Review

Wow, now I know what the fuss was all about. I can't believe just how good this story is and me giving it 5 stars, feels like ages since I've done that. Duke is really a must read!

It all starts with Nicole being given to the Fallen Motorcycle Club as collateral, since her sorry excuse of a father pushed into his mess yet again. Waiting for her father to pay his debt, she starts helping out in the club, first as a bartender and latter on also as a fantastic cook. Of course, while she's there she meets Duke, who is the VP for Fallen MC. Soon the sparks fly and their chemistry cannot be denied any longer.

What I absolutely loved about Duke is that we can see how his obsession and protection for Nicole starts to grow and at a fast speed, too. In just a matter of days he's completelly over the moon for her. Also, he really tries to keep his promises and be everything she needs. Not to mention his caveman-like behaviour when Nicole is .
And as for Nicole, my heart hurt for her. From her horrible father, the crazy jealous club bitches and the rival MC the girl really doesn't has it easy. I'm so glad she's found someone as great and worthy of her love as Duke and his (her) family at Fallen MC.
The secondary characters are also amazing and I can't wait to read their stories.

For such a short read, Duke has it all. The action, angst, romance, betrayal, loyalty and an amazing epilogue. Duke is trully a read worth reading. :D

For Nicole, half of her life has been her being held as collateral for her father. No matter what, Nicole has maintained a relationship with him believing he honestly cared in some way. Now she has been kidnapped and is collateral for the Fallen MC. Nicole knows to keep her nose clean, do what work they need, and hope her father gets her out of their quick.

Duke is the VP of the MC and something about Nicole is driving him crazy. She is a beauty, but sleeping with her could cause some problems. Nicole knows important details about a rival MC that need information on and Nicole doesn't come across as an easy lay. If he haves her for one night, he will have to make it clear she is not open game. However, Duke quickly realizes one night is not enough and he doesn't believe he will ever be able to get her out of his system.

Loved loved loved it. Duke is yummy, he is arrogant, bossy, and once he decides Nicole is his it is explosive. Nicole is a survivor, she handles what comes her way but you can also sense her fear. Exceptional read, if a MC lover this is a reread keeper.

This was a pretty sweet story. Hero falls hard and is both possessive and sweet. You get to see them after they get together. Typical club drama, some shocking family drama. Really liked the heroine. I enjoyed the book, it was just not a great book.

Sweet epilogue.

It was an ok biker book. There wasn't an emotional connection between Duke and the heroine. He sees her, and thinks she's hot. She sees him and thinks he's hot. They get together right away.

I also didn't like how the members belittled the club "sluts" even though they were banging them all the time and calling them skanks. If they're skanks, then so are all of you.

I don't see how it is possible to SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT be pregnant with triplets naturally (I realize this happens without in vitro fertilization, but it's rare) and then vaginally deliver all 3 triplets by yourself, before anyone can call the ambulance and have the ambulance get there. So she delivered 3 babies in less than 15 minutes? I'm guessing on the time.

I'll probably check out the Musketeers' book when it's released (how do 3 bisexual bikers handle things?) just because I'm curious.

I was originally going to 2⭐this but after reading a couple after this… I’ll round it up because I actually got through it fairly entertained… BUT… I really think the short length had a lot to do with it. Duke is an OTT, sometimes silly, sometimes cheesy, always unbelievable, not gritty, MC romance.

This is an instant-love situation, and you’ll need to get onboard with some unrealistic stuff. Nicole, is an enigma, she’s smoking hot and stacked… she also has a loser dad that has used her as collateral for his shady business dealings since she was 6 years old. Basically, she's been kidnapped and held captive multiple times to encourage her dad to repay his debts. It appears that aside from being roughed up by a previous mc club, she’s never been mistreated or raped during these multiple stays in villain lairs. The book opens with her being picked up by the Fallen MC where she’s to spend a few weeks cooking and cleaning before dear old dad pays them back. She soon runs into Duke and sparks fly.

Bottom Line- This reads like soapy-trash mc-lite. It’s a really quick read filled with smut, likable secondary characters, and drama-llama from club skanks, a rival mc, and her deadbeat dad. I didn’t find it serious at all, and some of the things were so unrealistic that it felt silly. For example, Nicole’s backstory was unbelievable, add in her glow in the dark emerald eyes with her natural attributes… and things were getting comical. Add in that she got … and it was ridiculous.

Safety- H has a BJ (not graphic) at the beginning of the book with a club girl. He’s seen the h, she hasn’t seen him, and they haven’t spoken.

