After a proposal she never wanted implodes her life, Toni Devereaux takes the first—and farthest—opportunity to flee the wreckage. Cillian O’Sullivan has had a good run avoiding anything that looks like chaos, connection, or fun. But the gorgeous redhead who walks into his bar knocks something loose in him.
When he impulsively bets he can make her fall in love with Boston, promising to help her move anywhere she wants if he loses, neither of them is sure which outcome they’re hoping for.

Unreasonably Yours is a raw, funny, and deeply tender romance about second chances, found family, and falling—unreasonably—for the people and places that feel like home

I absolutely flipping adore the crap out of this book.

The characters and dialog feel so real.

I love that Toni's size is clearly known but it's not a hurdle that needs to be overcome and as the book goes on it isn't specifically mentioned more but I was still able to picture her accurately and didn't slip back into the default of a small MFC. I don't know if that happens to other readers but I find it happens to me a lot where I have to keep adjusting my mental picture when I remember they where described as plus size. I can't pinpoint why Toni was able to be so easily imagined for me but whatever Charlotte Jean did worked perfectly.

I love the casual representation in this of bi, gay, non-binary, and trans people. It was never a plot point just a reality of having a more diverse set of friends than you usually read about.

Wonderful depiction of grief and mental health struggles and supporting your friends through it.

The connection between Toni and Cillian during the spicy scenes was perfect and incredibly hot. It's the kind of spice I live for in my romance/smut.

When I got to the end I wanted more and was a tiny bit sad. Then I swiped to see any acknowledgements and there was an epilogue! I actually cried a bit I was so happy. I have never been so happy to have an epilogue in my life.

I had an ARC of this but I have already pre-ordered it to support the author because I love it so much. Most books I read are audiobooks or Ebooks but a few times a book will be so good I buy a physical copy to go in my collection. If/when there is a physical version of this book available I am buying it to add to my bookshelf.

I will start this review by taking my glasses off, and wipe the tears from my eyes 🥹

Holy …. a masterpiece! I don’t even know where to start. This book was so easy to read! Not because it’s boring or the story is predictable. But because it’s so well written! In some books it can be confusing and even hard to get to know the different characters, but not in this one. I honestly felt like I knew them right away! No confusion or “who is he/she/they?” “Where did they come from?” or moments where I had to go back a few pages to remind myself who everyone was or what they were doing. It was just easy to fall into the world of Somerville.

Cillian and Toni? Gosh.. I can’t. They’re so GOOD. Just read the book! 🌪️

Although, please read the trigger warning before reading. There is some heavy sh..t happening at some point

Edit: I received this book as an ARC reader, but this is 100% my honest opinion! 🫶🏼

First off, I want to thank the author for the ARC of this book. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this and did so in like 4 days 🤯

This story is so good & so important. I will say, there are some heavy topics, so read those trigger warnings, but I thought those topics were very well written.

The main characters are both wonderful in their own ways. Toni is a plus size, strong, secure & empowered woman. She’s wonderful. I saw a lot of myself in her and that was a pleasant experience. Cillian is a family oriented, combat veteran in recovery with a hint of golden retriever meets German shepherd energy. He’s a fucking delight. The spice is also a nice touch 🥵

The supporting characters add life, color & beauty to this story. There is mental health representation, substance use recovery discussion, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and a found family.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a quick/light read packed with real emotions, queer and plus size representation and characters to fall in love with. After a marriage proposal she didn't want the MFC moves across the country to get away from her ex, for some space and basically to find herself. What she finds instead is a group of friends we would all be so lucky to have, an amazing man to share her life with, and freedom to live her life how she wanted. She just needed the right man who wanted the same.

The characters in this book are what really makes the book stand out. There's no crazy plot twists or jump scares, this book is about its characters. And not just the main two. The side characters have their moments as well. And everyone goes through it in their own way. In the good and bad. This book deals with addiction, loss, finding yourself, navigating in a world where society states you're not invited, exploring new parts of yourself, and allowing love to fill up your life without losing yourself.

