Years of dreaming. Nine months of preparing. Fatherhood has finally arrived for Royce and Sawyer Locke.

Darla Grace is everything her fathers dreamed she’d be and more. Their precious daughter stole their hearts long before she was born and had them wrapped around her tiny fist with her first breath. But just when their lives start to feel perfect, a diabolical act triggers a chain of events they never could have seen coming. Royce and Sawyer will have to combine their fearless and relentless superpowers to take on this monumental challenge, albeit with a lot less sleep and formula stains on their shirts.

Brokered Betrayals is book three in the Felonies and Fatherhood trilogy, the third installment in the Royce Locke and Sawyer Key story arc. ** New readers should start with the Zero Hour and Matrimony and Mayhem trilogies before reading Felonies and Fatherhood. ** Brokered Betrayals continues Royce and Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the most anticipated phase of their lives. Heat, humor, heart, and homicide abound. You have been warned.

Royce and Sawyer finally become Dads 🍼🍼🍼

Over the years I have loved all things Royce and Sawyer but this treasure of a book stole my heart. Their beloved baby girl Darla has entered the world and changed their lives completely and they love every moment they share with her. It’s not just about the little family of three as all the other family and found family members enter sweet Darla’s life. There is some angst caused by a case that Sawyer and Royce are aware of but not directly involved in, due to paternity leave, but it does have a positive conclusion.
There’s many sleepless nights ahead for these two wonderful men and they will embrace it wholeheartedly as they revel in the magic of their much wanted little family of three.
Another beautifully crafted story from Aimee Nicole Walker that warmed my heart and left me smiling.

Sawyer and Royce ❤️

This read like and extended epilogue, with that being said the book was super cute but super cute wasn't the vibe of the series as a whole so I felt like I was reading two different characters if that makes sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this is their HEA, or at least it felt that way to me. It was super sweet and heartfelt ❤️.

I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Oof Brokered Betrayals was an astonishing miss for me. I'm pretty heartbroken because I've been a massive fan of everything Sawyer and Royce since these babes got on the scene, but unfortunately for me this series simply wasn't as captivating as Zero Hour and Matrimony and Mayhem.

I can respect that if I'd never come in contact with a baby that this would have been more…elucidating. But because I have, this was cute but uninteresting.

Being new dads to a newborn is absolutely complicated and a new set of skills involved, but I missed the energy of them working an actual case, and maybe that anticipation was grounded in the fact that I'd read a bit more action into the title than I was supposed to. So that's definitely on me.

Exciting title aside, essentially this installment was the process of fatherhood for first-timers, from Darla's birth to their HEA.

Sawyer and Royce had a baby. They fed the baby. People held the baby. They watched Drag Race. They gave the baby a bath. A murder case they weren't working (but still got the deets on on the dl) stalled their adoption process. But because this IS a romance their HEA was on lock.

Baby Darla was certainly the most lovely and perfect addition to the lives of one of my most favourite couples of all time, and this "happily ever after" was a well-deserved ending+beginning to the next set of adventures (in parenting) for Sawyer and Royce: Felonies and Fatherhood.

Le Sigh! This book was the absolute perfect ending for Royce and Sawyer.

There are three sets of trilogies that chronicle the men from their first meeting as new detective partners. Royce was full of anger and took it out on Sawyer, who was dealing with trying to make a new start.

The men experience different life challenges with each series. The first three books dealt with them becoming a couple and falling in love. Then, of course, their engagement and marriage took the spotlight in the next set. And now, this particular series, Felony and Fatherhood, they are entering the most amazing and yet frightening stage of their lives–parenthood.

Naturally, there are still police investigations going on, but our guys are more in the background. I wanted to hug these men as they face new fears and the ultimate joy in their baby, Darla, who is beyond precious. The ever-so-competent and organized Sawyer became so unsure and worried. This couple had each other's backs at all times.