This wasn't bad although there was nothing new, I've read this sort of plot so many times. That said, I liked both characters, loved that the h had no TSTL moments and the H was a hot alpha male. What boggled my mind was that they

The book could have been hugely improved with an edit. It wasn't good, and detracted from my reading enjoyment. When your and you're are not used correctly it does my head in. It's basic grammar..... YOU'RE is a contraction of you are. If you cannot expand it to you are in your sentence, then it is wrong. YOUR, on the other hand, sits before another word (usually a noun or a pronoun) to show that it belongs to "you" (e.g., your car, your arm).

2.5 stars which would have been 3.5 with tighter editing and writing.

One of my favorite MC novels.
I didn't know what to expect since the last few MC books I have read have scored a 2-3 from me, so this was definitely a surprise!
I loved both the heroine and hero, another surprise.
Nicole's dad is a eff up! A huge eff up!! He has been putting his daughter Nicole in danger too many times, he is some go to guy for MC's and each time he effs up and doesn't pay up Nicole becomes collateral.
This time though things a bit different, the MC isn't so bad, and the VP "Duke" is hot, alpha and a badass.
Once Duke sees Nicole she is HIS! No ifs, and whats about it!
And once he claimed her there is no back for Nicole, but then daddy dearest comes to rescue six months too late..

Have I mentioned that I really really loved it?
SO worth it!
Recommend? Heck yes!

HEA: 5/5 – Excellent!!

Best Quote: h to H: “I’ve never belonged to anybody.”

Worst Quote: H’s thoughts: “He sure as fuck wasn’t looking to be her baby daddy, still, he’d needed her raw. Nothing in the way. It wasn’t the first time he’d gone bareback but he didn’t do it often.”

Personal Review:
A good MC romance read but not the best one I’ve read

Nicole has been kidnapped by the MC and held as ‘collateral’ because of her stupid father’s debt and mistakes. Nicole is an old hand at the whole ‘being kidnapped for debt’ thing so she took it in her stride. Duke is the head MC bosses sidekick (I forget what the sidekick is called in a MC!). Duke was overprotective, abrasive, sweet and hot!

Random Ramblings:
I really liked the ‘three musketeers’!
The way Duke looked after Nicole after the incident made me melt!
LOVED LOVED LOVED the triplet pregnancy

I really didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. It started out great then it got a bit slow and then it picked up again and the last 15% or so was kinda cray but it finished on a high for me. There was one or two wtf moments but overall an enjoyable read. The main characters were likeable and the supporting characters were awesome - I'm hoping we get to see Slam, Razor and the Musketeers feature in their own books. Actually, I also wouldn't mind the triplets Anarchy, Justice & Riot getting their own spin-off series :) there were a few editing issues but it didn't bug me. No cheating. Standalone.

2.75 RATING-Once again, I'm in the minority here but this was just okay for me. There was much more potential but unfortunately the book failed to deliver. Poor editing didn't help. I'm not a stickler when it comes to grammer and errors but too many mistakes become distracting. I think this could have been a stronger guilty pleasure read with a little editing and cleaning up. Still, I am tempted to read the next book in the series. A MC/Biker Triad in search of a fourth? Did they find her in the damsel they resuce? Can we expect a MMMF menage next? Should be interesting. Hopefully, the next book is cleaned up a little bit.

This was a surprising hit for me. I picked it up not expecting much and ended up really enjoying it.

It was about Nicole whose ahole father uses her as collateral for a debt owed to the Fallen MC club. While at the club she meets the club VP Duke. They feel the instant attraction and fall for each other. There is OW drama with a club chick and some drama with another club and the heroines father too. It is low angst and leans toward more insta love theme. I feel this is one that is more biker lite so the drama is kept to a minimum. But for me it was a overall enjoyable read.

Damn, I first have to rage. Because f***. Nicoles father is a piece of s***. Do those things to her when she was a little is bad enough, but then go and do THAT. And then AGAIN! OMFG! Argh. Someone just give me a gun, I'm going to kill, that son of a b***h after I beat him to death.

But lets go to the begining.

Nicole ends up in Fallen MC as collateral, because her father owns them money (The f**ker! Give me a gun. Now!). It's not her first trip like this. So, she knows that she shouldn't show any fear and weaknes. She stand strong before club. Which makes them accept her more than theirs collateral. She's funny, sweet, friendly, brave and sincere with them. No hidden agendas. She earns their respect. She become one of them.

Nicole meets there Duke, VP of Fallen MC. He raises inside her feelings she never felt before. She wants him. Wants him to help her fulfill her dream, she had for a long time. To have a reall family.

Duke is...Well, he's typical biker. Loves brotherhood of the club, free live, free ride and free pu**y. He never wanted to settle down. To have old lady. But that changes when he meets the stunning green eyes owner. He wants her. And she will be his.

I love Duke. Though he tries at first fight these unkwon before feelings, he goes and gets what he wants at the end. And accepts that to say those three words isn't that hard. Nicole is his everything. Before her, the club was his first choice. Always. But now, his priority is Nicole.

