TBRL** I am going to order the hard copy of this. It’s too long to borrow in that amount of time in the library, plus I can write in my own copy!

While not a terrible devotional, I couldn't get past the misleading title. I felt like at least 80% of the book had to do with parenting and not growing together as a couple.

Pros:
1) short/manageable for daily use
2) good discussion points

Cons:
1) archaic view of women, "More moms need to make a career of busying themselves at home, and investing in their husbands and the next generation."

Not for us. Did not really like it. Many devotions regarding parenting.

This should’ve been called “Moments Together for Parents.” My husband and I are newly married and have no children, so roughly 2/3 of this book was not applicable to us, as it constantly asked us to review our marriage (with the implication we’ve been married for a long time) and discuss our children. That’s not even to mention some of the assumptions they make about married couples’ roles and that everyone wants children. Add all of that to the fact that Dennis constantly talks about his FamilyLife conferences, making this book feel like an incredibly long promotion instead of a guide to deeper conversations. Pass.

DNF. This should be called “Moments Together for Parents”. Too many of the devotions were about raising not just kids but teenagers, which doesn’t apply to Nathan and I at all. The Raineys also support a more old-fashioned version of marriage so I was constantly being told I needed to quit my job and just have a bunch of children. Also, shockers, I know, but husbands, did you know you can and should share your emotions with your wives?!

We didn't realize this book is more for parents who still have children at home, so much of it wasn't as applicable to a pair in their mid 60s as it would've been to younger parents. However, it was VERY well-done and thought-provoking. If you're a parent raising kids at home, it's a great Christian read and there are words in it to make you think. Read up, parents!

I've done many couples devotionals with my husband and this one was by far the best. We did this one a few times and it was ironic how the stories applied to whatever we were going through at the time. I think it could be useful at any stage in your life, especially if you have children at home! :)

Great for couples with kids. I am hoping to find a devotional for couples that integrates and addresses blended families. It is good mostly, there are some they seem like fillers, but overall good product.

My husband & I read this book together on our date nights. We still haven't finished reading all of them but they are daily devotions & they are perfect for getting us focused back on him. This book has helped us alot! :)

Super cheesy. Scripture was sparse. Mr. Rainey's perspective is kind of dated and sometimes comes across insensitive. Over 50% of the book had to do with being parents of older kids. Just over all not a huge fan.

James and I read this everyday the first few years of our marriage. Good tool. I am looking at it now and think we should read it again. It has been 10 years after all...

Perfect for my husband and I as newlyweds. It gives plenty of opportunities to open the door for topics that may be overlooked.

Some good stuff

A lot of good points to help with marriage and family. Mostly Scripture focused, addressed not just to the head but the heart.
