I would like to be honest that when I first looked at the cover photo and the title of the book I thought that it must be some kind of a story but I was so wrong. It is so much more than that. The cover photo of the book is absolutely gorgeous.
'The YOU in ME, Forever.' by Prabha Karan is a persuasive journey into the very nature of human life, suggesting that it is happiness that comes from an awareness of one's inner Self and not from otherworldly changes. The author explores the usually neglected non-anatomical aspects of our existence; the Mind, Intellect, Memory, and Ego also pointing out their responsibility in creating substance-filled human relationships.
Based on deep research into Causality, Creation, Infinity, and Consciousness, the author carefully analyzes how these interior components intermesh with the Infinite Consciousness. The book is not a theory; the author has actionable methods, such as different Yoga and Meditations, to enable readers to move beyond mundane limits and bridge ancient knowledge with modern understanding. 'The YOU in ME, Forever.' is a helpful manual for anyone looking for personal discovery and a life-changing change of perspective, offering a journey toward deep fulfillment.
I will highly recommend this book to everyone. The writing skills of the author are flawless and I was engaged throughout the book without getting bored. It is a short but worthwhile read so grab your copy today and you will definitely enjoy reading it as much as I did.
The YOU in ME, Forever... by Prabha Karan is a book focused on personal health, inspiration, and personal growth in regard to one’s self and one’s relationships. People have many different relationships over the course of their lives including with family, friends, partners, and more. However, these relationships can prove capricious with how they can be deeply connected or magical only to turn bad later leading to painful struggles. Prabha Karan teaches a deeper understanding of these relationship in order to help one improve these bonds with the intent of increasing one’s own happiness and sense of fulfillment in one’s own life. Have you ever pondered if your sense of fulfillment comes from internal or external sources? Are you ready to look inward to understand yourself?
Opinion: The YOU in ME, Forever... by Prabha Karan is a mixing pot of spiritual, psychological, and philosophical aspects which are blended together to offer a unique insight into the connections that makes us who we are. I found this blend to be quite interesting as it is rare to have an author blend such aspects together instead of arguing for one being more important or better than the other. I particularly liked the way the author would define concepts before exploring them fully. For example, when describing the Intellect, the author first defined it and then went on to define similar yet different concepts like the mind and intelligence to offer an understanding of how they differ from each other. I found this matter-of-fact style to be beneficial to my ability to understand the concepts without feeling overwhelmed. The way the author’s writing style kept a balance between different aspects while offering a logical view of the topic helped me to gain a new understanding of what self-discovery truly is, even though I do not have a background in psychology or philosophy.
Second review: The YOU in ME, Forever by Prabha Karan discusses human connection, self-awareness, and the power of intellect. This book encourages one to rethink the way we view relationships, not just romantic ones, but also friendships, family bonds, and even the connection with oneself. This book also focuses on the intellect, how it works, and how it can lead to deeper relationships and personal fulfillment. The author breaks down complex ideas, explaining the mind (which reacts emotionally) and the intellect (which reasons and decides logically). Through this, the book teaches readers how to gain control over their thoughts, emotions, and desires.
Opinion: One of the strongest aspects of The YOU in ME, Forever is how it blends philosophy, psychology, and spirituality while staying practical. The book explores why we set goals, how desires shape our happiness, and how consciousness connects all human beings. What I loved was that deep and meaningful concepts are presented in a clear, engaging way. A unique mix of science, philosophy, and self-help, it’s a guide to self-discovery. What could be better? Some sections are heavy with theory and may require rereading, especially the Buddhist words and their meaning, which although were explained in the book, required rereading for someone like me who's unfamiliar with these words. The discussion on Karma, past and future lives, may not appeal to everyone, especially people of a different faith.