Evangeline, whom I adore, is the happiest Grandma on the planet, and Royce and his father are in a good place, finally. Seriously, this is the best way to say goodbye, even though I still want more of my favorite detectives. Happy reading.

3.5* rounded up

This is a good way to finish off our amazing couple. It is not a stand-alone, you need to go back to the Zero Hour series to understand the whole set-up.

I must admit, I am not the keenest on this series, it's for lovers of the couple and when you want to know how their lives evolved. It's not a romantic suspense book, more a romance between two great men and their journey into matriamony and family planning.

We are coming to the end and the start here. Baby Darla arrives and throws their lives into chaos. There is a bit of suspense around their lawyer but it's a small side note really.

The stars are for a great finish for this couple, Sawyer wanted a family and child so badly, his dreams already snatched away from him. Royce has learned to love, to be the partner and father Sawyer knew he can be and Royce overcame his family issues.

But - it feels like nobody ever had a child in this book. I actually found Sawyer a bit annoying, his anxiety in utterly overdrive and not just because of the lawyer issue.

I very much prefer the original start with the Zero Hour books. I love the Sinner's Son as it was more suspense than just a romance between an established couple but here we have again the loved-up couple and their first days with a baby.

After so much preparation, Royce and Sawyer are about to realize their dreams and become fathers. Darla Grace comes into the world to all the love the little girl deserves. Then something unexpected happens and they find themselves having to fae an unexpected challenge. They have no problems doing that. Only this time they have formula stains as well as sleep deprivation.

Royce and Sawyer were adorable in their love for this little infant girl. It was amazing to see. In addition, their families and friends joined in on the love fest. The adoption did not go without its problems leading to some insecurities for the new fathers. They did persevere, surviving sleepless nights and amazing gas from both ends. All of this was accomplished using teamwork with humor on the side. There was also lots of witty banter. It made for great reading. Feeling the love and watching the synergy makes this one book to uplift and remind us about the best things in life and they can be enjoyed by any couple.

This was such a lovely way to round out this long-running series and say a fond farewell to two utterly wonderful men.

I shall very much miss Royce Locke & Sawyer Key (now also a Locke!) but their signing off left me with a huge smile on my face.

In this book we don't really get an investigation as such, but there is a case which Sawyer & Royce get themselves caught up in via way of the legal firm that's handling their adoption.

Tension comes from both that case having a potential impact on theirs and the fears over becoming dads and Sawyer's fears about his parental rights being at risk.

It's a short read but still packs plenty of wonderful moments once Darla is born and I adored seeing these two hardened detectives getting all soft over their baby girl.

I'm going to miss these guys, so I hope Aimee pops back into their lives every now and then but I am looking forward very much to seeing where her writing is going to take me next.

A sweet, heartfelt goodbye that closes the series beautifully

This felt like such a warm, satisfying way to wrap up a long-running series and say goodbye to two truly wonderful characters. Saying farewell to Royce Locke and Sawyer Key was bittersweet, but their send-off left me smiling.

While this book isn’t heavy on the investigative aspect like the prior books, there is a case woven in through the legal firm handling their adoption, and it adds just enough tension to keep things moving.

A lot of the emotional weight comes from the personal stakes — the impact that case could have on their future, the nerves around becoming dads, and Sawyer’s worries about his parental rights. It’s a shorter read, but it’s full of heart, especially once Darla arrives. Watching two tough detectives completely melt for their baby girl was an absolute joy, and those moments made this finale feel really special.

All in all, an ultimate comfort read for those who have followed this multi-series love story.

