Damage. Craving. Ruin. I didn’t see them coming. Now I’m in their sights. And it’s already too late.
I was made for war and twisted by shadows. For years, I was hunted for what I am. Now I’ve come to Wraeven Academy to build a new life. Home to the feared, the hunted, and the deadly.
On my very first day, complications abound. Three dangerous men orbit my new world. Sylas Morgrave – A necromancer marked by death, he wears punishment like a second skin. His magic tangles with mine, both menacingly and irresistibly. Lazriel Thaine – A werewolf-vampire hybrid and underground warrior, all snarling dominance and savage restraint. He circles me like prey—a fixation barely tamed. Cassius Ashmoor – A Fallen Celestial, cold and commanding. He sees our connection as a threat to his tightly controlled existence.
My enemies were meant to be gone. It’s supposed to be safe at long last. Until whispers turn to screams. Threats become sinister promises. The ones who tormented me are rising again.
I’ve always been afraid of the darkness within me. Then these three circling me at the Academy wear theirs like armor. They teach me to do the same. But there’s always a price to power. And that just might mean giving in to their hunger for me.
We’re all battle born. But together, we’re merciless monsters.
This is a Dark Paranormal Academy Reverse Harem Romancewith scenes of M/M. The story concludes in ROSE AND SHADOWS.
Leia writes edgy and emotional stories in Dark Reverse Harem Romance. She enjoys crafting flawed heroes with a dark side and strong women who hold their own.
this was really hard to read, I had no idea you apparently had to read another series beforehand because this book feels like starting the second book In a series. I'm confused why the author didn't just say to read another series first because you will be confused and not understanding anything here. Cassian was forgiven way too easily it's pathetic no plot and no villain until 97% into the book, so bad writing very boring book too

Was this good? Not really… did it however get me out of a reading slump? Yes yes it did. Here’s the deal, there was a lot I did enjoy about this book. The magic system is interesting, the characters are cool, the spice is really good. However, you def should read the series that comes before this first or else you feel as if you’ve been dropped in the middle of a series and it takes a bit to catch on to things. Also it’s a lot of spice. The spice is goodDddd but it’s a lot of it. And one thing about me and why choose, I don’t like when it’s insta lust with all the guys. Like it’s book 1 and she’s fucking all of them and they’re all a unit already… so there’s no tension holding for me for the rest of the series. But if you don’t mind that and you’re looking for hot spice in a fantasy realm, this is for you! I don’t think I’ll continue the series personally tho. But it was a fun time and finally got me to read and finish a book after SOTR.
I really enjoyed the plot and characters once I got through the beginning. I have to say it did start a little confusing, and it took me some time to adjust to the writing style. However, once I settled into it, I found myself enjoying the storyline and I can see the direction the author is taking with the world and the series. It definitely feels like the foundation for something that will continue to build and grow.
What I liked:
• The characters – I liked that they were all quite different from one another but still complemented each other in interesting ways. Their dynamics worked well together and added depth to the story.
• The magic – The magic system has a lot of potential. I think there’s real merit to it, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the magic and lore continue to develop as the story progresses.
First book in a new trilogy, following on from the Immortal Flame trilogy, we see Cassius, Velra, Lazriel and Sylas again. Cassius adapting to being Fallen, Velra trying to overcome her fear, Sylas still suffering from his infection and Lazriel being his violent self. This had me gripped from the first chapter. We see them change and learn to work together while enemies are trying to destroy them. That cliffhanger?! Oh boy! How that works out I can’t wait to see.
I really enjoyed the world building and character development. At times it did feel like you were dropped into a middle of a story where you missed the beginning to. I loved the balance of the guys it didn’t feel too much like one person got more time than the next. I do love a good everyone loves everyone trope ❤️
🌟🌟🌟🌟✨-4.5 🔥🔥🔥- definitely not the filthiest thing but definitely some heated moments
Oh my goodness! I can't explain how much I absolutely loved this book!! I need book 2 like yesterday!! I devoured this so quickly!! I love this sooo much!! So much action, mystery, twist and hot as sin spice!! Exactly what I was needing!!
I highly recommend this book and the author!! Check this out now!!!
Multiple POV. Reverse harem. Paranormal. This was by far better than the previous books in this universe. The MFC is featured throughout. I would have liked more focus on the MFC. It seems the author tried to develop each character equally, but in doing that it left the MFC a little undeveloped.
DNF at 40 pages. The writing was bizarre and very distracting. Too much exposition and background that happened before the story started. Jumping between characters as soon as chapter two also made it difficult to enjoy.
I felt like the FMC wasn’t the center of the RH like you’d expect, it was more focused on one of the MMC and his connections to the mother MMCs in the group. And how the plot was basically mostly about him. Also.. super hard to get into and got bored a lot.
That ending sucked! Glad this series is done! Because having to wait to find put what happens sucks! There was a bit more male on male in this one though!
This reads a bit more immature, like a YA, but with spice. I do feel like the dialogue and plot are lacking, but I am definitely interested in seeing how this progresses.