With how much I did enjoy this, there were a handful of things that stuck out to me that I wasn't a fan of as well. The spice was there and some scenes were great, but a lot were incredibly rushed. Like he pushes in, a couple thrusts and moans and they done. Was a little disappointed. Especially cause we have this fierce plus size main character! I wanted her and her big beautiful body to be put through the wringer! Also there was a MASSIVE overuse of pet names. It was incredibly repetitive and took me out of the scenes a lot. And overuse of any word makes the use not as meaningful and impactful. I dont know if authors think they need to have a pet name/honorific quota in each book. But it is often more overwhelming and frustrating, than meaningful or hot. There were also some moments in the book that felt very disjointed. Like we as the reader didn't know how much time passed since the last scene. And finally the ending was really rushed. The climax happened (a miscommunication) and then it was "I love you", then "The End" and the epilogue. I would have loved a little more of them together before the epilogue.

All in all, this is a great book. The bones are there, though I do think it could have used more fleshing out and development. But with this only being the authors second book, she is still finding her voice and words and I think in no time at all that will happen. Incredibly excited to see what the author has in store for us next!

Arc Review: Bravo to Charlotte Jean! Her book, Unreasonably Yours, was an absolute masterpiece in chaotic feelings and cutesy romance. I loved every minute of this read. I related to Toni, I know how it feels to be told you’re too much, too loud to a point where you try to dim and change who you are to make yourself more appealing to others. I applaud the way Charlotte broaches this topic and the way she shows how the people around you make all the difference.

This book includes themes of neurodiversity, ptsd, LGBTQ+, addiction, emotional abuse and suicide. Check your triggers.

This book? Unreasonably good. 😭✨
From the very first page, I clicked with the characters like they were already old friends. Charlotte Jean has created a cast so beautifully queer, messy, raw, and real, it felt like I was wrapped in the warmest, weirdest found family hug. It’s heartfelt, hilarious, tender, and brimming with so much care. A huge thank you to the author for gifting me my very first ARC.

ARC reading ✨

The title says it all really. I absolutely adore this book. To start with, Toni is such an engaging FMC. She's raw and messy and unapologetic, with bonus plus size AND bi rep. Like, realistic, POSITIVE plus size rep. Tbh I was half in love with Toni myself when I started reading. And Cillian, oh my goddd. Man of my dreams honestly, plus he's a tea guy. Looks like a bad boy but is really a big sweetheart and is also bi! Bi4Bi rep is such a rare thing to find but is something I love to read as a bi person myself. To make this love story even more of a gem, they're both over 30 which is also hard to find.

Besides having two very loveable leads, the found family trope was strong with an equally interesting supporting cast. I would love to read more about Oliver and Lucy too.

The spice scenes are the icing on top of this delicious cake - perfectly spicy, plus you can really feel the passion and love Toni and Cillian have for each other.

Overall 5 stars, will be reading again.

I received an ARC from the author, this is my honest review.

This book got me. I laughed, I teared up, I highlighted like crazy. Charlotte Jean really understood the assignment: give us a story about healing, about coming home to yourself, and about being loved exactly as you are—messy, loud, soft, scared, hopeful.

I’m always going to be here for a fierce, complex, plus-size heroine who knows who she is and doesn’t apologize for taking up space. Toni is that girl. From the opening pages, I was rooting for her. She’s guarded (with good reason), but she’s also creative, bold, funny, and so deserving of softness. Watching her reconnect with her art and her joy after walking away from a life that wasn’t hers? I felt that deeply.

And Cillian?? Whew. He’s the quiet, steady, "I will ruin my life for you" kind of hero I never get tired of. From the moment he sees Toni, he’s gone. And his friends and family just know and gently nudge him in her direction without teasing or pushing. What I loved about Cillian, though, is that he isn’t just there to support her healing. He’s on his own journey too.

Cillian’s been living a very contained life, running his bar, showing up for his people, but not really letting anyone in. He’s been shaped by grief, responsibility, and years of putting his own needs last. Meeting Toni cracks something open in him. She challenges him, sees past his quiet surface, and gives him space to want more for himself, not just for others. There’s something really beautiful about watching him not only fall in love, but also let himself be known. That takes just as much courage.

Their slow-burn chemistry is so well done. The banter, the tension, the way they see each other. I honestly would’ve loved the intimate scenes to be a bit more built out to match the emotional depth of their connection, because the spark? It was there. That physical tension deserved a little more room to breathe.

