“It’s best if we just keep this casual, Dev.”

To feisty, relationship phobic Kate Martin’s utter surprise, she isn’t automatically dismissed as a crackpot when she finally plucks up courage to walk into a police station, revealing what she’s seen in her dreams. But instead of making a simple statement and returning to her nice, quiet life, she finds herself the center of attention from both a psychotic vampire and the ‘investigative specialist’ who would die in order to protect her.

“You’re anything but casual, Kate. I want you and I always get what I want.”

Young women are disappearing across the country and Devon, Regent Vampire Lord of the Midwest, knows his centuries old archenemy has finally resurfaced. A break in his fruitless search is provided by the discovery of a woman who can not only see the missing in her dreams, but who ends up being his Moira, his Destiny. And she couldn’t have stepped into his world at a more inopportune time, for she is now the prime target for his nemesis.

Protecting her heart would prove to be her biggest challenge.

Devon may be the sexiest, most sinfully erotic man she’s ever met, and he stirs passion in her like no one else before, but he’s an entanglement Kate does not want or need. While it becomes impossible to deny their mutual desire, once the case is solved and the missing women are found, Kate fully intends to return to her boring life, alone.

At least that’s what she thinks.

I’m just a regular ol’ Midwest girl who likes Game of Thrones and am obsessed with Modern Family and The Goldbergs. I run, I eat, I run, I eat. It’s a vicous cycle. I love carbs, but there’s love-hate relationship with my ass and thighs. Mostly hate. I like a good cocktail (oh hell…who am I kidding? I love any cocktail). I’m a huge creature of habit, but I’ll tell you I’m flexible. I read every single day and if I don’t get a chance…watch the hell out, I’m a raving bitch. My iPad and me: BFFs. I’m direct and I make no apologies for it. I swear too much. I love alternative music and in my next life I want to be a bad-ass female rocker. I hate, hate, hate spiders, telemarketers, liver, acne, winter and loose hairs that fall down my shirt (don’t ask, it’s a thing).

Not the book I'd hoped for.

Having just read and loved 'Black Swan Affair' I went looking for other books by this author and couldn't believe my luck when I found she'd written a vampire series.
Now maybe after 'Swan' my expectations were too high but this wasn't quite the book I expected, all the ingredients were there but somehow, for me anyway it just didn't really work.
I'm not sure what else to say I didn't really like or relate to any of the characters especially Kate I found her shallow and annoying and the fact that young girls are being held and tortured yet sex or a shower is more important to her and him as well for that matter.

"Now, I know you must be tired, love, but we need an emergency meeting with the other Lords. Right now. We need to act quickly on your new information.”
Kate looked down at the sports bra and tight running shorts that she was still wearing from yesterday.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to change and shower quickly. I’ll be ready in less than ten minutes.” ......
"Oh, I don’t mind at all, love. But I’ll be joining you. And we may be a tad longer than ten minutes.”

This isn't the only example of this and it annoyed me that there was no sense of urgency.
They both had stupid moments I think he actually had more than she did.

I love the cover like LOVE IT 😍 it’s beautiful art, and it’s why I was drawn to this book. I read this awhile while back and updating my review.

The characters are worth it, especially the main fmc Kate Martin and the hot vampire mmc Devon Fallinsworth. Devon is so many things and he’s been searching for his Moira unknown to Kate when they first meet. Their chemistry was sizzling and intense and oh so hot I couldn’t even put this book down at all. I love his quirky vampire ways, his mannerisms, oh and don't forget his hotness and his sexiness as well as his alpha-ish ways.

Kate has been having dreams since she was young, and still regrets also not understanding why she’s able to see the girls in her dream (and what has been done to them) and not only that but also a mysterious male too. The one that she still haven’t forgotten, and so with the latest missing girl when she dreams that she finally decides to tell someone, hence why she ended up at the police station and like they say, is where she meets the man she also has been having dreams about.

