Brynn is returning to her home town for her 10-year high school reunion. She allowed a close friend to talk her into it partially so they can see each other and enjoy some 'girl' time. Another reason Brynn is going is in hopes of a dream fantasy opportunity with the boy she had a crush on during high school, the popular athlete, Troy.

When Brynn and her friend go to the first ‘meet and greet’ event she runs into her best friend from grade school through high school, Craig. Craig was always there for Brynn. She could be herself with him and they always had fun together. Later she turns around causing Troy to spill his drink down his front.

Even though her first encounter with Troy is an awkward stumble, he keeps seeking Brynn out trying to talk to her. Unfortunately, Troy’s high school girlfriend is quick to interrupt and to advise Brynn that Troy would only be interested in her as a conquest.

Brynn keeps thinking she wants to get time with Troy while Craig keeps trying to get Brynn’s attention. Brynn always thought of Craig as her “go-to” friend and never as a boyfriend. But suddenly she is experiencing tingles and butterflies at unexpected contacts. As Brynn finally has Troy’s attention she is more confused than ever as it appears her dream date may be only fantasy and the real thing may be closer than she thinks.

This is a quick, easy read. I enjoyed the nice writing style from the very opening. This is reflected as "inspirational" but the faith aspect is lightly, but sincerely included. Although the story does not present a new theme it is nicely handled and I found it engaging. I hope to read more from this author and I recommend this as a nice quick romance read.

Who never felt anxious before a High School Reunion throws the first stone!!

Brynn was not thrilled to attend this meeting. She was not pretty, much less popular in High School. But her friend Kari managed to persuade her to go.
Excited, she had high hopes for something more with her old crush: the player of the basketball team, Troy Richards.

In addition, Brynn would have a chance to meet her best friend, Craig Dawson.

Craig did not live in Seaspray either. He was a successful lawyer in San Diego.
With this reunion, which he only knew would happen because his parents still lived in that city, he could finally do something he never had the courage: to tell Brynn what he really felt for her.

Without knowing Brynn's plans for this event, would Craig have any chance of having the girl he always loved in his arms?

It's a clean and beautiful short story.

Brynn Sawyers as returned to her hometown to attend her High School reunion, which she had to be coaxed to come to. She knew she was going to see her high school crush, Troy Richards, who might or might not remember her. She also hoped to see her best friend Craig Dawson and of course her friend Kari. Would coming back home be life changing for Brynn or would she go back to Houston the same way she came, single...She wants Troy to sweep her off her feet and live happy ever after. But things don't go Brynn's way. But why when ever Craig is in the mix, she feels something she has never felt before... Those fluttering of butterflies in the stomach and sparks when he touches her. Will she get those feelings when she finally gets Troy to see her...

I really liked this short sweet read and I loved Brynn. She is quirky and funny and so sweet. This book gave me a nice feeling of contentment when I finished reading and made me long for those halcyon days of my youth when everything was in front of me. You can't go wrong with a sweet clean romance and a HEA at the finish.

I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

This short and lovely novel may make you think back to your high school days--And don't remind me of reunions! A couple of years back I went to a reunion for several years in one--the only reason I went was to see a very old and dear friend who now lives far far away--kind of the reason Brynn ended up going to her class reunion! My year is celebrating the 50th this year--heavens--has it really been that long?
I'm going to try and convince myself to go!!

Friends--both female and male--from our high school days remain in our hearts forever--of course so do some pretty embarrassing moments! Brynn had her share of them and Craig was always there. But it was Troy she had her heart set on--besides Craig was just a friend.

I'm going to tell you to read this clean, engaging novel for yourself to find out what happens!

This is a quick easy read, with a sweet romance. The plot covers a 10 year reunion and seeing the best friends, secret crushes and nemesis from high school days years later. I would call this closer to "short story" than novella, and presumably because of that length there isn't a lot of depth to the characters or story. But it is a very nice read, and inclines me to check out other works by this writer.

This book which was a better than good clean romance, was so good I really did not want to put it down till I finished it, so I didn't. At times as I almost became the characters I was sad, then happy and at other times I wanted to laugh out loud but I couldn't as I would have woken my husband up.
Thank you so much Rebecca for lifting me out of the doldrums. I was so uplifted I have rated Best Kind of Love five stars. Blessings Ann

What if you had the chance to be with your high school crush?

Pretty cheesy. Felt scripted. The Mc was trying not to sound too high school, but she failed. Too much emphasis was put on discovering feelings based on a kiss. I don't think that's how real life is. Still, it was a clean, quick read about second chances. Loved the beach setting. I'll give the second book a shot.

Imagine a high school reunion where you will FINALLY be able to catch your crush's eye after all these years. But do you still want to? Or is there someone better who has loved you all this time? Quick Novella, but a lot of fun to read.