This was such a lovely way to round out a long‑running series and bid a fond farewell to two utterly wonderful men. I shall very much miss Royce Locke and Sawyer Key (now also a Locke!), but their signing off left me with a huge smile on my face. While this book doesn’t center on a traditional investigation, there is a case woven in through the legal firm handling their adoption. The tension comes from how that case could impact their own, alongside the very real fears of becoming dads—especially Sawyer’s worries about his parental rights being at risk.
It’s a short read, yet it still manages to pack in plenty of heartfelt moments. Once Darla is born, I adored seeing these two hardened detectives melt into soft, doting fathers over their baby girl.
I’m truly going to miss these guys, but I hope Aimee lets them pop back into our lives every now and then. More than anything, I’m excited to see where her writing journey takes us next.

To be a part of Royce and Sawyer’s entire journey - from the day they meet as super reluctant partners to husbands and first time dads is wonderful. As not just a parent but as an adoptee, my heart was hurting for Sawyer. The fear he had as the non biological parent of Darla, I can’t imagine the fear a parent would feel in this instance. While IRL it’s amazing how far queer couples have come, instances like this show how the laws haven’t quite caught up with society. I also am so shocked how far Royce’s dad has come between their first book and now! Who would have thought it? You’re never too old to change!

Reading how the entire supporting cast come to rally around Sawyer and Royce as they welcome their daughter is so sweet! The investigation was definitely secondary in this book. I’m very impatiently waiting for Alec and Dane’s story.

Anyone with access to my Goodreads read list can tell you that literally anything Sawyer and Royce is a five star from me, but my goodness, this one just hits you right in the heart. Three trilogies these guys have, and it culminates in an entire book dedicated to their first few weeks as fathers. It’s so heartfelt, and the case isn’t something they’re directly involved in as they’re on paternity leave, but there’s still the angst of the case being solved in the background.

I can easily say that Aimee Nicole Walker needs to write another three trilogies about Sawyer, Royce, and baby Darla Grace Locke and I will eat them up! I’m actually going to reread all of their books because I don’t know how to get over there being no new Sawyer & Locke books to look forward to (yet).

Thank you GRR for the ARC. This review is honest and voluntary.

This is a beautiful way to sign off on the third trilogy of Royce and Sawyer! Unlike the rest of the books in the series (and previous series) this final book is 100% romance without the suspense. It's all about their little angel Darla and those first few days and weeks as parents. The whole thing reads as a wonderful epilogue for a couple I've followed since the start. Even with the few bumps along the way, this remains a heart warming read throughout with plenty of love, laughter and supportive secondary characters. I'm so glad these two finally got their complete HEA and I can only hope we keep seeing glimpses of their future when other stories set in this world are told, aka Dane and Alec! Overall, a great read when you've followed this pair through the rest of their earlier journey and I'd definitely recommend it.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Sawyer and Royce are back again but now they are about to be dads. Kelsey is such a saint and her husband is beyond amazing too. She gave them their precious daughter and no one could ask for anything more beautiful. The friendship that they have makes bringing Darla into the world even more wonderful. There is some mystery in this one but I love that’s it’s mainly about the love and awesomeness that comes with becoming parents and being surrounded by your loved ones. My heart aches for Sawyer a few times but when Royce came in to support him it was filled with all the feels.
This book was such a wonderful treat to read, I’ve followed along from book one when these two men pretended to hate each other to them becoming a family. I hope this isn’t the last we hear from Royce and Sawyer but if it is it sure was a beautiful ending. ❤️😁

Third in series and finale (Sawyer and Royce: Felonies and Fatherhood), must be read in order. Established couple. Quick read. Dual POV.

Sawyer and Royce finally get their dream family and we get the (final?) send off to two favorite characters/couples into their well-deserved HEA. This story was really just an epilogue to Sawyer and Royce’s journey as a couple and into fatherhood. I appreciated that there was still steam and romance between them and we got to see them embrace and support each other as they embark on being parents together. As always, a beautifully written story by this author about two men irrevocably in love and willing to do anything for each other. Perhaps it's time for a re-read of how Royce and Sawyer first met and built their life together. 4.5 rounded up

Royce and Sawyer's big day is finally here. Baby Darla arrives a bit early but is still so loved by them both, and they are so grateful to Kelsey. Everything is going wonderfully until it isn't. While still at the hospital bonding with their daughter, they notice that their lawyer isn't texting them back. Things regarding their adoption hit a snag when a partner at the law firm they are using is murdered and the situation involves possible coercion of birth mothers to give their child up for adoption. This book shows Royce and Sawyer's commitment to each other and their new family and also highlights the fears of adoptive parents. However, love prevails even thru sleepless days and nights.