This book has it all vampires like a brotherhood, but in a more hot and sexy Lord over manor type. Lord Devon 😉

Honestly I couldn't wait to finish this book it’s so good that I had to sit back and savour each word, there are some minor editing problems but it doesn’t stray from the storyline itself. It's actually good, it's a strong storyline, and a page turner, you have to keeping up with the intense and the whys and how Kate is involved in all this, realising that she is more special than she appears to be.

I am looking forward to the next books, and if you love paranormal this is one of the good ones you don’t want to miss.

Boring as hell. I was in the mood for a vampire book and thought I'd get this off my TBR list and my ereader, but ugh. It's just so boring. Everything progresses at a snail's pace. Something about the writing is boring. It's dry. There are way too many descriptions. I do not care about what color the curtains are in every room. If I wanted to know about the curtains and color schemes of every room in every place the characters go, I'd watch HGTV. But I didn't, I wanted a vampire book, damn it.

I'm dnf-ing this boring excuse for a vampire book at 127 pages out of 300. I must've won some kind of award for getting even that far. Even the sexy times were boring. This is making decaf vamps look tough and mysterious.

3.5 stars!

I had some mixed feelings about this book, but overall I really enjoyed this it, this author, and more specifically the story between Kate & Dev.

This is a brand new author for me, but I didn't discover her through this series. I was looking at her book Forsaken Gray which looks to be a second chance story. I was reading some reviews and a reviewer mentioned loving her vampire series.... vampire series?! She has a vampire series...! Ohh.. yea, I'm going to choose that over second chance any day.

The story is about Kate, a dreamwalker who can relive another person's reality (or hell on Earth) in her dreams. More specifically she is reliving the life of Sarah who has been abducted. Kate realizes this is a real person once she sees Sarah's face on the news. Kate decides to go to the police and try to explain what she knows about Sarah's abduction. That is where she meets Dev.

Devon, or Dev (kinda hate that), is the Midwest Regent Lord Vampire. Basically he is the vampire ruler for the middle of the country. He is called into the police once the detective reluctantly realizes that something paranormal is going on and needs help. Once Dev sees Kate, he realizes she is his Moira, or mate. Dev also realizes that Kate is in extreme danger because she is a dreamwalker, because what she is actually dreaming of, and because she is his Moira.

My issues with this story:
*It was told in FOUR POVs. Kate, Dev, Thatcher (the detective), and Xavier (the bad guy). That's a lot. It made me lose interest and start skimming Thatcher and Xavier's POVs. I feel that Thatcher's POV was overkill. His story should have been incorporated a different way maybe?
*Xavier's POV was dark and disturbing. I know it could have been a lot worse. The author held some restraint in not detailing all of Xavier's evil. I'm not knocking stars off for this, it's just an issue I had with the story. It was almost too dark for me. I can't take the darker themed books.
*At times I felt that this story was drawn out; this could be because of the four POVs. Then the ending was a little rushed. I didn't feel like it was as proportional as it should have been.

Even with those issues, I still really enjoyed this book. I like the authors writing a lot, especially the way she interjects humor into the story. Dev and Kate's relationship was lovely and sweet but also hot and spicy. :)

I'm looking forward to reading more of her work including the rest of this series.

I was surprised at how good this book is!!! It's been a while since I found a new book that I enjoyed, (I've been re-reading stuff I already had) so I am not going to get critical about this, what was wrong with it, or what could be fixed about it.

I would say this was almost on an equal footing with the 'Vampires in America' series although the vamps, even the Lords of the three territories of the USA, didn't seem as powerful. Still, it had pretty good world-building and action/suspense. There is smex between the MCs (of course), but this isn't a story where that's the main component and a sloppy story is built around it. It's more romance, less erotica. Don't expect a kick-ass fMC, because that's not who this one is... no Cyn here. There are violent dreams (dreamwalking) about a rape, so beware of that if it's a problem to read that.

There's an HFN for the MCs of this book, but the story continues on with another one of the vamp Lords taking the main focus, trying to finally get the bad guy.

