous two books – I didn’t feel that I missed anything. Though I believe that I could have got some help about knowing few characters mentioned in this book from the previous two books. Overall, this is a very fast and action-packed book. Anyone who likes watching Hollywood action thrillers and reading something on the same lines will love reading this book.

Now talking about the drawbacks – even though the book has very good vocabulary and editing, I don’t know why the editors didn’t justify the texts in the book as it looks so bad while reading. It becomes tough for reader to move from one sentence to another. Secondly, I feel that this book could have been edited well – currently the book is of 400 pages which I feel could have been easily managed in 300 pages itself. Author goes into describing action scenes in too much of details and description which is definitely not needed. It starts sounding like a movie script after some point of time and not like a book where some things need to left for reader’s imagination. You will start skipping sentences in between.

Thirdly, I felt that too many characters sometimes become a burden for the story to carry. I feel it is really hard for readers to remember all of them throughout the book and it also becomes irritating when you find characters getting introduced even in the latter part of the 2nd half of the book too. Author should manage an action-thriller story even with less characters from his next book onwards otherwise it might become a reason why people might not pick his books in future out of fear. The list of characters can be mentioned before the story starts so that readers can always refer to it while reading the book.

Overall, this is a good book which should be read in as less sitting as possible due to its complex plot and multiple characters. I give this book 4 stars out of 5.

Thanks.

Trigger Point written by the author Douglas Misquita is a Luc Fortesque adventure thriller. It is the third installment in the Luc Fortesque adventure thriller series. Story features Luc Fortesque who is under an Interpol Red Notice. He knows about the terrorist plot that has the power to put the world under huge threat and it can incriminates the Holy See also. Isn't it strange how knowledge of something could put you in danger and sometimes can also cost you your life. One of the oldest espionage agencies in the world were closing on him.

On the other hand, Raymond Garrett has taken a difficult job in his hand i.e. to bring down El Fantasma. But El Fantasma desired to unite the fragmented drug operations run by paramilitary groups. Grab a copy of this book and get to know whether Luc and Raymond get successful in achieving anything?

The story is full of action all the time with a fast pace. I couldn't put this book aside once I began to read it.

Even though it's a part of series but can be read as a standalone also.
If you are a fan of adventure thrillers then this one you couldn't miss at all. Language of the book is medium. Cover photo is nice. Writing style of author is professional and I enjoyed reading this.

Trigger point is an action-thriller. It is the third book in the series. The synopsis made me choose this great book. Actually it is a complete package of action, thriller, travelogue and so on. Initially it was little bit difficult to get into this book but once you are into the flow then it will make you stick it this throughout. The book is a well-researched one. The culture of the places like Iran, Israel, Iraq, US, Switzerland and so on. It is narrated such a way that the reader could get a feeling that he/she is there physically.

Narration is so vivid. Characterization is well done but there are many number of characters and it is different to track down them. The book is too lengthy of 400 pages. As this is my first action-packed thriller, it took me lot of time to finish this one. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Trigger Point by Douglas Misquita is a Luc Fortesque adventure thriller and it is also the third book in ‘Luc Fortesque’ series. This is the first book I have read by this author and let me assure you it definitely can be read as a standalone because I knew nothing about the previous ones but it didn’t affect my experience with this one.

Trigger Point is an action-packed thriller with too many things at stake all around the world but mysteries and twists hitting us. I was intrigued by the story the moment I started reading the book because I find it interesting to read stories of these characters from different times and parts of the world.

This book has a lot of characters and it was quite difficult to keep the count and to have a connection with them. And I am someone who loves to read stories with multiple characters even from different generations but I guess the combination of so many characters, countries, action, and mystery made it a lot to contemplate.

The world-building was good but I feel the characterization could have been better. I also liked the fact that the story was not just focused on Luc Fortesque but other characters too despite him being the main character.

The author didn’t waste any time and jumped right into the action from the very start with a picturesque description of every event. Though I would say the long sequences of actions were too frequent for my liking, if someone is into full-on action-packed movies/books, then they might enjoy it.

“The world is not a safe place for the man with the secret of Immortality and Apocalypse.”

SYNOPSIS

Smuggling himself into Europe despite an Interpol Red Notice? Possible.
Avenging a German BKA officer? Easy.
Evading special ops teams hunting him for the secrets he possesses? Impossible.

Things are about to get more… interesting for Luc Fortesque.

REVIEW

Interesting, right? This was a little tough to get into. Right at the beginning, the author introduces a bunch of characters, and a lot of things happen one after the other. But,once I settled into it,it turned out to be quite thrilling.
I love how,in the story, each character has their own thing going on,but it is all tied to the main character somehow. Sometimes it felt like I was reading the script for an upcoming Netflix original.
I always enjoy a good thriller, and this was up to my satisfaction,if not beyond.

I really enjoyed any time reading this book. This was a very fast paced, action packed book. Feels like an action movie. It was enjoyable but I have two issues with this book. It is hard to get into the book at first but after halfway through the story starts making sense. And second, there are way too many characters. But even amidst all this, the story goes on with a lot of adventure and action. Would recommend this book!

- A book that take you all over the world

INSIGHT- Trigger Point is an action packed adventure story of Luc Fortesque who is hiding and running from various law enforcement, secret societies and crime syndicates as he has in his possession something they all want. We follow Luc all over the world as he outsmarts those seeking him and defying death in the process.

