It pains me to say this was not a favourite of mine from Melissa.

I normally enjoy her work but I just didn’t enjoy the the MMCs becoming her stalkers bc they noticed she had a separate stalker. They hadn’t even had a conversation with the FMC before deciding “this one’s mine”

I think I would have liked a bit more character development with the MMCs and FMC before the instalove started. It felt like ‘if you’re obsessed I’ll be obsessed too but I haven’t even met her yet’. The FMC was oblivious to so much she didn’t even realize she was being ‘protected’ or had multiple stalkers.

I wanted to like this more, but I just didn’t 🤷‍♀️

This one was not for me. The alpha that was a “health nut” was controlling what she was eating and while I get the idea of it the way it was written was limiting foods and concerning. Characters and storyline were very surface level

I love a strong heroine, but I'm always a little disappointed when they get a bit brattish. A character can be written as an omega without her acting like a stubborn toddler. Which may be a little harsh, bit I'm fresh off of reading this and that's my first thought.

Eh. Good enough to pass the time but very simple and surface level character work. There are some consent issues for sure that were couched behind "alpha" behavior but I wasn't thinking that deeply about this story for it to truly bother me. Bear was a great alpha although all alphas named Bear are.

One alpha was a "health nut". He was constantly monitoring her food and pushing veggies. It was supposed to be caring but it read as weird and controlling to me. Let the damn woman eat some f-ing chocolate and cookies.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. I really liked the suspense aspect and not knowing who her stalker was.

I do agree with some of the other reviews about how Spencer was a bit controlling, especially the food aspect. I understood his compulsion to make sure she eats healthy foods, but that was such a big part of the story that didn’t seem like it needed to be. I wish we would have seen just a tad bit more of Chase because he seemed like a funny guy, but he kinda faded into the background when Bear seemed to be her favorite and Spencer was the “asshole” with the limiting of her snacks.

⤷I Loveeeeeeeeee this new book! Melissa’s books are always a hit for me! It had the perfect balance of sweet coziness, tension, drama, love and delicious spice! It was a little darker than her previous work, but it was overwhelmingly a sweet omegaverse bodyguard romance.

⤷I adored all the characters so much, but I’ll confess that I definitely have a soft spot for Bear! I did quite enjoy the teasing natured relationship between all MMCs, It was quite funny to read. Flora & Spencer’s clashing relationship was entertaining, and I was definitely siding with Flora (don’t limit my sweets/snacks). Bear and Flora being each other's comfort person and absolutely adorable together was so sweet to read. Also, I really appreciated the friendship that Flora made with Mable, so she wasn’t totally isolated with the MMCs all the time.

⤷ If you haven’t read any of her books, you gotta add her Pucking Pregnant, Bonding the Babes, and/or Fire House Omegas series to your TBR! You can definitely read this one as a standalone, despite there being characters from Sincerely, Packed Puck. I still need to check that one out soon. I definitely want to see how Pack Garnett came together after seeing them in Safe and Sound.

Not only is this my favourite cover from Melissa Huxley's books, this is now my favourite read by her as well.

I admit, I knew very little about this book going in. I practically went in blind because I hadn't seen any posts and I don't believe the blurb had been uploaded until the same day (maybe the day before) arcs went out, but I did really enjoy it nonetheless.

I was (not disappointedly) surprised that this is not a pregnancy trope standalone. If that's not your taste and what had held you back from most of this author's books then give this one a go.

I really enjoyed this story, I loved the glimpse we got with Mable (and the hint to the next book's female main character, Summer) and her guys. I always love seeing the 'after' from main characters in cameos later on.

"In that case, you'd better get used to me. My name is Spencer. You'll be seeing a lot more of me."

Insert the cast: Chase, Spencer and Bear - three characters we first met during Sincerely, Pack Pucked. They each bring an instant obsession, over the top vibes and (good natured) stalking.