This came out last year and the series is mostly, if not totally written now, so no waiting... woot! I got this with Kindle Unlimited, available as of this date.

There are a few typos, but not an egregious amount (or I would have been really bitchy about it).

Surrendering is the first book in the ‘Regent Vampire Lords’ series and the type of book that I love – paranormal romance.
We meet Kate Martin, a sassy lady who in the beginning has been betrayed in the worst way and see that she is now the type of woman who has put relationships to one side to better herself. She is a psychology lecturer with dreams of taking her qualifications all of the way. What we quickly find out is that she has strange dreams, dreams of girls being held captive and tortured but also of one mysterious man who makes her desire him like no one else.
When she realises that the girls in her dreams are going missing, she feels it’s her duty to tell the police what she knows. Thinking they will assume she is crazy, you can imagine her surprise when not only is she believed but an investigation specialist is brought in to interview her further…… and he just so happens to be her dream man.
Kate is about to have her world turned upside down by Devon Fallinsworth, Regent Vampire Lord of the Midwest. He is centuries old, all alpha and he enjoys all aspects of life including women, sex & blood. In the vampire world he is a leader and used to commanding any situation and the people in it. When girls start to go missing in his area, he suspects his arch enemy is back and up to his old tricks and hopefully this time, they will catch him and end him. When they get a lead from a detective on the case he is ready to begin the hunt but what he isn’t ready for is finding Kate Martin, the woman made just for him, his Moira, his soul mate and after centuries – his chance at love & family.
Now because of Kate’s history, she’s really cautious about this man but Dev goes all alpha on her, demanding she have protection etc. and when it becomes obvious that she is in danger….. she decides to let him protect her, they have chemistry, they are drawn to each other and she’s decide to live a little and have some casual sex…..but will Dev settle for that? What will happen when they find the killer? Will she be able to go back to her life and forget all about him?

So, I loved this book! It was very reminiscent of early Black Dagger brotherhood books (you know, when they were good) and that is such a good thing in my eyes. Vampires are a well-loved genre by me and I have been looking for some good ones for a while so this one is very much welcome. The story is one we’ve all read before – Vampire meets his soul mate – but I never get tired of those, I love Vampires, love romance, love soul mates and I love a good story so it’s a win all around.
Kate is a great character, she’s just a nice person living her life and somebody that could be a friend to anyone. What makes her interesting is the dreams she has, dreams that have plagued her since childhood and what brings her to the attention of Devon. When they meet we get to see another side to her, the no nonsense, take no crap, stubborn woman who will not be told what to do and it made me like her even more. I liked that she blindsided Devon, he wasn’t prepared to meet his soul mate on that day and was really affected by it, I thought their first meeting was funny, his thoughts and reactions to her seemed believable (in that world) and I imagine anyone would behave like that because it was the equivalent of being hit by a truck full of love/lust and sprinkled with caveman….. and I do love me some caveman ;) I thought they both challenged each other; Kate tried to be realistic about the situation whereas Devon just wanted her. I was glad they didn’t just jump in the sack and call it love, Dev attempted to take his time and woo her; soft moments here, little kisses there that built and built in heat so that there was no doubt we were all ready for the sexy times. It wasn’t all one sided either because Kate was just as lustful but what developed was natural, loving and something you could become invested in.
The storyline was told from multiple povs so we are always aware of what is going on – even in the enemy camp – and I do appreciate a well rounded story. I liked the premise for this about the young women going missing, murders and how it tied in to Devon’s past and also Kate past and present. The enemy seems very sinister and twisted, someone that you can believe is capable of such brutality so you know without a doubt what would happen if he got his hands on Kate, especially with her being Dev’s Moira. The secondary characters are also important here and are involved a lot in the story which makes me feel like their stories will unfold also. It’s hard to review the storyline because it would spoil a lot of it and it’s part of the experience of the book so I’m just going to leave you with this… it’s a great book with great characters and awesome series potential. It is filled with danger, centuries old enemies with a grudge, a lot of secrets on both sides of the fence and a nice big dose of romance that brings out the caveman in our H, the sassiness in our h but also the love & sexy times…… I definitely recommend this for any paranormal romance & vampire lovers, I know I am one and I loved it!

