What if your life turned into a real romcom? Based on a true story, Nataly has always dreamed of that head-over-heels, butterflies-for-breakfast, dancing-in-the-rain kind of love. Instead? She’s got Joel. He’s… fine. He’s nice. He’s safe. And then there’s Nathan.
Charming. Mysterious. Full of adventure and quiet intention. The connection between them is instant. Impossible to ignore. One little problem: she’s already dating someone else.
Torn between a safe choice and a once-in-a-lifetime connection, Nataly must decide where her heart truly belongs. Play it safe… or risk it all for a love story she never saw coming.
Set against the dreamy streets of London and the wild beauty of Northern Ireland, London, Love & a Little Something Irish is a heartwarming, funny, and swoon-worthy romance about trusting God’s timing, following your heart, and finding the kind of love that feels like coming home.
Perfect for fans of swoony slow burns, viral-worthy meet-cutes, and clean romance that still gives you butterflies.
What an absolute delight! It has gone into the favourites category:) This is a sort of fiction but pretty much based on her own actual romance so I also classed it as true stories. I laughed out loud several times, smiled ,and "aawwwed" at other times. Despite being a bit of a cynic when it comes to romance/rom coms; I thoroughly enjoyed this one and wanted to order it right away, which I did obviously. It sounded so darling indeed and it was a pleasure. I wanted to check it out myself first for curiosity plus buy it for my own 22 year old as she normally loves romance.
I was impressed not only as she was a debut author (the shorter length instead of being dragged out as some can be) but with the tremendous spiritual elements and content woven++ and so perfectly throughout. She touched on how doing the kindest thing, not only for others but ultimately oneself, isn't always easy but healthier for everyone...plus the trusting God who desires the best for us and knows what would lie ahead. It's what an actual Christian book ought to be really; one not afraid to mention Jesus etc yet not a "preachy" one per say either... the mmc Nathan was such a great example of how to be a respectable young man.
I can certainly recommend this book for anyone really but especially for any single young women. I will gladly read any future books by her!
💖 Release Date: June 3, 2025 💖 . . . This is such a special book—first, because it’s the first book I’ve ever beta read, which was such a fun experience; and second, because it’s based on a TRUE story! That just makes it even more fun, in my opinion☺️ Nataly did a fantastic job on her debut novel, and I think all you die-hard romance lovers—and anyone waiting for their Prince Charming—should go give this book a read!
Nataly was definitely my type of girly-girl so I found myself relating to her in quite a few areas. She’s someone that I think a lot of girls will be able to relate to in at least one aspect of life ☺️ I love how much growth she portrayed throughout this story—especially towards the end—and the fact that she ALWAYS strived to put God first. Though she made mistakes that she later regretted, Nataly didn’t let that hold her back from embracing her best future—with God at the helm!
I think I can speak for all the girlies when I say that I loved that Nathan had a motorcycle! Something about a man on a bike just makes him that much more appealing 😏 The fact that he was an absolute gentleman definitely endeared his character even more to me, and I was hardcore rooting for him and Nataly to get their HEA! I loved that Nathan was the one that ended up falling first in this special romance ♥️
Read it for: 🇬🇧 Based on a true love story 🇬🇧 Personalized playlist 🇬🇧 Cute & swoony moments 🇬🇧 God-first mindset 🇬🇧 Lots of movie references 🇬🇧 Slow burn romance—he falls first 🇬🇧 Beautiful HEA ♥️
This was such a cool way to get a look into London living! This had a bit of a love triangle. Nataly is with Joel who is safe & comfortable but she’s not really in love with him. She’s hoping feelings will come eventually. She meets Nathan and they quickly begin a friendship. She grows a lot during this book & begins to figure out who she is and what she wants. I appreciate how Nathan stepped aside and let her work out her feelings, and also how he pushed her outside of her comfort zone. She tried new things she never would have if it wasn’t for him. This is a new to me Author and I enjoyed this one. I especially loved that it was the Author’s true love story!
Quotes -
As I stand there, clutching my wallet like a lifeline, I look up—and he’s still there. Not rushing me, not judging me. Just… steady. And it hits me like a freight train: this is what it feels like to be seen. Really seen.
Even if every muscle in my body is tense with the effort of not going after what I already know is mine. Because she is. She just doesn’t fully know it yet.
But I also want her to live. To chase adventure. To step into fear and come out on the other side stronger. I want to help her use her wings and fly at every moment I can get.
