Wes, the wildlife officer who sees through her defenses. Elias, the gentle healer who makes vulnerability feel safe. And Rhett, the grumpy mechanic who understands that some things are worth fighting for.
Now Willa's caught between her fear of being controlled and her growing need for connection. Between the safety of isolation and the terrifying possibility that home isn't a place you find, but people who choose to stay.
If she can trust her heart and survive her heat, she might discover that the right pack doesn't claim you. It chooses you.
A small-town omegaverse romance with slow burn heat, found family feels, and absolutely no MM.
This has all the elements of a perfectly cozy romance. However, the author is missing the mark. There is a LOT of showing and not telling. We get a lot of thoughts in the characters heads without seeing their interactions on page. The men are almost too in tune with the heroine.
And, I'm always disappointed when an author doesn't do their research. As an urban planner, civic processes are always going to catch my eye. And this story has some completely unrealistic processes that I could not stand reading.
It should have been good, but it's missing something... a lot of something.
Unfortunately the chapters appeared to jump back and forth within the timeline in a way that appears unorganized and confusing. Not to mention that the book had multiple areas where conflicting information about events happened. Disappointing
I loved the first book in this series and this one was very disappointing. Very slow and nothing happens until way past halfway through the book. Honestly only kept reading to say that I finished it. Did not like it, too slow and uneventful for me. The writing was good but just didn’t enjoy the pace or how the MMCs were classed as grumpy but weren’t, very disappointed
I’m so sad I hated this book, especially since I loved the first one. This one kept repeating the same words over and over and using cliches thought the book.
This was very different from the first book and cozy omegaverse. But nonetheless I did enjoy this one. This story was all about claiming your independence and not letting your past define you. I loved the characters and the way they brought a different vibe to the story and helped Willa patiently and gently.
The writing was a little different then the first book and I noticed a lot of repetitive sentences and thoughts but it was still enjoyable. I would have liked a little more different thoughts with each character instead of them thinking a saying exactly the same things. Other than that it was a good book.
I loved this book. I have actually loved all of Lark's books that I have read. This one was very well written and the way Elias spoke just pulled me in. I don't know what it was about him specifically, maybe the elegance of it I'm not really sure. They all brought something different to the pack but made it so special. Definitely read this book. Happy Reading Everyone!
I wanted to like this book so bad and I really did at first but it just seemed so repetitive that I really struggled to finish it. Also majority of the book there was no romance due to trust issues which is understandable but then all the sudden they are moving in together. I don’t know I just didn’t enjoy the pacing and repetitive writing.
Disappointed. This one kept repeating itself over and over to the point I thought I had fallen asleep or lost interest and was ready the same page.Turns out that was not the case. I also didn’t like the ending. I am not a fan of cliffhangers and felt that there wasn’t enough to keep me coming back to read the next book in the series.
This was a pretty good read. Very sweet, but very slow. Not really spicy either there is like one scene. And it felt like the ending was incomplete. It probably picks up in another book with other character. But this was very sweet slow Healing read.