One thing that really stood out to me was how Charlotte Jean wrote about the plus-size experience with such care and intention. Toni isn’t just plus-size in name. We feel the details—like the barstools in Cillian’s bar being fat-friendly. That moment? I felt that. Those are the kinds of choices that show how deeply seen and considered plus-size readers are in this story.

I also really appreciated how this book handled trauma and healing with so much care. Toni’s past—abuse, grief, PTSD—is never sensationalized. It’s part of her, but it doesn’t define her. And the found family and community elements? So beautifully written. The bar, the neighbors, the casual care people offer each other made my heart full. This book really said: “you deserve people who show up for you, just because.”

I saw so much of myself in Toni. The protectiveness of your peace. The fear of letting people in after being hurt. The slow, hopeful way trust rebuilds. I’m so glad this story exists.

Where to begin?
It was amazing! You meet Toni a woman running from her Ex a abusive man. They agree a year to separate and give her a chance to figure her life out and what she wants out of that life. He thinks she will do this and come back to him and conform to his way of life. Does she want that though? she takes a coworker up on their chance to pick up a lease in Boston. with nothing to really lose she jumps at the chance. Packing up everything and leaving was the easy part. Can she truly find what she wants out of life and it make her want to stay? She has been called a hurricane, a mess, a natural disaster causing chaos and then leaving just as fast. Needing Coffee she stumbles into a bar and right into the arms of the sinfully handsome Cillian. A man with a very troubled past just trying to make it day by day. A recovering addict who knows he wants a gorgeous red head with curves in all the right places to keep him out of his head and breathing. In each others arms it feels like home and like their pasts aren't problems anymore. With the past eating at them both can they both feel like hiding it from each other is the only way to protect the other. They slowly fall in love but refuse to admit it. With Toni's ex trying to shove himself in her new life and her pushing back it becomes evident she doesn't want to go back to that life with his belittling. Tragedy soon strikes and their relationship is put to the test when he shuts down refusing to let even his family in. When he finally gets his head back on straight he rushes over to finally admit he does love her and ask her to not leave after the lease it up. Toni's ex decided in one last ditch effort to show up and ask her to come back and stop being so unreasonable. At that she realizes it wasn't going to work out she is allowed her feelings and is allowed to act however she wants when it comes to her life and no person is going to stand in her way. She also finally admits she is truly in love with Cillian and goes looking for him. After a long trip to all his favorite hang outs she finds him on the bridge he took her to and told her he felt the most grounded while on. They tell each other they love one other and that they will always be there for each other.
It has so many highs and lows it was beautifully written and found myself not being able to put it down. It had queer inclusivity and positivity all through the book and I loved it. It had so many positive messages that we can take away from it and use in our everyday lives. It will leave you feeling better after reading. It was 3 chili spice and a very happy 5 star read.

Toni is running away from her problems yet again. She's left an ex boyfriend and all of their mutual friends behind to try again, in a city over a thousand miles away. Cillian is running the family bar, and running away from a past that still has a hold on him, even if only in his mind. A gorgeous redhead steps into his bar and suddenly everything falls away, and he knows he has a chance at trying for something new, something good, for the first time in years.

*****

This book had an absolute chokehold on me. The second I dove in, I could tell that the author had poured herself into this one with the level of care they put into even the first interactions. I was amazing at how fleshed out and real the characters immediately sounded. It was like stepping into the mind of your best friend. Witty, genuine, dry and topical. That voice carried through Toni and Cillian and into all of their actions throughout the novel. I kept marveling that this book felt like a little slice of real life carved out on paper.

The interactions throughout were genuine, not fluffed up or saccharine. The banter was so devastatingly good that I'm kind of appalled that I'm not even remotely this funny. The friendship and love story that developed between Cillian and Toni despite both of their traumas and checkered pasts was real and sweet and had me emotionally invested in them so fast. I loved how we got to see Toni finally find the people she could call family, as well as let herself be as big and loud and take up as much space as she wanted to. It was amazing seeing her blossom into who she always was meant to be, with Cillian there to support, uplift and love her the entire way. Also their chemistry? So freaking good. The intimacy on page was killer, both physically and emotionally.

Overall this was an amazing book. With characters who represent the real world as we know it, and were developed to be complex, interesting, and easy to love. Definitely add this one to your TBR!