*** I was given this book in exchange for an HONEST review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal) ***

Do you love paranormal romance?
Do you like strong female characters with lots of personality?
Do you love alpha males who forget it’s the 21st century from time to time?
Do you like good dialogue and witty banter?
Do you rejoice in good supporting characters that make the story more dynamic and interesting?
Then this is the book for you!

Before I discuss how much I enjoyed reading this book, I have to give praise to the cover! Most adult romance books have very intimate or awkward covers. Now I agree with the saying, “never judge a book by it’s cover,” but in this case DO judge THIS book by it’s cover for it is sensually exquisite!

This book reminded me of Rebecca Zanetti’s series, Dark Protectors, but with a new vampire romance twist. I’m a huge R.Z. fan, so I am absolutely through the roof with excitement that I’ve found another author to include on my “insta-buy” list.

K.L. Kreig’s vampires are very unique for they are born not made. However, even if an individual has vampire DNA in their genes, the vampirism has to be activated by drinking blood several times throughout childhood. I for one thoroughly enjoyed this new take on vampires for many reasons, which I cannot share because it would be giving away too much.

However, I can say that this book not only had a sweet love story playing in its forefront, but hot-steamy romance scenes as well. Kate and Devon (or Dev) are a fated pair. She is his Moira or Destiny. While they were instantly attracted/drawn to one another, the love and trust within their relationship developed and blossomed as the story progressed. The villain in this story is extremely cruel and sadistic. Even though I detest his existence, his character kept the story exciting and dramatic. Lots of romance books are purely romance with little to no action other than the drama between the two lovebirds. In the regent vampire series, there is definitely more brewing between romance scenes which K.L. Kreig graciously shares. This is because she breaks up various chapters and scenes by titling which characters perspective the situation will be described in (I lOVE books like this). Overall, an amazing read! Can’t wait to own them all!!!

First time read from author K.L. Kreig. The story was OK but overall was a little to "college frat boy" themed for me. It just struck me as them being a group of young vampires (in a club) running around, with the way they talked, their thinking, to the way they conducted themselves. They are suppose to be (at least the lords) old vampires, the main character Devon is suppose to be 550 years old i believe. I really for the life of me couldn't get the "young" feeling to leave as i read the story.

I really think the story had a nice concept (reminded me of D.B reynolds Vampires in America with a dose of Tina Folsom's Vampires) but it just did not sink me in. I felt sorry for Giselle (or however you spell her name) she was the only female vampire in this cluster. Seemed to me everyone was calling her bitch. For a female to be a part of Devon's "warriors/group" you would think there would be just a tad bit more respect (maybe some "Mature" men needed to be around). Even the love interest that the Author seemed to me to be leaning towards for her is a big Dick. He was all calling her a bitch and treating her like one too. Come to think of it I believe non of the guys had respect for each others position. When a "Lord Vampire" is there, he really should get the respect that position states. Like i said it was like frat brothers.

Another thing the bad guy was really bad. He raped, beat, and killed a 15 year old girl. The Main female character witnessed this in her dream walking. Was short but not fade to black.

A new take on a story as old as time.
I’ve read a lot of vampire stories and after a while they tend to blend into one. There’s really only so many times one can retell this story. However, Ms Kreig has done a wonderful job reinventing this tale with a lot of sass. I love that the main character, Kate, has psychic abilities and a bit of grit about her, she doesn’t just roll over and wait to be bitten. Devon, of course, is the gorgeous alpha vampire and he delivers. Throw in some steamy sex scenes and this is one very delicious, self-indulgent book which I thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in. I will be looking forward to reading book two. Five stars from me.

