True Royalty #1

Almost My Prince

Rate this book
Tabloids proclaim Sassandra “Sass” Wellborn has tamed The Playboy Prince from Maravista, a country between Italy and the French Riviera, near Monaco. That soon, she’ll “trade in her American passport to reign as the future Queen of Maravista.”

What?!

Sass knows the truth behind this tabloid tangle. It’s all a series of mix-ups caught on camera between her and the Crown Prince, and perhaps her slap, his wink, and a fashion doll—yes, a doll.

The prince, however, insists Sass belongs with him in Maravista. But Sass has law school in her future, if she can keep these tabloid rumors from ruining her chances.

But when Sass accepts a temporary job teaching Fashion Doll Design in Maravista, she somehow stirs up another royal rivalry between her new boss and the prince.

How will she handle these two men without causing even more scandal? Worse, the longer Sass stays in Maravista, the more she almost wants a prince after all.

Miranda craves exploring new places and tries hard to stay out of trouble in foreign countries. She once was "detained" at the British Parliament for traipsing into a restricted area.

Yes, there was that similar incident in Napoleon III's apartments of the Louvre Museum. But at the Vatican, well, she was just looking for a restroom when she stumbled into some private living quarters. As for the Versailles Palace, she honestly did not mean to get caught there long after closing time -- no, really, she didn't.

When not getting stopped by security, Miranda lives in southern California where she is hard at work on her next project -- or, shhh... procrastinating on Twitter.

I am not a usual Romance reader, but this book has Fashion Royalty dolls in it, so I HAD to read it. I am so glad I took the chance! It is a quick read -- the author really grabbed my attention from the get-go, and I could not put the book down! She created really interesting characters that I cared about. The main characters have wonderful chemistry, and the heroine has huge "rooting factor." The book is not ABOUT dolls, but the elements where the dolls enter are very well researched. It is something that is different, and I think it works very well. The author built such an interesting world, with so many fascinating characters, I hope this book is the first in a series -- I would certainly LOVE to know what happens next with all of them.

the author did such a great job in creating real and electrifying chemisrty between the two love interest....not wanting to give anything away because I hate when people do that......but the way they played off each other and the heat between them was crazy good!!! I was so caught up in the last chapter...the ending was perfect. Wow! I just can't wait to see what happens next. Hurry up please.

Book was good, like writing style, want more answers which I suspect the reader will get from the next book. Want more romance, want more adventure all in the same book! Your next book should be a blast now that the hard one is out of the way

Incomplete

There is not really an end to the story. It is not clear who the prince is and who is his family. For me the feeling was of a story with a feeling with lots of holes to be filled!

This book has it all. Family conflict, paparazzi gone wild, a European adventure and a really well written story that gets better page by page.

I liked it but I feel there should be more or another book. But book 2 doesn't continue Sass & Princeton's story. I think I pieced it together but would like answers.

The story was quite entertaining but I did not like that end so open. The author left me with too many questions and disappointed knowing that the next book is from a different couple and can be read independently.

Almost My Prince was a funtastic novel that managed to be both trendy and timeless. When royalty, Southern charm, paparazzi, and an exotic locale are mixed, pure entertainment happens.

I truly did have a lot of fun with Miranda King’s debut novel. I’ll admit that when I first began reading it, I thought maybe I had missed a previous book. We were dropped right into the action from page one. But as it progressed, I realized that it was meant to be that way, so we could figure out who everyone was and how everything fit together. Of course this made the pace quite fast, but it worked perfectly and was still realistic considering how much was going on in Sass’s life.

At first I wasn't sure this was the first book. You are literally plopped right in the middle of the action, which makes for a quick read. But I did go to Amazon probably three times to confirm this was book one.

As mentioned it was a quick read, I read it all in one night. The storyline flowed but I felt there were some flaws. Especially in the relationship between Michael and Sass. He did so much for her and she never once seemed grateful. I don't know maybe it's just me.

I did like the interactions between Sass and Princeton. Can't wait to see what happens next as there are still some unanswered questions and a mild cliffhanger.

in the beginning i wasn't quite sure about the story, took a couple of days and came back to it and read all the way through. i really enjoyed the story and i liked Sass' character. i didn't like Prince Michael, he's kinda arrogant and thinks whatever he wants he can get. Sometimes i liked Christian and other times i wanted to smack him. i got very caught up in the story and wanted for Christian to stop being a sometimes jerk and see that Sass loved him. then i got to the end and was thinking Yay!! then cliffhanger. i am anxiously awaiting what happens next, hope there is more.

I really enjoyed this story and the writing style by this author. I loved the witty dialogue throughout the book and the interaction of all the characters. I really enjoyed the heroine, Sass and her adventure in Maravista. The author captured my attention right from the beginning and I could not put the book down. The storytelling was fresh, fast paced and flowed seemlessly without missing a beat. I'm really looking forward to reading more stories by this wonderful new author.

I really liked this modern day fairy tale story of a young American woman who finds herself in a small, rich foreign principality teaching students in the two subjects she's passionate about, fashion doll dress design and law.

Does that combination sound crazy? Maybe, but Miranda King is a very fine writer who makes it all work. The hero too is interesting, nuanced, and with secrets that I expect will be made more clear in the sequel to this book. Hurry up, Miranda and get that out to us!

This book is so cool, and I'm glad I gave it a go, although I've been a bit sick with "prince and commoner" cliches. This doesn't feel like that cliche at all, and the author did a very very good job at warming things up. My only complaint: the cliff-hanger. I need the next story soon, or I'll go to Maravista and see them myself :)

3.5 Funny and Flirty but also contains undertones of power, possession and danger! Sassanadra (Sass), has friends in high places and the tabloids know it! Will their supposed expose keep Sass from fulfilling a death-bed promise?? Find out for yourself!

I'm really curious to find out who Christian aka Mr.Princeton is. He is definitely related to Prince Michael and Princess Divinia somehow. Maybe he is their cousin or stepbrother?

Definitely rooting for Christian and Sass together.

Giving this a 2 for the cliffhanger and disappointment that there has been no follow up book since after this book was released. It's been over a year already!!! The next book the author released is not even the next book in the series!!! Really disappointed and I hate cliffhangers :(

I hope that was just the beginning!

Sassy is funny and smart! I like Mr. Princeton because he is such a gentleman. These two have a very strong chemistry and the book is going up in flames. Assuming there will be a book #3

Sharp dialogue and engaging characters - these are my two must-have standards and Almost My Prince has both. I look forward to Miranda King's next book!

This book had great potential, but the author discredited herself with overuse of innuendo that cheapened her storyline. But if you're into cheap and skanky then this is the book for you.
