*Please note that this is the conclusion to the story that began in Something Reckless which must be read first. Accordingly, the review below may contain spoilers for the Book 1. If you have not yet started this series please see my review for Something Reckless.*

4 "Scandal-filled Love" Stars! Sex, love, and politics is the name of the game in Something Real. Surprisingly, this book had a slightly different feel from Something Reckless. Much less focused on the suspense, but still with a few new twists, Something Real seems to be more embroiled in revelations of countless more scandals. Sordid and shocking, each new discovery overwhelming dwarfs the prior. So much so, that that this book almost made me feel like I was watching a Jerry Springer or other similar style TV talk show. The more outrageous the better, and when multiple scandals converge, I just had that niggle of a feeling that there was just no way I could buy it all as ever having possibly happened to one couple. All that said, there is a decadent, devilish, satisfaction that one can only get from watching the downward spiral of a highly sensationalized story, and Something Real definitely delivered in that arena, ensuring I remained entertained throughout the whole read.

Having finally realized her dream of getting a chance with her friend's brother, Sam, to only see it all shattered following one whopper of a misunderstanding, Liz is ready to move on in Something Real. Claiming she needs her space, she leaves Sam, though its the hardest decision she has ever made.

Months later, Liz still can't seem to move on with her life. Soon, however, it appears that Sam certainly has. Becoming every news commentator's dream, Sam becomes the spotlight of the media following the leak of a certain sex tape. But things are never quite what they seem, and that's just the beginning of a whole host of truths to be unveiled. Once all the scandal-filled dust settles, can their possibly be a "real" HEA laying in the wings?

Overall, I have to admit that I expected something different. Having really enjoyed the twisty, hot and suspense-filled beginning to Sam and Liz's relationship, I now was ready for the emotional growth and character building strength that it would take to overcome the devastating misunderstanding, and potentially news rocking scandal, revealed in Something Reckless. Therefore I was quite surprised when the book took yet another scandal-filled turn. It almost felt like the way to love in Something Real was the clearing of a mounting stack of obstacles. Nonetheless, perhaps in the spirit of an eye for eye, it takes one scandal to truly understand how someone else could possibly get involved in, and to help overcome, another. So, all in all, though I may have envisioned a different journey, I definitely am happy I read Something Real and, having fallen in love with Sam and Liz in Something Reckless, I most assuredly concur with the conclusion.

The conclusion to Liz and Sam's story was ok. I feel like the ending was rushed but overall I enjoyed seeing these two falter and get it together in the end. There was a bit of angst and a lot of manipulation by a crazy bitch.
I honestly dont know how anyone didnt see the crazy that was Sabrina. I mean she was a damned looney. I kind of wished George's character got more play because he seemed like the hottie guy next door. But Liz never stopped pining for Sam.
Sam was pretty good in the book. He's kinda an idiot but he finally pulled up his big boy pants to claim his girl. The ending was pretty quick and not that exciting but whatevs.

It wasn't exactly what I expected. This book was pretty hard for me to rate because I liked the story idea and also Lexi Ryan's writing style, but I was disappointed with the hero and heroine. There was no character development.

A weak hero + a weak heroine = Double messes

Here is Sam and Liz's tortured love and relationship.

Sam :
He loved her but he let her go. (without giving her a chance to explain.)
He wanted her but he couldn't forgive her.
He couldn't have her but he chased after her.
He used her but he didn't want to hurt her.
WHAT!!!???

Liz :
She loved him but she left him. (without trying to explain the truth.)
She wanted him but she didn't fight to win him back.
She couldn't have him but she never tried to move on.
She let him use her and she got hurt again and again.
WHAT!!!???
Why didn't you two just talk? If only they could trust each other, they would have handled things differently rather than let the 'bad guy' destroy their lives. I felt quite frustrated with this kind of love.

By the way, a twist ending was good enough for me to give this book 3 stars.