I'm hooked on the Regent Vampire Lords. I've been in a major book funk the past week, and this fabulous story brought me out of it. I was searching diligently for a hero that wreaks MINE! without any OW bull crap to deal with, and this book delivered in a big way. I like paranormal vampire/shifter reads with the theme of finding one's destined mate, and I've read a fair amount of them, but this one stands out as being much different.

There is an added element of suspense and mystery, although you know up front who the evil ones are. Ms. Kreig creates an atypical vampire culture and does an excellent job of imparting the details of the vampires' lives while having them unravel how the bad guys are operating so covertly. The overall plot with the evil vampires is left unresolved and will continue in the second part of the series. This book, however, does read as a stand alone regarding the two main characters, and each book hereafter will focus on different couples--which I will be reading about soon.

Overall, this is an EXCELLENT first book by K.L. Kreig, and I recommend it to those who enjoy a very protective alpha male focused on getting his woman. The romance is great, the characters are interesting, and the paranormal story is intriguing. Well done, Ms. Kreig!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal).

From the very first page of this book I was hooked. The beginning definitely catches your attention and, luckily for us readers, the rest of the book manages to keep it!

I fell in love with the heroine of this book very early on. Her strength and morals drew me to her and I felt as if she were someone that I would like in real life. That doesn’t always happen for me. I can honestly say that I really liked the hero, as well. Yes, he was gruff and domineering, but since he was a leader for his people (and apparently a good, fair one) those were acceptable traits.

I really liked that there wasn’t really any insta-love in this story. There was insta-lust but, come on, that happens in most romance style books (and often in real life). I appreciated that the author let characters true, real feelings develop over time.

This was honestly one of my favorite books so far this year. I look forward to reading the next one in this series!

Actual Rating: 3.5

Surrendering, the first book in the Regent Vampire Saga is one with action, a disturbed deranged character and lots of sex.

The writing is good, characters okay and the plot fine. But while reading this I found that it had some similarities to that of Fated (Dark Protectors) by Rebecca Zanetti. Wait, it had a lot of similarities.

Similarities you'll have to find out yourself.

It was fairly good and interesting.

Has the potential for an excellent story line and I did enjoy it. However it seemed like when the story would get going gratuitous sex was thrown in. Don't get me wrong I love erotic romance stories but it seemed like sex was thrown in as filler. I rather would have had more of the story. With that being said I will read the second book because she did hook me with her story line.

This is a new to me author that I discovered at a FB release party. I read the blurb, it sounded good, so I gave it a shot. I'm so happy I did. I have a hard time finding PNR books that I really like so when I discover one, I eat it up like candy. And it's a series, so I have more books to enjoy. Diving into Belonging next.

I'm slightly torn on the rating for this. There were several things that caused me to spend a considerable amount of time rolling my eyes at this book. Let me count the ways -

There were a lot of times in a lot of different situations that I found myself thinking that I was uncomfortably aware of the difference in ages between the author and myself. Sometimes I wondered if it was just an age difference, if it was just my own peeves about tropes in the genre, or if it was lack of research. I mean, why would a woman in her 20s who is working on her PhD in Psychology, with a lifetime problem with dreams, never have heard of lucid dreaming? No, they didn't call it lucid dreaming in the book but the "techniques" that the protag was reluctant to try were lucid dreaming. Is it really feasible that a 550 year old man would obsess like Twilight's Bella over a woman, even if he's genetically programmed to "mate" with her? When she hit her head and lost consciousness and you said her eyes were "fully dialated and fixed" did you mean to suggest she was in a coma? If so, do you really think it was reasonable for her to wake up in a short time and then want to eat? I'm thinking a head injury that significant is probably going to cause a bit of nausea for a while, too, not to mention the headache. I could go on with these sorts of examples.

There was a bit too much sex for me, although I readily admit that I tend to lean to romances that have so much "non-relationship" plot going on that it's a 50/50 mix between romance or urban fantasy. This is a romance. I may not have found the amount of sex to be over the top if the mutual, mind-talk obsessing hadn't been even more frequent. It's entirely possible that the mind talk that sounded like middle school love put me off in general.

