All I Want #1

All I Want - Part One

Rate this book
For two years, Sidney Miller ran from life, working one menial job after another to keep herself so busy she would never have to think or feel—or remember the tragedies she’s faced. Her careful plans are abruptly changed when she meets Gavin at the temporary job she’s taken to keep herself busy through the holidays.

Gavin Rogers is only in San Francisco to help his brother’s struggling law firm. With no time—or desire—for relationships, his world is turned upside down when he finds something in his heart for a woman he’s sure he could never be interested in.

Recommended for adults only. Steamy scenes and coarse language.

This is the first part of three-part series and ENDS WITH A CLIFFHANGER.

I didn't like how this book was written at all. It was boring and barely had any dialogue. Sidney is a widow and her brother is in the hospital. She lost her husband while she was having her baby but she also lost her baby. After all that she closed herself out to everyone. Then comes Gavin. He lives in her apartment complex. She hasn't felt like this in who knows how long. She never even felt these sparks with her ex husband Tim. But she denies what she feels. But Gavin won't give up. Gavin makes assumptions about her and leaves. Little does he know she is going to be his biggest case. He's a lawyer. I don't even want to waste more time writing about his book cause I definitely won't be reading the rest of them.

I guess I am the only person who didn't like this book.

Sidney was whiny and not a woman I enjoyed reading about. She has no friends and has had 1 relationship in her life, even though its ending was a tragedy. She saw Gavin as this playboy, bringing a different girl to his apartment every night. Said she would walk away from him but didn't. Turned down a date and it was only because she had to work, told him she would meet him an hour late, slept with him immediately... this wasn't for me. Did they ever even have more than 1 conversation? And it was about nothing of substance.

This is a difficult one for me, because although I hate reading a book only to discover it's not an entire story; I feel cheated, I really enjoyed this. Great chemistry and a plot that keeps you reading. Read this one this morning, part 2 this afternoon and part 3 is on the go this evening. Really wanted to not like it, just couldn't.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. Sidney Miller is working in the mall at the Santaland when a good looking man named Gavin Rogers and his nephew came up to her. Sidney recognised him from her apartment building, but he couldn't remember where he had seen her. Two years ago Sidney had a big tragedy in her life so she would work three jobs so she wouldn't have time to think she just wanted to keep busy. Two years ago Gavin lost everything that mattered to him so he came back home to help his brother with his law firm. After what happened to him in Chicago, Gavin followed his old bosses advice to only take a woman on a date three times then move on to the next one, but this rule was working for him until he saw Sidney. After talking with Gavin and getting to know him a little more, Sidney started to like him but she already knew about his rule and decided she wanted a one night stand because she felt she was ready to move on. When Gavin saw something in Sidney's home he left feeling angry that she had lied to him and he felt that she was like all the other women. The next day Gavin went to work he had already decided that he was going to quit and leave San Francisco, but when he got there his brother told him that a big client was waiting for him in his office. When his brother explaine who it was he was in shock because he realised who Sidney really was and what had happened to her two years ago.

I sort of feel bad counting this as a book, but since Goodreads does who am I to argue? This is the first book in the All I Want trilogy. It is definitely a cliffhanger. This one puts you in the middle of the developing relationship, if you can call it that, between Gavin and Sidney. Both of them have baggage. Sidney is tired of functioning in limbo after the tragedy from two years ago. Gavin's wounds are fresher and he's in San Francisco for a fresh start. Neither knows the story of the other.

All I Want Part One held my interest and I started part two immediately after finishing this one. I'm not sure why this wasn't written as one book, but whatever.

All I Want

I have to say, I'm not fond of sequels, but this book kept me captivated. Sidney has suffered so much loss at such an early age that she is driven to keep herself busy so it gives her less time to mourn her loss. She meets Gavin a tenant in her building and finds a mutual attraction. She doesn't know he's had loss, but it's implied, hence onto the next sequel.

Fantastic book! It's not easy to read, because it's a pretty sad story, especially for a romance, but a great story none the less. Two people, who are severely wounded, stumbling on each other and the way to turn the page and find light in their lives again.

I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for my honest review. Thank you very much Renna because this was really a great start to this three part series. Likeable characters that both have some secrets that slowly unravel throughout Part One. Sydney and Gavin have some great scenes and I really look forward to where this is headed with Part Two. I will say my only negative that is keeping me from 5 staring this book would be that I wasn't totally gaga over Gavin. I'm hoping with the next installment I get some more insight into him and really make that connection. All in all I would give this one 4 Stars and will definitely be checking out Part Two when it releases November 14th. Grab it up!!...

A sweet read. A 3-part short series.

Very intense attraction between Sidney and Gavin. Both are intrigued by the other but Gavin is a manwhore and she needs more than that. Sidney is not one of his usual 3 date woman and already he feels too much for her.