You'll need to batten down the hatches & hold on to your hats to make it through Something Real. A shot of whiskey & a cold shower may also help. To say this book is a tangled web of lies, deceit, family trauma, and heartache is an understatement. Sam & Lizzy have been through it all and found their way back to one another a few times. They have explosive sexual chemistry - there's no denying that. They ignite the bedroom and every other place imaginable. It's the relationship part they can't seem to get right. Throw in politics, family expectations, small town gossips, deceit, and a whole lot of unforeseen manipulation and a happy ever after is d*mn near impossible. Something Real was a wild ride - erotic, intense, painful, heartbreaking and yet somehow, still managed to instill me with hope. What a great ending to Sam & Lizzy's story! A Page Burner!

4.5 stars!

I love the way Lexi Ryan tells a story.
This was the perfect mix of heartbreak, scandal and HOTNESS!

It seems like the timing is never right for Sam and Liz. There's always something or someone trying to come between them. After the fallout in Something Reckless, Liz fled New Hope. Leaving behind Sam and all her friends and family. She's working on the governor's presidential campaign and just existing. Trying to forget about Sam. Even with a sexy neighbor next door, it's pointless. She's been in love with Sam forever.

"You've always been my girl."

Sam's life is pretty much in shambles. Liz is gone and politics are dictating his life. Just when he wakes up and realizes he wants something real with Liz, a past transgression comes back to haunt him. It's a tangled web of blackmail, lies and stolen moments. It's heartbreaking to see all the obstacles they have to overcome, but it's so worth it in the end.

"I want to take care of you. I want to put babies in your belly. I want us to grow old holding each other's hand."

One of the best things about Lexi Ryan's books is her ability to build up the anticipation. Throughout both of Liz and Sam's books, I was sitting on the edge of my seat, flying through the pages, dying to know if things would finally come together for them. With their history and the people around them interfering, its an emotional roller coaster. They share some really sweet moments and have insane chemistry, which makes for some seriously HOT scenes.

I'm hoping that we get to see more of Sam and Liz in Max's books. Did I mention how excited I am for his series? I love that each spin-off series sort of overlaps and includes characters that I have fallen for in the past. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Max.

Mon avis en Français

My English review

A découvrir !

Rosalie's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Leaving off of Something Reckless, the reader can’t wait to find out what happens to Liz and Sam. This book in the series wraps up Sam and Liz’s love story. Battling back and forth, with the political election part of their every wake and call moment of their lives, will what was meant to bring them together, actually tear them apart?

The constant tug and pull in this read keep the reader enthralled. Knowing more than both characters, most of the time, had me screaming, more than once, at each them, saying, “WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?”. The love between these two is undeniable and a force as strong as the gravitational pull keeping us grounded on Earth. Their love has survived so much, but can it survive what this book puts them through?

Twists and turns, heartaches and amazingly wonderful loving encounters, and mindbogglingly hot sex scenes make this read one you don’t want to miss. New Hope is a town that I have quickly fell in love with, along with the characters Lexi creates. This book adds layers on the characters, and gets us even closer to Sam and Liz. This is one you don’t want to miss!!

I felt like this author focused so much on all this additional drama and didnt focus on the romance part. I felt like there was no need to keep going back and forth (1 year before, etc)

I didnt love Liz for some reason. Sam was just okay but to me there wasnt really a love connection. I skimmed a few parts because I just felt like it was just one thing after another, obstacle after obstacle.

I despised almost everyone in his family but I guess this book just didnt do it for me. I feel like we needed probably less chapters on how the main characters were so miserable and more chapters on how everything got better and how they helped themselves overcome all of their obstacles. Eventhough this book didnt do it for me, I will gladly wait for the next story.

It's rare that I finish and book and don't like it by the end, but that was the case with this one. I hated both of the main characters. Hated how Sam kept making Liz feel, like she was a dirty little nothing, hated how Liz kept letting Sam walk all over her and become the other woman. You would think with the way things ended I would have been happy, because the right person got theirs. Instead I was just glad to be done with the book!