The author may have hired an editor but the piece is in pretty significant need of a copy editor. It's not things that make you think the writer doesn't know how to diagram a sentence. No. It's more like typos and inner struggles about sentence structure that didn't get finalized. It is enough to cause a mental stumbling block when reading the book. There were enough of them that another run through the eyes of a fresh copy editor is warranted.

And yet I give it 3 stars. Why is that? Well, it's not a bad first effort for a young indie author. The lore and the story line is not exactly original, in fact it reminds me a great deal of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series in terms of story line. Even so, there is enough originality in the way she's built the world, developed the characters, and put together the long arc to be engaging. I mean, I rolled my eyes a lot, but I read it pretty much straight through, too, so something spoke to me. Be advised, the non-relationship subject matter is pretty dark. If you've got sex abuse triggers you might want to avoid it.

If I got a wish it would be that the characters are a bit more adult-like in the way they deal with conflict and in the relationship aspects of the story.

I'll probably read the next one, too. I find I care about the primary and secondary characters and would like to see where it goes. I'm also hoping that the author spends a bit more time on the copy edits. ;)

Thank you to Progressive Edits and author K.L. Kreig for providing me with a copy of this in exchange for an honest review!

Find this review and more on my blog The Rest Is Still Unwritten!

Surrendering is K.L. Kreig’s debut novel and is the first in her Regent Vampire Lords series. Darkly romantic, simmering and surprising, Surrendering is perfect for fans of J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood and the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian!

As someone who highly enjoys a good paranormal romance every now and then, I very much enjoyed Surrendering. Though vampires are something I’ve read numerous times, the world and characters K.L. Kreig has introduced us to are ones I look forward to exploring some more.

Surrendering introduces readers to Devon Fallinsworth, the Regent Vampire and Lord of the Midwest and a man on a mission when it becomes clear that a vampire from his past is behind a string of kidnappings of young women. Furthermore, Dev’s world is forever changed when Kate Martin comes forward, claiming to have information regarding the disappearances. Kate has had dreams for as long as she can remember, but when it becomes impossible to deny her visions have a habit of coming true, the determined dark haired beauty goes to the police, never expecting to find herself in the middle of vampire politics and discovering that she herself is Dev’s long awaited mate.

K.L. Kreig introduces readers to a promising world of vampires in Surrendering. Told through the eyes of Dev and Kate predominately, as well as detective Mike Thatcher and villain Xavier, Surrendering already has me interested in learning about the other characters. I’m already very invested in Mike and Giselle’s potential story and look forward to unwrapping more plotlines in future instalments.

I personally liked both Kate and Dev and thought they went together wonderfully. I liked them as individuals and appreciated what they brought out in each other. There is a bit of instant attraction between them, something enhanced by the knowledge that Kate is Dev’s Moira, his destined mate, but I did like that K. L. Kreig made an effort to force Kate and Dev to get to know each other too.

Other than Dev and Kate, I’m really interested in the other characters as well and that's not even considering the other Regents, Damian and Romaric. I’d love to learn more about Ren, Manny, Giselle and of course Mike, the vampire disliking human detective who is caught up in their world, despite his hate of their kind.

A great start to a promising new paranormal series, I’m looking forward to continuing on with K.L. Kreig’s novels and seeing what she has in store for her characters next!

I read this book the other day and really enjoyed K.L. Kreig characthers and world building, and the story kept me hooked too. If you love your vamps sexy come meet Dev!

Dev is a Regent, basically his in charge of a region, in this vampire world vamps are born and cant be created by a bite, they can eat normal food too along with human blood, they also want to be loved even if they dont admit to it!

Kate is plagued by bad dreams and soon she realises there about missing people, what can she do, people will think she's mad.... when she speaks to a detective shes shocked when he beleives her and doesnt lock her up, he calls in some specialist 'detectives', enter Dev.

