His interest in American frontier began after reading Little House on the Prairie. He is a director of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum in Mansfield, Missouri, and he lives and works as a teacher in Michigan.

Although the textual information in this book is very limited, the many photos and images make up for it. Simple sheet music is also part of this edition, which is helpful for anyone who would like to learn more about the songs sung by Laura and her family and the context in which they appeared.
