Liulf by Victoria Danann - Liulf and his brothers are quite the trio. They band together in times of need and joke around with each other just like brothers should. When Liulf first meets Rain he's not so sure about what it is he's feeling until near fatal events bring the closer together. Their bond and love grows strong and quickly. Even the brief run in with Litha always makes me laugh.
As always Victoria Danann hits it out of the ball park again with another amazing story.

I'll tell you what I think of this book...AWESOME... Ms. Danann has done it again!
Liulf is one hot Highlander shifter. He believes in the romantic ways of the wolf's where you find one mate and that's it. The fates have given him his mate and he just has to find her and he will wait even though things don't look good in the Highlands. In fact things don't look good for the whole clan because of the humans moving closer to pack lands and the hunting going on.
He is given the chance to save his pack but he has to take them to a whole different world! Will they all want to go? Will him and his brothers be able to take the pack and everything they need to survive in the old ways? And what of his one true mate? All these questions are answered in such a great way that you will want to cry, cheer and shout for Liulf...the sexy strong Alpha of the New Scotia Pack!
Definitely recommend this book and any of the other books Victoria Danann has out there.
I would have liked to have given this 8 stars if I could!

Victoria Danann's book "Luilf, New Scotia Pack 1" is yet another facet into a dimension that oozes with adventure, love and manly men (werewolves) . Once again Ms. Danann's writing style pulls you into this dimension with the characters and you find yourself swept away in this adventure. Luilf, hunky alpha of his pack, is waiting for his true mate and will venture to a new world to find her and protect his pack. Luilf and his two brothers travel to another dimension with the help of the demon, Deliverance...You will recognize characters from Victoria's book "Moonlight" in "Luilf" too.
Does Luilf find his mate in this new world?
I really enjoyed this book and can not wait until the next one in this series.

Victoria does it again. She captures your interest & holds onto it till the very last word. I got so lost in Luilf's world I forgot mine for a bit. I lost some sleep reading this book. I could not put it down. Luilf becomes Alpha of his Highland Pack. He has some decisions to make. He does some inter-dimension exploring to find a new home for his pack. The love story between Luilf & Rain Falling really touched me. He knew instantly she was his mate. It took her a bit longer. If you like sexy shifters. If you are a fan of The Knights of Black Swan then You really need to get this book! As always a Forever Fan ... Pam James

What could possibly be more sexy than an Alpha Male looking to find a new safe home for his pack? I'll say a hot Alpha IN A KILT!!!!!!!! Liulf is smart sexy and all about business until he meets. His mate. The problem is convincing her. With the help of a very sexy Demon and some old wolf friends Liulf is able to move his pack to Lunark.A surpriseing twist with some minor wolves is great as well! This is a DEFINATE must read for all fans of VICTORIA DANANN, SHIFTERS AND ESPECIALLY FANS OF HOT SCOTTISH MEN!!

Another winner by Victoria Danann! Liulf is a novella that relates nicely to her incredible Knights of the Black Swan series. If you are a fan of the Knights of the Black Swan series or new to reading Victoria's work, you will not be disappointed! Originally released as part of the Highland Shifters collection, it was clearly a standout and my personal favorite.

Once again Victoria has written another masterpiece. As I read this story I once again felt like a part of the story and tried to read slowly so as not to finish it too quickly. She manages to write in a way the keeps the reader completely engrossed. No spoilers from me. You have to read this. I recommend this book 100%.

Another super story from the Queen!

