The Homecoming

DOUBLE STANDARD BOOK HERE!
Alright, I will be the first to admit that I am a total sucker for first love-time romance but both have to be faithful.
Oh and just one small another issue here, It also has to be FREAKING believable!
For me, when he wanted her at 16 and did nothing about it, was a slap in the face.
Then she come home at 21 and he does nothing again, it was a complete insult!
Sure he loves her here!
Oh sure he does, and can't you tell he is burning with love for her!
And the kicker is that He continues to have sex with other women to "keep in practice" because somehow if you don't keep up with the practice you forget how to f*ck!?
What.the.hell!?
Anyways, let us just move pass that BS for a minute, and now we have the heroine, who was engaged and is a virgin!?

Moving this review along, we have the story which was actually pretty decent. I mean it was an actual story with a plot and characters.
Not just smut here!
They are a sweet couple that I could see working as they talk to each other and respect each other. Even if he tries his bull at places, he essentially still gives her the respect she deserves.
That is all Awesome 3 stars.
Can't give it 5 stars because Honestly 10 years is too much bullsh*t for me here. I mean, she could have been married with 3 kids by the time he got off his butt and took his head out of his ass!

this was just ok for me. I guess him not being celibate and her being a virgin threw me off. she has a fiancee but of course didn't sleep with him:/ I mean come on ten years and no sex ugh. she was only 16 and he was 23 so he felt she was too young(which im grateful for) so he just let her go to live her life experience everything. I get it I do but after awhile go after her.lol anyway besides that it's safe no OW drama. he really loves her and is a good alpha not too much ott which I loved he was a perfect combo:) I loved the epilogue! her brother and the chart omg was too funny!

Not as good as some of her other books, but I still liked it.

I think I upped my original 3 stars to 4 stars. I did enjoy this book, though there were some errors that did bother me like Ms. Silver's misuse of 'worst' when it should be 'worse' and some other errors.
I liked that Donovan and Shania have always been attracted to each other since she was 16 and he was 25, but that it took them forever before they came together and they almost lost each other because she almost got married to someone else. I also liked the whole mystery plot in this book.

Donovan Chase can remember the moment he fell in love with Shania Spalding, however he did not act on it because she was only sixteen at the time. Now Shania has come back home after a breakup that could have left both Donovan and Shania on different paths in life. When Donovan realizes he has the full support of his best friend, her brother, he acts and sets about winning her heart and soul.
This was a bit tempered for Jordan Silver. Good story, more romantic then her others. I liked Donovan a lot, he wants to safely encompass Shania into his life. Shania was sweet but also had a backbone. Fun story.

This was so boring. I wanted easy and mindless, but I NEEDED some drama-llama, something to fill up the pages.
The blurb sets this up, Shania is returning home after her fiancé cheated. Despite being engaged, she’s always secretly been in love with her brother’s best friend Donovan, but he’s never looked at her like that. Fortunately, we mostly get his POV, so we know he’s also been in love with her, but he thought he was doing the right thing letting her spread her wings and achieve her dreams… etc.
The book opens with the bro giving him the green light at her welcome home party, and Donovan determining he’s all in. And the first 60% is him pretty much wooing her with a smidge of cop stuff thrown in. They finally had sex, but I’m so freaking bored I started skimming hard because it’s SO FREAKING OBVIOUS who the bad guy is.
Bottom Line- I was bored. Other than the mystery they are solving there is no (and it provides VERY little) drama at all. Nothing. You’ll also need to accept some bits.

Loved this. I'm a huge fan of Jordan Silver. Push/pull happened off page, so thankfully we don't have to wait very long for them to get together. Om drama in the form of the ex. Safety: The ex did try to rape her before she came back to town, but she fought back so it didn't happen.

Shania and Donovan. Reads like a modernized nauty fairytale. This was really too long. Too much repetition and too predictable to milk the story. But it was entertaining anyways. Shania was especially far fetched in that she was a famous reporter with two serious best selling books at the age of 25...? So read this with a healthy dose of 'suspension-of-disbelief'. Donavan has loved Shania since she was 16 but has kept it to himself til now, a decade later. In fact, he was so successful at keeping it to himself that Shania had no clue. Guess he had to find his nuts first??? Too lazy to go after her? He even goes so far as to avoid her over the last few years when she is back in town. He felt she needed to grow up more and experience life .
Anyways, once he decides to make his move, he doesn't waste time in the typical alpha mode for this author's leading men. But there's a crazy bad-guy who wants her too. The mystery is transparent and roll-yer-eyes, so feel free to skim those parts.

