The Stellvia Space Academy is one of several Space Foundations dedicated to saving Earth from a second wave of supernova explosions that is scheduled to hit the planet in 70 days. Shima Katose is a newly-enrolled student at Stellvia with exceptional skill as a programmer. Her dream - to be chosen as one the elite pilots needed to help save the earth.
Meh, this just fell flat for me for most of the manga. It was quite fun to read at times, but there was so much dialogue that wasn't that interesting that I just started to get bored, plus most characters were either verging on too annoying to bland. I did love how Shima was so good at programming and that she was able to do all those amazing things. I would have loved to see more about it/the school caring a bit more about it given that barely anyone has those skills. I do feel for Shima though with her piloting and how that work out (though kids, don't drive in space drunk ;P). I loved seeing her grow. Her friends were OK, though I wasn't sure if they fitted with her. They were sweet though. I like the romance (or well budding romance) between Shima and Kouta. The art was decent though I kept forgetting how Shima looked (she at times changes her hairstyle). Haha. I don't have the rest of the manga, this one was already a miracle that I found it. I may just rewatch the anime, because the dialogue and all that worked just better.
