After a disastrous gallery opening, Roan needs out of London society fast and Hallow's Cove needs someone to fix up the town art centre. It should be a perfect fit, but after a damp reception from the monster residents Roan is worried she’ll never outshine her royal lineage, especially when rumours spread she might be more scam than artist.
Clay and Mitch are content with their life in Hallow's Cove, even without an Omega to complete their Wolven pack. Who has time to date when they're trying to keep their business afloat in the off season? But one whiff of the new artist in town, and both Wolven realise she’s their fated Omega.
After a few fumbled, flirty conversations and an impromptu poetry night, Clay and Mitch finally share their feelings with Roan, but is she prepared for pack dynamics? And can she convince Hallow's Cove that she's the right woman for the job?
This is a cozy, sweet and steamy monster romance novella that takes place in the small town of Hallow's Cove, a shared world in a multi-author series. Wolves and Whipped Cream features a plus-size royal FMC, a sunny, nerdy Wolven MMC, a grumpy plus-size Wolven MMC in an MMF omegaverse dynamic. Please check the content warnings on the author's website or in the book sample.

4.5 stars I love big bois and Clay was an adorable big boi. He and Mitch were a super sweet couple and Roan was def a positive addition to their relationship. She was insecure, sweet, and determined to prove her own worth to herself. She made some bold moves despite her fears and it was wonderful to see her open up to Mitch and Clay. Mitch was a mischievous optimist and I was a fan of the glasses. The story was cozy and lovely.
Spice: 5/5
Triggers: toxic parent, toxic family, being disowned, internalized fat phobia, reference to prior fat shaming comments, financial insecurity
Another story in the lovely village of Hallow's Cove . This is a town full of different people and monsters all living together. This story is about the two wolves and owners of the Cafe in town. This can be read as a standalone, for more background read vacationing with the vampire first and then you should be able to get the full experience!
“But family isn’t just the people who raise you. It’s who you choose to surround yourself with, who you know will be in your corner.”
Roan's accepted a job in the small town, Hallow's Cove and there she met mated wolves, Clay and Mitch, who owned a coffee shop and wanted her to be part of their pack.
“Do you need me to get the tigress balm?” Mated in Manhattan
Okay, those puns were so funny.
Enough about that.
I'll be honest and say that I did not vibe with this book. I cannot pinpoint exactly why but there are just some things that didn't resonate well with me.
This book is probably my least favorite out of the published one yet and that makes me sad because I adore this series.
This was a cosy and sweet story of a woman trying to build a new life free from the constraints of her upbringing, and the two handsome wolven who are sure she's meant to be theirs.
Roan moves to Hallow's Cove to get away from a disaster in her professional life and a revelation about her family life. She just wants to disappear to a new place and open a community art space. When she meets the two wolven across the street, they instantly know she's their omega, meant to complete their pack. But how can they pursue her without scaring her off?
There was so much to enjoy here, the sweet, supportive, and caring relationship between three, the way Roan fights to come into her own space and take charge of her life, and the hot and spicy times! I also really appreciated the body positive rep and the way all three main characters were seen as beautiful and handsome.
This is another great read in the Hallow's Cove series!
⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️ (4.5⭐️) I already adore this series so I was excited for this trio's wonderful story. Roan was speaking to my heart from her self-doubt and struggles about believing in herself and her artwork, GIRL SAME. Despite the heartache of her family I was ready for her to fall into the arms of her chaotically fun Alpha and Beta. Clay and Mitch are so different and at the same time so perfectly balanced, all they needed was Roan's bratty nature and to be able to focus that attention and spoil her to bring them all together in harmony. From their dynamics, discovering their Omega and disastrously trying to flirt after a miscommunication about their relationship status, I loved every second. I would gladly be in a wolven sandwich between these two older wolves ready to dote on a loving third partner, but I guess Roan was meant to be theres from the very begining!
I'm loving this monster town and every story in it. This book was sooo good to read and gave me all the feels. Clay and Mitch are the most adorable wolven and Roan just completes them. I hope to see more of them around town in books yet to come. I'm in love, im obsessed 😍😍😍
But mostly in the sense that I don't usually go for books where the love interests of MMCs are full on fur-covers beasts! It was a process to imagine the whole thing, and to be honest there were some concesiong to be made. But it was a beautiful book - even if the whole Age Gap thing made me soooo uncomfy! But I'm better with it when it's supernatural romances, and there's a literal werewolf involved lol.
