AKA Michèle Ann Young (Goodreads Author)

An army brat born in England and now living in Canada, Ann grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side. She has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.

Her love of the past and the stories in her imagination led her to write her first novel in 2000, a never-see-the-light-of-day-effort, and after having her first book published in 2006, she knew she'd found her niche.

She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.

You will find her books in bookstores in the month of issue, as well as on line at Mills and Boon or E-harlequin.

There's just something about Harlequin Historicals that I just love. When I first started reading romances Harlequin's were what I lived on in fact there was a time (before the blog and Goodreads) that for awhile that's all I was reading, but like many things, my reading tastes changed. I've branched out in the wonderful world of books but to me Harlequin romances are always there after a heavy read and just cracking open one fills me with nostalgic feelings.

Back in April, I had a chance to meet Ann at one of the local author/reader gatherings that I go to called Night Out With Authors http://nightoutwithauthors.blogspot.ca and got my review copy of this one. I'm a huge fan of Ann Lethbridge's books that she's written under her pseudonym Michele Ann Young, but this was my first time reading any of her Harlequin historical romances and I've got to say I enjoyed this one just as much as her other romances.

I thought Drew was one of the more unique heroes that I've found in a romance. He's horribly scarred due to circumstances he was placed in and he's got his fair share of mental scars as well, which means he's prone to mood swings but he can be incredibly sweet and caring sometimes that ya just have to forgive him for being a grump sometimes. I thought his sense of duty was admirable and I loved how he treated Rowena, who has a sharp tongue but he doesn't let her walk all over him. Instead I thought it was nice to have a hero who sometimes pushed the boundary of domineering actually treat our heroine with respect. I just wish he'd believe in himself more, but then again I love a tragic hero who finds love.

Rowena, took some getting used to for me. I ended up really liking her in the end but she comes off as kind of abrasive in the beginning which I get because she's been through hell just like Drew, hers was just one of a different sort. What I absolutely adored about her was how smart and outspoken she was. If you like waifish heroines than look somewhere else because this lady here is a firecracker! I loved when she'd take people to task and show the world that just because she's a woman she's sharp of tongue and wit.

Most of all though I loved the chemistry between the two of them. Both have that alpha personality which is why they bicker so much but their past hardships, while very different drew these two damaged but deserving people together amongst death, going on the run, and uncovering the mystery of a certain inheritance. These to went together so well, and I enjoyed all the thrills that Ann packed into the story. The pace was excellent, and I really enjoyed the way that the story ended because there was a little surprise in the end that I just thought was perfect.

I do have to admit though that as much as I loved and enjoyed reading Drew and Rowena's story I was a wee bit lost since this is her final installment in Ann's Gilvry's of Dunross and certain events and characters are mentioned that I know are from the preceding books so I just want to put it out there that reading the series in order is something that I would do, and am actually planning on doing now but that's just me (I'm a stickler for reading a series in order).

Overall, I am very much looking forward to reading the books that came before Drew and Rowena's story, since I met Drew's brothers in this one I'm curious to find out how they found love to and I know Ann Lethbridge has ensured it will be a wild ride. I'd recommend this one to all fans of historical romances looking for a heroine that isn't a pushover and a hero that needs lots of lovin'!

I won this book through a Goodreads contest. I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of unexpected twists and turns and I didn't know who the "bad" guy was until the very end. This book proves once again that outer beauty is only superficial and that true love comes from the heart. I am also a sucker for a mushy ending which this book provides in spades. I would recommend this book.

Totally loved the story of Drew and Rowena. I was thrilled with this final installment in the Gilvry saga. I had to keep turning the pages as quickly as I could to find out what happened to Drew in America - and to figure out exactly what the mystery was involving Rowena's story. It was a great book. But I always know when I pick up a book by Ann Lethbridge, I will be transported immediately into a wonderful tale!!!

Kind of weird but I was so into this the entire way through. Damn Harlequin and their page limits, as the ending was rushed.

The hero is an ultra macho Scot. This was a real page turner. Well paced and lots of intrigue and steam factor was hot, hot, hot.

Treachery is afoot. Andrew Gilvry is finally returning home to Scotland. He want's revenge against his brother, Ian. His plans are on hold since he promised to help widowed Rowena MacDonald. She needs to return her husband's body to his family and settle her inheritance with the Duke of Mere. The attraction between these two wounded souls is immediate and powerful, but hey will honor their promises. Why are their lives in danger? This is the final novel of The Gilvrys of Dunross series. Ann Lethbridge has written a satisfying conclusion that has the reader hooked from the first page. Drew and Rowena are memorable characters. Their emotional intensity is powerful and their desire is passionate. The suspense takes many twists and turns that kept me guessing as to the culprit. I loved seeing the Gilvrys reunited. They are such a memorable family. This book will join the other series books on my keeper shelf. It is a powerful and well-written story with a perfect ending.

"Lethbridge’s Gilvry men and their adventures are almost legendary, so it’s a delight to finally get to know this prodigal son. Even if this is a first meeting with the Gilvrys, readers will enjoy the adventure-fraught journey and the heated sexy games, along with a touch of mystery and the love of family (RT Book Reviews)". 4 stars

Une jeune veuve délaissée par son mari va découvrir le vrai amour dans les bras de son protecteur. Une romance historique somme toute assez classique, mais on se laisse prendre au jeu.

Very enjoyable read from start to finish. Likable and well developed characters, by the end of the book you were really hoping the heroine would get her hero.
