Karen and Paul couldn't have possibly met at a worse time... She is about to leave their small town and pursue her dreams of getting her masters in library sciences, and he is balancing his life between his job as a cop and raising his pre-teenage daughter as a single parent. Dating and beginning a relationship is totally out of the question for these two, but are they just avoiding the inevitable?
Karen is full of sass, and Paul has a touch of that brusque attitude that builds the tension during their budding romance. Living next to each other and having a shared driveway, they can't help but to run into each other. Over time they come to depend on each other, physically and emotionally.
This novel has a high heat level; the couple have phone sex one night, and flirt shamelessly. Still uncertain of where their relationship could possibly go, they convince themselves that they can have one hot night, ONLY, and then the next day go back to being friends. Karen propositions Paul, asking him if he is as good in person as he is on the phone. Paul of course happily accepts this challenge...
Their hearts collide when Karen learns that her brother has been in a bad car accident, and Paul swoops in and takes care of her travel arrangements, provides comfort to her, and checks in on her frequently. She realizes at this point that she does need him, and is willing to see where their relationship will go. -Despite the fact that she will be leaving shortly to attend college for a year. Paul supports her decision to the fullest, and would rather wait for her for a year, than to not have her in his life at all.
Where Their Hearts Collide, by Zoe York is a sizzling small town romance that I enjoyed reading. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is interested in an erotic romance with a sweet ending that the reader will root for all along.

This is a really sweet and hot story of Karen and Paul. They couldn't possibly have met at the worst possible time in their lives, Karen decided to follow her dream and go back to school and Paul wants to be a better dad for his kid. But if it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

“He wasn’t perfect. But he was something a little special”
Paul has just moved to Wardham he has left his job as a homicide detective for one that is less stressful and demanding. He's not looking for a fling, in fact, he's not looking for anything, and all he wants is to repair his relationship with his 10yr old daughter. However, he soon realizes staying away from Karen is a lot harder than he thought.
“As a man, he couldn’t help but notice women. Particularly this woman”
I like the storyline it was an easy, sweet, and oh wow!! Sexy read. I get the feeling that Zoe York is making each book sexier that the last, and I’m happy with that. Love the flirting, chemistry, sexual tension and the passion between Karen and Paul.
“The harder each one of them pushed against their growing attraction the tighter the web around them gathered”
I like Karen and Paul; they did frustrate me a few times as their communication skills could have been better. Karen was hilarious at times, I could tell she was torn but it was great to see her do something thing that she really wanted to do. Loved the relationship that she develops with Paul daughter. Paul was great loved his alpha side, and he can whisper in my ears anytime. I could understand his hesitant to start something with Karen, but I loved that when he knew what he wanted he went for it.
“If I’m going to flirt with anyone, it’s going to be you”
Overall I like Where Their Hearts Collide, It was lovely so see what some of the previous characters are up to. I did feel that it was a bit slow in the middle and that the ending, which I liked, was a bit rushed but that being this was it was still a delightful read. I like the epilogue it wasn’t as far into the future as I thought it would be, but the hints that Zoe gives you about the next book in the series, When They Weren't Looking which is Evie’s story I understand why. So I’m looking forward to starting that one next.
As always I recommend this sweet romantic series for the times when you want something that is low on the angst and drama.

Delightful contemporary romance. Karen Miller lives an runs the local market in Wareham for her parents,having returned from college years before without icompleteing her degree in library sciences . Karen is well known and liked by the whole town and because of her job she is usually in the middle of all the town gossip, but not when it comes to her new sexy neighbor, she has tried to introduce herself ; twice with no luck. Karen finally manages to introduce herself and finds herself very attracted to Paul, but he keeps sending mixed messages.
Paul is a single divorced father who has moved to Wardham to have more time with his daughter Meagan to make up for all the years h screwed up , so women and relationships are no on his priority list but Karen is going to prove to be a huge distraction . Karen decides it is time for her to go back to school and finish what she started her degree but it means selling the store, renting her home and desperately trying not to be attracted to her new neighbor, she know he is trying to,avoids relationship but they come to depend on one another.

