A rebellious and provocative take on what it means to be different, offering a way forward for anyone who wants to blaze their own path, from psychologist Sergi Rufi.
Do you feel like an outsider? Like a weirdo who doesn’t fit in with what society considers “normal”? Have people ever told you you’re too sensitive or too clever? If so, this book is for you. Psychologist Sergi Rufi provides you with tools to start living your life authentically, without blaming or shaming.
Through a poetic and scientific reappraisal of society’s obsession with fitting in, Rufi presents a real reflection on what it means to be human, the root causes of suffering, and, above all, how to avoid the unhappiness of the mainstream. He invites us on a transformative journey that goes beyond good and evil, beyond blame and shame, where unabashed weirdness becomes a breeding ground for authenticity, justice, health, and beauty.

Very much convinced this is an AI-written book, because the title has zero to do with anything other than marketing to those who “feel different” just like the rest of us, thus, guaranteeing it’ll sell well. Not to mention that the actual content takes literally every vague and vapid mainstream metaphor an NPC would tell you, then throw in a few situational stories that are so wide-ranging in their commonality that very few people would not be able to relate, sprinkle in some definitions and generic “opinions,” and VOILÁ! 😑😑😑
Just finished audiobook. I found it a bit dry and academic with most of the examples coming from the psychologist author's experiences but ultimately somewhat enlightening. However, I also found the title a bit misleading considering the above sentence so a solid 3.
