Omega Kip is ready to find his fated mate, even if it means leaving the only den he's ever known. Temporarily. A getaway to a cozy cabin in the mountains sounds like the perfect place to meet his mate.
Alpha Braxton has had his heart set on Kip for years, but the stubborn omega never took his flirtations seriously. So when he finds out Kip’s sneaking off to find love elsewhere, he does what any determined alpha would do… he accidentally double books the cabin and shows up with a duffel bag and a plan.
Now stuck together with one bed, one fireplace, and more unresolved tension than a knot that won’t quit, Kip has to face the one alpha he never expected maybe the one he’s been looking for all along.

Jena began writing in January of 2013 as a New Year's Resolution--and so far she has stuck to it!
She lives in Michigan. By day she works as a web developer, and at night she writes. Born and raised on a farm, she spends most of her free time outdoors, playing in the garden, or riding her horses. She also helps run the family dairy farm.
I liked the sound of this set-up, with omega shifter Kip branching away from his pack (den?) of bear shifters, to an events-filled, Christmassy resort for the holidays, where he hopes to find a love match with an alpha to call his own. What Kip doesn’t realise is that his fated mate is actually someone he’s known his whole life and that he suffers from a rare disorder that makes it impossible for him to scent his mate in plain sight.
Enter bear shifter and Kip’s co-worker, Braxton. Braxton realised a few years ago that Kip was his mate, but when Kip never responded in kind he decided on the silly non-communication route, trying to be close with Kip while hoping the slightly younger shifter would eventually realise their deeper bond on his own, completely unaware of Kip’s faulty scenting abilities (honestly, I blame his damn parents!!!).
Naturally, Brax panics when he hears that Kip is going on a Christmassy vacation with the express purpose of finding his mate. So, he follows along, employing the help of staff to change Kip’s booking so they’re forced to share a cabin over the holidays.
I figured the story would then play out with a bunch of false stops and starts, as Kip searched for love around the resort, while Braxton stayed loyally by his side until he was truly seen… but the “omg, we’re mates!” moment happened pretty damn quickly and these two wasted no time getting down to the mating and claiming portion of their festivities.
That’s all well and good—I’m not really one to care about insta-love when it’s a short story or, in this case, a novella length holiday tale—but I was a bit disappointed when the story then glossed over days’ worth of heat and mating shenangians, instead, light-speed through any deeper feelings and diving straight to the mpreg surprise of it all.
The story was all things light and breezy, and wintery and cozy enough to sate my holiday reading cravings, but I also felt the whole thing was very rushed—so much so, I didn’t feel I had time to know these characters or their fated relationship beyond fairly surface level stuff. Which is fine, of course—especially if that’s the vibe you’re after in your holiday romance reading—I just personally needed a bit more to have been truly satisfied with the end result.
The good news is, although this was (I believe) my first time reading a Jena Wade story, I enjoyed myself enough to definitely consider doing some more research on her backlog and trying my hand at, perhaps, a lengthier one of her M/M omegaverse stories.
NOTE: This is part of a multi-author shared M/M omega universe, with all the stories set at the same shifter friendly Christmastime resort. But each book is completely capable of being read as a standalone, should any particular stories hold more appeal than others—no reading order is necessary.
I really enjoy this multi-author series. In Jena Wade's Accidentally Double Booked, Braxton decides to follow Kip to his resort cabin vacation after learning that Kip is looking for his mate. Braxton can't let Kip attempt to find someone else because Braxton knows Kip is his fated mate. So, he goes and "accidentally" books the same cabin to attempt to find out if Kip will realize he's fated to Braxton. These two are cute, and when Kip figures things out, he's a bit saucy with Braxton. I love the fated mates. Wade weaves a fun story with fun characters.
This was a short quick read that I liked. Omega bear shifter Kip is tired of waiting for his mate so he books a getaway in a mountain cabin to find him. Alpha bear shifter Braxton knows who is mate is and he has been waiting two years for him to recognize him. When he finds out that Kip has gone to the mountains to find his mate he shows up at the same cabin. This was a pretty good read Kip was unable to smell his mate but when they kissed he knew and was angry because Braxton didn't tell him. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Your crush is you fated mate. How didn't you know?
I love this series! This time the overbooking is kinda on purpose. Kip and Braxton are made for each other. Their mating is as perfect as it is inevitable. I was drawn in from the first pages. I couldn't wait for things to come together. Christmas Festival gonna on, hot sex and "bear fishing". And...an adorable baby. HEA is assured. So grab this book Now. You will love it just like I do.
A bit boring, Too trope (whatever that means), Too rushed and one glaringly annoying inconsistency.
They do market and cookies but don't actually acknowledge holidays in any way at lodge or home. Super fast bear gestation lasts more than nine months. No everyday life or home life, no depth.
DNF@ 50% I was so looking forward to this book since I read the brothers book. But on that note I can’t stand time jumps and it made it seem like he had a small heat after the claiming we didn’t see. Like dang why skip the good part ☹️
What a sweet story! Kip is an omega who yearns to find his mate, unaware that he already has met him. Braxton has known he was Kip’s mate for two years, hoping Kip will recognize the bond. This was a real sweet story. Highly recommended
Ele estava indo atrás de seu companheiro, o que ele não sabia era que ele está ao lado, e realmente ao lado a dois anos, e bom foi com esse impulso que tudo deu certo, pois precisou de ferias e erro de reserva para todos encontrar seu HEA.
