EN What an incredible battle between Vegeta, Son Goku, Krillin, and Son Gohan! It took the combined strength of Earth’s mightiest heroes to finally bring the Saiyan prince to a halt.
I had completely forgotten how it ended, but what a phenomenal conclusion to such an intense fight.
Now, with their fallen comrades gone and the Dragon Balls on Earth no longer an option, our heroes must seek another way. And so begins the journey to Namek.
What an awesome series!

Ta walka nie ekscytuje już tak bardzo jak kiedyś, ale nadal dobrze się to czyta. Z jednej strony schemat goni schemat, ale z drugiej strony wiem, że wiele z tych schematów Dragon Ball sam stworzył, więc nie razi to aż tak mocno.

Crap. Why did I like this series😭 my brother made me read these. And yes I always said these were stupid and kiddish. I read this and yes it is stupid. It’s anime, of course it’s stupid. But it’s so interesting😂 I’ll have a review on my channel coming soon❤️

This was SO INTENSE! By far the best arc. I literally can’t stop reading this series and I am in love with the action and heart at the center of the whole story!

I've shit on the Saiyan Arc before for turning Dragon Ball into something completely different from how it first began. But god damn the fight against Vegeta is just pure fucking fun.
There are a lot of little things here that Toriyama either doesn't explain outright or gets overshadowed by later developments in the series without being touched back on. This things are still quite good, and show Toriyama actually gave a bigger shit than I thought, or otherwise subconsciously wrote something tighter than he should be able to. What I mean is I can use "headcanon" to explain Gohan's spontaneous tail regeneration as a zenkai boost even if it isn't explicitly treated as such. Likewise, Vegeta makes the claim that the strongest Saiyan warriors have the ability to create a false moon out of ki, but of course we learn later that the strongest Saiyans can just turn blond, negating the need to dick around with the Great Ape form, suggesting (again, headcanon) that Saiyans wasted so much time attempting to perfect the Great Ape transformation (including Vegeta's ability to retain his sanity despite apparently limited attempts at transforming) in defiance of the Super Saiyan "myth." Neat little bit of worldbuilding. We also get Vegeta supercharging his ki post-zenkai(?) to create an explosion from his aura, kinda foretelling his Majin form's self-destruct. The difference, I guess, is that his exploding aura does NOT kill him (or even damage him at all), pre-emptively justifying the similar case of Android 17 surviving his own "self-destruction" in Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power arc. It is kinda wack that Dragon Ball Super made it so Roshi's always been strong, yet pusses out of the fight against Nappa and Vegeta where Yajirobe managed to pull his weight (pun mildly intended, fat boy was the MVP here).
Actually, that's the funny thing. Not only is this the last time Yajirobe was worth something, he actually almost steals the show. It's weird to think there was a time when Yajirobe was actually stronger than Goku, way back when. It's a shame the set-up for the Planet Namek arc will eventually allow for Yamcha, Chaozu, and Tenshinhan to lose much of their own worth (aside from Ten's Kikoho spam on Cell, I guess).
Good shit. The King Piccolo Arc is still my favorite, but I'm a lot easier on the Saiyan Arc now. The introduction of Raditz and the alien shit that comes with him is still a tough pill to swallow, and there's thus a very clear line between "Dragon Ball" and "Dragon Ball Z," but whatever. I'm hyped for Freeza. I just hope VIZ will do the Full Color Cell Arc soon.