There's a strong current running between them from the moment they meet, I thought Kate was great trying to keep her distance but when your fated its not worth the fight! All they do is cause pain to themselves by abstaining and made me despereate for them to get it on!

A love story needs a bad guy, we get to meet Xavier and his horrible, disgisting, yes a truely bad guy, he no redeeming qualities other than being the bad guy.

The story was told well and lots goes on, its a learning curve for Dev and Kate but they develop deep feelings for each other, and they cant get enough of each other.

There is also fab selection of other characthers, they're a real mixture and I look forward to reading more of them in future books.

By taking a chance and doing the right thing, Kate Martin’s life is turned upside down, not only is she not dismissed as a crackpot, she becomes the target of a rogue vampire, and she comes face to face with the man of her erotic dreams in this spectacular vampire romance. I was completely enthralled with the story from the very beginning, I really wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to read this one as I was kind of reminded of another series that I love, but there was no reason to worry this author’s world while have a couple of similar traits is completely different for the most part. Which is good news for me as I have found more sexy vampires to obsess over so I can’t wait to read the next one.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LOP)

I have to say i really enjoyed the first book of this series! I find it kinda gave me a little bit of the same feel that i got from reading the blackdagger brotherhood series by j.r ward which i loved, so it was nice! Although i found i really liked each of the players in this book, i wish i could of seen a little more interraction from the other characters. I love paranormal vampire romance stories and this one definitly made the good list!
The storyline is super interresting and like any good series, makes you want to dive into the second book, which i'll be starting right about now... ;) Enjoy!

What a great book! I was given an ebook by the author, but trust me, this is honest.

I am teetering between 4 and 4.5 stars, mainly because of one small (important) part where I felt more grovelling was necessary. Like, a lot more. But let's move on...

Surrendering was super cool. There were points of view galore which added to the depth of the story line immensely. I was concerned that it would make the book hard to follow, but Ms. Kreig had such a firm grasp of the changes and the characters that you are not only able to follow, you are unable to put the dang book down.

If you are a fan of vamps, or even if you aren't sure if you are a fan of vamps, grab this book!!

This book was given to be by the author to read and review from the LoP group.

Of course, I will not give away any spoilers, as always.
First of all, the I really like the cover, it's beautifully done.
I thought it was a great book, I can tell which authors influenced this author.
The characters had personally and were likable, some parts I found rather rushed (which I am sure was an editors decision lol) however, it really didn't sop be from liking it.
I'm looking forward to reading the second installment (which I will start tonight) and hope it'll be just as good.

I enjoyed it, though some parts made me uncomfortable. When the villain is evil, he is truly evil.

4.5 stars!

I really liked this first book in this series, but initially it felt like some details were missing, however I liked how K.L. Kreig filled them in as the story went on, in particular the reason for animosity between the hero and villain.

It was really easy to like Kate and Devon. The two were something! Between the dreams and then them meeting in real life, I think I was more eager for them to come together than they were! And as someone who is not a huge fan of instant-attraction and insta-lust, I got it because fated mates and all that.

The story was fast paced and written well. It doesn't end wrapped all neatly for the series, but it does end well for Kate and Devon, and the world building and hierarchy of vampires is established. Plus the small taste of the next book has me excited and eager to read more!

Awesome!!

Honestly, I never read a single book from this author but I got to say I’m impressed. I wanted to read a paranormal book with a possessive, alpha male and this book serious had everything I wanted to read. So when I went to check out more books from this author on my Goodreads account, it turns out she has been in my currently file for a minute. It was a sign. A sign I need to read more from this author.

He smelled like spices, mint and sex god. 5 FANGS! I mean Stars!