Ana: 4 stars! This was not at all what I was expecting! As most of you probably do, after I finish a book that’s part of a series, I attempt to figure out in my head where the author might take the story next. Especially if I love the first part (or parts) of the story, which I did here. In this case, however, Ms. Ryan managed to take things in a different direction than I was anticipating. For me, it was a foregone conclusion that the drama and twists of the first book would set up an angsty (if somewhat messy) road to healing and forgiveness. And, although some of that happened, I was completely shocked by the amount of new drama these characters faced. There were more unexpected twists and, certainly, the mountain of misunderstandings grew. I feel like this series would make a wonderful political series on the CW – one filled with drama, lust, twists, people you love…and people you love to hate! :)

As I did in the first book, I enjoyed both Liz and Sam and loved hearing the story from both of their points of view. The obstacles they both faced, most outside their control, were heartbreaking. And, although I did not always agree with their decisions, I could see why they made them. After all, I was in both their heads…but they didn’t know what the other was facing. I was surprised by the evil plans of one of the characters and fell totally in love with George, Liz’s new neighbor. Actually, I’d love to see him get his own story!! I also loved the glimpses we got into the characters from Ms. Ryan’s previous series, especially Hannah and my Nate (yes, I said my Nate!! :) ).

As always, I loved Ms. Ryan’s writing style and the way she brought the characters to life. I was very satisfied with the ending, although, for me, this book could have been a little longer…just so I could bask in the character’s love. If you enjoy a series filled with drama, angst, twists and turns, not to mention a very hot male lead, then this might just be the series for you. Let me know if you give it a shot!!

Celeste: 3.5 stars I love me some Sam Bradshaw and could not wait to start this book. The first installment lured me in with off the charts chemistry between Sam and Liz…but then the story ended and I was left hanging, desperately waiting for book 2. So when this was ready I was all over it, ready to dive in.

Something Real begins with Sam and Liz going their own ways because of the “incident” at the end of book 1. I understood that what happened was definitely a bit of a mind f*ck for both of them, but really, it wasn’t either of their faults so I didn’t know why they both walked away. This opened up the story to take on a whole new path and I have to admit, this time around the whole plot was just a little over the top for me. It was like everyone was blackmailing everyone, which spiraled to a whole new level of scandals, and if they all just came clean it would have been ok.

However, I still loved Sam, and I still loved Liz. Any time they were together I couldn’t get enough. Their chemistry was amazing and we got plenty of smexy times. They honestly could not physically resist the other one and it was fantastic. The air was thicker whenever they were together. *fans self* Thank goodness for this chemistry because it’s what made them realize that they just could not live without each other, and it pushed them through the drama to get to the other side.

As far as secondary characters go I need to talk about George. He has so much potential and deserves his own book…I just didn’t like his name and he was a bit of a doormat, but maybe that is because he hasn’t found the right woman yet. ;)

The ending made me sigh with relief because I just needed the secrets to come out. I was surprised at exactly how far it went, but then again it seemed to be the MO for one character. One storyline was never really wrapped up for me, and while it didn’t change the HEA, I would have loved to know what happened with Lilly.

Would I rec this? Yes, I loved the first installment and this did wrap up Sam and Liz’s story.

Happy reading!

We have already seen Sam and Lizzy already going through some challenges. The prologue of this one starts right after the big revelation at the end of Something Reckless. Then this story shifts forward as they try to pick up the pieces. Oh the drama, separation, miscommunication, hurt, and angst. Neither of them cope very well. Lizzy runs and throws herself into work and isolates herself. Sam has a few issues to deal with but also is spending quality time with a bottle. And just as these two miserable souls are thinking they should do something about it, they are hit with a new challenge.

Now they are thrust in the middle of a messy situation and in the spotlight. There are underlying political agendas, lies, manipulation, blackmail, and betrayal. But also love, lust, and passion between them that won't die. It is hard to tell who to trust. And they get swept all up in it again just as they are trying to come to terms with what they really want and need to be happy. But this new situation is one that might be the biggest challenge of all.