I want to start off by thanking the author @charliebrazen for the chance to review an ARC of this book. It was such a wonderful ride that I can hardly put my words together to say how much I loved this book.

Toni is a plus size, neurodivergent doll of a human who has been made to feel like she is too much. Too Unreasonable. A Hurricane. She starts the book off “running” from a lackluster relationship that has ingrained this idea of being too much into her psyche.

In comes Cillian, a man instantly enamored by Toni and carrying his own hidden feelings of being too much. His history in the Marines has led to chronic pain and PTSD that is only the top of the barrel of what he deals with inside his head every day.

Cillian falls hard and fast for Toni, asking her out the same day she wanders into her bar for a coffee and tells off a frat boy. Their “one night” ends and they both try to move on, but Cillians wonderful friends envelope Toni into their friend group and Cillian ends up making a bet Toni doesn’t refuse. This brings the two together and ultimately leads to Cillian truly seeing Toni and who she is, and accepting her for every bit of it. Shit situations lead to Toni seeing Cillian for all he is, and in the end the two can’t help but collide together.

Besties when I say this book ate, it ATE. it is one of my favorites of the year. The spice is immaculate, made me desperately miss sub space at one point WHEW. I love the entire cast of characters and I love how unapologetically queer almost every single one was.

The way I felt *seen* in this book is insane. As a fat, ADHD chick who often feels too much, it really hit home. There’s a scene when Cillian realizes Toni hasn’t build any of her furniture and he just… does it. 😍😍😍😍 I don’t know if my neurotypical people know how nice that sounds.

Ultimately this book is worth every single bit of 5 stars. It’s beautiful and soulful and had me crying and laughing and feeling so much. I could go on for ages about how good it is.

Unreasonably Yours is out in two days from me posting this, please go read it and support this amazing indie book y’all.

I absolutely adore this book and I could not put it down!

Toni just moved from Texas to Somerville, Massachusetts after declining her (now ex) boyfriend’s Christmas proposal. She has a six month sublet and no plan except to get herself together. For years she’s been called too much, too loud, and too unreasonable, but her life’s latest chaos makes her wonder if it might be true. When Toni meets Cillian at his family’s bar, they are immediately drawn to one another and when Cillian hears that Toni’s lease is up in a few months they make a bet. Cillian bets that he can make Toni fall in love with Boston and want to stay and if he loses then he’ll help her move. As he shows her the city, their connection grows and Toni wonders if maybe this messy, imperfect life is the one she wants.

I loved these characters so much. Toni is a plus size, strong, stubborn, and fiercely independent woman. She is not afraid to be herself and I could definitely see a lot of myself in her. Cillian is gruff but kind combat veteran and recovering addict. Their banter was adorable and the chemistry in the spicy scenes was palpable. The secondary characters were also amazing. I especially loved Lucy and her no-nonsense attitude. She and Oliver made a fantastic duo of best friends to Cillian.

One of the things that I really loved about this book was the casual representation. Toni is plus size, but it wasn’t a problem or something she was ashamed of. There were a variety of gender identities and sexual orientations that really reflect how different a friend group can be. Mental health struggles were depicted beautifully without any of the “you have to fix it” attitudes that you sometimes read. I really felt that both Cillian and Toni struggled with their mental health in very realistic ways. There are always ups and downs and I loved the supportive group that surrounded them.

I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who loves body positivity, queer positivity, and a story about rebuilding your life. I cannot wait to read more from Charlotte Jean!

Oh my gosh wow ! I ATE THIS BOOK UP ! I loved these two characters, Toni is such a great hurricane of a character. That scene with the frat guy ugh I loved it so much, Toni is my hero. And Cillian is just so much fun. Both of them fighting their own internal battles all the while being able to just be themselves when they with each other is so great. I loved getting to see more into their minds and feel their struggles and see them grow as characters and recognise their traumas and learn to face them. It was really interesting to see the different characters Toni encounters and see her connect so well within this community she’s found herself with, obviously with the help of Cillian. It was great to see also how inclusive this book is, it was relieving to have a plus size fmc who isn’t highlighted with a big arrow that says fat on it. It definitely shows that she plus size but you don’t see her constantly insecure about it or talking about it inhibiting her from doing thing and especially with spicy things which I think is something plus size women get a lot of stigma on. Not to mention the ptsd aspect paired with the disabled veteran style of Cillian, I loved that they talked a lot about his injury and there is focus on his ptsd but it doesn’t portray him as less than because of these disadvantages he has. Both characters are amazing representation but not just that but they are both LGBTQ+ as well as supporting characters being so as well. It was all really refreshing to read about in a non stereotypical way. In terms of spice in this book thou well it is nice and spicy in terms of how descriptive it is. There isn’t a whole lot of scenes throughout but there is definitely a few so it’s about a 2.5/5 for spice. Overall, this one was fantastic I really enjoyed it and I’d love to read more in this world because the supporting characters were excellent and I love the writing. So I will definitely be recommending it to everyone.