I like how Gavin starts going out his comfort zone without even realizing it. But when he does notice, he doesn't care because he likes her. Sidney gets drawn into him and starts to care. Both are hiding secrets and pain.

I liked how the author handles Sidney's past trauma and her learning to move on. I also liked how she wasn't made into bitch or slut to handle her heartache but grieves for 2 years alone. Gavin didn't handle his pain as well and turns into a manwhore.

Overall a good, well written read. Sometimes a little confusing when switching back and forth between POV. Would have been nice to see their names above the paragraph instead of having to wait 2 or 3 sentences in to find out whose POV it was.

After I read some books and post reviews I really wish there was more than 5 stars to rate them. All I Want Part One is one of those books. I would rate this first part of the 3-part story a 10, if not more.
I loved the characters, the story line and didnt want to finish it. I actually read it twice it was that good !!
You cant help but fall in love with Sydney and Gavin and feel for them as you get to know them and the struggles they are individually dealing with.
The only thing that makes you feel better when you finish the book is knowing that the story doesnt end there and you have Books Two and Three to look forward too.
Renna Peak has such a gift and talent in her writing. Pick up All I Want - Part One and see what I mean.

I gave the book a chance and was not disappointed. I love how Gavin the attractive lawyer runs into his neighbor Sidney, who just happens to be an elf at a department store...a sexy elf. They both had been eyeing one another for months and now they finally cross paths. They have the sizzling going on with the sweet feeling of butterflies and who can resist a guy admitting to having such feelings. especially when he has a three date rule....three dates and you are gone...game over....well, that is until he meets Sidney. She shakes his world up but yet has some of her own demons going on....I could not put the book down and I had to get part two to see where they were heading.

Wow. Where do I start?! That ending left me speechless. All I Want by Renna Peak is simply amazing!!! Renna Peak had me hooked from the first page and held onto me until the tremendous cliffhanger end. I had many emotions throughout this book...I laughed, I cried, my heart skipped a few beats, and I felt every emotion that the characters were going through. This book is fabulous!!!!!!!!
I highly recommend All I Want by Renna Peak. I personally will be reading a lot more from this author. This is easily a FIVE star book hands down, no doubt about it.

I think this author is exceptionally talented. this book made me happy. it made me cry. it made me cheer for the hero and hate the hero at the same time.

why 3 stars? i hate being suckered into purchasing books.

i got the first part (this one) free. and right in the middle, the book is done. you have to buy part 2. what's worse? that one was even shorter before having to buy part 3.

this book is not a trilogy. it all happens within about a 6 month timetable. don't make a trilogy out of a standard romance novel. it doesn't endear you to your readers.

Another must read at a great price!

*I was given a copy of this by the author for an honest review*

Wow! I haven't read a Renna Peak book that I haven't loved. This story is full of unexpected plot twists that I loved. You would think there couldn't be much of a story in a short novella, but somehow Peak gets it done! I also enjoy the cliffhanger endings because she plans her release dates fairly close so there isn't too much of a wait. I am really looking forward to the next two books!

This was a great read. I enjoyed the storyline and characters. Sidney is such a strong woman who has been through so much. I am rooting for her to find her happiness after experiencing a heartbreaking tragedy. And, Gavin, who in the past has been a player, sees something different in Sidney who truly captivates him. The pull between these two characters is undeniable and they are slowly opening up their hearts to each other. I can't wait to read more about this couple and their story.

Great read

Oh my! To say I loved this book is putting it mildly. I was so into this book that I never realized how close I was to the end until I got there. I had to download the second book immediately! If you like a good, girl next door, kind of romance, then you need to read this. Sydney is the type of woman that melts your heart and you just naturally find yourself rooting for her.

Part One.....

Sydney isn't ready for romance, she still not over Tim. Not read ready to move on even after two years....but can she?

Gavin lost everything, his ex took it all. But could he move on and live with his 3 dare rule. Sure, until he seen the sexiest pair of eyes he's ever seen.....

Read what happens to Sydney when she finally looks at Gavin for the first time....

Christmas romance widow and the rake

Writing style is unique and easily understood. Violinist, teacher, and mall elf meet the neighbor two years after she looses her son, quarterback star husband, and her beloved brother is put into a coma. Well developed characterization and story line. More adult style readers due sexual content.

Good start to the story...

The "book" itself was too short in my opinion (157 pages is more of a story or novella than a full book.) The story itself was good, I really enjoyed it. The cliffhanger ending will have you ready for the next book.

A good free book. I really enjoyed the story but the ending was a bit of a let down. I expected more of a cliff hanger to make me want to buy the next book. I'd like to know what happens with Sidney and Gavin but I'm not compelled to buy the next book.
