Her alien abductors made one fatal they put her in a cell with him.
When Zinnia is uprooted from her life on Earth by alien slavers, she is thrown into a cell with a huge, golden statue. Desperate to escape her harsh new reality, she finds herself talking to him, baring her soul to the silent male.
But when the aliens come to drag her to a fate worse than death, the statue does the impossible. He wakes up.
Jaxx has been trapped in a conscious stasis for cycles, his mind aware but his body locked in a golden shell. He is frozen by grief and loss until a new voice enters his silent world—soft, warm, and achingly alive. Zinnia becomes his tether to reality, and when she is threatened, her terrified scream shatters his prison.
Driven by a fierce, protective instinct, Jaxx frees them both, but their escape pod crashes on a forgotten world. Surrounded by the remains of a fallen civilization, they begin to build a life together.
But the slavers have no intention of losing their property and as the hunters close in, Jaxx must confront the ghosts of his past in order to protect his future.
A warrior who gave up hope. A woman who lost everything. Can they build a future from the ruins of the past?
Each book in the Alien Abduction series can be read as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy romance is intended for a mature audience only.
🪐 Bookish Thoughts Not quite the Zombie I was expecting but I liked the story! I haven’t made my way through the whole series but I’ve enjoyed those I’ve read so far.
Oh my goodness. It's hard to believe we just hit Z on the abductions and events taking place in the Kaisarian Empire. We also got to revisit several previous couples and I love getting reacquainted with familiar faces.
BUT FIRST! Zinnia and Jaxx. She's been taken from Earth (as so many have), dropped in a cargo container (because the traffickers who nabbed her are working a side hustle separate from their regular trafficking), and keeps herself sane by talking to the statue in the container with her. He's a warrior from a powerful (possibly extinct) race who's been in statis for who knows how long. Zinnia's presence and stories guide him back from his statis and when she's threatened, Jaxx does what any able-bodied warrior would do when his special someone is in danger and TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS.
During their escape, they crash land on an abandoned planet, make a pretty decent home for themselves in the ruins, and promptly find out the buyers who were trying to acquire Jaxx are determined to get their hands on him. For REASONS. Bad, bad reasons.
There's some fighting, a little almost-piracy, and some serious smooching along the way. Plus? They end up in the Kaisarian Emperor's palace where Zinnia gets to see that there are plenty of other humans out there who have found their place in this big, messy universe.
Seeing familiar faces is always fun and the setup for what's coming next is laid out nicely. All in all, GOOD STUFF!
‘Zinnia and the zombie’ is the 26st book and also the last one in the ‘Alien abduction’ series. I have to admit, I’m reading the stories in this series completely out of order, but that’s no problem at all. The stories can be read as standalones. Some couples appear in other stories as secondary characters, but this just makes me curious to read their stories as well. Ultimately, I will read all the stories in this series, just not in the alphabetical order (I can be a rebel sometimes).
This story is about Zinnia, a human woman who is abducted from Earth. She wakes up alone, locked in a room on a spaceship. Zinnia is scared, and the only thing that gives her comfort and some light in the darkness is a golden statue of an alien man. Talking to the golden statue helps her through the dark days and nights. When she needs help against one of the aliens who abducted her, to her great surprise, the golden statue comes to life and saves her.
Commander Jaxxlariat t’Semon is a Zathix warrior, who got wounded in battle and his body entered a state of stasis. Stasis is common for his people; it’s their way of healing the body from major wounds. They are the only ones who can do it. But because no one of his people was around to wake him, Jaxx spent many years in this state. Then a soft, sad female voice awakens him. He listens to her stories about her life, and when she’s in trouble, he breaks his stasis to help her.
From the beginning, there’s a bond between Zinnia and Jaxx. They flee the spaceship, but their escape pod crashes on a planet that was once inhabited by a highly intelligent civilization, but who are now all gone. All that remains is a city with buildings, gardens and technology. Zinnia and Jaxx find shelter, food and water on the planet. Their bond grows stronger, but unfortunately their safe little world is discovered by bad alien hunters. They will have to use all their intelligence, tricks and fighting skills to escape, but even then they aren’t safe. But whatever happens, Zinnia and Jaxx are determined to stay together and fight for their freedom and love.
