Trigger warning for the third book: dubious consent Trigger warning for the second book: attempted rape, abusive relationship
I can tell this was a box set I bought years ago for like 99p. I'm surprised they're written by a female author, the sex scenes are pretty... lacking in understanding female pleasure? Definitely feel like these verge on PWP and the first P is not well written.
The scenes discussing skiing/snowboarding require you to understand how to do both. So I was lost pretty quickly. These books killed some hours, they're also not the worst books I've ever read, but I won't be picking them up ever again.
I had already read the first two by the time I got this set. Totally not an issue since the first two were fantastic enough to read again even though it wasn't necessary because I could have simply skipped to Rush. Gretchen has very little need when it comes to men...sex first, door after. Relationships aren't a necessity in her world since she is too busy concentrating on being in the next Olympic games. It is a use them and lose them attitude that she has, especially when they become too needy, too clingy, too attached. She is going to have her dreams and no one is going to get in her way. Derrick also has his own agenda when it comes to the opposite sex. No strings attached, both mutually satisfied. Since they both believe in the same thing this should be easy, right? Unfortunately, Derrick isn't her usual type. Tattooed bad boys are her thing and he is just too cleaned up. And Derrick prefers a woman who is easy to command around and deals with his bossy ways but she is very strong-minded and independent. Are they ever going to be able to get close enough without wanting to kill each other? And do they go their own ways after or is someone else looking a little more than tempting?
Crave 5 stars. I enjoyed this book. It had a few interesting twists in it. To me, a good writer will make you fall for the characters; I fell. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Release 4 stars. I fell in love with the characters again. My only issue is that it picked up in the middle of the last one so something's were repetitive. I did not like that there were subtle differences in the story from one book to the other. To me, they should have been the same. Other than that, this was another great book.
Rush 4 ½ stars. I enjoyed this book in the Fire and Ice series. I subtracted half a star because there were somethings in the book that I thought were a little unbelievable. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Crave, Release, and Rush are amazing books. Lori and Kaleb are from Crave. Cassie and Jason are from Release. Gretchen and Derrick are from Rush. The girls are included in each book because they're friends. The guys are included because they're the girls boyfriends. They meet and fall in love. Each story is different. I fell in love with all the characters and couldn't put the book down.
Loved this series. My only issue was that sometimes the book seemed to have completed, but kept going. It's not that I didn't appreciate the ending, it just seemed to carry on for a possible word count quota. Just thought it was strange. Loved the characters and felt their words and actions were very realistic. Thank you for such a great series!
The books are a good read you get to know the characters. I'd tell others about this series of books. I had not read any Violet Vaughn I look forward to reading more of her books.
Loved the books in the set. Each had their own story line but connected well with the others. Their was romance and compassion as well as suspense and some heartache. But in the end, love and romance trumps all.
All three books had it all.....humor, sex, sadness, drama and more sex. The heroines were gutsy and fearless in everything except relationships. The heroes were the same, except it took them longer to come to heel. Highly recommend.
Boys of Winter Boxed set is by Violet Vaughn. This series is a sport romance series set in the mountains at a ski resort. Each of them are good books and will stand alone. I really likes the entire series.
I knew that reading a book by Violet Vaught will be amazing and I was right. This book is combination of a good story with hot description. I can't wait to start book four.
whilst this book is good and obvious violet is a good writer but its wayyyyyy to long so many chapters i felt i was lost there was more time spent on skiing than the development of the charcters.
Really good series. I wish that it was longer. I could read more and be very happy. The author creates great characters with lots of depth. Very sexy but not over the top. I would recommend.
Wow who knew... I really didn't have high expectations for these books but in the end these books were really good ... Lots of ups and downs ,romance , heart ache .. Awesome read and will recommend