The title and cover might suggest a romance novel, but The YOU in ME, Forever is far more than that. It is a profound and introspective journey into human existence, self-awareness, and the nature of true connection. Blending timeless wisdom with contemporary understanding, the book offers readers a thoughtful path toward deeper fulfillment and conscious living. The book starts by examining the lesser-explored, non-physical dimensions of our being—mind, memory, intellect, and ego—and how they shape our relationships and perception of self. Through this, the author suggests that true happiness lies not in external circumstances but in discovering and understanding one’s inner Self. What sets this book apart is its clarity. The writing is clear, and accessible, never veering into heavy philosophy or jargon. Each chapter is short and to the point, with well-organized subheadings, helpful illustrations, and even tables to make complex ideas easier to grasp. Thoughtful quotes and visual aids bring abstract concepts to life, making it easier for readers to reflect and absorb the content at their own pace. The second half offers practical tools—various forms of yoga, meditation techniques, and introspective practices—designed to help readers move from theory to experience. These are not just spiritual add-ons but are presented as essential methods for personal transformation and inner harmony. The author gently nudges the reader to explore the richness of their inner world. The book doesn’t try to impress with lofty language but instead invites quiet contemplation. It encourages you to build a more honest and loving relationship with your mind—your doubts, insights, and growth. Whether you’re already on a path of spiritual exploration or just beginning to question what lies beyond the surface of daily life, this book offers a holistic, empowering approach. It’s not about becoming someone else—it’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been. This is a good guide for those seeking purpose, perspective, and peace.
The Mind and the Intellect: an eloquent journey of discovery and understanding
This extraordinary book invites an exploration of self and offers an eloquent discovery of our place in Infinity and in the Universe. Author Prabha Karan offers an understanding of the concepts of Vedanta philosophy in a manner that opens windows of enlightenment that provide an enriching reading – and living! – experience. While the philosophic aspects of the book are excellent, the aspects of exploring the Mind and the Intellect invites insight into ourselves and our relationships to others. ‘Gaining knowledge dispels ignorance…understanding the Infinite Consciousness eliminates ignorance of it’
‘Your Intellect is the power within you that allows you to think, reason, and make decisions. Your Mind is a collection of unfulfilled desires, emotions. New desires constantly appear here, and it is up to the Intellect to fulfill them. The inner personality is the essence within us that uses thoughts to guide our lives. Each part of the inner personality has a different role, and interacts with thoughts in specific ways. Together, they form an intricate symphony that makes each of us who we are.’ He discusses how memory + ego + Mind + Intellect = inner personality and in doing so how to recognize the role of the Intellect and understand how to use it.
For understanding our place in Infinity and the treasured Vedanta philosophy this book explores and explains, and is rich in thoughts such as ‘by committing good deeds in one life, you can accumulate wealth for future lives,’ and ‘Gaining knowledge dispels ignorance…understanding the Infinite Consciousness eliminates ignorance of it.’ Very highly recommended!
𝐐𝐮𝐨𝐭𝐞: "The Mind's function is to serve as a bridge between the fifteen power centres and the decisive action of the Intellect, creating a harmonious partnership that allows us to grow and thrive."
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬? At first glance, the title and cover made me think this was a romance novel—but once I read the blurb, I realised it had a deeply spiritual and transformative core, which instantly piqued my curiosity.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The cover is eye-catching and the title is fitting. However, considering the book’s depth and philosophical angle, the visual could have been more symbolic and reflective of the content’s tone.
𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The narration is crisp, direct, and fairly lucid. It maintains a structured flow, but certain concepts do feel dense and could have been simplified further for smoother understanding.
𝐎𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧: ✓ This book explores self-discovery by delving into the layers of human consciousness, ego, and thought, emphasising holistic growth. ✓ It highlights the idea that thoughts are made of matter and that the intellect and mind must align for true transformation. ✓ Yoga and meditation are introduced meaningfully, with different forms of yoga briefly outlined. ✓ My favourite chapter was “What’s Next?”—a guiding conclusion that beautifully distilled the book’s key insights. ✓ The use of diagrams, bold subheadings, bullet points, and visuals makes the reading experience more engaging. ✓ I wouldn’t recommend it for absolute beginners, but it’s a rewarding pick for those already inclined toward spirituality and self-help.