Def recomend it if you're looking for a MMF romance that has an established MM married couple looking to keep the new girl in town for themselves!
This book felt like a real let-down after the rest of this series. I’m happy to say that it grew on me as it went on (and I’m glad I didn’t put it down without finishing it, because it was worth the full read through), but it dragged a lot plot-wise, especially for the first half, and I found the characters extremely exhausting.
Maybe it’s just that I deeply despise the Poor Little Rich Boy (or girl, in this case) archetype but I’ve never read a character I wanted to slap more than Roan. “Oh the world was handed to me on a silver platter but I have deep imposter syndrome because of it, woe is me. I have a massively manipulative mother and I’ve never been loved before” shut up. SHUT UP.
It’s duller than dishwater and it’s a story we’ve all read a thousand times—and not in a good way. It’s cliched and unrelatable, and I’ve just about never read an author who pulls off writing rich-kid ennui in a way that’s believable. This didn’t make the mark.
Further, Clay and Mitch really didn’t read as two distinct characters to me—neither felt like they had a voice of their own. I know a lot of authors are lazy about character voice (especially romance writers, it feels), but the whole point of a first person perspective is to give your character a unique voice. If you can’t manage that: write in third person. There’s no point in shifting narrators if there isn’t a noticeable shift in perspective and voice.
In general, characterization just felt really lacking here. No figure in this book felt memorable, personable, or even all that alive to me, and there was minimal character growth overall. Hell, by the time I was done reading I was much more invested in Ted (gossipy, judgemental side-character) than in any of the main characters in the book. He did more growing & learning “off-screen” (so to speak) than any of our trio of lovers did.
I really, really wanted to like this book. But honestly there was a grand total of one scene that “worked” for me and left me invested in the characters. And it came near the end of the book. (The live figure drawing scene, btw). The body positivity in the book was great, and especially so in that scene. But body positivity can’t carry a weak narrative with non-memorable characters. The story just wasn’t there.
A final note: introducing Roan’s brother at the end of the story for the first time and having him attempt to manipulate her was such a weak point. If you want a scene like that to have any gravitas you need to establish some sort of a connection between the characters and create a sense of their history.
Honestly the whole book felt flat because of poor storycraft like that.
I think what bums me out a bit is that with a solid developmental edit this could have been a great romance novel. There was clearly a good proofreader involved (something that puts it head and shoulders above a lot of Kindle Unlimited offerings), but it still needed more.
I try not to leave low starred reviews on self-published or indie-pubbed work (for algorithmic reasons) but this would rank somewhere around 2 stars for me.
please see this is an ARC review and the book was so kindly given to me by the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Wolves and Whipped Cream is a sweet and spicy addition to the At Hallows Cove series and I think so far it may just be one of my favorites.
The story Centers around Roan, an artist trying to find her footing in a new place while trying to get out from under the shadow that her family name places on her, and Mitch and the Clay, the 2 wolven owners of the town coffee shop.
What I think I loved most about this book really was the age of the characters. As someone in her 30s it always feels like a breath of fresh air to me to have characters in the stories that I read that moreso reflect where I am in my life. I giggled when the guys would mention how they hated their knees cracking, or how they just didn't have the same energy and stamina they did when they were 20, and I related to that so hard. Roan was also a character that was easy to really love, appreciate and relate to I think. Her drive to do things on her own, even to her own detriment stuck with me. Probably because I'm the same way. The 3 leads had a wonderful dynamic and overall I just loved them so much. As it has been as the series has gone on, we always get small glimpses of the town we have grown to love and the characters that we have met previously, and it was a joy getting to go back and get a taste of Maisie and Barnaby again (probably because I loved them haha).
Overall this was a perfect addition to this series and what makes it so fun. It was full of passion and love, found family and healing.
Welcome back to Hallow’s Cove!! Author Ash Raven has swooped in and given us a very special treat. Not only is this story an MMF, but these three have an OMEGAVERSE DYNAMIC!!
Roan is a new artist in town who wants to prove she can make it on her own without her parents help. She now has an entire arts center to remodel, but the cute wolves at the cafe across the road might just make things a bit more complicated. Clay & Mitch have been mated since they were young, and friends for even longer. While they’re perfectly happy together, a part of them is starting to lose hope that they’ll ever find their fated omega to join their pack. That is until one day, the newcomer steps in to their cafe…and they INSTANTLY knew she was their fated mate. But she’s human…how can they explain this to her without scaring her away? With some good ol’ fashioned courting of course!