Please review the trigger warnings before proceeding.

This book is heartfelt, important, and full of the kind of characters you can’t help but fall for. Yes, it tackles some heavy themes, but they’re handled with honesty and care.

Let’s talk about our leads: Toni is a plus-size, confident, creative, fiercely secure heroine. I adored her. She’s bold, funny, unapologetic, and deeply deserving of love that doesn’t try to shrink her. I loved watching her reclaim joy and art after leaving behind a life that didn’t fit.

And then there’s Cillian, a combat vet, loyal son, golden-retriever-meets-German-shepherd energy. He’s steady, selfless, and the kind of hero who sees Toni exactly as she is and falls harder every second. But he’s not just “her support system,” he’s on his own path of healing too, learning to let people in and want more for himself. Their slow-burn chemistry? Chef’s kiss. I only wish the spice scenes had been fleshed out (pun intended) to match their emotional depth, because the tension was absolutely there.

The supporting cast is perfection. Found family, LGBTQ+ inclusion, mental health, and addiction recovery rep! They make the world of this book feel vibrant and whole. The small details in this book made me feel seen.

Were there a few bumps? Yes. Some rushed intimate scenes, a heavy-handed use of pet names, time jumps that felt a little choppy, and an ending that wrapped up quicker than I would’ve liked. But honestly? Those things didn’t outweigh how much heart this story carried. This book made me laugh, cry, and feel all the feels.

What to Expect:
✨ Plus Size FMC
✨ Found Family
✨ ADHD Rep
✨ Disability Rep
✨ Bisexual Leads
✨ He Falls First
✨ Spice

This story stuck with me and I cannot wait to see what Charlotte Jean does next.

Thank you to Charlotte Jean, the author, and team for the ARC opportunity!

I loved this book. From the plus size representation and spicy scenes to the heart wrenching moments, this book was so good.

The characters are complex, messy and felt so real and relatable. Both main characters have their own trauma and hang-ups that lead them to believe that they are too much to deserve the other — too scarred, too messy, too clingy, too impulsive, too unreasonable.

The spark between the FMC, Toni and MMC, Cillian is extremely evident. Their banter is so fun and flirtatious, and when they discover their ✨mutual preferences✨, the chemistry becomes undeniable. I am simply obsessed with how obsessed Cillian is with Toni and her curves + how gentle and worshipful Toni is towards Cillian’s scars. 🥹

Another aspect that I loved are the relationships with the supporting characters. This book definitely has found family vibes with side characters that are supportive, maybe a bit pushy (in a loving way) and are hilarious in their own right. Especially Lucy — I want to know even more about Lucy!

This is a story about learning to trust yourself, to forgive yourself and find healing through your own actions, as well as with the help of your family and friends. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

There is plus size representation, as well as bi rep, trans rep, disability rep, ADHD, PTSD and anxiety rep in this book. 💖 There are some heavy topics in this book — be sure to check the content warnings.

Our FMC is Toni, who represents plus-size, is bisexual, and is a chaotic force to be reckoned with.
Our MMC, Cillian, is a tattooed bar manager, of Italian descent and ex-marine, with representations of PTSD, addiction, and Bisexual rep.

It had a good, but casual representation and in book acceptance of bi, gay, non-binary, and trans people. And i loved that the diverse set of friends became such a sweet found family.

The author did a very good job addressing veterans' mental health struggles, grief, and mental health, which included supporting their friends and family through it.

There were spicy scenes, perhaps 2 chilli peppers with some light Sub/Dom.