Content - No foul language Kissing only Bar/alcohol mentions Love triangle
Knowing this is based on the author’s real love story made me love it even more! Nataly’s in London, ready for real love—but stuck in a no-spark relationship… until Nathan (and his muscles 👀) shows up.
They start as friends (she’s taken!), but the chemistry is undeniable. He sees her, listens to her, and makes her feel truly known. 🥹 She hates conflict, but knows what she has to do—and thank goodness she does!
I loved everything about this book! 🥰 For this to be the author’s debut, plus it being based on a TRUE STORY??! It’s a win-win! I loved the main FMC, Nataly. I thought that she was such a girly girl, and was so relatable! I loved how she strived to put God first in everything. Although she made mistakes, which she later regretted, she didn’t let those mistakes stop her from not going after what God had for her! I loved hearing about the UK, too! I don’t know much about London, yet the author made it sound like a beautiful place. 🇬🇧
And oh, Nathan??! 🥹😍 He was such a gentleman. The way that he took the time to pursue Nataly in a way that honored her was so sweet to read! I loved that he had a motorbike! 🤭 I thought that was very different from what I’ve read in other books. He pushed Nataly out of her comfort zone, while allowing her to take her time. He paid attention to the little details (the dolphin he brought her!! 🥹🥹) He truly cared and loved her for who she was! He’s the perfect example of Prince Charming in every way!
I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves happy endings, meet-cutes, and faith elements! I can’t wait to read whatever this author puts out next! ❤️
This book was super sweet. I love that it’s a true story of the author and her husband’s relationship. Also, it’s so refreshing to read a clean romance book with Christianity ties. I would definitely recommend it to any young girl! This is the kind of book I’d want my future daughter to read.
As a long time follower of Nataly on instagram I was SO excited when she announced that she was writing a book about her love story! I really connected to this book as I am also someone who is an American dating an Irishman that lives in London. It’s the best type of relationship if you ask me!!
Nataly and Nathan’s love story was truly captivating! This book embodied everything from funny moments to serious conflicts and conversations. I loved that Nataly incorporated some truly iconic London landmarks and popular restaurants in London such as Peggy Porschens and Duck and Waffle!! Her descriptive narratives really make the reader feel like they are in London!
I highly recommend this book to any reader that is a fan of an epic love story, pop culture references, and London settings! Congratulations Nataly on this amazing book and thank you so much for letting me read it in advance of the release date!
Listen Goodreads 😮💨 I am in no way, shape, or form a cheesy romance hater. BUT 🤦🏻♀️ this 🤦🏻♀️ book 🤦🏻♀️ I fear the problem is that people equate cheesy romances with poor quality writing and that is simply not the case. You can have a cheesy cute love story (which this one DID) AND have good writing (which this one DID NOT).
Between confusing sentence structures, duplicate explanations of things previously detailed, completely unrealistic dialogue (“… really like your body language on stage…your hand movements are good” ?!?!?!), and OH M G the lack of a thesaurus, this book gifted me with many an eye roll and sigh-out-loud moments. And the character development… well… I’m still waiting for it to develop.
I really really wanted to like this book. Don’t get me wrong, I thought the story itself was cute (Nataly and I would be besties irl). And I get wanting to write in a casual tone. But this. Well let’s just say it was reminiscent of a book I wrote in the sixth grade, but with a slightly more cohesive plot.
To end my review, here are some out of context annotations I made whilst reading. I had to make it exciting for myself somehow 🤷🏻♀️
“do… do you… do you live under a rock?” “are you talking about her curves or her heritage, I am lost 😭” “this, dear author, was an inside thought and should not have been put on paper”
What a delight! This book is as cute as it is heartfelt — a genuine, joy-filled retelling of Nataly’s own love story that had me smiling from start to finish. Her voice is so authentic and warm, you feel like you’re sitting across from a friend. ❤️
When I saw the offer to get an advanced reader copy of the book and that it was the author’s own love story, I immediately wanted to read it! It only took me 2 days to read it so it was an easy read and I didn’t want to put it down.
There were a few instances in the book where I felt like things were repeated. Not a big deal overall.
This was a swoon-worthy romance by a debut author and I hope she writes more. Her personality comes out in her writing and she is someone I would love to be friends with. If you love an awesome “don’t settle, wait for God’s best” romance, then pick this one up!