"I was going to murder Spencer Whatever-His-Last-Name-Was."

Spencer is the over the top protective pack leader who is a bit clueless sometimes (that is until he's wacked with a taser to teach him a lesson or two). I loved his and Flora's back and forth banter, their chemistry was there from their first encounter and she gave as good as she got with him.

"Maybe we just let her get a damn snack? She's been putting up with your crazy antics. If she wants a burger, she can have a goddamn burger."

Not only did Bear balance the other two (especially Spencer), but he's the character you instantly want to protect at all costs. He's the gentle giant with a rough exterior who is a giant teddy bear. The moment Flora ran up to him for safety, he was a goner and immediately contemplating designing her her very own taser covered in little strawberries lol.

"You drive me F-cking mad, but that's because I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you. I am obsessed with you."

Chase is the pretty boy tech wiz. He definitely brought reason to the other two, though I kind of felt like we knew the least about him. Out of the three MMCs he kind of got the least amount of focus on himself.

There was mention of another pack who works security and are friends with the guys but nothing came of that, so I'll be interested to see if they make an appearance either in the next book with Summer, or somewhere down the line.

Couldn’t Finish It.

The only reason I didn’t give a lower rating is because this could be a matter of preference and just because I didn’t like the genre doesn’t mean it’s a bad book.
To keep it short for those who don’t want to read my long rant, I just don’t like books where it seems the only attraction that pulled the characters together is because of hormones, pheromones, and “I can’t resist him because he smells good” which lets the male leads act like twats and get away with it. Lack of depth and emotional connection.
Now, more in depth “Why” I didn’t like this book, is the first fifteen chapters. It started off okay, but,

(SPOILER)

My main issue starts early on. Spencer installs cameras in Flora’s apartment without her knowledge, driven purely by possessiveness and attraction. Even when a stalker’s camera is discovered, the narrative never really acknowledges that their behavior isn’t much better.
It only escalates from there—Chase knowingly sleeps with Flora while she’s being recorded and even jokes about it, and later the group watches her in private moments without her consent. At that point, the line between them and the stalker feels uncomfortably thin, yet the story excuses it.
What, because they smell good and she gets the heats and fuzzys by being around them?
I understand that her stalker does some actual horrendous stuff later on, which separates him from her alphas, but there should have been no need for a separation.
And then desperate to find a reason to finish this book, I tried searching for any point where they apologized for invading her privacy, breaking into her apartment, getting rid of her comfort food, and essentially stalking her without her know and sleeping with her while knowing she has no clue she’s being filmed. And found nothing. They apologized for none of it
So, I’m sorry if this is someone’s cup of tea. It’s not mine because ultimately, this book leans heavily on physical attraction over emotional connection, ignores consent, (no dub con, just very invasive) and allows its male leads to act like antagonists without consequences. It could have been compelling and super sweet if their relationship had been built on trust, respect, and genuine care for Flora’s agency.

I have always been a big fan of Huxley’s omegaverses. I will read just about any omegaverse I can get my hands on, and I always enjoy one that gives me something a little different than the typical omegaverse fluff. I always appreciate a bit of suspense and angst and that’s what we get with Safe and Sound. Of course there is nothing too angsty in this book, but we do get a stalker storyline and a pack of guys that serve as bodyguards. Is it really wrong if you are kind of stalkers because the object of your obsession is being stalked by someone else? Okay maybe it isn’t the best idea and yeah stalking of any kind and for any reason is not good. But I never felt that the “stalking” by the MMCs was out of control or over the top. I felt like this story was just different enough that it wasn’t as if I was reading a story that I have read 100 times before. It gave soft sweet omega and three guys who are taking care of her the best way they know how. Which might involve a little bit of stalking.