These two men have made a life that is exciting and committed to one another and their work keeps them hopping. But everything is about to get a little more exciting as their daughter is born and they are even more besotted with her than they anticipated being. The joy and the perils of parenting are really centered. It is great to read along as characters who are intrepid in the face of all kinds of situations worry about how they will hold up as they are faced with a tiny human who enters their lives and hearts. Loved this, especially the emotional vulnerability that weighs on both Royce and Sawyer as they navigate this important life growth/change time.

Bittersweet farewell

After 3 separate trilogies of their own, plus cameos in 4 standalones as well as the Sinister in Savannah trilogy, Royce and Sawyer face their roughest and most rewarding challenge yet - the arrival of their baby girl. There is still plenty of their signature snarky humor, but really the focus is on softer things, family, and the wonder (and panic) of a newborn. The mystery is also there in the background, but primarily someone else’s responsibility. It’s fitting though that Royce and Sawyer’s relationship circles all the way around from their contentious introduction to the shared joy of fatherhood. One thing is for sure, Miss Darla Grace will be the most loved (and rabidly protected) girl in Savannah.

It can’t be over! After so many wonderful stories, ANW brings to a close her beloved Royce and Sawyer world. And along the way, we have gotten to know and love so many of their friends and families. As our journey with them wraps up, we get to see the start of their journey as parents. You just want to roll around in all the goodness of seeing how they handle parenthood, how they support each other. But the story wouldn’t be complete without a bit of suspense throw in that brings into question Sawyer’s adoption of Grace. Of course, it all gets solved and resolved. We get visits with so many dear friends through the book. Needless to say this can not be read as a standalone and yes, I did tear at the end. Thank you, ANW, for these men!

AWWWWWWWW!!!!!

SAWYER AND ROYCE: FELONIES AND FATHERHOOD Book 3. Brings this Series to a close. This Book is just so touching, funny and full of snark. I have loved this couple from the first time their names were linked together. This Book and Darla bring them full circle. AIMEE NICOLE WALKER is such an INCREDIBLE writer. She gives her men such purpose and they make a difference. It's been wonderful to watch them grow. This is something you need to experience if you're a fan of M/M Books. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS SAWYER AND ROYCE: FELONIES AND FATHERHOOD SERIES!!!!!!!!!!

A gentle, feel good conclusion that focuses more on family than mystery.

Rather than leaning into the crime elements that shaped earlier books, this final installment slows things down and centers on what comes next for Royce and Sawyer.

There’s still a thread of tension tied to the adoption process but it serves more as a backdrop than a driving force. The story really shines in its quieter moments. The uncertainty, the vulnerability and the fear of becoming parents is something both of them must overcome.

It’s shorter than the previous books but it delivers where it counts. Darla’s arrival softens things up in the best possible way. Just the perfect series wrap up.

This book should be read as part of a series, it's not a standalone.
Sawyer and Royce's Darla is coming, but there's a problem with the firm that is managing all the papers they need to be officially her parents.
They struggle with this, specially Sawyer whose insecurities run rampant with many more fears.
Aimee Nicole Walker writes a thrilling book, where our favorite detectives must stay out of the action and can only help their friends solving this mystery.
As always with this author a great book, with a solid argument, well written and edited. A great book to feel all the feelings and end with a happy heart.
I heartily recommend reading this couple love story.

