Ok this is basically a recap of the previous books……sure there were a few “not seen”past scenes from Jesse & Cage but nothing really new. Toward the end we get an introduction to Nicole which is the next book I’m jumping into.

Although this book was about past and present I like how it’s POVs are by Jesse and Cage. I love how you get to read about their feelings about how they came to be with Lucy and Sera. A great and fun loving read filled again with more laughter and sexy times.

“You were my schoolgirl crush - a fantasy. Now here you are standing in front of me, ready to get naked with me. On top of that you’re this mega rockstar who has had so many women that you probably lost count years ago. You’re a rockstar who probably knows more about pleasuring, a woman than-the women themselves.”

Interlude acts as a filler before Ballads, Ben's book. Just as the Blurb states: Past to present...

The book literally takes us to the past of Cage, Jesse and the rest of the Falling Down members. And the difference between Cage's past and Jesse's past is that of sky and land.
Where Jesse's past is filled with one night stands, groupie whores and countless faceless women on a daily basis, Cage's past on the other hand is dark, gritty filled with murder and revenge.

There were a few surprises in the book, for example,

We also have a little more insight into the Russo- Manzini feud through Cage's P.O.V.

The present is about the Blush Baby and let me tell you, everything is not as it seems. Especially with her.
We get a one complete flashback of when Ian, Lucy's ex, And the shit is going to get real with Ian in the next book!

Though, there was one scene I would have loved to have in the book and that was when FD gets to know that Lucy and Sera are the granddaughters to the head of the biggest mafia family. Now that reaction would be something I would absolutely love to see. *Anne I'm hinting at something*

The book certainly lives up to its title. It definitely is the Interlude before the next book comes out.

Love this series but can we say redundant

Waited months past due date for 4 and then 80 percent at least is just going over old scenes from 1st three. Then, if that isn't frustrating enough the book ends at 77 percent. I am still waiting to find out what the deal was in xanders Christmas???? We could have received lots more on a variety of topics but the author just gives us the first three books in summary plus about ten extra pages because she's way behind on her deadline. Not a very nice way to treat paying customers.....especially if she wants to keep them as fans. I'm starting to lose interest and I truly love this group of characters.

Another incredible book in the Rockstar Series!!! I devoured this book...I couldn't get enough! I was completely bummed when it ended, and kept scrolling to find more story. But that just means Book 5 in this fantastic series will be even better....if that's even possible! Anne....you are an outstanding and remarkable author!!!

Interlude is an excellent mixture of past and present. It mainly follows Jesse and Cage's past, and fills in a large amount of details that were missing from the first three books. What events lead these men to where they are now? What were their thoughts and feelings about Lucy and Sera? These questions, and many more, are finally answered.

Not only do you read the POVs from Jesse and Cage in the past, but also from Lucy and the new "Blush Baby", Nicole, in the present. They are about to go on tour again, but this time it's different. We can't forget about the Kingston Litter! I'm really anxious to see how Lucy's pregnancy progresses, and how members of both bands start finding their own HEA!

Interlude progresses very well and leads into Ben's book perfectly! Will Ben finally find his true love? Or is he just another rockstar in a sea of multiple women? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.... :)

Disappointed:(

I'm not sure of the purpose for this book in the series. Some of the past scenes help us get to know more of where Cage came from and the rest are mostly replays of the first book, Falling down"... just from mostly Jesse's POV. I didn't feel any of it was really necessary.

The previous books were written so well that the story line provided enough history of the male characters and Jesse's POV from some of those moments were most certainly redundant. His love was very evident in the past books so his love, attraction and connection with Lucy was already apparent.

This turned out to be just a filler that wasn't needed in this series. The story didn't pick up until 70% in and then just dropped off when Nicole was introduced for Ben's story. I would have preferred to skip all of this and go straight to Ben's book; which comes out in August.

I absolutely love this series and adore each and every one of these characters. I' m really looking forward to the next installment but I was really disappointed in this book. The "past" portions of this could be used as novellas instead of one book.