During this series I never doubted Sam and Lizzy's true feelings and connection. They had really good chemistry and they were definitely compatible in the bedroom, but I also always felt the underlying closeness and deep feelings they had for each other. But their happiness always seemed to be ruined by outside influences. It seemed like every time they were about to get to a happy place , something else would happen to pull them apart. But they also did have some conflicts that were exacerbated due to their own personality traits. Sam had a tendency to overreact, want control, could be stubborn, jealous, and unapologetic. But he also had his own set of insecurities and trust issues. But some of Sam's issues also came from his need to protect people and he would try to do "the right thing" but sometimes that ended up being the wrong thing for him and Lizzy. She was smart, sassy, and strong, but also insecure and tended to be a runner. And they were both so strong-willed that they hesitated to the be the one to make the first move at fixing situations.

And there were so many different people with their own agendas and motivations that were causing dissension in Sam and Lizzie's lives. It was truly a tangled web. But for all of the people that were against them, they also had a big group of supporters in New Hope as well. All of Lizzie's sisters and their spouses are a tight group that will stand together but will also be very honest in their opinions. Nix, Max, Cally, and Will rounded out their tight knit group of friends.

They have had a rocky road with lots of outside interference. Can they finally break away from it and just find a way to be happy together?

These two people definitely went on a roller coaster and ups and downs that covered a period of years. They had separations, miscommunication, hurt feelings, guilt, and situations that just got out of control. But all along I wanted to see them find a way to make it work. It was told in both points of view so we could understand their feelings and fears. There were definitely some twists and surprises throughout the series and this installment was no different. Some things definitely snuck up on me. I enjoyed the changing dynamics of the characters and how some story lines intertwined. There were several antagonists that I really disliked. And there were some others that did some questionable things, but I could tell had some good in them too. This was another engaging, sexy, emotional installment in the New Hope world. I loved touching base with all of the characters that we've come to know and love. Lexi Ryan teased a little bit with Nix and Max and I can't wait to see more of them in Playing with Fire.

I was definitely nervous upon starting this one, considering the way the last one ended! Liz was dealt a whopper of a surprise as to the true identity of riverrat and let me tell you it was NO BUENO. *shudder* And quite creeptastic. I was really unsure of how Sam and Liz's relationship would progress in this one (if at all) because of the big reveal, but man I did not expect them to have to deal with as much as they did! This book is one giant manipulation after another and the twists and turns kept on coming!

I was surprised by how much politics played in this one- I thought it would be more focused on Liz and Sam trying to repair their broken relationship, but it turned into much more than that. For these two to truly be happy, they have to deal with everything else that's been thrown at them. There are so many people against them it's kind of mind-boggling. Image is everything in this book and a huge scandal involving Sam has been brought to light and could end everything Governor Guy has worked to achieve. Sam is caught between what he feels he must do versus what he wants to do. He loves Lizzy, despite everything that happened, and wants to make things work with her.

Oh Lizzy. My heart ached for her. This whole riverrat debacle has taken so much from her: a job she loved, the guy she loved and wanted a life with, and it even took her away from New Hope, as she is working in Indianapolis. In the 5 months since it all went down, Lizzy has really been struggling. She isn't taking care of herself the way she should and even her neighbor seems to take notice. I was a little wary of him becoming something more with Liz, but I'm glad Ryan didn't go in that direction. Unfortunately, because of Sam's family's ties with the Guys', Liz can't avoid Sam forever, especially now that there's a scandal thrown into the mix. Sam hasn't been faring much better, but is now stuck between a rock and a hard place. He is forced to lie to the one person he doesn't want to lie to, and makes her feel degraded and he hates himself for putting her in that position. Logically, he knows he should let her go until everything is resolved, but he is too in love with her to do that.

I felt the ending was a bit too rushed for me though. We find out who is really pulling the strings and has been the master manipulator for far too long, and everything kind of just comes to an end. I felt the storyline with Asia fizzled out and I'm still left with questions concerning her. I was glad to see the New Hope girls and there is one relationship blossoming that I was pleasantly surprised by and am looking forward to reading in the future. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the way Sam and Liz's story ended, save for the lingering questions I still have. Ryan writes some sexy scenes between them and I really liked the forbiddenness that came attached to them this time around.

There is something about the way Ryan writes that turns me into this other person. A person who tears up, who’s heart beats rapidly, who’s breath catches when she reads. I’m not typically an emotional reader, yet Ryan’s books get to me. Every. Damn. Time.