Having already read this book as part of an anthology, I decided to re-read before doing this review. Boy am I glad I did. Victoria Danann writes the kind of intricate plot and character development that must either be read Very carefully or more than once. This is an offshoot of Danann's Awesome Black Swan Series, and takes place mostly in another dimension from earth as we know it. As an Alpha who is part of triplets Liulf finds himself in the position of new Alpha to his large pack. While he has always been an Alpha personality, he is thrust into leading his pack when his uncle is killed by an arrow shot by a human with a power bow. His pack can choose to stay and risk more deaths by human hands or they have a chance to start over in a beautiful spot much like their current location in Scotland with one exception. They will essentially be going back to another time without modern conveniences but also without humans. So, the pack chooses to relocate. Those few who stay will have Liulf's father as Alpha. Thrown into the move, starting over, and leading the pack, Liulf also longs to find his Truemate. He is nearly 400 years old and has held out to find her.
When they arrive in New Scotia (named by Liulf in memory of his beloved Scotland), he meets THE one. At least in his mind. The lady wants nothing to do with him and prefers Conn, one of Liulf's brother's. But fate steps in and creates a situation that will bring Liulf near death and his mate to make a decision. The how of what happens with the New Scotia pack makes for an exciting, thoroughly enjoyable story. Please give yourself the gift of Liulf by Victoria Danann. And while you are at it, start the Black Swan Series, My Familiar Stranger. It is free, always. This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

After voraciously devouring Victoria's Black Swan series, I was delighted to see she was writing another. Liulf does not disappoint. We recall in Moonlight, book 4 of the Black Swan series, Stalkson Grey takes his decimated pack to an interdimensional colony where his ancestors had settled thousands of years before. The pact between the fae and the Mahdrah Ahlee in Scotland has been uneasy for centuries, and they are attacked by humans yet again. The choice is clear: Move or die. With the help of Stalkson, Deliverance and friends, the New Scotia Pack is moved to the Lunark Dimension.
Beneath the unrest, Liulf has troubles of his own. Suddenly made Alpha of the Clan by untoward circumstances, he feels he should be finding a mate. He has been pursued for centuries by a bitch who feels she should be his, yet Liulf believes in the “true mate”. Will he find his in the New Scotia?
Victoria writes a fast paced, emotional story that has you RIGHT THERE, in the melee, feeling the pain, sorrow, joy and even the throes of passion. This is an I-could-not-put-it-down book. I am waiting impatiently for the next one!

I have never read Victoria Danann's work. I was so privileged to get to read this book. I was excited by the synopsis of this book. I also love short stories and novellas. This was the perfect shifter romance. I love the ideas in this plot and I am excited that there will be more books. I am so in love with Liulf! What a man and Rain is one lucky lady. She was a fool not giving him a chance. I love the chance of heart she has and how she shows it. I just wish Liulf could have seen it happen. This was over so soon and ended so abruptly. I was sad to see it end. I was hoping to see more of their time together. I hope to see some in the next story. I love the 3 brothers and I look forward to seeing the other 2 fall in love. Both will be interesting reads and I can't wait to read more of this new world.

New world New Love
It’s always amazing to me how an author can come up with an original new story about wolf shifters. This is once again a very original concept of a story. As humans encroach ever so closely and start to hurt or hunt wolves, the pack takes on a new adventure. Leaving all the world conveniences behind and going to a whole new world/dimension. A place with no running water or electricity, but also with no humans to hunt them. Some did stayed behind, but for those that moved are in for adventure, along with new prospects for love and mating with the other packs in the new place. Well written and very enjoyable to read. Great start to a new world of possibilities and new series.

"Liulf" is a novella by Victoria Dannan. It takes place after Book 4, "Moonlight: The Knights of the Black Swan" series. It tells the story of Liulf, the pack of Mahdrah Ahlee and the decision to move the pack to another dimension.

The story opens with the death of Liulf's uncle, the current alpha of the pack. He passes the mantle to Liulf, the oldest of his three nephews. He requests that Liulf now move the pack, because of the encroachment of man into their territory. From there their new alpha takes charge of finding the means to relocate his pack. He will be tested by those he loves, those who are selfish and by the possibility of finding his true mate.

As usual, Victoria has built a world that draws you in and makes you want to run with the pack. I highly recommend this book.

When I say Victoria Danann has done it again, I mean she has done it again.

Liulf: Alpha of the Mahdran Ahlee: A Highlander Romance follows Victoria Danann's book Moonlight. We meet new characters that I found very interesting, however, there are a few of the beloved characters from the Knight's of the Black Swan series that cross over into this new storyline.