As with all of the previous books in this marvelous multi-author series, this is a super spicy and cozy read that will have you hooked from the start. I am absolutely obsessed with this story and cannot recommend it enough! Seriously, a sincere apologies to my friends because I haven’t shut up about this book. This was a read that I was genuinely giddy over the entire time and ended up reading it all in one sitting.
Whether you’re new to the Hallow’s Cove series or not, be sure you check out “Wolves & Whipped Cream”!!
This book has two of my favorite things: Big Boys and MMCs in glasses. So obviously, I was in heaven.
Roan is British, while our two wolven MMCs are Southern American. I loved that the writing in each character's chapter reflected their culture and dialect. Roan's chapters used Bristish English terms, and Mitch and Clay's chapters use more Southern American English (although there are some british spellings throughout). As a dialect enthusiast, I really appreciated that aspect. It's a minor pet peeve when slang from other dialects is written for characters not using that dialect. I think the only one I noted was Mitch saying ground floor and first floor. Overall, it's commendable that this book reflects both dialects well.
Also, the misinterpretation of "hole in the wall" was one of my favorite types of miscommunication - it's not a lack of communication, just forgetting that idioms can be very regional!
Another cute and spicy novella set in Hallow’s Cove. Human Roan is an artist who grew up in London always in the shadow of her high society-driven mother, a mid level royal. Roan longs to break free from her family’s legacy in the art scene, so she flies an ocean away to refurbish and reimagine the long neglected art center in the heart of Hallow’s Cove.
Wolven alpha and beta Mitch and Clay immediately recognize Roan as their perfect omega who completes their pack, but it will take some convincing to get her to give them a shot at building a nest together, especially with Roan’s fear of professional failure and a chronically disapproving, overboard mother looming large behind the scenes.
I was furnished an advance reader copy from the author, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.
Thank you so much to the author for the earc, all opinions are my own.
We had previews to the wolven duo that ran the coffee shop in the previous book, and I loved getting a closer look. They were high school sweethearts and now in their 40s, a bonded alpha and beta. One day their omega just walks in the front door of their shop. Roan came from London, fleeing her rich family to set out on her own, and was hired to renovate the art gallery in Hallow's Cove.
This was great, sweet romance with the pack dynamics, plus size rep, and more characters in Hallow's Cove.
Can we just start off by saying that just the amount of incredible authors alone in this series is outstanding... then factor in all of their stories...it's absolutely EPIC!
I literally counted down for this book! One it's wolves...which usually means omegaverse dynamic & knots!(some of my favorite tropes) AND it's WHY CHOOSE... it's literally my kryptonite! My thoughts: -This was such a sweet and cozy read with some pretty yummy spice to go with it! -I loved the dynamic of the MMCs and how well they complimented each other...they were adorable. -I enjoyed how determined and fierce the FMC is, how despite her upbringing she wanted to accomplish something on her own... and how she wasn't afraid to work for it. -But what I loved the most was when these three finally gave into their feelings and flourished as a pack together. -Not only was it sweet, but it was HOT!!! And they work great as a team! -I love how this little monster town is so supportive on one another and how we've manage to see so many of them find their HEA!
One of the first things I was excited about was the fact that the characters were all a little older. As a reader in their 30s it is nice to read about characters with some life experiences. Often, I was nodding along with Clay as they mentioned some back pain or laughing when the characters mentioned something about not having the energy they used to. Also I loved how body positive this story was for both the MMCs and FMC. It was so nice to experience.
My goodness I just loved reading about these three and their romance! Definitely worth a read.
Cute and to the point. It was fun seeing how characters from other books in this series were used. The way the page after the ending hits you up to subscribe to a newsletter to get the steamy scene you expected to be in the book... loved that. That's how you get subscribers.
It was a adorable book with lots of quirky details that made it more real! There was spice that was great and the connections were deep. I loved that communication was so important and the story really moved along so well. I could keep reading about these characters forever.
This was literally so damn cute and wholesome. I was not expecting to tear up reading an omegaverse book titled Wolves and Whipped Cream… but she really got me with the found family in this one 🥹
Roan wants to make a life for herself and build her career as a community artist using her own merits and not her family's name and money. To do so, she decides to take a residency in Hollow's Cove, where she'll be rebuilding the community centre.