"The YOU in ME, Forever..." by Prabhakaran is a thought-provoking guide to understand the depth of one's true Self. The first half of the book focusses on the non-anatomical composition of a human, mostly dealing with intellect, self-consciousness, personality and also the layers of matter. The author connects these components with spirituality explaining us its importance along with suitable images, to help in better understanding. The second half focuses on the details of various methods of yoga and meditation that will help us understand ourself better. The book's theme - that real happiness comes when one understands their true Self is written in a simple and profound manner. The holistic approach of personal development is explained in this book. Although it is a small book with simple explanations, I personally, somehow felt it hard to relate with. Rather than feeling like reading a guide, I had the feel of reading an essay. The concepts are simple and easy to understand but it could have been much more practical. It felt like the author had compiled facts from various books and narrated in his style. It takes sometime to read and take-in the facts for a commoner. But readers who are into this holistic healing, spiritual healing and yoga practices might find this helpful. The cover of the book too kind of felt misleading. Some other better image that would suit the central theme of the book could have been used.
This is a thoughtful and quietly powerful book that gently encourages us to turn inward. It doesn't ask for dramatic life changes or offer quick-fix solutions. Instead, it invites a deeper awareness of what already exists within us. Through discussions on Consciousness, Intellect, Mind, Memory, and Ego, Prabha guides us to recognize parts of ourselves that often go unnoticed, yet shape how we live, think, and connect.
The book took me by surprise when I turned the first page because I was expecting a romance novel. I appreciate how the author bridges ancient philosophy with a present-day sensibility. There is no heaviness in his tone, even though the subjects he covers are profound. The writing felt personal, as if he had spent years carefully understanding these ideas before sharing them.
At times, I found myself pausing, not out of confusion, but because certain lines asked to be reflected on. The techniques offered for meditation and yoga aren’t presented as obligations but as tools waiting to be tried. The book doesn’t claim to have all the answers. Instead, it opens up space for quiet searching. There is a sincere warmth in the author’s voice, and it made me trust the journey he was offering. It's worth a try in my opinion!
The You in Me, Forever… offers a refreshing perspective on self-awareness and inner growth. Rather than following the usual self-help approach, the book feels like a heartfelt conversation that invites readers to slow down and reflect on their inner world.
Prabha Karan introduces four key elements of the self—Mind, Intellect, Memory, and Ego—and explores how they influence our thoughts, choices, and experiences. Drawing from ancient Indian philosophy, he presents these ideas in a way that’s clear, accessible, and relevant to modern life.
What sets this book apart is its simplicity. The author avoids complex language, instead using relatable examples and gentle guidance. Exercises such as mindful breathing and introspection are woven into the text, encouraging readers to engage at their own pace.
Karan’s insights are subtle yet powerful. The book encourages quiet reflection rather than quick fixes, and its messages stay with you. A thoughtful and sincere read for anyone seeking clarity, balance, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
What a wonderful book! It is also very descriptive, and it made me think a lot. I completely agree with the author that true fulfillment and happiness come from within. Before seeking happiness in external factors like achievements or possessions, we must first look inward. Doing some self-reflection and understanding our true essence is key to living a fulfilled life.
This book is deeply reflective and philosophical, with a strong focus on spirituality and consciousness. What I liked most is how the author encourages readers to constantly question themselves and their perception of reality. This practice of introspection leads to a powerful journey of self-exploration. It helps us reflect on our relationship with the world and highlights the importance of self-love and acceptance. The book ultimately reminds us that the answers we seek are already within us, waiting to be discovered.
This was a surprisingly good read for me. The book is really unique in its concept of a romantic approach to one's intellect. How many times in our day to day hustle do we wish to hit the pause button? This book felt like that pause button. In chasing our dreams we mostly focus on outward changes but this book invites you inward.
The book focuses on Mind, Intellect, Memory and Ego and how they connect us with infinite consciousness. This being an entirely new topic, I found myself totally hooked to the book. Although the book talks about such topics in depth, the language is fluid and easy to understand. I loved the structured presentation of the book and the book cover and title are totally on point. Perfect for such a book.
It's the perfect blend of ancient wisdom with modern insights which makes it feel timeless yet relevant. In a calm, thoughtful voice, this book made me realize that the sense of fulfillment isn't somewhere out there, rather, it is within.
This book is totally amazing for two main reasons: its priceless content and the way in which it was written. It invites people to reflect on their own lives, guides them to find happiness and exposes philosophical truths that will make the reader think from the first page. When we hear about consciousness, about connecting with our infinite potential, we tend to feel overwhelmed. I have to confess that when I saw what the book was about I thought I was not going to be able to connect totally with the ideas but it still made me curious and I got into reading it. I do not regret having done so as this book is a treasure. One of the strengths of this title is its clear and concise writing. Prabha Karan presents complex concepts in an easily understandable manner; so everyone can follow it and start building an invincible mind.