REVIEW- Trigger Point is packed with action, thrill and crime, a concoction made for the silver screen and as readers you can't help but get out of breath while reading the book. This is a fast paced adventure novel with tons of characters, locations, sub plots and twists and takes you all over the world making it a visual experience

STRENGTHS – It is highly engrossing and very neatly tied up towards the end.
You will be more than satisfied with the culmination of this adventure, which usually is tough for crime / action writers to do. Despite being a part of a series and Luc being a returning character, one doesn't need to read the other books to enjoy this one.

WEAKNESS- Given the multiple locations and plots the book can get confusing. Missing even one tiny detail could make the reader feel lost. A guide / glossary would help in understanding the characters better. It is also a slightly long read.

TARGET AUDIENCE - Action Lovers / Adventure Junkies

AGE GROUP- 16 and above

GENRE – Crime Fiction

RATING – 4/5

It's my 2nd time reading an action packed book and I totally loved it!! It's the 3rd installment in luc fortesque series. Though it's a series but this book can be read as a standalone. Title itself is quite attractive ryt? and it tells everything. We shouldn't judge a book it's cover but this book is a big softie 😂 if you hold the book in your hand you will know it's value , so do check out the giveaway 😉. So now in terms of the content it's written fabulously. Though it's a big book (I haven't read any book which is more than 320 pages 😅) it was quite fast paced and engaging. I don't wanna give any story spoilers 🤭. Characters are well developed and plotline is interesting. Language used is simple and easily understandable. Writing is crisp and narration is great. Overall a great read and highly recommended to all!!

If you want to escape into film-like action ranging from Vatican executives in motorbike chases to doomsday bioweapons, inspired by historical events and modern science, Trigger Point is the way to go. This book is a follow-through on characters and events from its prequel Apocalypse Trigger. Topics that are reflected upon and inspire the writing of this book range from modern day Islamophobia, politcal involvement of The Vatican, drug trafficing and the power weilded by the covert and powerful. Would recommend this fast-paced, gory, and explosive novel to any thrill seeker looking to get their fix and have their imagination walk the line of fact and fiction.

Trigger Point is a gripping adventurous thriller book. The book takes us through smuggling rackets, terrorism, theft of a bioweapon, drugs and pretty much every crime you can think of. The story travels from Mexico to Europe and soon the journey of rush, thriller, suspense and action begins. It's like an action-packed travelogue.
____
Trigger Point is the third book in the Luc Fortesque series. Even though I didn't read the first two books in the series, I didn't felt lost even for a tiny fraction of time. It's hard for me to believe, no offence to anyone, that this mind blowing thriller is written by an Indian author. Talking about offence, I do think this book can offend some people because of the religions clashing and terrorism part but while reading this book one must remember that the book is 'fiction'. While reading this book I didn't felt distracted even for once. Whenever the book started to go off the track the author added a brand new element to the storyline to make sure the sailing through the book becomes smooth. He really did kept his readers on the edge of their seats biting their nails, in suspense.
____
To go a little deeper, I believe the characters could have been constructed with a little more perfection because they were a slightly raw. There was definitely some space for improvement. Come to think of the plot, it was in and out faultless. The plot was well researched and it also has this intriguing tone which made the entire experience incredible.
______
If you are reading my review, I strongly recommend you to start reading 'Trigger Point' Now, the book will take you through cultures of the places like Iran, Israel, Iraq, US, Switzerland and so on. The story will unfold over pages which aroused curiosity every now and then. I would like to call this book as a must read especially for people who like the thriller genre.

This is the third and for the time being the last book of the sequel, ‘Luc Fortesque.’

Smuggling himself into Europe despite an Interpol red notice? Possible. Avenging a German bka Officer? Easy. Evading special ops teams hunting him for his secrets? Impossible. Things are about to get more… interesting for Luc fortesque. An escaped terrorist threatens a landmark dialogue between Muslims and Christians. More terrifying is the theft of a bioweapon from a secret vault operated by the holy see. That the damaging news is not public hints the weapon will be detonated. With cataclysm imminent, the world’s oldest espionage agency – The vatican’s L’ entity – must get fortesque first, hoping he might possess the cure. Treachery and corruption infect the upper echelons of religion and government, and fortesque must confront his past to be free of it. If he survives the confrontation.

This book can be read as a standalone too. The detailing of every small place is beautiful. This was an intellectual read. This series is the best series, no matter how slow you are reading. This book isn’t recommended to the beginners, it will be hard for them to understand.

“The world is not a safe place for the man with the secret of Immortality and Apocalypse.”

If you are a sucker for a book with a fantastic setting, high tension buildup, and phenomenal dialogue delivery, Trigger Point by Doughlas Misquita is the book for you.

Without telling you much about the plot, I'd say that this thriller book blew my mind. It was jam-packed with mystery and thrill. The adrenaline rush I got while reading this book does not compare to anything else. The action sequences and the aura of suspense floating around this book made it an exceptional read for me. Furthermore, the characters were remarkably penned. They developed throughout the book.

It was hard for me to put down the book, even for a minute. I was so engrossed in the story. The author has successfully managed to create a world that is an adventurous amplification of our reality. Smugglers, Religious terrorism, gun action, and of course, a hurricane of chaos blended with witty dialogue delivery is what await you in this fast-paced thriller.

Trust me, friends, this is NOT a book you want to miss out on.

Trigger point by Douglas Misquita is a action packed thriller, where so many things are happening all over the world! This is the third book in the "Luc Fortescue" series, I haven't read the first two books, but it can be read as standalone too!

At first I had hard time with so many things happening and too many characters but it didn't kill the essence of the story. While reading I felt like I was watching action packed movie, and I loved reading it, so if you love to read action packed books then pick this up!
