Many people had warned us and said it was too dangerous to enter Afghanistan, but we knew that if we would not go into a country where we were recruiting people to serve, we had no right to recruit them.

Steve Goode and Marie Bentley, high-school sweethearts from Tennessee, couldn't have imagined all they would see through multiple decades of service to the poor and oppressed. Never shying away from God's call, they have served in refugee camps and war zones and lived through personal illnesses and struggles. As long-term leaders of Youth With A Mission's mercy ministries and efforts against human trafficking in Southeast Asia and beyond, Steve and Marie have brought healing and hope to thousands of people and continue to inspire others to do the same.

Bring your Eyes and See follows Steve and Marie Goode as they go on an amazing, God-led adventure from Switzerland to Seoul, from Afghanistan to Thailand and so many more places. This couple feels God’s strong pull on their life as they get a heart for so many things but usually in the realm of those who are struggling here on earth the most, the refugees and modern day slaves. The call to action pushes you to figure out where you can serve and to get up and do it.
The writing is a little slow at times and the many many people are very hard to keep track of but it is also a testament to how many people God worked in through this amazing couple.

Story of Steve Good and his wife and how they developed many different ministries in Thailand and beyond. Especially interesting to read how they organized the refugee camps near the border of Cambodia and how all the work they did there enabled them to set up a lot of first aid after the tsunami hit on Christmas 2004.

CAN.
One word that I believe Steve and Marie Goode have used as they have overcome countless odds as they have served, rescued and empowered thousands upon thousands of people in their lives is the word 'can'. The central message of this book is to see the need and ask God how to meet it. Their lives are a testimony to the fact that we - you and me - CAN do, CAN overcome, CAN make a difference in the world we live in. I have been inspired by this book to see the need and not think - oh, well I am not educated enough, I am not...'whatever'.... enough to make a difference, but to do the one thing that's set right before us. It's simple. Read story after story of how Steve and Marie have made a difference across the world.

This book will give you goose bumps. Expect to be inspired! And to take action, because we CAN have an impact on the poor and poverty stricken in our communities across the globe.

A beautiful story of what a life surrendered to God can look like. Steve and Marie Goode said yes to God and the adventures He took them on led them around the world to the poorest regions, to serve the lost and forgotten. It challenged me to say yes to the small things as they add up to big things. Loved it!
