I have had this book for quite some time. I really loved Willard's Things Invisible to See and one of the reasons was her way with words. So I wanted to read some of her poetry. I was not disappointed. However, it has been at least ten years since I had read the whole book.

Since I read these poems I have discovered other poets and have attended the Dodge Poetry Festival. I still like Willard's poems, but I have found other poets and poems that speak more to me now. I would be curious to see what Willard is writing now and how it meshes with my life experience.

Willard won the Newbery Medal for A Visit to William Blake's Inn. If you like that book or any of her fiction, you should try this book of poems.

A surprisingly delicious book of poetry that I picked up more than a decade ago for a dollar. It still has some of my favorite poems, including "Foxes Fall to St. Francis."
