The first story, the Romance of Crime, I would give 4 stars too, fun, fast and you could visualise it all. Second story, The English Way of Death, 2 stars, confusing, over populated, and just not for me.

I really enjoyed both stories. Tom Baker is great in these.

I found the second story to be a little more enjoyable than the first. Not bad, but these didn’t thrill me as much as other stories.

This was just the Romance of Crime story. It was a delight, as expected, to be in the company of Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor. More surprising was how pleasing it was to have Romana and K9 along for the ride. The telling effectively conveyed the oppressive atmosphere and in theory the plot was interesting. However, I was ultimately not engaged by it. Spigott the investigator with his repeated references to "Angie and the kids" was amusing in itself but somehow felt like a good idea shoehorned in where it didn't really fit.