Ignore it, be friends , have incredible phone sex, have a one nighter, well these two try it all but in the long run they are just going to have to face the challenges of a long distance relationship . There is something satisfying about watching characters overcome their own barriers to have a happy life. That is the case here with Karen and Paul as both think they can’t have what they want. They don’t explore options or consider anything outside the moment, and when they do, they seem to be on different pages all the time. They finally get it though, and that makes their HEA all the sweeter for it <3

This second full length novel in the Wardham series is the story of Karen and Paul. Karen has run her parent's local grocery store for several years, putting her dreams of being a librarian on hold. Finally deciding to take charge of her future she decides to go away to school but as she is making these plans meets her new neighbour Paul, a divorced police officer with a 10 year old daughter who is determined to start a new life in the small town. They are two ships passing in the night. An instant physical attraction sizzles between them, but the question remains whether they will stop long enough for it to develop into something more.
I'm really enjoying this series of small town romances. Karen's character is very likeable - friendly, engaging, and outgoing though a touch shy, and submissive to her own desires in order to please those around her. Equally Paul is well written as an attractive, strong, confident and caring single father. The sexual chemistry between them heats up the pages and the reader gets pulled into the story, hoping there will be some way that a compromise can happen, that they can both get the relationship they are looking for. I also liked how Paul's daughter Megan was an integral part of the story and the realism of how the choices they make will affect her. The ending was well done, in keeping with the story and very satisfactory. Here's hoping this series will continue for a long time! 4 heartwarming stars.

Read this as part of a box set of the Wardham series first six stories - and I was thrilled to get this set because I've always intended to finish out this series (having read the random one, here and there, completely out of order).
But the downside of going back and reading a favorite author's earlier books is that there can be a lot of growth in an author's writing, and things that didn't used to make me cranky as a reader now make me cranky.
Anyway, I read this a couple months ago and the only thing I really remember about the story is that the hero and heroine kept acting like there was no way their life goals could possibly be compatible. The thing I've loved about Zoe York's newer books is that she often writes about older couples (and by older I'm talking people in their 30s) who have maturity to them and real life complications to deal with. And they deal with them in mature ways. Sadly, not so much in this one.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review, so here it is. I am loving this series. Karen left college to help run her parents grocery store and never went back. Now she feels like life is passing her by. Paul is a divorced father of a 10 year old daughter and wants to change his life and have more time for Megan, his daughter. Moving to Wardham and work for the local sheriff. He doesn't want any other personal relationships. Karen wants to be friends with Paul, she is friends with everyone. Their first meeting is not memorable for him, he was going for a run and never noticed her. But karen finally talked to him when she caught him going to work. She wants more and he keeps backing away from his feelings. Will Karen finally go back to college so she can get a degree and work in the library, where she belongs? Will Paul finally show his feelings for her? If they decide to give the relationship a chance, will they survive the long distance between them? This is the third in the series by Zoe York and I love it, love her writing style too. If you like to read of real life issues, and these are as close as living them yourself, then pick up this series and enjoy them yourself!

I was given this book in advanced in exchange for an honest review. I loved the first two! and was seriously looking forward to the next Wardham book. It was great until the end. I guess I feel like it dragged on a bit and then was forced and rushed at the end.
Paul has moved to Wardham to basically put down roots, be a better father, and grow up. He is now a police man for the town and lives next door to Karen. Karen wasn't ready to finish school, came home, and somehow let life pass her by. Now the two have met and sparks are burning bright. The story was good. WE get to see some old characters like Carrie and Evie and get to meet Karen's family.
I really enjoyed reading this and can't wait for the next one. I'm not sure why I felt the way I did about the ending but it did not take away from the goodness of the story!

I really enjoyed this story the love blossomed between the main characters even though they tried to fight it. Paul showed through his actions just how much he loved Karen even though it took a lot for them to admit their feelings for each other even too themselves. The secondary characters all added great elements to the story and adding to the story instead of distracting from it. The build up in their relationship was good and the bedroom scenes were hot but I felt like the ending was rushed and could have been drawn out a little better and the epilogue could have maybe been a little later down the line but other than that I thought it was a very sweet well written story and the author did a great job engaging me as a reader!

I loved this book. The sex scenes are very steamy and the love story is very sweet. Paul and Karen's timing could not be any worse. Karen is going back to school in Toronto and Paul is navigating single parenthood with a 10 year old daughter but their hearts collide (hence the title) and they must figure out a way for their relationship to work. It is impossible not to root for Paul and Karen.

This was a pleasant read, about Paul and Karen are neighbours. Karen likes Paul he's the new police officer in town, he has a young daughter that is his main focus, plus doing well in his new job. He has no intention of getting involved romantically with anyone, but fate has a different plan.
While I quite liked this, I would have preferred a bit more meat to the story. The reasons these two could not be together were no reasons at all for me, if they had just communicated with one another more. Then it was all a bit of a rush to the ending.

