Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
As usual, I did love this addition to the series, and the writing was superb. Dasani was a cutie who hated it when people used swear words, which kind of bothered me since I'm all for freedom of expression or free speech (just saying :). Dasani had a sick, insane, evil father who wanted him to mate with his own sister to keep the shadow elf race going. No mating with any other species, and Dasani's mate just happened to be a white tiger, Winter. I enjoyed the witty dialogue between the characters, however, this is just based on my personal preference, but I felt like there was way too much pain for Dasani. I couldn't see how he could possibly have a HEA in this story with everything that had happened to him. I'm happy that it ended okay, but I was so frustrated through many portions of the plot. I'm definitely still loving this series, so I'm excited to read the next book.

Summary:
Dasani was a wonderful character who was both world weary and child-like. The book opened up with Dasani hiding in the forest near the Lakeland farm spying on the man of his dreams, Winter. Even though he knew Winter was his mate, Dasani knew that his father, a very bigoted and intolerant Shadow Elf, would never allow him to get together with anyone who wasn't like them, a Shadow Elf. Dasani and his sister had endured abuse, both physical and verbal, form their dad, but when he decided that they were going to be married it was the last straw. Winter's willingness to find out why Dasani couldn't be with him and then fight for his mate showed what a wonderful man he was. I enjoyed how many of the characters from earlier books were incorporated into this story.
Eh.. why wasn't this part of the Shadow tribe? Hmm probably cuz not going to be STAYING with the elves? Cute read. Dasani kept me engaged simply due to the innocence factor and the 'language' thing to the potty mouths.
Winter.. not sure I would agree that he was the best match for Dasani. And for Dasani going off half cocked thinking he'd be able to take care of business was just ludicrous.
Another excellent story ! I was so happy to see Dasani and Winter's love story come to life. I always enjoy seeing characters from previous books again and have them help kick butt of the evil that the mates of each story have to deal with. The love, tenderness, devotion and sexy time are always amazing and I look forward to the next book!
Well, that wasn’t too bad. Maybe a bit heavy on the sex. And maybe nothing new in terms of character types. But we did get a cohesive story, for the most part, and these days I am already grateful for that much.
I liked this paring...I liked both Winter and Dasssni and I like the shadow elves and want more books about them..it was good to see some of the Lakelands as well...especially Chauncey....Off to the next book ...
Just what we needed.... Another virginal, stammering, teenieweenie , blushing and overly innocent mate who needs to be carried around half the time! This story is simply a revision of the stories about the other shadow elves. If you haven't paid for it yet, don't.