I really loved Zinnia and Jaxx, they were wonderful together. Zinnia’s childhood wasn’t good but the difficulties she experienced as a child made her flexible and resilient, she didn’t complain. She always made the best of a bad situation. She wasn’t a warrior or fighter like Jaxx, but she did her best to help him in her own way. She was intelligent and practical. As a florist she was interested in all the alien flowers and the nature they discovered on the alien planet they crashed on. Jaxx’s people were respected for their military achievements, and Jaxx was a great fighter. He was very protective of Zinnia and treated her with care. But he also respected her opinion. They were partners. Jaxx carried a big loss. He didn’t know how long he had been in stasis, or if any of his people were still alive. The last thing he remembered was that his people were dying and that all his crew had been killed except him. His loyalty and honor compelled him to investigate whether any more of his people were still alive. Both Zinnia and Jaxx had their questions about their future but one thing was for sure they wanted to spend it together.
As I mentioned before, I really like Zinnia and Jaxx, both as characters and as a couple. The story was full of action, romance and had a happy ending. All things I love. However, I was left with a few questions, and this surprised me a bit, especially because it’s the final installment in a series. I’m still curious about a few things, like how long was Jaxx in stasis? And how come that his ‘statue’ was sold when the people who attacked his ship wanted a Zathix warrior?
I liked the story, but it just didn’t feel finished to me, and I like for my story to be finished, but that’s a personal feeling. The story felt more like the start of a series then the end of one.
This is the last of 26 books going from A-Z but I'm thrilled to hear it WILK not be the last book in the Kaisarian Universe. I have thoroughly enjoyed these adventures one at a time and I look forward to what ever new books in the ABC's arc if the Kaisarian Universe come out in the future. In this book Zinnia wakes up stolen from all she's knows on an alien vessel. She realizes very soon that these beings want nothing good for her. While trying to figure a way out she means on and tells a beautiful golden statue of an alien male all about her past life on earth and how scared she is now. What she doesn't know is that alien statue is just as trapped as she is for he's really in some sort of stasis that just makes him look like an object. Jaxx is what he believes the last of his kind betrayed In battle wounded his body went into it natural stasis to repair his injuries. He has no idea how lo g he's been healing all he knows is the soft feel of something leaning against him and a voice speaking to him often crying and seeking comfort. Its not until he feels the fear co.ing fro. The being sitting near him that he finally wakes up. Together they escape, go one the run crash and discover a whole new evil looking too control the universe and plans on using Jaxx as the key. Even if they have to hunt him down by force. Will Zinnia and Jaxx be able to survive the challenges ahead and nurture the love growing between them or will they be torn from one another by this new evil? You'll have to read and find out! Highly recommend and I honestly can't wait to see what happens next in the new arc 🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥💖💖🌟🔥🌟🔥🌟💖🌟🔥🌟
I loved falling in love with both Zinnia and Jaxx. I loved his patience and understanding of that her past was influencing her present. Especially with what happened to her mother. He seemed to be able to sensed what she needed. It was interesting how he got his energy and how she helped him come out of stasis. I loved her sage advice for him with dealing with his past,( from her own experiences). Loved her one day at a time philosophy . It really helped when it came to the challenges they faced together. Well written with just the right amount of spice to the eventual romance. Action and intrigue throughout the story. The flow was very good. You will want to read the book in one sitting just to see what came next. I also loved that previous characters helped. Faith and Athtar from book 6 - Faith and the Fighter and of course Ella and the Emperor (book 5). There journey to the unknown is just the beginning for them. But they were given a very deserved HEA. Even though the alphabet is completed I am looking forward to reading about the secondary characters in the series.

This is a charming sci-fi romance and the final book in the Alien Abduction series. Each book works as an interconnected standalone, and this one ties into Faith and the Fighter, Ella and the Emperor, and Alien Most Wanted: Mastermind.