This book surprised me. I picked it up expecting a romantic story, but it turned out to be a thoughtful and introspective look at the self — the mind, intellect, memory, ego and how they are connected to a deeper consciousness.
Prabha Karan presents complex ideas in a clear and accessible way. His writing feels calm and intentional, not rushed or preachy. The book encourages reflection rather than offering quick answers.
What I liked most is that it does not try to impress with difficult language or heavy philosophy. Instead, it quietly challenges you to pay attention to your inner world and the way you live each day.
If you are someone who often feels there is more to life than what meets the eye, this book is perfect for you. It gives you the space and language to explore that feeling. It is not about changing who you are, but about understanding who you have always been.
Many people are unhappy or dissatisfied in life. They tend to look for outward solutions rather than inner ones. However, this book posits that many of the answers to becoming more content in life can be found not from without, but from within.
In these pages, you will learn how the infinite consciousness to which we are all connected can be tapped into and harnessed. Thie isn’t a trite self-help book, though. Rather, it is a guide to understanding how you can look past the boundaries of what is visible and immediately tangible through Yogic practices and beliefs. If you are seeking a way to not only center yourself but to unlock a vast and cosmic understanding, then reading this book can set you on that path.
From the first pages of The YOU in ME, Forever, by Prabha Karan, I was able to connect with the information, and the best thing is that it did not seem like a common personal development book, but rather a profound discovery with my true being. The book reminded me of the Vedic wisdom that I studied a few years ago in a course, but that until now I had not managed to fully internalize. However, with this read, I finally made the click I needed to understand on a deeper level. Definitely, the most interesting things about the book are the tools that Karan teaches us based on Yoga and other ancient disciplines to transcend the limitations of the mind. I definitely recommend this reading to achieve a deeper connection with the Divine.
The YOU in ME, Forever...: A Romantic Approach to Your INTELLECT by Prabha Karan What I like about this read is that the author describes things in easy terms but at times uses words I've not heard of. They are kind of like Latin words that really mean something in our everyday lives. I like the parts that are broken up into smaller ones so you can take your time to digest it before it's brought back to the big picture. I am familiar with a few of the yoga's and appreciated learning what it all means. The phrases used in this book I am not familiar with. Was hoping they exploit more of the movements in the various yoga sections. It's really, to me, a state of mind. Think this book was a bit over my head.
I just finished reading "The YOU in ME, Forever... A Romantic Approach to your Intellect" by Prabha Karan. And honestly, it's a really interesting idea! What I loved most about it is how it takes something usually thought of as very serious and academic – our intellect, our witts , our thoughts – and wraps it up in this poetic way. When the author talks about "The YOU in ME, Forever," it makes you think about how deeply connected two people can be, not just emotionally, but also on a mental level. It's romantic approach really hit home. It's not about facts . Instead, it talks about intellectual connection as something beautiful, intimate, and loving. It's about how truly knowing someone's mind is actually in real sense of knowing them . It makes you realize that understanding and celebrating someone's inner world is a deep form of love. Well, i would say that it's a concept that stays with you!
This book is simply sensational, I find the way in which the author develops the concept of the “inner self” incredible. I love how he turns a topic that at first glance can be transcendental and perhaps difficult to understand into something so familiar and close. The author invites the reader to have conversations with himself, although difficult, all too important and healing. This book is the kind of book that every human being should read. For, as we become more aware of the inner self we can experience greater freedom and a greater awareness of our actions and therefore our future and our live. Highly recommended, great book!
I went into this book with a mix of curiosity and skepticism, but what I found was a deep and life-changing exploration of the human condition. What I loved most was how Karan shows us that true fulfillment is not found on the outside, but in the deep understanding of our own being. This made me realize that I need to focus more on my own personal growth and finding my purpose.
Overall, I think this book is an excellent guide for anyone looking to find more purpose and meaning in their life. I'm happy to have found such valuable material. I recommend that you give it a chance; you won't regret it!