Check your triggers; there is an on-page description of dealing with a suicide, and boy, I found it hit hard, as this is something I have experience with. The Author did well to describe the heartbreaking ripples, though i was sad not to follow up on the direct family in the aftermath. However, please be aware that this does tie through a good portion of the middle of the book. It was well done, but please be safe with your mental health.

I received this book as an ARC, but this is an honest review.

I received a digital ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

A plus sized ADHD bisexual woman with an inferiority complex meets an ex-marine bisexual man with battle wounds. How could I NOT sign up for this book when I saw the opportunity?

When it comes to what I loved about this book the list is extremely long! The representation is great. From mental health, to queer community, I am eating it up! I also loved the bi for bi. As a bisexual person I feel like our sexuality can be trivialized really easily in many different ways. But Jean did a great job acknowledging bisexuality in both of our main characters without making it a whole big thing. The same can be said for how the representation was done for mental health. As someone who works in the mental health field, and has ADHD, I really appreciate how these different topics were handled. Abuse, PTSD, and the other heavy topics discussed in the book are very complex and heavy to deal with and I feel that they were handled with respect and grace.

The only reason that this isn’t at 5/5 for me is that I wish the spicy scenes had a little bit more to them. Overall, they were still good! I just felt like there was something missing. I feel so picky saying that because everything else was so amazing and this was an amazing 4.5/5 star read.

I have been dying to read this since i heard about it before release date. I nabbed it straight away and read it as soon as i got chance.

I wasn't disappointed at all - Toni is wonderful. She is confident and sassy but also struggles with being more than some can handle. I can't tell you enough how much I love to see the ADHD and plus sized woman rep - it makes me feel seen and I identify with the struggles she faces, like being seen as 'too much'. It's a phrase I have grown to hate, and it causes Toni so much insecurity - which is so understandable for her, but as a reader and outside observer you want to hug her and tell her that she is perfect as she is, and if others can't handle it, then that says more about them than her.

Cillian is both a wonderful and a flawed man. That is no criticism - characters who only have one of those aspects are two dimensional and flat. Cillian is complicated but in a way that makes him feel real. Their romance is so sweet - his instant crush on her and how he is do desperate for his friends not to embarass him - it made me smile so widely.

The story flows and you are taken along for the ride - it isn't all highs, and no one is perfect, but you love them all the more for it. I am very glad I jumped this way up my TBR list - it was a fantastic and addictive read.

i loved this! as always, i wanted it to be longer, but this time it was not because i felt like i needed more detail or explanation about these characters. i just wanted to spend more time with them.

the best part of this book is the fact that everyone feels like a real person. they’re complicated, with whole pasts and fleshed out personalities. their “flaws” are reasonable personality traits that come from their experiences and not just strangely out of character choices shoehorned in for the sake of complicating the plot.

even our side characters, jaq, lucy, oliver, michael, belle, most of them feel like they’ve been constructed as real people who live in the world!

this book is just full of easy affection and comfort and so much love that you can feel it in every moment, even when the characters are arguing. oliver and cillian’s fight is one of my favorite moments in the whole book because it’s done with so much love that it almost hurts to read.

it’s not a complicated plot, there are no twists and turns, it’s not meant to be some sort of big saga. it’s just a lovely little found family piece that features heartfelt adoration, some very hot moments, and a fmc who’s always felt a little lost finally making herself a home out of new people in a new place.

Definitely check TW for this book before going in but the author does have a list at the start of the book.

🩶 Neurodivergency
🩶 Bi 4 Bi
🩶 PSTD from military service
🩶 Disability rep
🩶 Mentions to child abuse (briefly)
🩶 Suicide (off page)
🩶 Drug and alcohol addiction (briefly)
🩶 Smut, BDSM, Kink
🩶 Grief
*I think that’s it but please do check

I adored this. I went in thinking I’d enjoy it, it would be a fun time and that would be that. By god was I wrong. I AM OBSESSED!!

The way so many different avenues are explored was done with such grace and in such a realistic way (ADHD, PTSD, addiction recovery, grief and suicide). I always love how both characters being bisexual wasn’t a massive part of the book, it was briefly mentioned a few times but didn’t take paramount over everything like some other books.

This is honestly one of my favourite books now. I never cry with books. ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is the only book that ever made me cry…until tonight. The ending just hit me so fucking hard.