Volume conclusivo della saga dei Sayan, posso quindi parlarne in maniera più generale.
Questa saga è importante perché possiamo approfondire le origini di Goku e le caratteristiche genetiche e storiche dei Sayan.
Scopriamo che si tratta di un popolo che conquista pianeti per poi rivenderli a caro prezzo, e che sono fortissimi, aiutati da qualche tecnologia ma soprattutto da una forza ancestrale.
Goku scopre di essere un Sayan e gli viene Chiara la funzione della sua coda, capace di scatenare una forza mostruosa nelle notti di luna piena.
In questa saga riviviamo alcuni meccanismi di sempre, la crescita dei personaggi, il duro allenamento, la disciplina, l’astuzia.
Viviamo anche la figura di Piccolo, leggermente più orientata al buono rispetto al passato.
Scopriamo nuovi e interessanti personaggi come re Kaio, maestro del Kaioken.
Altra cosa importante è l’introduzione del pianeta Namecc come speranza per ricreare le sfere del drago (quelle terrestri sono state distrutte con la morte di Dio).
Per quanto riguarda le tavole qui Toriyama inizia a esprimere la sua estetica votata all'attenzione verso i corpi dei combattenti, muscoli sempre meglio rappresentate, corazze, divise sempre più belle.
I paesaggi naturali con i pianeti, il serpente di pietra su cui Goku corre per tantissimo tempo, l'aldilà, tutto è bellissimo.
E soprattutto abbiamo tante onde, esplosioni e tecniche di combattimento spettacolari.
Che dire, un capolavoro.

...and now the conclusion of the Saiyan Arc on Dragonball Z.
Like the other volumes of the series this book looks fantastic with full color pages and good paper stock for pages making a manga experience feel more like an American comic (but read like a manga.
The fight between Vegeta and Goku consume much of these pages with some help from what is left of earth's defenders. Many sacrifices have been made but there is a chance of saving everyone as Kuririn comes up with a crazy idea that could work so long as all the pieces of the plan fit together. If you have read the series before or if this is your first time reading Dragonball Z in manga form like me then I think you should check out the full color series for yourself. I don't think you will be disappointed (unless you don't like the series in general.) :)

Part of my fault with this is I shouldn't have read Vol.3 first (Although I know what happens already).
This was a great read actually - It was fantastic to see the effect that colour adds to the details and events that occur throughout the comic. As always, fight scenes are difficult to present accurately but Toriyama tried to make them look entertaining and realistically to the best of his ability.
I watched the anime of this when I was a child and it was great to find myself reading the series for fun. I definitely want to read these in order so it flows naturally.

I forgot I even had this volume (in Color) so I'm ending April with good o'l Dragonball. I've started (reading) super as well as watching it but as with DB tradition it's fillerama between the arcs so it's nice to get back to basics and re-read the sayian arc. Remember how much a dick Vegeta really was (compared to now) and know that the rematch between Goku and Vegeta (in the same compacity) is never going to happen.

An exciting conclusion to be sure, and I appreciate ultimate the resolution to the conflict. But it does get dragged by pacing issues. A few too many "Ah ha! I'm not actually dead!" moments, and there's a lot of 'wait, it isn't over?' stuff on the back half.
None of this is enough to severely detract from what makes this all fun, and reading this does make me understand this fandom a lot better.
Will I read more? We'll have to see.

Vegeta is so strong it takes 4 of Earth's best fighters, a sword, and a giant ape to beat him. After the battle with Vegeta, Krillen, Bulma, and Gohan set off to the planet Namek to look for the dragon balls to bring the god of earth Kami and Piccolo back to life so the Earth Dragon ball will be reactivated.
I really liked this book because I have always loved the Dragon ball series for the last eight years. This was an easy read because I seen the TV version of this a lot of times so it was rote memory.I am i big fan so I understand what they are talking about but a new reader may not understand.
I would recommend this book to fans of the Dragon Ball series. It has a great story which is why it has a lot fans. Although if you like a book that uses all its characters Dragon ball wastes a lot of characters.

Bottom Line Up Front: Akira Toriyama reinvents the Dragon Ball universe with the beginning of the Saiyan Saga. While some argue against the change, it's hard to deny the entertainment value of this fun filled drama. With fan favorite characters returning, and the stakes increased, this is a great choice for any manga lover.
The Good:
1) The tone is what makes Dragon Ball Z so popular. It's serious, but with a healthy dose of lightheaded fun.

1) If you don't care much for over the top characters...probably not for you.