Human FMC Zinnia wakes up as a captive on an alien slave ship. Her only companion is a golden “statue” AKA the alien MMC Jaxx, trapped in his stasis form.
This story feels epic, touching on so many of the series’ favorite tropes, time on a ship, survival on an uninhabited planet, thrilling space battles, and even connections back to the political system. The characters were sweet together, and I enjoyed how their relationship grew slowly and naturally.
I loved how this book wrapped up the series, bringing everything full circle while still leaving room for future adventures. I can’t wait to see what Phillips has planned for The ABCs of Alien Abduction, coming in 2026!
Spice 4.5/5 Plot: 4.5/5 Writing: 4.5/5 My Enjoyment: 4.5/5
*** I received an ARC and am voluntarily, leaving my honest review.
Zinnia is resilient, intelligent, and strong; her strength isn’t about physical prowess, it is in her ability to keep her humanity and compassion in spite of her circumstances. Jaxx is a unique MMC. He isn’t introduced as a growly warrior or a dashing rescuer—he begins the story frozen, silent, and seemingly lost to darkness. His connection to Zinnia is the light that pulls him from the darkness.
When Zinnia's cries of distress break through his frozen state and his body finally responds, Jaxx shifts from statue to defender. He is completely loyal and dedicated to Zinnia, not just because she brought him from his stasis, but because she 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒔 him. With Zinnia, he discovers he’s more than his past, more than a prisoner, more than a weapon. He’s a partner, and together they have a future worth fighting for.
Their journey is a story of connection, courage, and hope. A beautiful ending to a great series—but not an end to stories from the Kaisarian Universe, be sure to read the Author's Note after the Epilogue!
“And now there’s you. And I… I don’t know what to do with how I feel.” She had expected his expression to be blank or confused, but instead he gave her a breathtaking smile. “I have never experienced anything like this either, my Zinnia,” he said softly. “What is it? Why do I feel so…” Her voice trailed off. She didn’t even have a word for it. “There is a… bond between us. But do not fear, whatever path we walk, we will walk it at your pace.”
I loved this book. It was bittersweet for me being the last in this amazing series. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Zinnia and Jaxx. It was such a beautiful, adventure romance. She had some demons to overcome, but he was so sweet with her, wanting to protect, care, and provide for her, that she grew more comfortable and trusting of her instincts. These two were so cute together and made a great team. I loved the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. The abandoned/empty world was fascinating. The story also had suspense, danger, and action. And as always, I was hooked. 5 stars
I really loved Zinnia, and Zaxx. I enjoyed her using his Stasis/Statue form, as a means to calm herself in a very frightening, and stressful situation. Talking to him, kept her thinking clearly, and he, in turn was soothed by her voice, and brought him back to himself. When the kidnapper, came to rape her, he was able to force himself out of Stasis, and rescue her. When they are able to escape, she begins a whole new adventure, and he quickly realized that she was his mate. The planet they crash on is full of hidden treasures, but also many dangers. So much happens in th story, I hated when I had to stop reading to do house work, and sleep. I recommend this, and all of this series. I highly recommend anything that Honey Phillips writes. Five stars, is never enough, in my opinion. She gives me so many hours, and days of such great stories! Trish. A.
Jaxx has been in 'stasis' for a long time. He's on a slaver's ship and his cell is where Zinnia is thrown after she was abducted. She finds some comfort talking to Jaxx/ the zombie about the terrifying world she is now in. I loved how he responded or woke up to her voice and that voice broke his stasis when she was in danger. The danger continues as they escape, land on an uninhabited planet and face even more challenges. The bad guys aren't giving up either. Honey is an amazing storyteller and I know I'm in for a great read when I get her books. Her characters and scenes are so well written, I feel like I am right in the midst of the story. When a writer can keep you lost in her imagination till the last page is turned, that is the author I want to read more of. I am sad we've reached the end of the alphabet in the Alien Abduction series, but I'm looking forward to what she gives us next.