This isn't about a millionaire or a Navy SEAL or a famous sports star, this book is about two ordinary people trying to navigate life's challenges and make their relationship. Paul comes to town looking to settle down and build a relationship with his daughter whilst Karen is looking to get out of town and start living her life and achieving her dreams. This book is more sedentary than most romances but that just adds to its realism.

I have read all the other Wardham stories and I have loved everyone of them. This follows Karen who feels that her life is slipping away quietly so she plans to go on an adventure to fulfil her long lost wish and goal. Then her new sexy neighbour moves in and throws a spanner in the works, at first they are friends but the chemistry in undeniable. Karen is then torn between her sexy neighbour and her dream. And will the fact that she thinks Paul is at a different crossroads in his life than her affect matters. A hot steamy, sweet, heartwarming romance as always. A great read.

Karen and Paul have great chemistry together but personally found it hard to really care about them as a couple, for some reason they just did not work for me 100%.
Returning back to Wardham was fun, Paul's daughter Megan stole my heart and even though did not connect wholeheartedly with Karen and Paul in a relationship quite enjoyed getting to know each of them seperately.

Boring, no story to follow. I finished it because I really have to hate a book to give up on it.

Very sensual & steamy romance. Too bad that they are both so warry of commitment.
Karen is in her mid-30's and determined to go back to school to get her masters in library sciences. That has been delayed for almost a decade.
Paul the constable is her new next-door neighbor recently divorced and still dealing with custody issues of his 10 yr old daughter Megan.

Finding Courage
Karen put her education on hold during a time when a lot of her friends were heading back to university after break. Her parents had wanted to travel, so she decided they should chase their dreams and she would go back for hers later.
Paul, Karen's new next door neighbor, is the strong, silent, and gorgeous type. He doesn't introduce himself and doesn't acknowledge Karen when she tries. Twice. Paul is making headway in keeping his focus on his relationship with his daughter and a new job. No time for a neighbor, or the complications that brings.

Confusing
I liked this couple, but I found their back-and-forth about why they couldn't be together confusing. He comes to a small town to be more settled, but doesn't want to settle down with his attractive neighbor because it will distract him from being a good father. She likes him but he makes it plain that he's attracted but not interested. Then she decides that since she wants to leave town, he's perfect for a fling, just about the time that he decides it's a risk worth taking, and wants to try for a real relationship. So, because they want different things out of it, they can't be together. Then they can. Then she has doubts. More doubts, then they're together. As I stated, I liked them as characters, but I got a bit of whiplash.

Karen quit college years ago to stay home and run the family store. Going back to college in your 30's is hard but throw a new relationship into the mix is that much harder. You have to be able to trust each other and now that you will still be there for each other no matter what even though you are not seeing each other every day or even live in the same town. Paul is her rock through it all and he and his daughter give her something to come home to each weekend. You have to have the love and support of your family and friends to be able to this and make it work.
I love this book. It reminds me of when I was about that age and went back to school and how hard it was with just me and two kids.

A nice, single dad - falling for the neighbour romance. Paul is a cop and moved to a quieter area so he can spend more time with his daughter. Karen manages her parents grocery store and dreams of being a librarian even though she left her degree course 10 years previously. Karen confronts her neighbour and the attraction starts to grow. He doesn’t want to disrupt the status quo with his daughter and cause trouble with his ex. Karen applies to go away and complete her degree and so doesn’t want to get into a relationship. It doesn’t work out like that and then they both agree to a long distance relationship. It was not mind blowing, the big obstacle in the way of their romance seemed to be brushed over pretty easily.

Another quick easy read about the small town of Wardham in Canada. Karen runs her parents grocery store while they are retired, but always wanted to be a librarian. Paul is a single dad and a cop who moves to Wardham to slow his life down a bit and work on his relationship with his daughter.
They are neighbors and are immediately attracted to each other, but Karen is leaving for a year to get her degree to fulfill her dream. Paul doesn't want a fling that won't go anywhere so it seems they are at an impasse.
Low angst, easy read.

Unfortunately this one did not work for me. It felt jumbled all the way through. I kept thinking, wait, did I miss something? But no, it kind of jumped around and then left tons of loose ends and half-resolved storylines. Also again with too much sex and not enough meaningful story. Sad face. I like Zoe's Pine Harbour series much more than this Wardham series, so I will continue reading in that one and likely not read further from this one.

Pleasant read I grabbed for free with likeable characters.
Passed an evening but cannot say I will remember this in the future.
Liked how supportive Paul was and that he was the first to admit his feelings even though he wasn’t interested in a relationship at first.
Glad that Karen followed through on her ambition.
