A harrowing and exhilarating ride

Book 2 of the Codes Antonii series was great if you liked the first one. The last hundred pages are like a great action movie. I look forward to reading book 3!

Very Good

Excellent continuation of the first book. Lots of action and suspense. Looking forward to starting the third book. New characters introduced and sets the stage for a new adventure.

The concept behind this series is growing on me. The second book is better written than the first in the series and better edited ( though still plagued by the odd grammar gaffe... confusion of then and than; a pet peeve of mine).

The main POV in this book is taken up by young Cordus who struggles accepting his fate. The cast of the series changes by the end of the book with the killing off of many of the main ones from the first book. I am looking forward to where the author is taking the series in the third novel.

Generally, the pace of this book is high and maintained. I don't think there are any real slow sections of the book and it maintained my interest quite well. I thought the final conflict with the Originators in virtual reality was a bit hard to digest, but I am not a gamer and don't relate to the idea of VR very well.

A good follow up to the first book, The Muses of Roma, and worth the time to read it.
