Billionaire Trent Sherbrooke works hard and plays harder. He’s never once cared what the media or society says about him, until now. Intent on making his way into the United States Senate, Trent hires campaign advisor Marty Phillips, a ruthless force in politics who will stop at nothing to get his candidate elected.
After a chance encounter throws local small business owner Addison Raimono in Trent’s path, Marty believes he’s found Trent’s ticket into Washington.
Ignoring his conscience that insists he leave Addison alone, Trent sets out to win her over. Soon what he assumed would be a relationship to salvage his reputation turns into so much more. But can a relationship that began as a lie ever survive?
I adored Addison from the beginning of the story. She was a woman following her own ambition. Starting a business that put her in control and not corporate America. One stumble, one spilled coffee, and one time to make amends. That is all in took to send her world into the spotlight and her heart into the hands of a man who was a puppet.
Trent only had to listen to his cousin or follow is gut and things would have been smooth sailing. He had it all, a career, prime spot for Senate, and a woman who loved HIM. It wasn't enough, well yes it was. He just forgot to destroy the evidence that could take it all away. Oh yeah, and fire that heartless Marty.
That is enough insider info for you guys. Go and get this book by Christina. Although she writes about billionaires there money and wealth is not the for front. It's family, love, and giving back. I have been a fan of the Sherbrookes since book one and that will not change. Jake made me fall in love with him even more, Trent is one lucky SOB.
Billionaire Trent Sherbrooke has spent his adulthood as the consummate ladies' man, never worrying about his reputation...which he really should have, given his family's political connections and his own political ambitions. However, when he decides to run for the Senate, he needs a reputation makeover STAT. His campaign manager suggests a loveless marriage with an appropriate woman, but Trent is unconvinced, especially when he makes a connection with interior designer Addison Raimano. Will Trent and Addie take the time to see where their relationship goes or will Trent's political ambitions get in the way?
Christina Tetreault has done it again with a romance that's entertaining...the romance novel equivalent of comfort food. Trent is a basically nice guy who needs to find the right woman to settle down and Addie is an independent woman who needs to learn to trust someone else with her heart. It's cliched, but in the best way that makes it a light, fun read.
This one was just an ok read for me. While I really liked Addie I wasn't a huge fan of Trent. The things he would do for his campaign were underhanded and sneaky. The story overall was pretty good.
I’ve become a big fan of Christina Tetreault over the last few years. When I discovered the opportunity to purchase the audio version for $1.99, I immediately took advantage of it. This is Book 5 in her The Sherbrookes of Newport series, and it’s the best one I have read so far!
Trent Sherbrooke is the typical playboy, never having any type of relationship other than sexual with any women. While his initial plans to go along with his campaign manager’s suggestion to find a suitable wife, sounded like a good option to help repair his damaged image, he does not believe Addison would be the right woman. He thinks he needs a woman who is well aware that it will be strictly a business arrangement, mutually beneficial for both of them.
When a picture shows up in the tabloids, and his manager tells him she is exactly what he needs, he balks, but eventually goes along. He soon realizes that Addison is a woman of substance, and he no longer wants just a marriage of convenience. He wants the real deal.
Can what started out as a means to an end, turn into a forever kind of love, or will Addison run if she finds out how their romance originally started?
Redeeming a Billionaire is a fast-paced, easy reading experience. Ms. Tetreault’s writing style is smooth and flowing, making this an engaging story. The plot is believable and the characters are great.
Addison is an endearing heroine, and I became fully vested in her character from the start. It was hard to trust Trent since he had such a bad reputation as a “love ’em and leave ’em” kind of guy, but she still manages to open her heart to him and believe he can fall in love with her.
At first, I was not sure I would like Trent. His reasoning for going along with his manager’s suggestion is underhanded and does not show him in a favorable light. As the romance unfolds, his quick turn around involving his feelings for Addison, went a long way in getting me to fall in love with his character. By the end of the book, I was rooting for him to win Addison’s devotion.
The sensuality of Redeeming a Billionaire is a step up from what is normally there in Ms. Tetreault’s books, and definitely, fit this story. The chemistry between Trent and Addison is combustible, and I thoroughly enjoyed their love affair.
I listened to the audio version performed by Piper Goodeve and really enjoyed her narrative. She reads with just the right amount of emotion and gives the characters distinct voices. I will be looking for other books narrated by Ms. Goodeve.
If you like a light-hearted love story with good depth of character and a great plot, then you will love Redeeming a Billionaire as much as I did. Although this book is part of a series, it is a stand-alone. Happy reading!
This is just me, but I can't finish this one. I'm at 27% and I can't figure out what the point of the story is. So far I don't feel any real "chemistry" between the H and h although the author keeps telling us that they are inwardly lusting for each other. I'm calling it quits and pulling another book from my TBR pile.
Trent Sherbrooke is the typical billionaire playboy, never being a a real relationship other than sexual with women. His initial plans to run for Senate is his main focus his campaign manager suggests he finds a woman to have a marriage of convivence to damage his reputation.
Addison Raimano literally, bumps into the handsome billionaire, who she knows by his reputation in the magazines. When he offers to pay for her dry cleaning she inform him it's not necessary. There is something intriguing about this woman to Trent. Could it be because he cannot just win her over with his good looks and charm. She finds out she might have just been part of a campaign for votes. Will she believe Trent truly loves her or will she walk out of his life for good.