All opinions and ideas are my own. A positive review is never required.
I wanted to love this one. I really did. I’m very quick at judging books by their covers, and the cover is amazing. And the story line sounded amazing. I don’t often DNF… I will push through, even if I don’t care for the book, because usually I’ve committed to review in exchange for an ARC.
But… I couldn’t get past the cheating. And that’s really what it was. ‼️Privately communicating in a flirtatious manner with one guy, while being in a committed relationship with another is cheating.‼️
I get it, this happens in real life, and this is based on real life, but… no one wants to read about the MCs cheating, not in a Christian novel! Further, Nathan says he won’t pursue Nataly until she’s no longer seeing Joel… but they continue talking.
What also bothered me is that there is no warning about the cheating. So it almost seems as though the author didn’t want to admit to others that there was cheating, or she didn’t want to call it what it was. And with this being a Christian book… that’s not going to go over well once readers find out.
The bar hopping also… that’s not something more Christian’s are doing. Not Christians fully committed to Christ.
I also struggled with the Hillsong mentions. I get it, it’s a church, it’s where they went… but I’ve never read any other book touting a mega church in such a manner. Especially such a controversial church.
I hate leaving negative reviews but when there is cheating in a book, readers need an explicit warning. Not a note saying, “you’ll learn things about me that I’m not really proud of.” Readers need a specific warning.

💞 The vibes: • Faith-based themes ✨ • Friends-to-more with a hint of love triangle 💔 • Dual POV (yes please!) • Irish charm meets London city life 🇮🇪🇬🇧 • Sweet, closed-door romance • Heartfelt spiritual growth and self-discovery 🌿
⸻
💞 My thoughts: This one was such a warm hug in book form! I loved the mix of cozy London settings with a touch of Irish charm woven throughout. The FMC was lively and relatable — the kind of character you just want to grab coffee with. She’s bubbly and determined but also learning to surrender control and trust God’s timing, which really spoke to me personally. The way faith was naturally integrated into her journey was beautiful — not preachy, just heartfelt.
I adored how the story explored stepping out of your comfort zone and trusting God even when life doesn’t make sense. The writing made those little “aha” moments feel genuine and personal, like God’s whisper in the middle of chaos.
⸻
💞 The romance: There’s definitely a subtle love triangle element that tugged on my heartstrings more than once 😅 — but once things started to click, I was all in. The MMC (you’ll know which one!) completely stole my heart. His quiet strength, humor, and faith made him such a standout. I loved how he pursued with clarity, knew what he wanted, and respected her boundaries. The chemistry was sweet and tension-filled without ever crossing lines.
⸻
💞 Writing style: The writing felt casual and cozy, almost like a friend sitting across from you sharing her love story over tea. It has that inner monologue feel — lots of processing, reflection, and faith-filled musings. At first, I noticed a bit of telling rather than showing, but it flowed beautifully as the story went on. Once the pacing settled, I couldn’t stop reading.
⸻
💞 Final thoughts: A few moments felt repetitive or lingered longer than needed, but overall the story’s heart and message completely won me over. It’s a gentle, faith-filled romance that leaves you smiling and maybe reflecting a little too. 🥰
If you love closed-door stories with big-hearted characters, spiritual growth, and an MMC who makes your heart melt with his words and his actions — this one’s for you. 💕
This book was so sweet! And the fact that it is the authors real romance makes it so much sweeter! I was a little repetitive at times, but she did an amazing job on her debut novel. If you are looking for a swoony, short(ish) rom-com, you found the right book! Pick this up asap!

- ̗̀ general ̖́- - The way this book was written felt like I was on FaceTime with my bestie as she went through life. It was easy to read, understand, and just enough description to let my imagination picture every place. I truly enjoyed this book, and even teared up a few times. The amount of times I’ve been told to settle, to not expect any sort of happily ever after is wild, but this reignited my prayer to God about what kind of man of God I want. I know this book was sugary sweet and relationships aren’t perfect, but this showed me what happens when God is first in finding a spouse. Nataly and Nathan were equally yoked, which to me showed a perfect balance to each other. The fact this is based on the authors real life love story is so inspiring. It gives me hope that one day God will align and place me exactly where I need to be. I would have given it 5 stars, but due to my personal convictions on how much I want to have pda when I find my man, this made me a tad uncomfortable. Too much kissing or steam for my liking personally. It was definitely pretty innocent so I didn’t mind it too too much, but like I said; for ME it was a tad much.