Not romantic and most of it was about crushing on the wrong guy, the author successfully ruined the only chance of seeing some romance by a kiss from the wrong guy followed immediately by another from the right guy...eww.

Loved it!
It's a short story so there's little build-up. We just jump in to the good stuff!

The plot was pretty simple, but it played out well. We get to see a couple of dreams come true... and we get the start of a HEA

This is a story of two best friends in high school Brynn and Craig, who lost touch with each other after graduation. They reconnected when they both attended their reunion. Brynn was hoping to eventually be able to have a chance with her high school crush. Fate was being kind to Brynn and she finally got the chance she had been praying for. She got the attention, talk and hang out with Troy. But when she at last kissed Troy, it was not what she expected. There were no butterflies. No magical feeling. Is Troy really the one she wants?

I know how it feels when you ultimately get to have what you really wanted and wished for. And it sucks to realize that it was not at all what you expected it to be. Be careful what you wish for. Those words smack you right in the face. Yes, not all we wish for are best for us. This is exactly what Brynn learned in this story. Good thing, she has the common sense to pay attention to the signs and did not just ignore them. Butterflies in the stomach and sparks of electricity may be overrated but they can not also be dismissed. No one in their right mind would want to not feel those things. But they could not also be taken as a foolproof sign that things will just perfectly work between two people. All relationships need work.

This book is a feel good one. It gave me this delightful feeling and reminded me of my high school crush. But he is married now so I had to cut short my walk down memory lane. Let happy people be happy. Leave happy people alone. But still it felt good to reminisce. How it is to be young and unstoppable. Like the world is ready to be conquered and dominated. Only it is far from that when you think you were ready to conquer it.

Anyway, I give the book 4/5 molasses cookies. I love stories of best friends falling in love and eventually ending up with each other. There's just no substitute for familiarity and comfort. Of someone being able to understand what makes you tick. One who gives in to your cravings and temporary bouts of madness. Someone who would not hesitate to be blunt and honest with you if he needs to. Because when all the romance and the sex has faded, the friendship will sustain the rest of the years the two of you will have to weather. I too dreamed of ending married to my best friend. The only issue is I have lost touch with all of my close guy friends whether in high or in college. Or they have gotten married. Maybe, I still have a chance of making a new guy best friend. In my thirties, what are the odds?

I got this when I signed up for the author's newsletter. Thank you again Rebecca Talley.

Brynn Sawyer heads home to Seaspray CA from Houston TX to her ten-year high school reunion. She has very mixed feelings about going, but her best friend Kari will be there, too, and they're looking forward to the weekend together. Maybe their other best friend, Craig Dawon, will be there also.

What worries Brynn is wondering whether Troy Richards, her forever unrequited crush in high school, will be there, too. She's not sure whether it will be worse if he is, or if he isn't.

Soon she's discovering how much some have changed, how little others have changed--and that while Troy is as deliciously attractive as ever, she still can't avoid spilling things on him.

Yet her reactions to him--and to Craig--are not the same. Something's different.

What's changed?

It's a warm little romance novella, that will add a nice touch to your day.

Recommended.

Amazing things can happen at high school reunions.

Brynn went to her 10 year high school reunion hoping to see a guy she had secretly been in love with. Her best friend Craig was there too and he had been in love with Brynn but she was too blind to see it. Her friend Kari had seen Craig's interest in Brynn and told her so. It was confusing when Troy kissed her and she felt nothing like she would have expected. She realized too late that she wasn't interested in Troy but where had Craig gone? She found him on the beach and when he finally kissed her like he had always wanted to she felt fireworks go off. Ms. Talley wrote a delightful story showing how we have misconceptions abouts relationship that keep us from finding the real thing.

10 years is a long time to hold on to a crush! 10 years is a long time not to see one of two best friends from high school. 1 weekend may not be long enough to sort it all out-or it may be too long!
Brynn Sawyer returns to the town she went to high school in for her 10th anniversary. Her best friend from school has convinced her to come. She wanted to see how the crush of her high school years had fared, so off Brynn goes to California to find some answers. Only this time the answers weren't what she was expecting, or maybe the questions had changed.

This was pretty predictable, but it was a well written story about a high school reunion with many revelations and funny moments. A quick read and enjoyable book.

I Loved this story...
Brynn doesn't really want to go to her High School Reunion and it is only after the prodding of her BFF Kari. She is nervous about going and possibly meeting her unrequited love Troy who was the High School basketball star... She had always been a Klutz around him and would make a fool of herself and she was afraid that she would do that again.. She was also hoping to see her best male friend Craig,.. whom she had known forever and had always been there for her.. Little did she know that Craig had feelings toward her and had wanted to date her in high school but she was so caught up in her infatuation with Troy that he never asked her out. Would she meet Troy and would things spark between them or would a relationship start between her and Craig
