I still find the workplace parts a little bit confusing. It's all very slow-paced and civil, with Tae-moon spending most of his time writing up transition documents to ease out of his role, even though the head of his department is busy leaking his private information to tabloids.
And nothing's happening with the Seon-woo case, I guess? He's going to be leaving with Tae-moon anyway, but that dispute's still in need of resolution, so everyone's in a kind of strange holding pattern.
Seon-woo's family has access to important information that Tae-moon's father is desperate to get his hands on, but they won't release it unless it becomes necessary...but what exactly is going to qualify as necessary? I guess right now there's just the beginning of an attempt to smear Tae-moon's name, with Seon-woo largely in the clear, even if one of Tae-moon's casual but obsessive exes is photographing him and spreading it around their hookup community.
It seems very silly to me that this guy literally threatened to ruin Tae-moon's life by leaking information about what he'd done to him...and that same guy is in recent photos with the guy who'd written the original article about Tae-moon and his father...but Tae-moon and Seon-woo both go: oh well, probably just a coincidence, let's think about that later if it becomes a problem.
Other than that, I really loved this volume. Both of them are extremely smart, capable men who are absolute disasters in a relationship.
I love how utterly and completely Tae-moon is in love with his utter weirdo of a boyfriend. He's trying so, so hard and continuing to get things wrong because he spends way too much time in his own head, imagining scenarios and coming to conclusions that don't align at all with Seon-woo's strange brain. Seon-woo, meanwhile, isn't nearly as oblivious and unbothered as he seems. He's been kind of tricking himself into thinking he's fine, while burying his own worries.
He thinks Tae-moon is going to either get weirded out by him, or grow bored in their relationship. After all, he's new to all of this, he's got a whole creepy notebook of things he wanted to do with Tae-moon, and he's hooking up with a guy most people would think is wildly out of his league.
Meanwhile, Tae-moon is trying to be a good boyfriend - prioritizing dates and dinner and time spent together outside of the bedroom, but it feels like Seon-woo is only interested in his body.
What I love is that while they do stew on these misunderstandings, they always end up talking about them - in detail! Tae-moon will say something, deeply regret how cruel he thinks it made him sound, and then pretty quickly revisit the conversation to tell Seon-woo what he'd actually meant. And Seon-woo will flat-out insist that Tae-moon stop dancing around the ex story and just tell him the whole thing in detail, without trying to filter out anything.
Seon-woo's family continues to be wonderful. I love how much they've embraced Tae-moon and accepted him as part of their family. And I really like them standing up to his dad! Between them and Seon-woo himself, Tae-moon's selfish, explosive father is gradually learning how to treat his son like an actual family member whom he loves.
It's a nice progression and something that never would've happened if Tae-moon hadn't found himself this strange, outspoken, entirely true to himself boyfriend.
Love, too, that Tae-moon has seen Seon-woo's kinks notebook now and is weirded out by it but also willing to figure out what they're okay trying together. Seon-woo, in turn, is learning that he's on board with the softer, more romantic "boyfriend" things that Tae-moon prefers. They're a strange pairing, but a good one.
Seon-woo, you are the light of my life! I adore your crazy ass. Please never change 🙏🏼
This volume was so delightful. I spent most of it giggling and kicking my feet. What I found the most fun was the miscommunication between Seon-woo and Tae-moon about the current state of their relationship. Tae-moon is under the assumption that he should be acting way more romantic and wants to start going on dates and deprioritizing sexual intimacy. This makes Seon-woo assume that Tae-moon is losing interest in him, so he starts playing hard to get as the advice he finds online suggests. Shenanigans ensue as both characters are confused by the actions of the other one. It was fantastic!
The best part of the miscommunication between these two dumb dumbs is how it ends up resolving. They both have a long conversation where they explain their actions, where they were coming from, and reach a compromise on how they're going to act moving forward. It was so wonderful to read 💖 I felt especially blessed to see Tae-moon reveal his romantic side and be so considerate of Seon-woo's feelings. THIS is the behavior I want from my tops 😭👌🏼
In terms of the stuff going on at their workplace, I really don't care. Oops 🙊 I find it the least interesting part of the story. However, I do like how we're developing the character of Tae-moon's dad. The confrontations between Chairman Jeong and Seon-woo are the best! It's even better that at the end of this volume we get Seon-woo's family also roasting the Chairman. What a time to be alive 😌
Couldn't be more excited to read the next volume! 💖
They are such a cute couple. I’m happy we’re getting into the more serious relationship territory. I just need the workplace portions to get cleared up, because I was confused by that immensely. Are they working two different jobs at two different companies? Is Seon-Woo an accountant and a secretary? I don’t know.
Although I’ve liked other volumes better this one was still good and I love how these two communicate so well with each other, after some misunderstandings of course.
My only complaint can Seon-woo please stop calling Tae-moon Mr. I don’t understand that trope in romance at all. You are dating this person stop referring to them like they are your teacher or boss.
I'm accepting that I am simply the wrong audience for this. It's not particularly funny to me and more boring than it isn't. 5+ volumes of very bad miscommunication and plots that never resolve is just uncomfortable (Seon-woo is just kind of annoying and Tae-moon is irritating and silly). For folks who like that kind of boys love, I'm glad for them. I even tried rereading earlier volumes for the parts I liked, and was reminded of how much I didn't like before I got to parts I did. That's not to say that the writing is bad, but I have to wonder about how I tend to like the people Moscareto works with than Moscareto.
My dearest hope is that Seven Seas pushes for ebooks of more of their manhwa titles, though. I wish I had ebooks of "ENNEAD", "The New Recruit", and "My Bias is Showing?!". And that they start adding in the honorifics to their translations. It's ridiculous they typically cut them out.
This volume was equally funny, filled with silly misunderstandings, a bit of lack of communication, and the plot moved nicely. Seon-woo will always be a riot. He's so cray cray, I love him!!! Tae-moon is still trying to understand how Seon-woo's mind works. His father is learning a lesson, and Seon-woo's family is amazing! (his sister is equally funny) Overall, funny and crazy, but with relationship and family development.
Idk why this series says it’s not published? I also don’t know where in the story this one includes. Just know it’s perfect and I love this couple. They deserve the world. But man is this story wild haha
I didn't like this one as much as the others, only because I thought we were getting passed the miscommunication trope. I still liked it though and I like the couple together.