Sweet Mother of all Things Holy & Unholy!!! What a terrifically unique story!!! I have read a lot of books in the past few months, let alone my lifetime, but I would place this one right at the top of my All Time Favorite Vampire book list. In fact, it IS the top of ALL of my Favorite lists! Forget everything you think you know about Vampires and shame on you if you think that this is “just another Vampire book”. KL has taken your “typical” Vampire and tossed it out on its broken fangs! These awesome new Vampires, while the don’t sparkle (Thank Goodness!), have so many awesome and new aspects & traits to them that....OOOPS! Almost shared some spoilers there! Half the fun is discovering it all for yourself. I thoroughly enjoyed the main story line, as well as the many “little” off-shoots as well. I loved all of the twists & turns! I had a hard time guessing what was going to happen next and that is something that I cherish in my books. I loved the different kinds of paranormals present. It all added to and increased the richness of the story. If I were to sum up what I thought & felt about this book I would say: This book is one hell of a beautifully unique magical hot romantic roller coaster of a ride that I DID NOT WANT TO EVER STOP!!! I would also add that I am truly, madly, deeply and obsessively in book love with K.L. and this awesome Regent Vampire Lords Series of hers! Dare I say that I have a book heart on for her? lol It takes one heck of a passionate and talented author to be able to create such a fangtastic new Vampire world that has me so entranced! I LOVE Vampires and have read a LOT of books with Vampires in them, but I have NEVER read one such as this! This is definitely a book worth reading over and over and I guarantee that I will notice new things each time! That is a great thing, trust me! It means that there are a lot of layers to the story with many parts, pieces & aspects to discover or even re-discover. I LOVE that!!! Now when I do re-read it, I can focus on other things because I do know how it “ends” so I am not madly reading through it to see how this plays out, or how that ends, why this, why not that, etc. As for re-reading it – that will be every time there is a new book coming out in the series and quite possibly even in between as well! My guilty secret is that I re-read the series before the next book is released, as a re-fresher and also because it is worth reading over & over! All in all, Surrendering is a very worthy book to read and I can’t wait for the next book! Terrific depth to not only the story line(s), but to the characters as well. Love the creativity with the Vampires. It makes them very unique and real. I am ABSOLUTELY COMPELLED!!! Oh wait! Dammit! If I am compelled by Dev than that means he is not my mate!! Onward I shall go to find my own Vampire Mate!! Hopefully K.L. has him tucked away just waiting for me to come & get him! I’m on my way now!

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Oh baby!! When I get find a new paranormal series, I am excited. When I find a new Vampire boyfriend I like, I go bananas…ask the author!! When I find a new paranormal series, I devour the books as fast as I can read them!! This series hits all 3 criteria!!

I found this author when I was reading her other series and thought “One day when I get a moment I will love to read these…” Well fast forward to summer break and BINGO I can’t get off my sofa because these vampires have my FULL attention!!

Kate is a regular girl who I having strange dreams about a missing girl. She decides she is going to go to the police station and share her dreams knowing they will call her a nut job and send her on her way. To her utter shock, they didn’t dismiss her and have her wait for more agents to arrive. When the new agents roll in….goood gravy…it’s the man from her GOOD dreams…you know the dreams I am talking about *wink wink* He is here and in loving color! WHAT!!

Devon is over 500 years old and is tired. He is wishing his Moira/mate would appear so he can have a full life. He is stunned stupid when he walks in to the police station and finds her!!! He will do everything in his power to make this very stubborn human his in EVERY WAY but shocking to him is that he wants her to also WANT to be his…When did he become a softie??

Dev and Kate “court” while he is trying to keep her safe. When he can’t protect her in her home, he snatches her and takes her to his mansion that is guarded and the safest place for her. Ya see being his mate is big stuff but the fact he is THE Vampire…THE Head vampire of the 3 regions makes her even more of a risk pluuuus the bag guys want her for her dreamwalking skills…….crazy plots peps!

The book was amazing…the secrets that were unfolded and the twists that happened were not anything I saw coming. The bad guy was REALLY REALLY BAD too which make a story amazing to read!!! But seriously, if PNR is your thing, you will be super stoked to read these books. The world building is solid but I never felt overwhelmed with the information that we needed to learn about the vampires. I am finishing this review and starting book two…Damien….YUMMMM….he definitely has gotten MY ATTENTION!!!!