Can Trent convivence Addison that he truly believes she is the woman of his dreams. The woman of woman of substance, ambition, love and security that he needs to be a whole man. What will Trent have to prove to win his lady back? Maybe his own ambition. Read this story of this unique and sexy couple. Each person completes the other to make them whole.
Trent Sherbrooke is ready to run for Senate and follow in his family footsteps of being a political figure. Trent's father is a judge, and his uncle is the president, however Trent's political dreams may not happen with his playboy reputation. When Trent campaign manager Marty convinces him, he needs a respectable wife to help repair his reputation he does not hesitate, however this decision may end his dreams before it even gets started. Trent runs into Addison on the way to his favorite pastry shop before meeting his father the judge. Addie is a young, passionate, determined, motivated, and smart woman who opened up her own design company. Addie also works at her big Italian family bakery business that come from generations of bakers who own a few bakeries. Marty convinces Trent Addie is perfect for the fake wife role when a picture of them suddenly appears, with her seeded hometown roots of generation the public will love them reminding them of his cousin Callie and Charlie. Trent is a sweet gentleman who isn't prepared for the affect Addie will have on him. Addie is a hard worker trying to keep her struggling business afloat as she works at one of the many bakeries they have when she falls head over heal for Trent. Addie doesn't realize the dramatically huge changes that are heading her way. Trent has to face reality for the consequences of his mistake. I loved Trent and Addies story.
Thank God the cover model was this one; that other gives me the creeps. I couldn't have read the book. That said, I'm giving it 2.5 stars. It was a light, enjoyable, and quick read, and it had some good moments. A couple of grammar errors caused me pause. I didn't rate it higher because I thought so much of it was superficial, especially regarding the families and Trent's potential Senate campaign. The couple themselves were better delineated although that seemed like a lot of tears for a guy, especially a playboy. This is my first book by this author, so as a new reader, I had no background on many of the secondary characters. Thus they all seemed like cardboard cutouts. There was one big warning that was never dealt with or resolved. What's up with that? This book was free, and I'm currently undecided if I'll read more.
Sweet, unassuming girl meets outwardly roguish billionaire playboy with heart of gold in a meet-cute way...pretty standard stuff for chick lit. The good news is that the character development is a bit better in this book than in most in this genre.
The bad news is that the 'big misunderstanding' so typical of this kind of book is more overwrought than necessary and destroys much of the credibility of the female protagonist. Don't get me wrong, she has justification for her anger, but I felt like her method of handling it didn't fit with her established persona.
Bottom line: as modern romance goes this is not bad, but it's not particularly compelling. You can read it in an afternoon and not remember it two hours after you finish it.
Trent Sherbrooke is making his way to be a U.S.Senate but is advised to repair his playboy rep by marrying a respectable woman to win over the public. Enter Addison Raimono, an interior designer, and a chance encounter with said playboy and a spilt coffee. Things start to warm up between them, (the advisors plans going according to plan,) when the handsome playboy realises he looooves her! Then of course, all his intentions surface to bite him in his butt!!! A very tame, predictable, and at times, boring story. Book 5 in the series but, other than mentioning (or meeting)other couples, presumably from previous books, it can be read as a standalone.
Why must every book have a tie in to the rest of the series. I get that weddings and births are where we see everyone. But the "hey everybody is happy" picture authors present is disappointing. If you are going to give me more coverage of past couples give me fighting and hardship. Pick a couple that was wrapped up but still had issues, and show them working it out. Like a woman who couldn't have a child breaking down in private only to be comforted by her husband. Have them meet for a funeral and show how everybody has a rock to cling to in grief. I get that a new baby and weddings are happy occasions but life is bittersweet.
Redeeming The Billionaire ( The Sherbrookes of Newport Book 5 )
I just love what Christina is doing with the Sherbrooke boys . The way they break the hearts of these women and then they just see a woman a the next thing they know that woman have their ❤hearts and to the alter they go . I just love it😂 . Now I am getting ready to start the next one but I have to wait ✋ a couple of days but I can hardly wait . I will see you again in about a week !!!
This is another great book in the series. This time Trent us the line looking for happiness. Little did he know that he would bump into her outside his favorite bakery. Addison bumps into Trent after getting coffee at her families bakery on her back to her design business. Little did she know that it would be fate.
Another great read it's been a while from I read this series and although I wasn't sure about Trent I think he is me fav, in ways he wasn't what I thought like him being romantic and in others he was he was like the cad and the underhanded he was with Addie at the start, loved hearing about the rest of the clan and can't wait for more
The plot was laid out by large breadcrumbs, maybe croutons, from the beginning. Still fun to read. Interesting characters, nice pace. Teasing dialogue. Vulnerable leads, without dwelling.
This is book 5 of "The Sherbrookes of Newport" series. This was Trent and Addison love story it was an enjoyable love story with some shenanigans, emotions, and great chemistry. It was great revisiting with this great big Sherbrooke family! I love this series. Thank you for your review.
While the story was just okay, the abrupt ending was not. Not sure what the author was thinking. But, that cost at least one star. Not sure I want to read anything else by her at this point.
