A sparkling Christmassy tale that will make your heart melt.
Mel Tinsall knows that if she’s going to get through this manic first year at college, and be a good mum to her baby daughter Lou Lou, she can have no distractions. And after what happened last time she’s sworn off men for a very long time.
But then she meets Will.
He’s different. He’s special.
But Mel has a secret.
Christmas is coming and romance is blossoming. As the first snow snow falls over the village of HOPE CHRISTMAS, it’s time to make a choice…
Sweet! A very fitting end to a “trilogy + short story” collection revolving around the villagers of Hope Christmas, a small town in Shropshire, England. This little story is about the relationship that develops between two 18-year-olds, Will and Melanie. It can stand alone, but is far more impactful if read after the trilogy in which we follow Melanie from age 11 to 18. A lot is packed in this 56-pager. The tale is told from the alternate perspectives of Melanie and Will who are both withholding major secrets from the other; both must come clean for the relationship to have a chance. The story is very engaging, and the ending had me cheering. Well done, Ms. Williams!
I loved being able to go back and revisit the Tinsall family and the town of Hope Christmas. Julia Williams really delivers when it comes to Christmas books!
"I'm going to grab some magic and keep it to myself."
I was a little uncertain at first - young characters in their first year at college, perhaps not quite the story for me? But I needn't have worried - Julia Williams is a quite lovely writer, and even with such a short story (69 pages) I became thoroughly tied up in the problems of Mel and Will. The characters were really well developed considering the length of the story, the problems real and well drawn - and the ending appropriately feel-good for the season. Really recommended for a pick up and put down read when you're planning your reading for next Christmas.
Having already reading Coming Home For Christmas and loved it, I was pleased to see this was the story of Mel and Will, who is introduced during Coming Home For Christmas, and sees the events of the full book, in the 2 teenagers eyes.
It was a short story, but was a great insight into Mel and Will's personality's and I'm really hoping that there will be more books written about the Tinsall's and about Hope Christmas in general.
A short sweet cozy for Christmas. A teenage mother and a boy serving as parent for his teenage sister, are both trying to retake their A Levels whilst juggling all their family issues but keeping the separated. What nether counted on was falling for each other.
I didn't realise that this book was part of a series and now I can't wait to read the others! This was a very sweet Christmas read and all turns out well in the end!! I love how the writing style alternates between the two main characters and I loved both of them!!
Easy to read e-short which was very descriptive and absorbed you into the moment, such as saying about the silence only snow can bring, which made me think how peaceful it is when snowing.