This is the utterly perfect finale that we needed for Royce and Sawyer. Their baby has finally arrived and watching these two so perfectly supportive of each other as they go through the most important step of their lives, was truly beautiful. It is a joyous book, completely wholesome, although, at times a little bit heartbreaking as they struggle with some uncertainties outside of their control. But their foundations as a family are solid and unbreakable, and when that magic moment arrives for their family, it truly is the perfect ending to this series. Royce and Sawyer will forever be a comfort reread for me!

What a Sweet Ending for Our Tough Cops

Anything Sawyer and Royce and I’m on it, I’ve read the lot and these last books in the Felonies and Fatherhood trilogy have been a perfect way to say goodbye to these wonderful guys, although I sincerely hope we see them again from time to time, after all we have to know how their lil pumpkin is doing!

These books have been building up to the most important moment in their lives and this book gave us baby Darla and the first few weeks of Sawyer and Royce coping and settling into fatherhood and having the adoption hanging over them.

This book was like a warm hug and a wonderful way to say goodbye.

Sawyer and Royce’s daughter is finally here! It almost doesn’t seem real, especially to the new dads. Such a sweet story and a lovely ending to their journey, even if it is just beginning. Their process has a wrench thrown in it, but there is nothing that will keep the Lockes from becoming a family of three. I have loved every word written about these two. They have truly become one of my favorite fictional couples. Interestingly enough, another one of my favorite couples is also written by this author.

All I can say is WOW. This was definitely worth the wait. If you didn’t already love Locke and Key you would fall in love with them in this story. Aimee gave us everything we needed for an amazing story. She gave us love, fatherhood, family times, and a little mystery. This is an absolute one click. I PROMISE YOU WILL LOVE The Locke family. Thank you Aimee for sharing your amazing story with us. You always make me feel like I’m right there with them every step of the way. Loved, loved, loved it.

I've spent many years with them, with my boys, because they're a little bit mine and I love them to bits. Finally, after so long, they have managed to form the family they wanted so much with the arrival of Darla.

Many sleepless nights, many bottles, and many diapers await them, while they are on paternity leave, although there is a mystery unfolding in the background that this time involves them directly.

I loved it because it's the end of the road, but maybe I'll start again because, why not?

This was painful to read. I skimmed so much of it. It was a hundred pages longer than it had to be and nothing happened. Nothing. Honestly, I only finished it because it was so boring it was easy to skip huge chunks in the hopes something interesting happened. It didn’t. Everyone was so soft and cringe in the way they spoke, whole exchanges got repeated and every conversation felt clunky and unnatural in how soft and wholesome it was..

This was straight up awful. I’m done with this author. It’s okay to leave a series alone when it ends on a high.

The perfect ending to a perfect series with perfect main characters, Royce and Sawyer. As this is book three (and brings series to closureO, pay attention to the warning to read the books in order as each one takes the coupon along their journey to this one of trying to becoming a family with an adoption. I loved the main characters, the supporting characters, and how this book show us true love is never easy but it is so worth it. Like other books there is some drama but they handle it as a couple making them stronger. The perfect ending to a perfect series.

A delightful ending for Royce and Sawyer.

It’s a cute story, our boys becoming fathers. And there’s plenty of love and humour, as you expect from them. I’m going to miss them. But these two softees will be amazing fathers.

This is very heavy on the day-to-day life of child rearing, with only a hint of crime/mystery/suspense, which I would have loved to see more of. But we did get to see a cast of characters we love.

Hey, maybe we’ll get another series of them. I feel like I would about them well into grandpa-hood.

OMG, I can't believe that I write these words: but this was a just OK story. at least for me

in thus story we get Sawyer and Royce HEA with their daughter .... and I loved that. but it was way too long for me.

I think many will enjoy that book because we get to see them together, which is nice... but as I said, it was long
the "mystery" part was for me not god enough, especially as we only get pieces of it

nevertheless , I really hope we get Alex's and Danes book soon.

in all, it is nice to see their happy end