Even though this is mostly re-capping on what we've had already but from different perspectives it is still interesting and it does also move us on in the second half. I enjoyed finding out how Cage became a part of Giovanni's team and getting a little more of that background. There is no standing still with any of these books, there is always something going on or a complication or threat. It keeps you hooked and just wanting to keep reading to find out what's going to happen next. The sexual content is hot and steamy but fully in context of the story and these hot blooded characters. I am reading this as part of the second box-set, but I like to also add the review to the individual books as I read them. Loving this series, it is well written and interesting, it crosses over into mafia and has some suspense in places as well as some angst so it should interest a wider audience than just those who like rock stars.

5 Stars!

I absolutely adore this author. I am a HUGE fan of rock star romances. This author is absolutely amazing and can write this genre flawlessly. When I first read Falling Down, I was completely blown out of the water and have been hooked on this series ever since then.

This book rocked its ass off. Taking us back in time, this book explores the life of Falling Down, Lucy, Cage, and Sera as we learn how they met and fell in love. This book took us from past and then to the present picking up where book three in this series left off.

This is the next chapter for Blush and Falling Down. Sexy, sweet, fun, and quite steamy, this book gives us new and old scenes from different point of views. We get to se Jesse and how he fell for our sweet Lucy. We also get to explore the past with Cage and Sera.

Another revelation in this book is the female Blush baby. That's right... you get to meet her and let me tell you, she is amazing. She is full of sass and spunk fitting right in. We also get a slight preview about what the next book holds for us!

I am on pins and needles for the Ben's book in this series!

I highly recommend this book!

The story has laughs, pain, anger, suspense, violence, loss, betrayal, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well I was kept interested in the story. I read it in one sitting.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books first.
Falling Down (Rockstar series #1)
Blush (Rockstar, #2)
Amplify (Rockstar #3)

This is a story of the past and the present of the band and the woman. You get a more detailed history on the band, Cage, Lucy and Sera. It goes over the meeting of Cage and Sera and the dark and sometimes brutal history of Cage. It also goes into more detail about Lucy and Jesse’s meeting and re-meeting at the making of the bands video. You also get more info on Lucy’s ex and what happened with him. It’s great to see more of the love growing between Jesse & Lucy and also Cage and Sera. You see what lengths they both went to in order to see each other again and protect the girls.

I loved these characters and also the side characters. felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

5 stars. I love this series. Great writing and great author!

In this book we get Cage and Jesses POV! It was refreshing to see how these two felt when they meet Sera and Lucy. These characters are so well developed and so well written, there’s no way you can’t or won’t fall in love with them. The story flowed so well and it was a lot of fun to read. This series overall is beyond amazing and I loved every book just as much as the one before. Well done again Anne!!

Nice gap filler.

I love the characters in this series and while we wait for the next book this was a good catch up, first with Xanders Christmas special now this,I don't mind that the author has done this, the characters are great and its the kind of series you don't want to end.

Going back to the beginning was good getting a reminder but from the male characters pov through each book, Cage & Jessie other behind the scenes events what you didn't get in the other books.

It was a great to read about these characters again and get an even fuller picture than before.

Looking forward to the rest of the series Anne, rock on!

Not much of a new book. More like Jesse's POV from when he met Lucy and a little info on Cage. It skipped around a lot and left me confused at times. The Present part of the book isn't very long and the book ends at 78%.

I will give the next book a try and see what happens but I'm really close on giving up on this series. Love you Anne, just not the last 2 Rockstar books.

I loved reading about their past from Jesse and Cage's POV. There was one instance when I was upset at Jesse and wanted to smack him..I'm sure you'll figure out the spot I mean once you read it. Can't wait to see what is going to happen with Ballad and the Blush Baby campaign!!!

Interlude is book four in the ‘’rockstar’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable instalment to the series. I have read this book in the past but never seemed to post a review. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Interlude is told in Jesse and Cage’s point of view and goes over the past and what they felt when they met the women they love. I cannot say too much without laying out the whole story. it is basically Jesse and Cage’s life’s before meeting Lucy and Sera and their lives with them.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

I could hear the stories of Jessie and Lucy and Cage and Sera over and over again…it is that good. In this book we get Jesse and Cage’s POV with all the hotness that was delivered in the first installments of the Rock Star series. We are also introduced to Nicole, the new Blush Baby, who just hopped aboard the tour bus and has gotten one of the rock stars attention. Oh, this is going to be good, I just know it!! Off to read Ballad.

