A collection of stories by this multiple Hugo-Award winning author with illustrations by Lee Moyer. This book was nominated for the World Fantasy Award for best collection.
This collection is very good, but if you're considering this, you might as well just read The Best of Michael Swanwick, as I did last week (it has five of the six stories in this one). My favorites were probably "The Edge of the World" and "The Changeling's Tale," but the others are all fun. "The Wireless Folly" opens this volume (explicitly labeled as an introduction), and it was a great metaphorical history of the science fiction genre using an old house that keeps being added to in increasingly interesting ways (I noticed the Lovecraft and Ellison stand-ins upon a reread, thanks to Jordan's prompting in the comments).
