A story of a near-death experience and miraculous survival. “An eye-opening look into the heavenly realm. It will inspire you and build your faith!” (Doug Addison author of Understand Your Dreams Now). When a massive pileup on an Arizona highway caused Valerie Paters and her Jeep to be entombed beneath a semi truck in a blinding snowstorm, it seemed certain that her life would soon end. Once extracted from the mangled metal, and suffering from massive injuries, Valerie was hospitalized and placed on life support while doctors waited to harvest her organs. But Valerie was more alive than she had ever been. As she stood in the radiant presence of Jesus, He wrapped her into Himself, assuring her of His love and of the promise that heaven is only a breath away. Heaven Is a Breath Away is a thrilling firsthand account of the home that awaits Christians when they draw their last breath here on earth. With open arms, Christ welcomes to heaven those who belong to Him. Rarely has this vision been told in such exquisite detail. It will undoubtedly comfort those who have lost loved ones or are near death themselves. Heaven Is a Breath Away gives hope and encourages faith by sharing the heaven Jesus promised—a real place, magnificent in scope and beauty, permeated with iridescence, and alive with divine energy and love. “Transcending pain and loss, the inspiring message of being caught between heaven and Earth and between hope and healing is a must-read—truly a gem to be treasured.” —Jimmie Sue Woelke, speaker, president, A Voice in the Wilderness Ministries
I really enjoyed her description of Jesus and how He expressed His love for her. When she visited heaven, she was overwhelmed by the depth of Jesus' love for her. Here is my favorite quote from Valerie's part of the book. "Physically, I was still a mess. Every square inch of me screamed in pain. But, Jesus loved me. He really loved me. Knowing that overwhelmed all else. When finally I could whisper something, all I wanted to say was 'Jesus loves me. He really loves me.'" (page 103-104)
O read the book before I said.My prayers and went to be. I felt so.close toJesus
I always read books about people who.have died and ca!me.back. In fact it happened to.My sister in law. I have recommended this book to my daughter as she's interested in books like this. I told her it was very inspirational and I liked how it was written with both Valerie's and Cheryl's experiences.
This book gives so much hope. We don’t understand why God allows difficult things in our lives but He will take our story and exchange it for a testimony. His Word says he will never leave us or forsake us. That He is always there for His children. This book offers great hope about the Father’s love.
I heard Valerie speak a few years back. I believe this was a real experience for her. I don't currently have a copy because I keep giving them away to friends and family when they have lost a loved one.
Heaven is a Breath Away was a truly inspirational listen. Valerie is a strong woman whose faith never really wavered. Through her painful surgeries as a child as well as being treated differently, she maintained her belief that Jesus was there for her.
He never left but he was there when she needed him the most. At times it was hard to listen to the struggles Valerie went through but I found myself rooting for her as she slowly came back from the other side. I liked listening to her encounter with Jesus while there. I believe her story 100% and have heard where others have experienced this. This was such an enlightening listen.
Amanda Fugate-Moss did an amazing job with Valerie's story. It seemed like it was her speaking. She was the perfect reader with excellent vocal skills.

I love reading (or listening) to stories about Heaven and what people have gone through to be able to tell their stories. Heaven is a Breath Away is a beautiful story of one woman's journey after being in a horrific car accident. Her description of Jesus and of Heaven was so heartwarming. Valerie Paters and Cheryl Schuelke did an amazing job writing the story.and Amanda Fugate-Moss did a beautiful job narrating. I was given a copy of this audio book from the author, publisher or narrator in exchange for an honest review.
Such a beautifully told story of Valerie's journey to Heaven and back. I was so enthralled with all of the descriptions and feelings that Valerie has as she journeys to Heaven after her car accident. You will feel blessed after listening to such a caring and thoughtful account of an amazing journey.
