Zack doesn’t think ghosts exist—but a haunted Halloween might change his mind in the eleventh Galaxy Zack chapter book adventure.
Zack absolutely, one hundred percent does not believe in ghosts—even when his friend Drake tells him that they are real. But as Halloween nears, weird things start to happen, and Zack begins to think that he might be haunted. Can Drake help Zack solve what goes bump in the night?
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Galaxy Zack chapter books are perfect for beginning readers.
I did not like this book because I do not like haunted things. I enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Zack found out who was haunting him. Drake was haunting him.
Galaxy Zack Haunted Halloween was super spooky and fun! Let me tell you all about it. So, Zack, who lives in the 22nd century, starts thinking he's haunted because strange stuff keeps happening. He's not sure, but he saw his hyperphone float in the air! Isn't that crazy?
More weird things happen, and even his friend Drake thinks he's haunted. My favorite part is when Drake's backpack starts smelling super bad, like a rotten egg. Ew, it's so stinky! It's like if a goose laid eggs, and one didn't hatch, and it got all stinky. Yuck!
The best part is the book teaches us an awesome lesson. If you're scared or have a fear, you should ask a friend or someone to help you face it. You should be brave and try to conquer your fears. And you know what? Sometimes, things that seem scary might turn out to be not so bad after all. So, if you like spooky mysteries and cool adventures, "Galaxy Zack: Haunted Halloween" is the perfect book for you!
I read this out loud to my kids in one sitting. They thought it was just okay. I wasn't impressed with it. It was a very simple read. This would be better for a child to read on their own as a beginner chapter book.
I guess this one was alright. Zack is gonna be spending his first Halloween on planet Nebulon so he tells his alien/Nebulite friend Drake about the holiday on Earth. After he describes a ghost to his friend, strange things start happening to him. I'll give it 3 stars.
My six year old son continues to love these books and I continue to find them pretty boring. One thing I noticed about this book was that the illustrations seemed rougher than in previous books. There's one page where my son and I couldn't even figure out what part of the illustration was supposed to be: is it a table cloth? Is the dad's arm really giant and in the foreground? Is it a video screen? Also, I find the "space age" terminology grating. A video, for example, is called a "vivi-vid," and everybody uses "hyper phones." Also in this book, Zack's earth friend dresses up as a Nebulite for Halloween, which seems kind of racist? I don't know, man. The only thing I like about these books is my son's enthusiasm and seeing his reading ability progress as we read through the series.
Another cute story in the Galaxy Zack series. In this book, Zack's non-belief in ghosts is challenged and perhaps what is "scary" or "supernatural" is just unexplained or unfamiliar.