In this book you get to see more from Cage and Jesses standpoint. How hard they fell for their girls and how they have a soft spot for them. Also we see a little more of the whole Ian crap show. Can’t wait for him to get what he deserves! Can’t wait to see how having Nicole in board will change things up in the next book

Interlude is book #4 in the Rockstar series, I was gifted an ARC of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

The third book in this series Amplify was brilliant but I genuinely wasn’t sure what to expect of this book.

Having now read it I’m really not sure how I feel about it either.

This is mainly flashbacks from Cage and Jesse’s POV’s about the times before they met Sera and Lucy and some once they were in relationships.

The chapters from Cages POV were great; they were new material that gave an insight to Cages feelings towards Sera. I loved the way he watched her, that sounds creepy but it’s not at all. Cage adored Sera from the first moment he saw her as a child and it just made me fall for him even more!!! Cage keeps his feels wrapped up pretty tight so to see her through his eyes was a lovely addition to their love story.

Now Jesse’s chapters, I’m sorry to say but apart from the first one or two of his chapters where we see him post meeting Lucy in Chicago but pre reuniting at the video shoot the rest are just a rehash of the first book.

Jesse’s chapters didn’t add anything new to the story, in fact I’m disappointed to say that they felt like the original dialogue just with the he said, she said swapped over.

I would have loved to get more from Jesse’s POV, this was an opportunity to really show his deeper connection and feelings but instead I was just a little bored.

When it flipped to present day it did add some new stuff like the introduction of the ‘Blush Baby’ character Nicole. She seems like a brat with a massive chip on her shoulder; I’m assuming they are lining her up for Ben but who knows.

This series has some continuity issues, like if Cage has been lurking in the background of Sera and Lucy’s life and was introduced to them at a party held buy their granddad (one of Cages chapters in this book). Why did the girls say they met him for the first time on a video shoot?

In Cage and Sera’s book it says that after Sera found Carina in Cage’s house she didn’t speak to him for a month. Yet in this book its only 16 days later that he is taking her home to console her on the anniversary of her parents deaths?

In Falling Down, Blush, and Interlude Carina is described as Cage’s fuck buddy (in this book he even calls her that) but in Amplify Cage says that they only had sex on one occasion and she forced herself on him against his will when he was drunk.

Also as the mother of twins I can say with experience that if Lucy is pregnant enough with triplets that she can feel them move there is no way that she would be able to lie on her stomach!!!

I know these things may seem trivial but they annoy the hell out of me.

If this book had all been like Cage’s chapters really adding new material to the series this book could have been great. But as it is I was just a little disappointed.

Interlude gets 3 generous stars from me.

I have received an ARC from the Author in exchange for an honest review.

This part of the series is literally taking us to the past told from the POV of Cage, Jesse and.... dum dum dum... XANDER!!! And because of that short glimpse of Xan's POV I love Anne even more *muah*.

The past of the 2 main characters: Cage and Jesse are so totally different. Cage is taking care of Sera, since he first met her and he knows from the beginning she is IT for him. He tries to protect her, but also not push things to fast for her. he wants her to grow up, live and realise what they are for each other. Soul mates.

Where Cage, was Sera oriented from the beginning, Jesse from time to time was losing his way to find Lucy. After meeting her at the Airport it seemed like he forgot about her, until Xander told him that he will walk away from the band if they will not stop behaving like drug/alcohol a addicts. Until one advert, where he had seen Lucy and all the feelings that he had towards her, came back. With vengeance. He made his priority to meet with her and make her his.

It was amazing to see the past through their eyes. It gave you even bigger insight in their personality and made you love them even more.

The next part of the book is told from Lucy's POV and Blush Baby. Let me tell the Blush Baby will be one helluva of a person in the series. I can't wait for Ben's story and to get to know her more.

Amazing story. 4.5 stars only because I didn't have enough of Xander and not enough present.