Connecting with yourself and with other people is not always easy, but it doesn't be complicated. For that reason, author Prabha Karan wrote this compelling guide with information and practical methods for understanding how to connect intellect, mind, memory, and ego to create our reality and in that way create real connections with others. Reading ''The YOU in ME, Forever'' will take you on a personal journey of self-consciousness, where you can discover the power of the energies, your body, and mind. This is a great book to have a better understanding of you. It also can help you to find the happiness that you are looking for. I highly recommend it.
This is an educational book with references from Hinduism that helps individuals to achieve immaterial wealth and fulfilment to add more meaning to our existence in today's societal caste system. It shows how one's human nature can commune with the infinite, blissful consciousness through love, righteous deeds, meditation, self-control, self-awareness, setting unselfish goals, and knowledge. I recommend this book to all who desire enlightenment and transformation.
Prabha Karan's "The YOU in ME, Forever” isn't your typical love story, instead, it invites you on a profound and refreshing journey, daring you to fall in love with something far more essential: your intellect. It emphasizes that a clear understanding of inner components like Mind, Intellect, Memory, and Ego, and how they interact is important not just for others but also for ourselves.
This book provides practical tips and techniques including various types of yoga and meditations. I love how the author blends spiritual, psychological, and philosophical concepts and brings together a better understanding of what makes us who we are. He made all the complex concepts clear and concise.

This is a book that I won in the Goodbooks giveaways and honestly thought this book would be different than it was. It would have been a DNF for me if I had not won it. This book just wasn’t for me. This author is intelligent and has researched and passionate in what he believes but for me it’s was just to scientific and complicated in ways it didn’t need to be. From a spiritual perspective it is so far my beliefs that I was not able to be open to some of his thoughts and beliefs.
Great book for learning to navigate your life with a romantic approach. This book is a great eye opener on life its builds awareness making life clear and accessible.
I won a copy in a Goodreads giveaway. This is my honest review. Thank you to the author and Goodreads for a free copy. May contain minor spoilers.
Based on the cover, when I first won this book, I thought it would be a fictional love story based some how related to the connection of the universe or Cosmos. The smaller print about a romantic approach to your intellect was small and was hard to see on a small kindle. I was wrong but sorta correct. It's a love story in that we are all one. The book describes the different yogic paths but it feels like a focus on Bhakti Yoga.
The book is a thought-provoking journey that blends secular and spiritual into the exploration of the intellect. The author does have beautiful ways of weaving personal anecdotes with philosophical introspection, which makes the reading experience both engaging and reflective.
Karan's writing does capture the essence of love as not just an emotional bond but as a meeting of the Truest form of self with our minds and with others. It was particularly wonderful to see who the author intertwines the human connection with intellectual growth, prompting the reader to shape and elevate our understanding of ourselves and the world around us. That our outside world and inside world are a reflection of each other.
Overall, I loved the idea of this book, especially for secular readers who are new to the yogic paths. For those already studying, some of the terms used or how ideas were explained were a little confusing, but only because of whatever lineage of yoga you may have learned under. Also, because it was written in a more secular way, the jump to God near the end was a bit large. As someone who has become spiritual more recently, I feel God should be eased in earlier with more exploration of what God is.
Again over it was a good read and I recommend to those interested in this path, especially bhakti yoga. I do have some minor notes for the kindle version I read.
-On Pg 9 on kindle: I understand that animals and plants are not the same as humans, I disagree with that "There is nothing inside them that directs them to act. They grow, reproduce, and die-that is all." There is new science discussing how plants are interconnected, showing a hidden lives of plants and living in symbiotic flow. This is more a perspective difference for me. -Pg 10 kindle: Apes have recently shown the ability to create tools, showing reasoning skills. We assume we are the only species to reason, but we are starting to learn and see our world as so much more, especially with spirituality. -various pages on kindle have some formatting issues where sentences are not fully connected. -Pg 23 kindle: For statements like "The 'Space', the fifth fundamental state of matter, proven by science." it would be useful to add an example of research to look up instead of a generalized statement. Right off the bat, I could tell this book was based of the Vedic teachings like the Gita, but the book was presented in a nonspiritual way and more scientific at the beginning. It would be helpful to add examples instead of general statements. Otherwise, I gave it 4 stars.
In absolutely no way does this book need to be listed as parenting advice. I only wish I would have read the description better than the subject material listed as parenting.