This is another cute story set in the cosy monster town of Hollow's cove. I love how every new inhabitant not only finds love but also improves the living conditions of the town and the people living there. Clay and Mitch were adorable partners and exactly what Roan needed to boost her confidence. The story features plus size main characters and shows how one of them grapples with body insecurities as he's gained some weight over the years. I appreciated how the story focused on different types of insecurities and how people are so much more than their own perceived flaws.
A cute and almost cozy story of a human (royalty, no less) moving to a town filled with supernatural creatures to try and finally step out of the shadow of her family and succeed on her own. I loved how the town rallied around, and her two wolves were so ready from the first moment to claim their mate.
DNF at 62%. I found the FMC to be immature and whiny (she’s 26 years old and calls intercourse “real sex sex” like babes grow up).
The two wolves were fine if predictable and flat. I’ve 🩷adored🩷 this series so far but this book was hard to get through because it was so slowly paced and just didn’t click for me.
And I never want to read about how someone smells like a blueberry ever again (it kept making me cringe).
"I will prove to them all my art career is serious, and something I want to do for the rest of my life. Nobody will know who I am and nobody will look at me differently. This is my chance for my talent to shine unburdened." - Roan
Roan's done with London and finding out she's still been under her mum's thumb! She hops on a plane and heads to Hallow's Cove where a new job is ready for her. One that will prove to everyone that she's serious about this endeavor and it isn't some silly little hobby! The Art Centre in Hallow's Cove will be her fresh start and catalyst for a hopefully long career. But Roan isn't used to small towns were the gossip train runs wild, and her family's titles and wealth has been found out. . .
She tries to ignore the rumors and the sinking feeling that this may have all been a huge mistake. Luckily, she's already made friends within the community and caught the eyes of two Wolven men. Two wolves who state she's their Omega and they'd like to court her?!! Maybe life in this smalltown is about to turn around for her!
"“Steal anything you like,” I blurt out. My wallet, my pants, my heart." - Mitch
This review is hard to write because there's so much, I want to say but don't want my review to be longer than the actual read! I love this series because it features different authors, and you get to meet them and their writing styles! This is my first read from Ash and I will definitely be reading more from them! I didn't expect to cry as much as I did with this read!
"Every painting I create, a little piece of my soul is mixed with the oils and canvas. I can’t just give up on all those little parts of me." - Roan
That above statement is why AI will never take over for humans in the creative world! I've read many books, and I can feel a piece of the author's souls within. Some reads I feel it more strongly than others regardless there is always a piece there! This read felt like a large part of Ash's soul was within. I also just really connected with this book!
Roan, I wanted to climb into the book and hug! I went through a lot of similar things that she did and some of the same heartaches. Cutting cords and walking away from things hurts regardless of how it's done. Roan's parents are horrible, and her mum takes every opportunity to do digs at Roan and her artwork. I'm proud that Roan didn't shut down or leave her art behind. Instead, she chased after it determined to never let anyone take it from her!
I loved the two Wolven men and non cliche tropes we got with them! Clay and Mitch both pushing forty and not able to do things they could when they were twenty. I adored the fact that Clay is an Alpha, but he doesn't have the eighteen pack and body builder physique. He's a baker and very much enjoys eating what he makes! Mitch is the fun Beta with dramatic, sarcastic moments that made me laugh. I loved their dynamic and the non-sexual, intimate moments the two had together. Both wanting an Omega to complete their trio but also scared that it will hurt them.
Do read through the CWs. This book does contain language throughout, there's intense moments of emotions, feelings of failure/self-doubt, mental breakdowns, and more. Small town and the gossip/rumor mill that hurts Roan a little. I don't think it's talked about enough but when you choose to cut off from family or parents there's a grieving period. Mention of past manipulation and parental trauma. Current parental manipulation and showing of what lengths they will go through to get what they want. . . Moments of waiting for the last shoe to drop so you can beat yourself up with it.
This read just really got to me and my past experiences! Great writing to invoke such deep emotions! I promise it has so many wonderful healing moments, growth, found family, and a beautiful ending! I respected an interaction between Roan and another member of the town toward the end. How a truce was met but neither were just instantly hugging and declaring a grand friendship.
""Just ’cause fate matched us together, don’t mean we’re instantly perfect.”"