This was a great conclusion for the A to Z series. Zinnia is lucky to have found Jaxx in the same holding cell as she was in. I mean being taken by aliens is one thing but having the golden warm statue that you have been have one sided conversations with for a while is one thing. Having that same statue come to life and save her at the exact moment she needed someone is another. Jaxx is from a thought long ago species. One that many thought was all wiped out. But in Zinnas case it is pure fate that she is able to trigger his release. I like that they are comfortable with each other. Her talking to him and him being aware helped so much. Their stay on an abandoned planet helps their relationship too. Their chemistry is off the charts like all Honeys couples. No one or no one to get in the way of their relationship. I love how this ends with a lead into a hopeful spinoff series. Cause leaving us with this ending is just wrong lol.
This was a bit of an unexpected cliffhanger - absolutely (hopefully) setting up for a new series that will explore this dangerously mysterious "Vault."
Zinnia is an aptly named florist who seems to have just fallen into many of her life situations. She becomes a florist after being taken in by one when she's orphaned. Then she's set on an adventure after escaping abduction. And the adventure she sets her sight on is one involving her new mate. It's tempting to say she doesn't have much agency, but I don't think that's quite the case. As Jaxx mentions on a few occasions, she has a very adaptable go-with-the-flow attitude. On earth, she may not have had many options, and got lucky when one crossed her path. After escaping abduction, she is presented with choices, pursuing the path that most calls to her and Jaxx.

This was a fabulous tale of loss, love and adventure. Our Zombie is a sweetheart and Zinnia is a sweet florist from a poor background. Both their lives were difficult and they fill each others void and needs perfectly. I love the way the author describes the reason behind Zinnia calling him her Zombie. Thank goodness he wasn't actually a Zombie! I don't watch anything with Zombies or read anything either. I just love this author, so I thought I'd give it a go. I was not disappointed. I also love how she connects all the characters in the same universe one way or another. I hope if you love Alien romance, that you start from the very beginning and read the whole series. I am also excited that she is starting another series that will be a spinoff of this world with the other characters that were left out so far! Can't wait! A +++ Kathy
Zinnia and the Zombie by Honey Phillips is the 26th in this amazing alien romance series. Zinnia is saved from captivity by what she thought was a gold statue but is actually a warrior in stasis for 100 years. They escape their captors, landing on a planet where they are surviving nicely and falling in love. Then monks arrive searching for Jaxx, perhaps the last of his kid, as the key to unlocking world domination. Escaping once more, they fall in with others who are trying to right the world ad begin their new lives together, searching for more of his kind. Hopeful we'll read more of their story soon.

This both a Yessss and a Nooooo response. I have adored this series however we know that there are only so many options when you have a finite number letters in the alphabet though each and every one is unique and that is the foundation of this author's skill.
To me this is very much a sort of switched sleeping beauty tale. It is a bit different as he is very much a silent presence to start with. Zinnia has been kidnapped and is keeping herself sane by talking to the statue who is as trapped as she is, that it until he isn't any more! Jaxx has been in stasis but Zinnia's presence has slowly filtered it's way through to mist. He comes back to himself just in the nick of time to protect her. The philosophy of one day at a time is a great one to work with if you can. Brilliant book.
Just like always, Honey Phillips does not disappoint. The love is romantic. Our FMC is strong and resilient. Watching them fall for each other was wonderful.
If I had one complaint about this book, it would be that I did feel a little bit like the end was setting up a lot of information for what is coming next, which was nice, but I wanted a little bit more of their relationship. I already know that I will pick up whatever Alien Romance she has coming next so I would have enjoyed a more detailed wrap-up of the whole series.
It was really nice to see all the characters from earlier series that were my favorites.
Last book in this series and it closes with a spicy and tender storyline. Zinnia is abducted from earth and placed in a cell. She finds comfort with a golden statue that she pours all of her thoughts, dreams and past memories into. When she is being attacked her statue comes to life and saves her, they both flee into a smaller ship and crash land on another planet. With trouble still looming they find shelter in the remains of an abandoned planet. Unfortunately their respite does not last for long and they will need to fight for their survival and love.