The MMCs in this book could easily be infuriating (well, at least Spencer). Overprotective can be grating but it was easy to see that it came from a good place. I think the part that would irritate everyone is when Spencer replaced Flora’s junk food with healthy food. He had good intentions but no, thank you. Bear was definitely my favorite of the MMCs. I love me a gentle giant. And then there is Chase. I think without him, the pack of guys would fall apart. Every pack needs a Chase to bring balance to the group. Finally, there is Flora. As a math nerd, of course I dig a fellow math nerd. She is so smart and I love the way that she interacts with Bear.

Like many of Huxley’s omegaverses, this one touches a previous world, with this pack being introduced in the previous book. But it is book one in a new series. While I really would love to lash out against the overprotective alphas, I do appreciate that they just want to keep their omega safe. Of course, there is plenty of spice, like most good omegaverses and you can feel the connection between the main characters. If you like Huxley’s previous books, I feel like this one will be up your alley as well.

What should have been a pleasure read was unfortunately anything but.

This is not a review about the story, because frankly I wasn't able to focus on that enough to comment much beyond it being rudimentary at best. No, this review is specifically about distractingly poor writing and one of my least favorite author archetypes: The Over-Explainer

One can only postulate as to why these types feel the need to explain, then re-explain, and then explain more for good measure. Do they not trust their readers? Or perhaps they lack confidence in their own writing? Or could their skill simply be so underdeveloped that they still suffer under the misconception that more is more?

No matter the motivation behind doing so, reading this type of work always feels much like listening to someone try to describe their way out of a lie. Those twitchy word vomiters who convince themselves if they just keep talking, you'll believe them.

Detail upon detail heaped on to the point that one begins to question their own sanity. Me, the reader, should not start pondering why the fuck I'm being force-fed the same fact for the fourth time in just as many pages. Trying to remain immersed in the story was impossible.

The unnecessary repetition of detail was exacerbated by these awkwardly compound sentence structures. Clauses that seemed to pitifully cling to the end like some younger sibling forced to tag along. They made everything feel that much more unfinished and first draft-esque - loose threads that any good editor would have clipped before release. Or maybe an editor took one look at this and realized that anything beyond proofreading would require a full gutting and months of re-writes.

But I digress.

Last but not least, I think the clearest display of the skill level of the writer was that this story is almost entirely told to us, along with a surfeit of mental narrative being used as a means to artlessly dump exposition.

This books ranks up there (down there?) with worst books I've read this year. But hey, we're only in March.

Safe and sound had me hooked from the beginning. The whole stalker thing had me. I was going crazy not knowing who was following flora, seeing as she’s a great student and keeps to herself. Part way through I had a hunch on who it was and turns out I was right. There are three different alpha personalities. Spencer with the macho man thing. Protective, health nut, gotta have things his way. Chase the charmer and flirt, but also has a very obsessive and protective side of him when it comes to his pack/family. Bear the big guy who most people are afraid of but is actually sweet especially when it comes to Flora. He’s just a big ol softy when it comes to her. Spencer is protective of flora right off the bat. He does everything to protect her even when it’s crazy and stalkerish, which I kind of find hot; don’t know if that makes me crazy, but oh well. Love when Alphas are protective over their omega and will do everything and anything to make sure they are safe. Bear is my favorite out of the alphas. He made sure she was safe right away. He’s insecure of his facial scars. Most people stare at him an are horrified by his looks which make me sad. Just because some has scars or anything doesn’t make them hideous and not deserving of love. Bear deserves all the love. Flora knew that right from the beginning. She didn’t see a hideous monster, she saw a wonderful and amazingly handsome alpha. I don’t know how many times I awwed at him and his sappiness. Flora is just a sassy thing when it comes to Spencer and I’m here for it. I also love how she goes toe to toe with him and challenges him. She sure does give him a run for his money. I’m am so ready to read book 2 and read all about Summers journey and maybe hopefully see a little more of Flora and her pack.

“I’m stalking the stalker who’s stalking the stalkee”

This was a cute fairly low angst Omegaverse book.