- ̗̀ plot ̖́- - Truthfully the plot wasn’t exactly the most profound thing, but I just enjoyed the ride. It felt like the perfect romcom, a Jesus filled romcom is now my new favorite genre. The romance really felt both real and magical, a testament to Gods timing at work.
- ̗̀ characters ̖́- - Nataly was my girl, truly. If the author based this character on herself, I think I found a new friend lol. There’s a famous Andrew Garfield line where he describes Emma stone as “a shot of espresso in the morning,” and that’s exactly how I feel about this fmc. She was so trusting in God, so genuinely kind, and I felt like I was in my own head at times because of how heavily I related to her. - Nathan was an absolute darling and treasure. I pray God sends me my own Nathan, a man of God who is genuine. There’s a popular book that talks about being a help-meet, and that is exactly what these two characters are to each other.
Was a genuinely enjoyable little read, made even better by the fact that it was read straight through in a single day alongside my wife. While the dialogue can lean a bit cheesy at times (and this genre is not typically one that draws much interest for me) that difference is actually part of what made the experience so refreshing. Because it sits outside familiar reading habits, the story felt light, playful, and easy to sink into without expectation. Despite its simplicity, it succeeded in keeping the pages turning. Most of all, it served as a sweet reminder of the energy, humor, and tenderness of young love and love altogether.
a sweet based a a true story romance novel, sometimes we want something so badly that we are willing to overlook things we shouldn't. follow Nataly as she walks the road of self discovery, understanding that staying stuck just to save someone else's feelings (while ignoring your own) is not best practice and in fact will keep you lonely in both heart and soul.
This is the Christian romance I have been hunting for, and it delivered in every possible way. I devoured this book in one sitting and loved every second of it. An easy 10/10. 😍
Nataly Jennings delivers pure rom-com brilliance layered beautifully with faith. God is present, central, and never watered down, while the story remains heartfelt, funny, and completely swoon-worthy. The fact that this is inspired by the author’s real love story only makes it better. 🥹 The rom-com and romance girl in me was absolutely thriving! What I loved most is how the faith element feels real and relatable. It doesn’t shy away from real-life anxieties, struggles, or the messy in-between moments.
Nataly is incredibly relatable, and I saw so much of myself in her (especially her unapologetic love for everything pink and her clumsiness🤣). Her golden retriever personality is equal parts adorable and hilarious.
Nathan is exactly the kind of leading man rom-com girls adore. He knows what he wants, leads with intention, and makes his love interest feel truly seen and cherished. Together, their story is the kind that has you kicking your feet, smiling uncontrollably, and clutching the book to your chest.
London, Love and a Little Something Irish is a beautiful love story that will have you laughing out loud and grinning from ear to ear, while gently reminding you that the Creator of our lives really does write the best love stories, and delivers exactly what we need, often when we least expect it.
Absolutely adorable love story! I loved the dual POV and the beautiful descriptions of London. Such an incredible testimony that God's plans are better than our own and that chivalry still exists! Clean, fun and entertaining.
I was immediately intrigued by this story when I realized the author had based the book on her actual love story!
A love triangle, a taste of big city life in London, fun movie quotes, faith and depth, fantastic characters, and sweet and swoony romance made for such a fun read!
While at times I found the book repetitive, overall I found this to be a very enjoyable story!
*A big thank you to the author for an ARC copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own!
Nataly was a bubbly woman. The men she dated didn't appreciate her. Nataly wanted a true love match. Thank goodness when she met Nathan, sparks flew. The only thing stopping romance was that Nataly was dated someone else.
Nathan wanted to be with Nataly, but being a believer, he could not show his love until Nataly broke up with a boyfriend.
Nataly always dreamed of a true love match. She finally saw who was her true love.
Oh my goodness, this was such a cute and fun read! I absolutely loved reading about Nataly’s real life love story! All the pop culture references, from Gilmore girls, to Disney channel to Mary Kate and Ashley, this book had it all and I ate it all up!
The overall message of not being afraid and stepping out your comfort zone is one I really needed to hear! I also loved how she weaved nuggets of God’s love and grace throughout! The ultimate love story.
“Life will hand me hard moments. It’s inevitable. But God will always work it out for my good. Why not live life fearlessly?”
Thank you Nataly for sharing your story with us and for allowing God to speak through you on these pages ❤️