Quite honestly there were too many characters that were temporary. No opportunity to follow each character along the storyline. Ms. Phillips writing style has changed and lacks cohesiveness. I've enjoyed the A-Z characters and romances but this last book of the series was so confaluted it is not memorable. Ms. Phillips is well known for her talent with romances but recently her romances are not as enjoyable. I am not yet ready to give up on her and have hope she will bounce back soon.
Thanks to Amazon's Kindle Unlimited broad range of authors and genres that there are always new writers to try out their works.
This was such a beautifully written story full of heart and heat as well as suspenseful action. Zinnia was kidnapped by Ithyian slavers and is held captive next to Jaxx a Zathix commander who has been in stasis for many years. Zinnia mistakenly believes he is a statue, and fondly calls him her Zombie. Escape brings a new set of dangers, arrivals of old friends, and splashes of humor while you are wrapped up in the strong and endearing love story. Bravo Honey Phillips.

Human Zinnia has been abducted by alien slavers. On board their spacecraft she finds comfort in talking to what she thinks is a statue but in fact is an Zathix warrior named Jaxx. Jaxx has been is stasis recovering from wounds received long ago. But when Zinnia is threatened with harm Jaxx comes alive to protect her. This is the beginning of quite an adventure for Zinnia and Jaxx in the final book of this amazing series. Fated mate, steamy,.

I think it says something about me that when I read a human/alien romance I find it satisfying and realistic when the human fmc worries about sexual compatibility, sexual health, and possible pregnancy. Unfortunately, this was not that kind of book. 🙄 Why do I keep reading these?? Maybe because they're the ultimate in opposites-attract romance, and there's often a forced proximity aspect which is one of my favorite tropes. But I guess I want some realism in my space romances lol. Overall, not a bad book but it was too simplistic and the obstacles felt too easily resolved for my tastes.
What a perfect ending to this amazing series! Our Zombie, Jaxx, was so different from other heroes. Best part? He glows! And Zinnia is a florist from earth. I love the play with her name and her occupation. Phillips had me on the edge of my seat after our couple finds themselves hunted on an unknown planet. I had to out the book down and come back. Good suspense! There’s action, adventure, and a sweet love story inside. Jaxx is the ultimate protector and I adore how he loves on Zinnia. Don’t miss this one! 5 stars!
I LOVED this book, and as it is one of a long running, background storyline, series it more than matches up to my expectations. A heroine who is kidnapped by slavers, seems to be done to death, but not the way this story is written. Great characters and loved the storyline, I love this Author and she doesn't disappoint with this book.

Honey is one of my must-read alien sci-fi romance authors. I came to her books fairly recently though so have only read the last two in this now complete series. Each book is a standalone but previous characters appear in Jaxx and Zinnia’s story. Their romance was maybe background to the sci-fi action and was left open ended so I was glad to hear there will be more stories from this world – particularly Polly and Njkall’s. In the meantime, I have 24 books to go back and devour.
I've read all the books in this series, and they all have interesting aliens and strong human women. Honey Phillips writes with humor and compassion while keeping the action going on the battlefield and in the bedroom. I'd love to see Hollywood stop with the sci-fi remakes and pick any of the books in this series for a fun and feisty movie. I highly recommend this book and this series!
Zinnia had no idea a beautiful statue in a cage would change her life. This book had a wonderful adventurous feel with hostile aliens, abandoned worlds, predator like religious zealots, a rescue, a reunion, and plenty of passion. The scenery was well done but not overwhelming or dull. I fully enjoyed it. I'll buy the whole set in 2026. The hints of my favorites was also a great addition. Can't wait to see Bethie and Dar!
I love both of the MCs in this story. I love how strong and independent Zinnia is. I love that Jaxx is strong and protective, yet he also acknowledges and appreciates Zinnia’s abilities. The story has romance, intrigue, steam and a HFN. The only thing I wish was different was having an epilogue that was further in the future to know more of their future story.

What an innovated concept for a series. Start with A and end with Z. I enjoyed all the books in this series. This one had lots of action, adventure, danger and some very personal moments as we learned both their stories. And what a fitting ending by bringing in some characters from previous books. I am hoping they find more of his countrymen. Again, seven years in the making make this a special series. All with a HEA.