At the end of Something Reckless, Liz and Sam are both heartbroken. Twisted circumstances and political games have laid ruin to the the shaky foundation their relationship was built on. Five months later is where Something Real picks up.

Liz is just going through the motions of life’s everyday tasks. A husk of the woman she once was. She misses Sam, she longs for a life like her sisters all have – happy marriages and babies. She could have that someday, with someone, but her heart won’t move past the man who didn’t trust her, didn’t fight for, threw her away.

Sam is coming to terms with his unyielding feelings for Liz, with the blame he undeservedly threw at her, with his callous treatment of her, her feelings and her heart. He’d do anything to have her back in his life but like every other time they’ve tried, a secret from the past threatens to ruin them all over again.

The first third of this book was a total emotional read for me. I felt everything both Sam and Liz felt. Especially Liz. But then they confront each other and something was missing for me. I got so angry that Sam didn’t fight for Liz, that Liz didn’t need him too. I was irritated that they could risk heartache all over again with so little care to the fragility of Liz’s heart. I wanted to throat punch Sam and smack sense into Liz.

Those were not feelings that dissipated quickly. I kept waiting for Liz to realize she deserved better…and she does eventually. I kept waiting for Sam to step up to the plate and find a way to fix everything. Sam lacked the conviction I needed from him, but I still love the guy for always trying to do the right thing, even when it’s so completely misguided.

That’s the only issue I had though, I just wanted more fight. Other than that, Something Real delivered everything I’ve come to expect from Lexi Ryan. Drama, raw emotion, real characters and twists – so many good twists!

Liz and Sam's story continues on in Something Real, a satisfying, highly dramatic conclusion to their series. What an ending it is! Filled with lots of drama, relationships and friendships get tested, secrets are hidden, lies are told, people are manipulated and somehow, despite everything that goes on, the truth is finally revealed and true love is redeemed.

After the cliffhanger ending of Something Reckless, Liz has left New Hope and is living in Indianapolis, working on Sabrina's mother's campaign. Sam isn't speaking to his father and has become distant. When a scandal breaks involving Sam, he tries to do the right thing but is lured into a conniving person's web of lies and deceit. Watching Liz, or the ghost of her former self, muddle through each day broken was disheartening. She took the break-up with Sam hard. Her sisters and friends try their hardest to break her out of her doldrums. When her hot neighbor George makes his attraction to her apparent, it was great to see her fight to come back to the land of the living. Along with her great friends, the old Liz begins to surface only to get hit with more lies. Except Liz is smarter than some give her credit for. Sam is tired of playing games and wants to come clean with Liz. The fundraiser scene showcased how he and Liz really care about each other (and the hotel room scene too). I did feel sorry for George and since I liked him, think it would be great if he received his own story in the future.

As much as I enjoyed the novel, the drama became a bit much and began to feel like it was there simply to keep the lovers apart. I have to give credit to Lexi Ryan for keeping me invested in these characters despite everything. I needed to know what happens to Liz and Sam and read the book in one sitting. The author has this wonderful way of exposing her characters so the reader can relate to their problems and the romance is always sexy. Sam wasn't my favorite Ryan hero and that's okay. I'm looking forward to the next book series featuring Max and Nix and already know I'm a Max fan. No matter what, I always enjoy my visits to New Hope and its vast array of intriguing characters and situations. Will we learn anything about Lilly too?

Let's talk about the cliffhanger that topped all cliffhangers in Something Reckless! WHO THE HELL SAW THAT COMING? I sure as hell didn't and I was absolutely SHOCKED! It was the most f*cked up ending with such a huge twist. It was absolutely brilliant but disgusting. I could not wait to see what would come of it in Something Real... I hate waiting for Lexi's books, but I wait patiently (who am I kidding, I'm impatiently waiting) because I just love her writing. She does tend to kill me with her brilliance though, I won't lie about that! She's always teasing us and crushing our hearts...

"You've always been my girl."