I love Nicole. She's really strong and amazing character. What I'm annoyed with her about is her d*utcheb*g of a father. She never cut the ties. Even if he always chosen his own a** to safe, instead of his daughter. She didn't wanted to be alone in the world. But now she had Duke & theirs A, J and R (Don't worry. You will understand what I mean when you read this book.). So, Nicole knows she has to cut the ties with her father, if she want to start a new and happy life. Because her father would never change.

Which leads to my bristle at the begining. I still can't believe he did IT. And two times! Her own father. I could rave and storm about it for hours. I probably would be much calmer if I could shot him. After beating him to death of course.

Christ, just read this book. Go find out everything I missed to say. Be ready to be captivated by Duke, be in fury when u get to the parts about Nicoles father, be charmed by Musketeers and other club members.

After the last MC book I read I was thinking I might lay off for awhile. I had one fall into my lap that looked promising with an average 4.09 rating on GR. I did keep my expectations low. It wasn’t bad. It did have a plot that been used countless times though. Nicole, the h, is taken as collateral by The Fallen MC for debts her asshole Dad owes. Duke, VP of the club falls for her (kind of an insta-love moment but not as bad as it could have been), as does the entire club. Club whores cause major issues, a rival club is being difficult, her Dad continues to be a douche. It’s a book that’s been written before and it was fairly easy to predict each little crisis. That being said, I didn’t hate the book. At times, I even liked it.

Nicole was a pretty decent h. She didn’t panic when she woke up after being abducted. She knew the system and played things smart. Her only TSTL action was not distancing herself from her Dad, but it’s understandable since he is her only family.

Duke was hot, alpha, and had no problem using the club whores until he started things up with Nicole. He never really had any alpha asshole moments so that was kind of refreshing. I did have one WTF moment

It had a great epilogue and a couple setups for future books. It wasn’t the Holy Grail of biker books I’ve been looking for by a long shot, but it didn’t make me want to throw my iPad either. I’ll take that as a win.

Since book 2 is finally out, I decided to do a re-read of this one before tackling book 2. After all, it's been over 3 years since I read it. Funny how time changes your perspective. While the story of Duke and Nicole is still overall pretty good, the many editing errors just jumped out at me. I would still recommend it to lovers of MC romance. Moving on to the second book now.

I read this book with the Kindle Unlimited program thinking it would be just another cookie cutter MC romance and not a keeper. I was wrong. The usual theme of the daughter of an enemy MC president being held as collateral has been played out in many books. The author took that theme and drew me into the developing relationship between Nicole and Duke and I didn’t want the story to end. The heroine is strong and has some backbone. There are some quite interesting characters that I look forward to reading about. I like the author’s writing style and her ability to draw you into the feelings and lives of the characters but most of all make you wish the book had been just a little bit longer. Great love story. I will definitely be reading the next one in the series.

May Contain Spoilers!!!

This was an ok read . For a biker book it wasn't too bad. Duke and Nicole were good together! I loved how possessive and alpha Duke was. Nicole was great too she can definitely hold her own! Loved the babies and epilogue:)

safety: H has a scene with a club slut who is giving him a bj! It's not too detailed. At this point he hasn't met h just seen her walk through the club quickly. That's it though. Some other woman drama. OW trys to make trouble and hurts h (physically) but that is resolved. This is the same girl who gave him a bj and has had sex with H and other bikers in the past.H doesn't believe anything she says and gives her what she deserves. h seemed like she had a healthy sex life before. nothing is detailed. H of course was a manwhore. H has mention he has had sex before with no condom.which for me is nasty!!!!! especially if it was with the club sluts!

BUT!!!

the writing style wasn't for me.. too descriptive and little dialogs.. also why you won't leave your father when he puts you in the same situation again ageing and again, I mean you promised it to yourself and your mom but damn girl... so it was okay and maybe I'm going to read next one...

This was a very tame light read book with all the feel good qualities. Sweet, true love, hearts and flowers blah.. blah..blah I wanted to puke. Very predictable with a solid storyline foundation. Just because I didn't care for it doesn't mean you won't fall in love with it! You may decide its an excellent book, so on that bases alone I'd say give it a chance.

I enjoyed this motorcycle club romance. It held my attention and I liked main characters Duke and Nicole. Their romance is fast burn but believable. As with most MC romances, the club whores are catty but the ones in this book take it further. One in particular has her eyes set on Duke and is determined to get rid of Nicole. She's clueless to the fact that Duke has no interest in her and just used her for one purpose. In her bid to get rid of Nicole she leads the club whores in ganging up on Nicole but they end up getting what's coming to them. There's also some family drama. Let's just say that Nicole has a really shitty dad.