The Alphas are at the school on assignment to protect the pack of a hockey player. However, one day one of the guys realized the tiny Omega in the class they just left seemed to have her own stalker and for some reason her safety was becoming an obsession.

Talk about not even realizing you are claiming an Omega. It was cute watching Spencer obsess about Flora and drag his pack into the obsession.

Oh sweet Bear. Him being so utterly shocked that this little omega would run up to him and assume that he was going to be her safe space when he was so used to people assuming the opposite. I absolutely adore that she was most drawn to the one man who assumed he had lost any chance of an Omega because of some silly scars. I loved every time she surprised him with something he had given up on. Their relationship was just so wholesale.

We can't forget about Chase. He is their tech wizard but honestly he kind of got lost in the story and I feel like we never learned much about him.

I loved the banter in this book. It made me laugh out loud. Spencer going in a changing out her junk food for healthy foods cracked me up. Imagine opening the fridge you knew and suddenly this healthy fridge was in its place. Talk about the weirdest change a "stalker" would ever make.

I always love seeing characters from previous books popping up. We get glimpses into how they are now and its always nice to catch up with them. I also believe Summer will be our next FMC based on what we saw in thus book.

Flora and her men

For an omegaverse series, it hits all the regular notes, though I have some things I would have liked to see and some personal complaints.

Spoilers!

What happened to the TA? I find it weird her men didn’t get rid of him more permanently or something. Realistically, I don’t think he’d get very long in jail for what he did. Also, how did he evade them for so long? That stuff wasn’t explained super well. He spent years stalking her and she noticed just as Spencer noticed? That was oddly convenient.

One of my biggest gripes with these kinds of books is the injuring of characters and the lack of continuity. She gets injured by her stalker and complains of the bruise, yet the men never see it. That could have been such a great scene with the men getting all growly and angry! Then, she gets her injury on the ankle and nearly choked to death and then three days later she’s getting it on? The nurse says “eh, could have been worse?” Bih, she almost DIED???

I was also a little disappointed in the wrap up about Flora’s family. Bear seemed like the most fleshed out man and he deserves justice. I needed to see Flora’s mom getting the smack down from Flora again for being cruel.

The most unbelievable part of the story was Flora having her tutoring friend. It seems this character exists for no reason. And finding out your friend is so bad off she is dropping out of school and selling herself to a marriage and your response is “eh, phones exist, I wanna bang my mate!” Yeah, that pmo like no other. Thank goodness that happened in the end. Truthfully, the last 10% of the book was a bit of a letdown after all the great character building.

Better quality than others in the series

This book is more consistent than others in the series. The world hasn't had any sudden, unexplained social rules change from the last book. There is one detailed description that defies the laws of physics but it's a description of a past experience so not really vital enough to be obnoxious or detract from the broader story.

We start with Flora who is a particularly good FMC for this author. She's intelligent, independent and has sass & humor in abundance. She's also spectacularly consistent throughout the book. No sudden personality change or life plan derailment that we're supposed to believe she is happier with than her own plan. Just a consistent path to a degree, slightly introverted but with an underlying hope for future love.
Then we layer in guys we already kinda like from Mable's book, and they STAY CONSISTENT. It's like a miracle lightning strike kept the author on track or something. Spencer is a bit bossy, bit ridiculous but solidly protective. Bear is the squish you don't quite expect until you realize he has deep waters of personality running through him; once you see that, he's the obvious choice for favorite. Add in Chase, the ridiculous but helpful one, and it's a good team.

I am happily surprised the author didn't add another layer to the antagonist plotline. What is included is perfectly realistic, despicable and properly resolved.

The pacing is decent. The editing is better than some of the prior books in the series. All in all, it's a good read. Nothing earth shattering, but good.