Holy Hell where do I begin? Sam Bradshaw, mmmm, Sam! He's dreamy, swoon-worthy and perfect, all in one amazing package. Sam is my favorite male lead in Lexi Ryan's books. His filthy mouth is very dangerous, dangerously panty melting, but he kept me drooling throughout the entire series. Liz is left a hot mess after discovering the major bombshell at the end of Something Reckless. She picks up and moves far enough away to not run into Sam on a daily basis while still working on the Guy campaign. Little does she know, Sam becomes heavily involved with Sabrina Guy, the daughter of the presidential candidate. How will Liz handle this new relationship Sam is in? Has he really moved on with someone else even though just a few short months prior, he was professing his love to Liz? There is so much heartbreak and so many emotions involved, I can't begin to describe. I will say that I wanted to smash my kindle SOOO many times that I lost count. I wanted to smash a certain person's face in also, I won't mention any names but i'm positive others will feel the same way.

"There's so much you and me, there's no air left when we share a room. There's always you and me."

As usual, another fabulous series by Lexi Ryan. One where there is friendship, love, heartbreak and lots of wild dirty sex! Need I say more? No doubt, i'm giving 4.5 scorching hot kisses for Liz and Sam's story. I can't wait to see what's in store for Max and Nix.

Something Real is the conclusion of Liz and Sam's story (Something Reckless) and a raw, sexy romance that will pull at your heartstrings!

Something Real picks up not too long after Something Reckless, which ended with a lot of heartache and feelings of betrayal. I was breathless by the end, and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next! At the start of our story, Liz is moping in Indianapolis with the political campaign while Sam is back in New Hope drowning in his sorrows. That campaign quickly brings them back together though and the tether of chemistry they have always shared is once again pulled taut. Unsurprising, hurt feelings and outside influences add plenty of knots to that tether, but it's impossible for Liz and Sam to stay away from each other for long. There is no denying that the love they share still burns strong. But will love be enough?

This was one gripping, yet frustratingly bumpy ride that I could not put down! You thought you knew Sam and Liz, but the author adds more intriguing layers onto our leading couple in Something Real. The characters love and vulnerability shimmer from the pages. The constant push and pull between them had me white-knuckling my kindle while the lack of honest communication that could have saved them so much agony destroyed me. I wanted to shout at them, "Stop! What are you doing?!". Needless to say, Lexi Ryan had no problem pulling me into the story! I even begin to question the outcome of Liz and Sam's relationship towards the end.

Riddled with oodles of delicious angst, magnetic characters, sizzling sex scenes, and biting tension, Something Real made for an all-night read that left me with a sappy smile at the end. The characters of New Hope are phenomenal, I am looking forward to Max and Nix's story next, coming this summer in Playing with Fire!

Going into this book all I am thinking is DAMN - how will all of this go down! I am so scared! lol

Something Real continues where we left off with Something Reckless. It is 5 months later and Sam still hasn't given Liz a chance to explain her side. But in another blow to any kind of reconciliation between Sam and Liz, a sex tape is leaked between Sam and another woman that could harm people's careers. While I don't agree with the actions taken to rectify this situation, I do understand how living in the limelight can put stresses onto your personal life causing you to do things you don't normally want to do.

Yes, I am being vague...lol...it's all purposeful so you can read the book! :)

With that being said, I am SO SO unbelievably sad for Sam and Liz because their connection to each other and their feelings are so real and their situation is torturous - not only for them but for me as a reader because all I wanted was for them to finally get their happy.

As we know in real life, life in politics is so full of lies that can destroy. And Sam and Liz and their feelings and relationship are right smack in the middle of it all?

I love mystery and suspense and while this book is the conclusion of Sam and Liz's story - I did enjoy this aspect of it because it added another interesting twist to this already captivating story.

I did feel that this book was slightly rushed in the end and would have liked to see more of this couple actually together but I love a good HEA and this couple SO deserves it and more!

I completely enjoy Lexi Ryan stories. She is a must click author for me that I will always read. I love all of the characters in this series and spin off series..its like visiting old friends and I look forward to MORE MORE MORE!

