Sylvia never imagined a quiet afternoon at the beach would end with her being torn from Earth and sold to the highest bidder at an intergalactic auction. Fierce, furious, and absolutely unwilling to accept her fate, she finds herself trapped aboard a silent, deadly ship—claimed by a towering alien male cloaked in armor, shadow, and silence.
He doesn’t speak her language. He doesn’t explain why he bought her. But he radiates control, menace, and something else she can’t name—something that ignites every time he looks at her.
She’s defiant. He’s unrelenting. She wants freedom. He wants obedience. And in the tightening space between fury and fire, something dangerous begins to spark.
But her captor is being hunted, and their flight through deep space is anything but safe. As threats close in and choices narrow, Sylvia must face the the most perilous thing aboard this ship might not be her captor’s enemies…
So this one had the SAME issues I had in the last book, the language is very flowery, almost to excess and certain details are repeated incorrectly which makes it feel like the book was written by AI.
The book follows the same formula that the first book did, almost to a T so it wasn't super engaging to me (kidnapping, aliens, shock collar, bidding, purchase, cold room, guy with mask that covers his face, he thinks the heroine is defiant even though she's basically a bland wallflower, she gets restrained / strapped down, she cries a bunch, a lil smut etc.. )
There's also no connection between the leads and there's a language barrier for basically the whole book so we're supposed to know they're in love with basically no bonding or communication.... eh. It honestly rides this ridiculous line of the heroine "knowing" what he means with EVER having any hint since they don't speak the same language and there's no body cues to go on? (ex. he says a word and she takes that to mean she's his and he'll never let her go and also that it means come here.... like what? she has no reason to suspect any of that and since he doesn't show his face) and we get both of their POVs so it's basically watching 2 people barely understand each other and rely on assumptions.
I only gave this book one star because it felt like the author sat down in front of a computer and made a perfunctory effort to type whatever it was I just read out. This book was torture to get through.
I read this one first and initially I thought it was promising but I realized it's mostly likely written by AI. Strange way of writing, repeated words and mistakes.
There’s no way this series wasn't mostly AI-generated.
There were so many cliches, the tone changed drastically after the first chapter, and somehow the FMC knew his name through most of the book, even though she didn't actually learn it until around the 80% mark.
There were parts with well-structured paragraphs, and the flow was what you'd expect in a well-written story, but those were followed by endless dramatic, one-sentence lines, with lots of “It's not this, it's that” phrasing and excessive italicizing for emphasis.
I forced myself to finish the book so I could write a review. I have never given a one-star review on a book, even if I didn't like something about it. If the story didn't resonate but the writing was good, that deserves recognition. This was just terrible.
This is book two in this series called Stolen From Earth. The world building is really good considering the story is a quick read. In this second book, the human female Sylvia is stolen from a beach. She was trying to clear her head and was surprised by the evil alien kidnappers. Sylvia is readied for auction when this huge black armored alien enters the room. Kyhin is his name and he has wings, which I consider a plus. Kyhin had no interest in participating but was curious about a human being auctioned. Sylvia pulled him in and Kyhin decided to purchase her. That is where their adventure begins. Kyhin is a fierce assassin. There is a happy ending. Read On!
While short this book is more like sensual poetry rather than a complicated narrative. The sensual build up throughout the story was fluid and, frankly amazing. I wish there had been a bit more action but what was given was more than sufficient to let us know just how badass and dangerous Kyhin was as a character. The dynamic between Kyhin and Sylvia was a beautiful and sensual dance as they came to know each other without words. The lack of complicated dialogue between the two was an unusual and refreshing plot device used by the author. I shall look forward to more books by this author!
I am immediately swept away by Silver's visceral language and tantalizingly descriptive wordplay. This is a tale of empowering feminity through harsh comparative alien attitudes as dual-natured actions searching for personal and cultural understanding. Silver explores true intimacy, bred of trauma-bonding circumstances, by passionately re-imagining alienesque landscapes into an elevated definition of genuine introspective humanity. It was impossible to lay aside once I started reading.
The story was very one dimensional. The majority of the book is written in such a way that each word or a phrase gives out the impression of a full sentence. There is so much of it.... Don't believe me? Alien. Perfect. Spicy. Warm. Earthy... All of these in the same page...
Another example- She blinked. Stared.
There is more... Strength. Warmth. Hope.
And my review... one dimensional. Clueless. Hopeless. Hero fights or f***s. Heroine whimpers. Me don't care.
I should have been clued in by the AI artwork, but man, the story is rough. I dnf’d halfway through. The story could be half the length if you took out all of the repetitiveness. I strongly believe that this story was if not wholly, then at least in part “written” by AI. Not to mention how she’s become a glorified slave to the alien MMC. I really wanted to like this one, but damn. I’ll be avoiding this author completely going forward.
Liked the cover, but this was meh all around. Flat insta love boring characters with painfully predictable paint-by-numbers storyline.
Plus it could have used some editing- besides the one passage that was repeated twice in a row- there is one part where he says her name when he's thinking about her, but she doesn't give her name or introduce herself until the end of the book.
Only 200 pages but I really Just wanted to get to the end so it would be over at a certain point.
Well there was a lot wrong with this book, same issues from the first one but I liked that there was more fighting in this book. I do wish the book hadn’t followed the same plot points from the first. I also would have liked more dialogue, or any kind of communication outside of staring. The writing did seem slightly better in this book vs the first so that’s something.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved both characters and how they connected and complimented each other. Kyhin's power was his ease of control with the ability to remain calm and silent but commanding. Silvia's power was her ability to adapt and conquer the situations she was put in. I would definitely read this again and recommend.
It was fine, the writing is a bit different and not very well edited. The book takes place in a different part of the universe, but still connected. There’s not a whole hell of a lot of dialogue which kind makes me think this is overly forced but hey, it was a short read and entertaining enough.
There was a language barrier for almost the entire book. He bought her on a whim bachelor thought she was beautiful and she had golden hair. He wears black armor and weapons and a face mask for most of the book. He has wings.
This was an incredibly good lead the backstory was very interesting not only about Sylvia and how she came to be abducted but about the Hvrok. A warrior almost a mercenary the last of his kind he had craved solitude but she was his undoing
Sylvia was taken from earth and sold to the Hvrok. He was being pursued by disgruntled clients. He had to crash land on an inhospitable planet. Hostile natives, fighting, rescue. Enjoy
Very slow moving story line, I had to skip forward or not finish. I decided to skip forward enough to know i didn't miss anything and to still get the point of the story. If this is how the series goes I may not move forward in series.
I didn't care enough about either character to really enjoy this book. Language barrier exists until the very end of the book, there's nothing between them but curiosity and possession on his part and anger, fear, and body betrayal on her part.
Take a drink everytime you read the word "reverent"
That's all. Great book overall, interesting interactions and dynamic; but my GOD please please please hold back on the revering!! Lord they love each other.
Loved this book! Can't wait to read the next. Hope there will be many more. So many characters that I'd love to learn of their adventures, and to see get their own, precious human.
Wow! This second book is even better than the first one!!! Loved the concept & the story!!! Soooo romantic & so sweet!!! Very well written-! Hopefully there will be many more books on the way!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed this book for the most part. It was well written & had a great storyline. But it did repeat quite a bit in the beginning. Almost annoyingly so.