The store starts with Liulf becoming the Alpha of his pack due to the murder of his Uncle. Before he passes away he tell Liulf a secret and aks that he call his cousin in the U.S. because he know everything.

As Liulf mulls this over he does not know that his life and the lives of his pack are about to change.

I can't wait to find out where Victoria Danann will take us on this new and exciting new journey.

As a fan of The Black Swan series, I was excited to see a cross over into this book!
I love weres, and I have developed a love for weres in kilts now!
Liulf is looking to help his pack relocate so that they feel safer and have a possibility to be more free than they are.
Once the clan has relocated, he meets Rain and doesn't understand the feelings he feels for her.
Rain doesn't understand why the newcomer just stares and doesn't seem very friendly. She goes out of her way to avoid him at all costs.
An accident forces them together but what will happen once the dust settles?
Can they make their new lives work?
You have to read Liulf to find that out!

Loved this book! I've found another series I'm going to be obsessed with. You can't go wrong reading about werewolves, highlanders, and romance. This book had me smiling quite a few times. these brothers are going to be a treat to read about. There were some emotional moments for me in this book, when Liuff is injured was one example. I enjoyed the fight Rain Falling had I was like "YES" but won't go into detail so as not to give anything away. I can't wait to read Conn and Ken's stories. All 3 have just so different personalities, It's going to be fun reading what the author comes up with for them.

I originally read this book as part of the Highland Shifters set...this was one of my favorite 2 stories in the 12 story bundle. I really enjoy Victoria Danann's writing style and will pick up most any shifter type book that she writes. I have previously read The Black Swan series by this author and enjoyed each and every book in the series. This is defiantly one of my favorite authors, and I am always on the lookout for any new releases she has.

This is an excellent paranormal read one of multiple stories in the Highland Shifter volume. It was very interesting about a wolf pack that lived in old Scotland and left to move to a new world thru a vortex or worm hole to New Scotia and how the Alpha Liulf came to find his fated mate and make sure his pack had a save life as well as his brothers. Some adventure, fun and romance.

Lisa Lopez I have a new book boy friend!! Liulf is wonderful and such a change from the usual shifter genre!! Victoria Danann has done it again! Wonderful to have an author who never disappoints.

Liulf is a spin off of the Black Swan series Mrs. Danann writes and though it is from that universe it does not stay there and has a different feel to it. The book starts off with Liulf, hearing that his Uncle the alpha of the Highlands pack has been killed by a hunter. It is this that prompts him to contact his cousin Stalkson Gray. The pack "moves" to the new area Stalkson and many of his wolves have moved to and in doing so he finds a new shifter friendly world where he names his area New Scotia. He also meets a lovely shifter named Rain who is not so interested in the sexy wolf shifter in a kilt. All I can say without spoiling is that Liulf's character behaves as a real man which was refreshing when so many times in this genre they are all manwhores and reform after finding their mate. He is a true alpha and OH SO HOT!

This was a wonderful read. It is not what I expected and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Sexy shifters OH MY!!! If you like shifters or highlanders you will love this book. If you read Moonlight and wondered what happened to Stalkson Grey and his pack this book will help explain it to you. For hundreds of years the Scotia werewolves have lived in the highlands and enjoyed the protection of the Fae Monarchy, but the world is changing and the straining population compels the highlander werewolves to adapt. Or die. Or MOVE. When Liulf unexpectedly becomes a reluctant pack alpha, he begins an epic exodus. The world of the Mahdrah Ahlee Highlander Pack comes to life in vivid detail you will feel like you are there watching it. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next.

Ms. Danann has done it again! Created characters that you'll fall in love with. We get an update on Stalkson Grey and Luna as Liulf travels to the Lunark Dimension to move his Highland Wolf Pack. He's been patiently waiting, looking for his true mate and he finds her at last once they settle into their new home. Does she realize who he is? Will he win her? Or will fate throw a curve into the plan. Pick up this great read today and be lost in the magic and adventure that Ms. Danann has created.

I was not disappointed. Adventure with romance made for a fun read. Our alpha finds his mate in another world and doesn't know how to get the conversation started when she always disappears. All this princess knows is he looks and talks different than what she is used to. He never smiles and is always staring at her. Can our alpha convince his people to move on to better things while trying to win the heart of a princess?