Enjoyable

It’s a sweet omegaverse with the conflict being external. The male leads were easily distinguishable and the FMC was not a doormat. One of the MMCs is insecure about his appearance (facial scarring) due to reactions from others upon seeing him. Having the FMC fall for him first and finding him genuinely very attractive made their dynamic unique. If you pick this book up for the mystery element, you’ll be disappointed because the identity of the villain is very obvious upon the character’s introduction. I couldn’t rate this book higher because of a couple of things that didn’t work for me. First, the FMC was incredibly childish (sticking her tongue out at people, refusing to eat vegetables, having to be bribed with junk food to do something that’s common sense). I think the author was attempting to portray her as “playful and pure”, but she came off as immature for someone in their twenties. The other issue was the out-of-the-blue introduction of a future FMC with no connection to the story or any of the characters. The FMC of this book is in the cafeteria, a female character suddenly sits next to her (apparently to stop a classmate from pressuring the FMC for notes). The FMC thinks to herself “omg [character name] is sitting next to me, she’s beautiful, mysterious, has rich powerful brothers. I had no idea she was in my class”. The female character is never mentioned again. What was the point of that entire scene?
Anyhow, the story is fast-paced and enjoyable.

Safe And Sound For Always

I was so excited when I realised this was about Spencer & his pack (the security team from Maple’s story). They were wonderful side characters in her book, and I was intrigued & curious by what little we learned about them. They did not disappoint, and even better, what started as them noticing an omega being stalked, led to them finding the perfect omega for them. Them feeling an almost unnatural desire to protect her was definitely a sign that this was going to be more than just a job when they started subtly protecting Flora without her knowledge (ok, basically they were stalking her to find out who her stalker was 👀🤦🏻‍♀️😝). Before you knew it they were being drawn into her orbit without even really trying, which was a good thing when her stalker started escalating. But Flora was very dedicated to her studies, and fiercely independent, because she’d technically always had to be if she wanted to make her own choices. Will she accept the guys’ help, and give into the feelings growing between all of them, thanks to their forced proximity, Or will her stalker take the choice out of her hands? You gotta grab this totally sweet, yet slightly darker, story from Melissa if you wanna find out what happens. If you love the whole stalker storyline, thrown in with omegaverse elements, then you’ve hit the jackpot ❤️

“I was a monster—but I would happily be her monster. Even if I spent the rest of my life in the shadows, watching over her, I would do it gladly.”

Safe and Sound brings a group of ultra-protective alpha bodyguards (ummm, yes please!) which is an absolute FAVORITE! I am such a sucker for the growly over-protective vibes they bring! I am having the absolute best time giggling at their antics (and the number of times we have had to talk about hidden cameras). Bear has melted my heart into a cute little puddle in his big growly hands.

I love the vibes that Melissa Huxley omegaverse books bring. They are so cozy and sweet with a dash of peril or tension that brings them all together. I know that I’m going to have a sweet and low-angst time!

This book absolutely rocked, no notes. From the very first page, the tension grabs you by the collar and refuses to let go. The mix of suspense, danger, and swoony protective alphas kept me completely glued to the story. The stalking plotline adds a constant undercurrent of dread that makes every moment feel urgent, and the payoff is wildly satisfying.

I loved the heroine. A math-loving, routine-devoted, slightly antisocial omega who refuses to give up her education even when chaos crashes into her life? Yes please. Her stubborn determination to keep living her life, even while three overprotective alphas circle like very attractive guard dogs, made her incredibly fun to root for.

Spencer, Bear, and Chase bring the perfect balance of grumpy, protective, and utterly devoted energy. Their dynamic as a pack is fantastic, and the way they close ranks to keep her safe had me grinning the whole time. The banter, the tension, and the fierce loyalty between them all just worked.

Between the high-stakes danger, the emotional moments, and the irresistible pack dynamics, this story was impossible to put down. If you love protective alphas, a smart and stubborn omega, and a suspenseful plot that keeps the pages flying, this one delivers in every possible way. Five stars, no hesitation.