4.5 Cocktails.

In the emotional and somewhat nerve-wrecking ending to Liz and Sam's story, I found myself incredibly torn about whether or not these two could overcome all the obstacles in their way. You can feel the love these two characters had for each other. It was almost as if their love was a secondary character in the story. It was always there, peeking around a corner, waving a flag, saying "here I am, but I don't think I want to get mixed up in that," pointing at the mess that always seemed to be between Sam and Liz. The mess was epic, was a result of some disturbed individuals, but also because of Liz and Sam themselves.

Liz and Sam are perfect for each other, but they have in incredibly annoying knack of letting others determine what they should do and they both can't quite seem to bring up things that are important in a relationship. They're both quick to believe the worst in the other and then beg for forgiveness when they realize they were wrong. And as heartbreaking as it was to follow these two and their inability to get it together, it was also frustrating. I often found myself yelling at my kindle, telling Liz to stop being a freaking doormat or demanding Sam grow some freaking balls and stop the insanity. The eventually get it right, but it's a roller coaster of an emotional ride that had me making all sorts of deals with my kindle hoping it would end as I want.

Another fabulous book revolving around the characters of New Hope. Lexi Ryan, knows how to write a story that can drive me over the edge and then just when I'm about to give up all hope, make me believe in the hero and heroine again.

Oh this was truly depressing into about 80% in the book. I know that is the worst first sentence ever but it is so true.

Throughout this three book series I have been just thrown all over the place with my emotions. So what I want to happen actually happens but then you just twist around and does something oust and then he goes back to what how I want it and I am just so emotionally drained. Will I still request or recommend this book of course I will because it has some good quotes and things in it.

The characters are written very well. Somethings don't really make sense in this last book but overall it was written very well. Some people just get on my nerves so very much but that is how The store just goes.
Liz's friends in this book is amazing! I love her friends and I wish they were mine!

Honestly the first half of this book was depressing. I don't know that she is me, but it was just so depressing. But not a good depressing, it was an annoying depressing. If that makes any sense at all. But that's what I thought, it was depressing for half of the book!

Plot was written very well. The ending event in this book, I would not say what it is, but the ending of it in this book was not written well from my point of view. I feel as though it could have been written better, but again just my point of view on that one.

This review kind of sums up the entire series for me so I will not be making of a review for the first book but I will be marking what my star is for that. For this book I Will give a four stars out of five. It was good but could have been better.

I've been anxious to see what would happen with Liz and Sam after the cliffhanger at the end of the last book. I can honestly say, I was completely taken by surprise at the path the characters went down in this book. It was full of twists, turns and revelations. (And sexy times, of course.) There was a healthy dose of angst and misbehaving characters that made me want to hurl my iPad. (But only because I liked them and wanted the best for them and the things they were doing were DEFINITELY not best.)

Despite their best effort to make me insane during this book, I really liked Liz and Sam. She's reeling from all she lost after learning the true identity of her cyber hookup, Riverrat. I felt so bad for her. She made some mistakes, but she certainly didn't deserve to lose all she did over it. She probably drove me less crazy than Sam did during this one. From where I sat, Sam was just flat out self-destructive. He was making all kinds of horrible decisions and I wanted to shake some sense into him.

Something Real was a solid read. Liz and Sam were traveling a bumpy road, but I never stopped hoping it would lead them back together. I'm sad to see this series come to an end, but can't wait for the next spinoff series with characters from Lexi's New Hope gang!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I was very pleased with this second book for Sam and Liz. Our couple have been through the wringer more than once and with a huge amount of distrust and doubt, I was thrilled to see them still want to fight for their well-deserved happiness.

This is quite the roller coaster ride yet I enjoyed the complexities of the storyline and all the twists and turns. All the New Hope crew were present along with some less than savory characters. Each contributed greatly to this sexy and passionate love story and I enjoyed every page.

This is a great read that is well worth your time. A series that I really enjoyed.

A solid 4 stars.

WOW. Every time I read a Lexi Ryan book I forget how freaking HAWT the scenes are....even when the characters aren't actually having sex. Just having Liz & Sam on the same page is scorching.

I really enjoyed this 3 book series....hot chemistry, great characters, good storyline. My only complaint...I think it wrapped up a little too quickly and a little to easily. Other than that though - I loved it!