I respected this twist and take on fated mates. Dynamics changing a bit and all of them trying to figure out what it means to have an Omega within the trio. Roan adjusting to the new lifestyle and being an Omega. Understanding what Wolven packs are about and what roles they all play. And not in a BDSM lifestyle way. Wolven packs are more primal and instinctual based. We do get very spicy scenes with MM, MFM, and MMF! The homework Roan got sent home with is hilarious and I actually need to redo that test!
This book doesn't spoil any of the other stories! We do get cameos, and I love how Barnaby and Maisie are a little more involved with this installment! Barnaby's actually coming out of his shell more and I think he secretly loves all the new residents! Roan rising higher up on his list, plus Maisie approves of Roan! I want to move to Hallow's Cove and glue myself to Roan! Drawing and laughing together and definitely getting a tattoo with her!
I have to stop! Enjoy this read that has so much healing, three POVs, wonderful moments, tears, and blueberry treats! Don't forget to give the author some stars!
Huge thanks to Ash Raven and the other Hallow’s Cove authors for the gifted ARC
Wolves and Whipped Cream at Hallow’s Cove by Ash Raven is part of the Hallow’s Cove series of books based in and around the monster-inhabited town of Hallow’s Cove.
Roan is looking to get out of London, fast. Luckily, Hallow’s Cove is looking for someone to work their magic on the town’s arts center. A jump across the pond is just what Roan needs to get her life, and art career, back on track. She is hoping that no one will look too hard into her background, but it seems like the rumor mill has already started.
Mitch and Clay love running their cafe in Hallow’s Cove, each taking to tasks that suit their interests. But there’s something missing. Wolven packs are made up of three members: alpha, beta, and omega. For the past 20 years, it’s just been Clay and Mitch, alpha and beta. But, after their long search for their omega has turned into one rejection after another, they’ve all but given up. Until one day, a newcomer steps into town, smelling like home for them both.
When you’ve got nerdy sunshine Mitch and grumpy baker Clay asking Roan out on a date, how could she refuse? Have Clay and Mitch finally found their omega?
For those that are new to the series, this story doesn’t rely heavily on already established characters from the previous books in the series, though they do show up. It’s not required, but I highly recommended reading the series in order to get the full immersion of the town.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ four out of five! This is my favorite of the series so far. It was syrupy sweet and edged with passion. Scent played a huge role in this story and it made everything seem so scrumptious. The descriptions had my mouth watering.
Roan’s insecurities are relatable, as are Clay’s. And I loved reading about their little pack’s dynamic and how they work through each member’s wants, needs, and fears. The story is a “kick your feet” adorable monster romance without being a toothache or obnoxious. I wanted to hug all of them.
It was so refreshing to (mentally) step into a town so quirky, accepting, and full of life. You really got the sense of community. The story is basically a warm hug and a hot cup of tea (or your beverage of choice!).
If you enjoy short, sweet, and steamy stories with a found family, acceptance, a little bit of grumpy/sunshine, and plus-sized main characters, Wolves and Whipped Cream at Hallow’s Cove is for you!
Everyone is finding their mate in Hallows Cove and every story has me kicking my feet with glee. Thank you so much @authorashraven for writing this beautiful ARC.
Roan is an artist trying to find her independence from her royal family name and toxic mother. Conveniently, Hallows Cove needs their town's art center fixed up and she's just the gal for the job. Dodging rumors of her being a potential scammer, she stumbles upon Clay and Mitch who although happy in their Alpha, Beta relationship, have been praying to one day find their Omega. One blueberry whiff and they both know Roan is the woman for them. Now they just need to convince her of their Wolven affections. This novella was sweet as pie, steamy, and extremely cozy to read. I love a book with no third-act breakup. This throuples communication skills were peak. Clay's intense desire to take care of Roan and Mitch's injection of humor and play was a perfect balance. I loved reading the history between the two. Mitch is the perfect sunny character who sleeps in and sometimes jumps before he acts. Clay used to be the fit football star, but since moving has gained some noticeable weight and insecurities around his role as an alpha. Most of my audience knows by this point I love a big boy with a bigger heart. ♥️ Roan is the buttery crust on the top of their sweet pie. Her kind heart, strong moral center, and passion for the ones she loves are intoxicating. She faces things head on and I admired that about her. There is lots of heat in this one with tons of spicy scenes. I was thrilled to see the return of Barnaby and Maisie, their friendship with Roan had my heart swelling and once again, I found myself wanting to vacation in this town.
Highly recommended read for someone who loves monster romance with an omegaverse dynamic.