I’m at 39%. So far this is the lamest romance from Jordan Silver I’ve read so far. The MMC just now stated that he would never have let the FMC marry the OM/villain, but 39% of the book begs to differ! All the way up to this point the MMC was thinking, feeling, doing everything contrary to this statement. He couldn’t be with her when she was a minor obviously, but any time after 18 has to be explained and all the MMC states is that she was out of state so it was easy for him to basically forget her. Yeah, I totally feel the romance…

I completed the story. It was definitely a joke. The entire plot revolved around an investigation with barely any details. Any part that was between the couple was only s e x or corny behavior and talk from the MMC. I rolled my eyes so much it was so ridiculous. Nothing in this story is worth reading. Nothing in this book has anything to do with second chances or with the title.
This couple never had a first chance because the MMC was a wussy. And the “homecoming” was two seconds worth of this book. Smdh. Good luck because I found this story to be wack.

3.5 stars. I seldom read Jordan's novel that heroine had a career, not to menion a success one, so this story differed from her other stories.
It would be better if it wasn't so easy to figure out who was the suspect though.
All in all, this is a quick reading for you to relax after a tired day.

I get award for finishing this. Writing was awful. Very little conversational dialogue. After reading first few chapters the same internal dialogue continued so I only read actual dialogue. Punctuation was horrible.

This extended Jordan Silver treat was just so satisfying (to me)! Really steamy, very safe (you know what I mean; no OW angst), insanely straightforward and with a little bit of side suspense story that's jut ok as an ad-in.

Good story with an alpha whose not too over the top. The story is probably a 4 but a lot of spelling and grammar issues as well as one wtf moment in the epilogue but it doesn't ruin the story.
The h, an investigative reporter is returning home to her small town and family of 4 protective big brothers and parents after her engagement ended.
The H, the best friend of one brother has loved her since she was 16 but being 8 years older never made a move because first she was too young then she was away at college and pursuing her career.
She's back now and he's not going to let this opportunity pass even though he's determined not to move too fast. She's always felt the same about him and much to the H's surprise, her family is all for Donovan being the one to settle her down and keep her at home.
Around the 1/2 way point the love scenes heat up and pretty much go full force. You have to suspend reality with the number of big O's he's able to give her in a single session but hey, it's not like I read these for reality, it's all about the fantasy.
The H & h are likeable and the suspense plot could almost have been left out without missing. Currently at .99 it's a bargain.

Phew! If you like your hero to be possessive, protective, single minded, HOT, badass good guy and totally fixed on his woman alone.....then this is your book. There is a good dose of drama/ action when the bad guys hit town and our gorgeous cop, Donovan, steps up to the mark. His woman , Shania, needs protecting and he is truly the man for the job. Good secondary characters. Nice ending. Mainly told in Donovan's pov but occasional input from Shania. If you want a hero that goes seriously caveman on his woman then read this book.

I was bored to tears with this book. I'd read other titles by Jordan so I gave this book a try. I like that Jordan writes differently for her books, so there's this element of fresh with each title. This story just happened to be something that didn't interest me. The male and female characters seems flat and I was way tired of dude and his "princess" statements. I've loved on other books of Jordan's so I wont be holding this against her.

Oh and because of that she has to watch while he goes out and sows his wild oats. You know date and stand in the background while staying a virgin herself. Same tired and recycled female.

Super sweet with a whole lotta alpha thrown in. Donovan is Jordan’s usual over the top jealous/possessive alpha caveman type who is totally sweet to Shania. Shania had a totally bad experience and is absolutely okay with the caveman. It’s obvious that they were meant to be together and the story is really sweet! And super hot and steamy!

I love this book! Donovan is so open and honest with how he feels for Shania. He doesn’t hide or play games and I love it! Shania is just the right amount of sweetness and spicy and the added intrigue really makes this a perfect story

Honestly, this book was kinda boring and I ended up skimming through a good amount. I did appreciate that there was a plot that went along with the romance, but I also didn’t like how sexist the H was at times. I mean overall, he is one of the tamer heroes from her novels.