When fate hands Liulf the chance to make his pact a better life, he takes it to another level entirely. And there he finds his mate. But she is unable to find in him what she thinks she needs. Until he almost dies saving her. Will she lose him before it is too late? Wonderfully written and so amazing.

What a great spin off of The Knights of the Black Swan series. I think it’s a great way to move and answered some question that I had from book Moonlight. Liulf is faced with making some really hard decisions when he takes over a pack.. Can’t wait to read the next book!!

Already, I love that both Stalkson and Litha have been mentioned in this book. Deliverance is even mentioned later. It makes me feel at home and comfortable while reading in their world, like I'm still in the same world as the Black Swan characters. I found the migration of hundreds of werewolves from a modern world to a pre-industrial virgin wilderness on a different dimension fascinating. All the working parts and things needed to make a move like that, the details, and the planning were interesting to read and contemplate. That was a conflict in and of itself but then the conflict with who Liulf thought was his true mate who had no interest in him but instead fantasized about his brother. I didn’t like that. I don’t like unrequited love between true mates, and not just unrequited but she was pining after someone else, his own brother! Plus, Liulf had a she-wolf pining after him, almost stalking him: “Mave watched Liulf the way that Liulf watched Rain…” It was uncomfortable, frustrating, and sad. In elves, it seems, both mates know the minute they see each other, whether or not they want it or not. But with wolves when Rain rejected Liulf’s advances, “It didn’t escape his attention that he’d said similar things to Mave over the past three hundred plus years. He thought he might have to rethink his certainty that true matings couldn’t be one-sided.” Me too. I am interested in seeing where Danaan takes this but I’m not having fun while reading it. While I contemplated this about wolves, I remembered how Stalkson stalked Luna on her dimension and then literally kidnapped her. LOL. But she was a human and humans don’t have fated mates. Ironically, Liulf got drunk with his brother after the rejection and once he woke with a searing hangover, he sought out Luna for healing and ended up confiding in her about Rain’s rejection. She told him her own love story. I had to laugh to myself while folding laundry, sipping early grey tea, and pondering this book because nearly 80% of the clothes I’d recently worn were RED. Its a Danaan thing, red clothing. And earl grey tea. And either red hair or black hair with red lips. LOL. Even though Rain had rejected Liulf he was still drawn to her like a magnet. In any case, I got the happy ending that I wanted. Now on to the next book of the series.

MINOR SPOILERS

This is my first read from author Victoria Danann. My first impression is that she writes an awesome accent. I loved it but I did have minor trouble understanding some of their word meanings at first but I was able to get the gist of the meanings through context. Once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. I had no trouble imagining their voices since they flowed pretty well in my head.

This is a pretty quick read for me. I liked this novella because it was written in a decent manner and I did not tired of reading so it kept up at a good pace. The plot was pretty straight forward and took place in the lovely place of Scotia. I enjoyed the little magical twists Danann threw into the story. I always enjoy seeing how other people view magic or other paranormals.

The reader is reading from an omniscient point of view which throws a lot at the reader who hasn't known these characters for very long. It's not overwhelming but I felt like there was a lack of mystery or something for the reader to figure out for themselves. We were in several heads but I felt as if I were told more than shown in some aspects which I suppose is ok considering this is a novella. Still I think it could have been better executed and some of it was unnecessary.

I liked Liulf well enough but I couldn't find myself liking Rain Falling too much. I wasn't pleased with her easy change of heart as much even if it sort of made sense to me. I felt like it was too easy and too soon. I wasn't sure what the purpose of the third brother in this story but I assume he's more involved in a larger part of a story that I haven't read yet.

There is a love scene near the end but I wouldn't call it too erotic. I had thought there would be more explicit material but it was more tame than I thought. Perhaps, I had higher hopes because of the cover. lol

Overall, this is a nice fast read which I recommend if you like werewolves, traveling, and people with awesome accents.

3.2 out of 5 rating for me!
