Reread review:
Now that I'm not so blinded by disappointment and sadness over the publishing company switching to an in-house artist, I can say the writing in this book is pretty much on par with the previous books. Seeing the same writers paired with a significantly inferior art style really makes one realize how much the art carried the stories in the last issues. However, the writing in this one simply doesn't feel as creative.
The plot centers around the ever-endearing Ian Van Kraken running into some bears and setting off a panic within the students. Of course, Vissia is behind it and Ruby is in cahoots with her. Nothing new. We get some real cute Vic and Pam moments, fun dialogue from the girls teasing each other, and okay-ish henchman threats. It's pretty fast-paced and it wraps up quickly. It's not very special and at this point, Vissia's plots need a bit of rejuvenation to maintain their interest.
I really cannot emphasize enough how much this story would get away with its failings if the art was done by the same team as before. I'm not saying I could draw this comic book, but I'm also not saying I couldn't. The settings are abysmal, the colors are drab, the designs are less appealing (save for Van Kraken with his big blue eyes), and though the characters all have the same personalities and character-writing, it's a massive downgrade anyway. We deserved to see Vic flirting with Pamela and being a good guy in 4K Ultra-HD.

Apparently the series changed artists after volume 4. I liked the old one better. Oh well. It's still nice how positive and earnest the stories are.

Fun story as expected from a Stilton book, BUT the artwork and color were subpar to what they usually are so I have to dock a star for this one. Its a children's book but that doesn't mean the art should suffer, especially since previous graphic novels in this same series were much nicer. Consistency please!

That's sad, because those graphic novels (The previous ones) were even better than the main novel Thea Sisters books. From here, the quality just dropped from an airplane, visually ans storywise, and it's not even worth reading anymore.

What happened to the old art style but oh well, the story was fantastic anyway.