Well done Anne, another amazing book <3

Interlude delves into the past mainly of Cage and Jesse. You get to see from their points of view, events that have happened before Falling Down and Blush met and were formed. It starts right back at the beginning when Serafina and Lucy were only children. Right from the first page i was in shock about how long and how deep some feelings run. Anne sure knows how to tug on the old heart strings and yet again reminded me why Cage is a dark horse and how much he keeps hidden, only for his Fee.
You also get a glimpse of Serafinas and Lucys grandparents and i love Carlotta Russo!
Its not a complete re-write of the first books from the mens POV, just what could be described as key events. Then the past and present meet and you get to meet the blush baby and WOW do sparks fly, but with who???? I can see the next few books getting really explosive with the BFD deal tour continuing, blush babies, the arrival of the kingston litter, the Manzini's, Dr sexy voice (lucys got some 'splaining to do) and of course Xan my Man

Anne Mercier did not disappoint yet again with the continuation of this series!

This book leaves you wanting more and more and .....more!
I suppose hanging out with these characters now for 4 books might also be a big part of my Rocker Love. You really do need to read the series because I guarantee it will take you out of your own reality and put you into one filled with serious badassness <--- my new word! The best part is that, not only are you left craving more but the author doesn't disappoint with the plot and with a serious waiting time for our next Rocker fix.

What makes this book as great as it is, the characters we know and love in the books prior still maintain a big role in the storyline. You're technically getting your cake and eating too in Interlude and that rarely happens.

I'm going to stick with the short version of my review because I could go on and on about this book but I don't want to chance any spoilers because I highly recommend reading this book and the books prior. They take the awesome in the Rocker genre to a whole new level!

Well Done Ms. Mercier!

Anne has done it again!!! This book had me running into so emotions it was insane! Reading things from Jesse's past as well as Cage's past gave me more insight and more understanding to the characters. I'm partial to Jesse and reading this, even tho Jesse was a Rockstar jerk for a while he cleaned up his act but seeing this... seeing how Jesse was before Lucy well it just made him that much better! then we have Cage, oh dear lord do we have cage. Cage is amazing, and seeing inside of his mind was just what I needed to cross the line of saying Cage is hot to Holy hot cage!!!! this book is a must read. I can't wait for the next book I'm already tapping my fingers dying to read more Rockstars! anne is pure genius and anything she Writes I will read!

Another fabulous book in the Rockstar Series. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I liked how this book went from past to present. We got to know much more backstory of Jesse and Cage in their pov. Seeing how they both were so enamored with Lucy and Sera was endearing. I absolutely love love love Cage. Knowing he cared and protected Sera for so long was hot. They steamed up the pages and make such a great couple. Seeing how Jesse found that connection with Lucy since their chance meeting at the airport made me love him and all the other band members so much more. They are a great group of guys that have each other's back. This is definitely a must read, as well as all the other books in the series. I highly recommend them.

Goodreads is asking me .. What I thought.. Well, I think Anne Mercier is amazing! I have never before stalked Amazon like I did for this book. After a short delay in putting Intrude out it didn't disappoint at all. Getting to know 'past' Jesse and Cage was freaking fantastic. I love knowing what was going on in their heads. I love she ended it the way she did even though I went scrolling looking for a hidden chapter in the back. (Hey, it was wishful thinking.) I will never have enough of Falling Down and Blush. Bring on September! I can't wait to see what Anne has in store for The Blush Baby Nicole and Ben. Plus *happy dance* we're getting closer to Kennedy's book!! (Fan girl moment right there!!!)

Interlude is a great story of first loves and fate bringing people together, with a helping hand (cage). I love the insight into the times Jesse & Lucy met over the years and then finally how they came to be! As always with Anne's books, things between the two were HOT and massively explosive. Jesse is....well, Jesse, I mean no one can say they don't like him! He's amazing, he's definitely in my top rockers list! I also love Cage and his love and adoration for Sera!

Everything is written so well and I can't wait to see what happens with the Blush Baby and Read Ben's story!

What can I say, another amazing book by Anne. I loved the catch up especially with it being in Jesse and Cage's point of view. I won't deny I would of loved to have read more of the present but I got enough to keep me wanting more and wondering about the Nicole the blush baby. The thing I love about Anne's writing is how she perceives things and the way she writes about them. Once you start reading you can't put the book down because you need to know how it's going to end. I'm really looking forward to the next one ☺️