When Protection Turns Possessive

I am obsessed with this new series Melissa just dropped. Omegaverse is already my jam, but add in a security detail and an unhinged stalker? I was hooked from page one.

Flora is an omega living in a rundown apartment while putting herself through college for mathematics. She’s incredibly sweet and selfless, but her family has completely failed her, leaving her to juggle nonstop studying and tutoring just to survive. You can’t help but root for her.

Enter the three-alpha security detail… and chaos ensues.

Spencer is overbearing, intrusive, and constantly in her space, but it all comes from a place of fierce protectiveness (even if he drives Flora absolutely insane). Chase is the tech genius and the sunshine of the group, bringing much-needed levity. And then there’s Bear, intimidating, scarred, and quiet, but underneath it all? A total softie who stole my heart.

Watching these three “protect” Flora from a stalker, while basically acting like stalkers themselves, was such a wild and entertaining ride.

I especially loved Bear’s arc. Seeing someone finally look past his scars and love him for who he truly is was everything. And getting glimpses of Mable and her pack again? Such a great bonus, I adored them the first time around.

I devoured this book and already need the next one. Melissa seriously cannot write fast enough.

I love this series in its wholesome cosiness. This book is a bit darker than the past ones, because of the stalker aspect, but the devotion is just as sweet. Flora is an omega who’s incredibly smart with numbers and knows what she wants in life, and seeing as the way she views her future doesn’t align with her parents’ views, she goes to uni unsupported and has to make ends meet herself. Spencer, Chase and Bear we already knew from Mable’s book, as they’re her pack’s security team. When Spencer is following Percy to class, he realises Flora is being stalked, and it doesn’t take long for his entire pack to get obsessed with (protecting) her. Bear is my absolute fave and has a tender spot in my heart. It felt for me like Chase and Spencer didn’t have enough time to burrow as deep in her heart as he did, but they all fit together and Flora chose them so who am I to judge? I absolutely loathed Flora’s mom, and even the unhinged stalker didn’t change my mind on that. On the other hand, I loved how close Flora and Mable became, they’re such sweet friends! Talking about her friends: I’m so curious to see how Summer’s story goes!

When you have a stalker....and then get another one
Loved this omegaverse from Melissa Huxley. We get to see some of our past characters too with Pack Garnett (Sincerely, Pack Pucked). This one is their security team finding their omega.
Flora has left her home in the midwest to head to Cali to get her degree. Only, she' picked up a stalker along the way too. The head of security for the local hockey pack notices she's being followed after class one day. And, Spencer, just can't shake the thoughts that he needs to watch out for her. He, Bear, and Chase start watching her and keeping an eye out for the stalker. Only Flora, thinks poor Spencer is the bad guy, and she's not wrong, he's defeinitely been tailing her. But when she feels like she's being followed, and runs ot the big burly, Bear, with the scar on his face, and she's not afraid, he and the pack fall for her almost right then and there. And once her heat unexpectedly hits - it's all she wrote from there. Until they figure out who the stalker is and Flora is taken, the'll do anything to get her back, and then never let her go.

I’m obsessed with this! I always have enjoyed Melissa’s books, they are always cozy and fun to read but seeing her work in a darker light with morally grey characters was so good and satisfying!

These characters are amazing, Flora is the sweetest but I loved the fire and sassy in her, specially fighting Spencer because that alpha can be neurotic haha and the way she and Bear connected? I was swooning the whole time but I’m always in love with the big raw but softie alpha, so it was no surprise that he was my favorite! Haha and can’t forget about Chase, he was the chilled and easygoing part to bring this pack together!

I really love a good irony and how much ironic can get when this pack of security guards founded the most adorable omega being stalked and they can’t found a better way to protect her than… stalker her themselves! But this was a sweet, a little over the line, stalking ok? Haha

Super recommended it! The meet cute is well not so cute but unique and interesting with a touch of mystery… the characters are so good and relatable and the story perfectly balanced with spice, sweet and tension!