Overall it's a good read. I liked Duke's MC brothers, particularly Slam and the Musketeers. I'm curious to read their stories.

Overall Opinion: This was actually pretty light for a mc romance. Don't get me wrong -- there is still some violence and typical mc stuff, but it just was overall a pretty easy read. I think what made me give such a low rating was I wanted to feel their connection more. There are some major time jumps that I think might've been beneficial for the reader to know more about what happened during those times . I think I wanted to experience more of the relationship development instead of just being told it happened.

Storyline: This is Nicole and Duke's story. Nicole's dad has once again screwed up, and she now finds herself being held collateral for the fallen mc. This is where she meets Duke, and the sparks fly immediately. Duke isn't the type to sleep with a woman more than a few nights, but there is something he can't shake about Nicole -- and luckily Nicole feels the same way. They start up a relationship, and some strong feelings start to grow. There is some typical mc drama, some major club whore drama, a BIG surprise, and some family drama...but they do eventually find their HEA.

POV: This was told in third person narrative with alternating the focus between Nicole and Duke.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I'm not sure why, but I seem to always find myself skimming in mc books when they talk about the mc drama. I did that in this one, but I don't think it was because it was poorly written/edited -- it is probably just me. I would call this instalust and not instalove.

H rating: 4 stars. Duke. i liked how he only had eyes for the h once she walked in his life, and he wasn't scared to act kind of mushy around his brothers after he claimed her.

h rating: 4 stars. Nicole. I appreciated how she didn't let things get her down even when she was constantly screwed over by her Dad, and I liked how she dealt with the club whores.

Sadness level: Low. I didn't need the tissues for this one.

Heat level: Moderate. They do get pretty steamy.

Descriptive sex: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM:

Cheating:

Possible Triggers:

Closure: This had a short but sweet epilogue, that I would say they have a HEA ending.

Worth the $?: It is part of kindle unlimited, so yes. At the $2.99, I'd say probably.

July 2022 = DNF'd

A Generic MC Romance

The writing is mediocre and the plot is crude and ridiculous.

The MMC is super hot and treats all women like trash until he finds someone special, who's not like all the other club skanks. (In the beginning he uses a woman for a quick blowjob, and then walks away leaving her on her knees.)

The FMC is super hot and super special. She's unlike all the other club sluts who are only good for pussy.

She intrigued him, there was something different about her that he couldn't quite pinpoint.

The truth was that he was drawn to her for no good reason other than she was the sexiest bitch to ever walk through this club. There was definitely something else about her though that pulled at him and he kept trying to figure out what it was.

Maybe it was the innocence and fear he could see her trying to hide behind her eyes. Innocence certainly wasn't a trait this club had seen in a while and wasn't easily faked.

Some of club sluts entered, sounding like a flock of screeching birds and drew his eyes to the door. There sure was no innocence left in those bitches. Trashy, every last one of them. Ideal for a quick f'ck.

He couldn't take his eyes off the scene, the difference between Nicole and the sluts was very apparent. Even though Nicole was showing plenty of skin, she out-classed these bitches by miles and they knew it too.

💋 She knew with her long legs and big boobs she attracted men.
💋 Nicole looked like a wet dream personified.
💋 The bitch was stunning and she hadn't even been trying to make an effort.

⊙⊙...Nicole’s tits were bigger, fuller and more perky without a bra than Helen’s were with...

I DNF'd at 15%: 🤢
She'd have to get to a bathroom, fast, because she was pretty sure her juices had soaked through her shorts. In her room, she pressed her hand between her thighs to try and stop the throbbing. She was slick with juices and he'd only touched her for a second.

great book. i'm not a grammar nazi usually but i noticed quite a number of spelling errors throughout the whole book. the only thing that really bothered me was the 'your' thing. i think authors are supposed to be able to differentiate between 'you're' and 'your' haha. other than that, it was good. this book had a little bit of going on but mc books are my guilty pleasures so i guess i'm okay with that. and i love a good epilogue.

4 DUKE STARS

Good story with lots of heat and drama. I liked the main characters very much~ Duke is HOT and Nicole knocks him for six. He is loyal, possessive and badass. How scrumptious!
Excellent first book in what looks to be a promising series. The Musketeers, Slam and Razor have my interest for sure.
Why not 5 stars? Grammar ~ it needs a good edit. Also, the incident with the club sluts made me a bit uncomfortable.
Otherwise, really good book that I couldn't put down.

Liked it

I liked this book. I also enjoyed the storyline. This is the first in the series. I kinda wish the characters interacted a little more as a group. I liked the humor and all the characters. The Helen situation was kinda anticlimactic and felt unfinished. Also, I really wish in the epilogue she wouldn’t have given us what had already happened in the next books. I mean why read it when she mentions everyone that everybody’s with. Just a thought for future epilogues.