Side note: I usually despise a third act breakup but pairing that with the grief made everything make so much sense and I didn’t hate it.

💕 Thank you for the arc 💕

I absolutely adored this story, the realness of the people in it, the rawness of their lived experiences, and their deep love for each other. I cried, I laughed, I felt all the feels.

Toni is a force of nature who’s, unfortunately, been hurt by people who are not willing to meet her where she is. The undertones of her experience as a fat woman were subtle and relatable, and it healed my heart a little bit to immerse myself in this unique and lovely fmc who is both strong and soft.

Cillian, sweet angel man. Despite his big artistic romantic heart, he has traveled a brutal path. His scars are both visible and invisible, and they run deep. Whereas Toni’s ex wanted to diminish her, Cillian is like one of those people who chase storms; the closer he gets to eye of Toni’s hurricane, the more alive he feels.

The friend/family group is top notch. Honestly where can I sign up for a found family like this??

I’m so thankful for the digital ARC gifted by the author, Charlotte Jean, and plan to add a physical trophy to my library, too.

I loved this book! The story line may be similar to other romances (woman starts over in a new town after the rather abusive ex tried to force her to settle down; meets cute bartender and the sparks fly) BUT the characters were very different from other romances in that their shit was REAL!
I have never read a romance where reality was so beautifully accurately described without sugar coating it but without being to angsty, just for the fun of it.
The PTSD, the addiction and both persons' feeling of 'being too much' were so vividly described that I could totally relate. As an addict myself, I can whole-heartedly say that it is 100% true.

And the love story! My, my. I was blown away by the great mix of tenderness but also dom/sub elements in the spicy scenes and in general. The fiercely protective side of Cillian made me swoon, without him being an overbearing mother bear like other MMC in other books, where the protectiveness is just an excuse to overshadow and overpower the females.

All in all, a great read and I will definitely read other books by this author!

4.5 stars rounded to 5.

Unreasonably Yours is about giving yourself a second chance to grow and change into the person you want to be. It's about giving yourself grace and not allowing others to diminish, belittle, and change you. It's about recognising and respecting your boundaries, and never settling for less. It's also about learning to speak up and communicate better with those you love. No one is a mind reader; as Cillian tells Toni, "use your words".

Cillian and Toni are out of relationships with people who treated them poorly. Each of them has their issues and past trauma, which bleeds into their interactions. This is a journey into their relationship and how they change and evolve individually.
Every single character is well-rounded and developed. I appreciate that the story does not revolve around the MFMC.

The book contains heavy themes, but the author provides a trigger warning before it begins. Pay attention to the list. This is an open-door book.

I received an ARC and I'm so happy I did because I enjoyed this book immensely.

Do judge a book by its cover because i saw the beautiful cover art of this book on my IG discover pager and fell in love and when I read it I loved it just as much.

The way that Cillian saw right thru her and accepted all her unreasonable parts her silly parts and more importantly how he encouraged her creative side, ugh I melted.

We see Cillian and Toni grow into themselves and into each other and both learning that despite what their past tells them they deserved to be fully lover.

And the spice really is top tier.

~Blurb~

After ending a relationship where her ex considered her too much and too unreasonable while not respecting her boundaries Toni decides to move somewhere new and that's how she ended up in cute Irish bar in Boston, where she meets Cillian the hot tattoed bartender who after what they thought was just going to be a one night stand can't stop picturing what they could be.

What happens when a brand new Boston transplant and absolute firecracker walks into a bar? Apparently, a steamy romance with the beat up and emotionally battered bar owner.

I love all the Boston love in this book! Having lived in Boston in the past, it was lovely seeing it through Toni's eyes. Toni and Cillian are both very loveable, imperfect characters. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and I especially loved Toni's self confidence and the way everyone acknowledges her sheer hotness as a FAT (and not just 'curvy' or 'busty' or whatever euphemism) and sexy romantic lead. The feeling of being too much for someone is so darned relatable, and I loved the struggles these two went through. While the romance itself was "fall fast and hard" they still had quite a few challenges to overcome that didn't just rely on the typical miscommunication trope. And I absolutely can't get over how BEAUTIFUL this cover is.

This book does have heavier themes (with a long build up) so be sure to read the trigger warnings.