This was a wonderful series opener that brings us into Flora's life. She's a student with no family support to her education goals, loves strawberries and is an omega. Spencer, Bear and Chase are bodyguards to Pack Garnet and one of their members is in classes with Flora, which lets Spencer notice her....and her stalker. They set out to see if they can keep her safe and fall, one by one for her. I love how she connected with Bear, first, and felt safe with him, blowing his mind that his scars didn't chase her away. Chase was the tech guru of their pack and Spencer was all things OTT when it comes to protection. I was really hooked on the mystery of her stalker and how the story would unfold. Loved it! These four had a hot chemistry but with the danger lurking, I was on the edge of my seat fretting they wouldn't get their HEA. Thankfully, the author had my back and they got the happy ending they deserved. With drama, danger, humour and spice expect to be glued to your reader when you crack this baby open ;P I can't wait for the next book :D

This was so good!

I really enjoyed Flora’s story.

She is a struggling college student who is just trying to survive. She never expected to have run ins with three different Alpha’s that would have her questioning herself.

But then those Alphas tell her of a stalker she has after having stopped her possible kidnapping.

Now she’s trying to come to terms with how they make her feel but also how it all feels being so unsure of what will happen with this stalker.

Her relationship with each Alpha was so sweet. Her & Bear were my absolute favorite because she proved that someone would love him despite all the “flaws” he perceived he had.

Chase was the fun & lighthearted Alpha that had jokes. And Spencer, poor Spencer couldn’t ever seem to get in the good graces of Flora.

But ma do they all work so well together. I was so happy when she really truly gave in to her feelings because they really did care for her.

That ending was intense but their happiness was so well deserved.

Amazing job!

It’s not a groundbreaking literary piece, you read for enjoyment. Overall was a good read that kept me gripped until the end. It also itched the desire to read a short book with omegaverse (that wasn’t a BL/mlm story) and a why choose.

While I enjoyed the book overall, there were quite a few editing, spelling, and grammatical errors, but that didn’t impact my experience too much. Just strange anyone allowed Melissa Huxley to publish a book with unnecessary errors (this is my first book by her so not sure if this a common theme). I also found there to be small plot discrepancies, mostly about character personalities, but again, I didn’t go into this thinking the book would require critical thinking and reflection.

I think you’ll enjoy this if you like omegaverse, a why choose plot line, and a book that can let you turn your brain off. It helps if you don’t get caught up on small errors.

Great next book!

Safe and Sound is the next book in the Pucking pregnant series. And we get to see the intense, sweet alphas from the security team in the first book, take interest in an omega that is being followed by a person in a dark hoodie.

Flora's education is super important to her. Unfortunately, her mother doesn't understand. She thinks Flora should just be a traditional omega and not worry about going to school. This has left Flora living in a not-so-safe apartment. Spencer realizes that she has a stalker so he gets his pack to help keep an eye on her. She doesn't know that they are trying to keep her safe. And this will cause problems between them.

I loved how she really sees Bear. So cute! And he deserves a sweet omega in his life. And the banter between her and Spencer was very entertaining. He needed someone to challenge him. And Chase was sweet and funny.

I really enjoyed this omegaverse and these new characters.

This was so good! I do wish I’d reread the first one before reading this. It isn’t necessary, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I remembered Mable’s pack more clearly. It was still nice to have the connection to the first book and see more of those characters.

I love bodyguard romances, and this was kind of like that, although they aren’t formally hired to protect her. I absolutely ADORE Bear and LOVED how Flora felt safe with him right away. Their interactions gave me all the warm fuzzies!

I felt like some things were a bit overly dramatic, to the point of unrealistic (mom visit), but it didn’t take away much from the story.

Once I started reading I could hardly put it down. I was captivated! Melissa Huxley always writes OVs that make me happy and this one is no exception. 🥰
