I do love a Christmas story and Marietta add them together with Bramble House and you have a winner and this one is no exception, Amy and Chet are one of my favourite couples and with Christmas upon them and their Bramble House traditions will there be another couple who find love this year?
Amy’s brother Carson Wilcox has booked for the for Christmas as well as journalist Larkin Carrillo and you can see already that there is something between them, but when there is a series mishaps happen Amy is getting worried and the hopes she had for Carson and Larkin are fading, when Larkin is asked to do a piece for the local paper on Bramble House Amy is even more worried about what she will write.
Larkin is at Bramble House to help her grandmother after hip surgery and is stunned when she arrives for breakfast the first morning and sees her first love Carson there, nine years ago they were inseparable but one night changed all of that and Larkin left.
Carson has a chance to make things right with the only woman he will ever love that is if she will let him, but talking to her and finding out what happened all those years ago makes him more determined to convince her of his love.
Things are getting more worrying at Bramble House and Larkin is determined to get to the bottom of what is happening, will she find out the truth of the mishaps and more so will she let the walls fall that she has built around her heart and let Carson back in? I loved this one, it is a beautiful story and one that I would highly recommend, don’t miss this one.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own. A sweet romance, marked by some sadness for time lost but also so much hope for the future, happens in “Promise Me This Christmas”, by C.J. Carmichael, a chance to revisit the lovely Bramble House B&B, in Marietta, Montana. I loved the romantic couple in this installement, Larkin and Carson, both as individuals and as a couple, and how well they fit in with the other Bramble House “people” we’ve already met. Larkin is a smart, determined, competent reporter, a strong young woman who overcame valiantly a traumatic event. Carson is also determined… to win back his first and only love, Larkin. He’s so sure, earnest and passionate about his feelings for her. He admits regret over misunderstandings and its devastating effects, particularly on Larkin, and lost chances, and he really and deeply wants to try again. I liked how the author wrote about the negative impact of said event and how Larkin dealt with it going on enjoying life. The connection between Larkin and Carson is evident, and it’s wonderful to watch their past friendship and love rekindle. The story is compelling and entertaining, too, with the mystery and the small town and local newspaper dimensions. Revisiting Bramble House and meeting again its owners, Amy and Chett, their son, their staff and the small town of Marietta inhabitants was a pleasure.
I had the pleasure of reading an advanced copy of Bramble House Christmas and absolutely fell in love with it. From the very first chapter, I was drawn into the cozy yet suspenseful atmosphere of Bramble House. The author perfectly balances the warmth of a small-town Christmas romance with a genuinely intriguing mystery that kept me turning the pages late into the night.
Larkin and Carson’s story tugged at my heart. Their shared history, emotional scars, and second-chance connection felt authentic and deeply moving. The tension both romantic and mysterious builds beautifully, and I found myself rooting for them through every twist. Amy and Chet’s return, along with the familiar charm of Marietta, made it feel like revisiting old friends.
What I especially loved was how the author wove together healing, forgiveness, and hope in the midst of the holiday season. It’s not just a sweet romance; it’s a story about finding strength after pain and rediscovering trust and love.
If you enjoy heartfelt holiday reads with a touch of suspense and a lot of heart, this one’s a must. I’ll definitely be picking up a finished copy when it releases!
This is book 4 in the Bramble House Chronicles series. Once again it is Christmastime at Bramble House and Amy and Chet have a full B&B! There's a lovely couple, a grumpy older man who complains about everything, Ethyl, recovering from hip surgery with her Granddaughter, Larkin, there to help her, and Amy's brother, Carson! From the get nothings arent quite as they seem. Small thi is start to go wrong, Larkin and Carson meet up after 9 yrs apart, there's a new hire who may not be all she seems, and Amy is slightly worried she is losing her mind!! All this adds up for one terrific ride with a mystery and romance all thrown in. This was another fantastic read!
Christmastime celebrated at the Bramble House but some odd things happening as well as romance. Catching up with previous characters is always great and I loved reading about Chet and Amy’s little boy. Another group of interesting people stay at the house including Carson, Amy’s brother, but he has an ulterior motive. The story celebrates the season, has some intrigue, and possible rekindling of a high school romance between Carson and Larkin who is back in town to take care of her grandmother. I voluntarily read an advance copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
PROMISE ME THIS CHRISTMAS by C. J. Carmichael Release Date November 10,2025
Thanks C.J.!! Not only have you done it again, but you’ve done it in Marietta. I absolutely love this town and Brumble House seems to be the heart of it. The only part that makes me sad is it’s not real and I really want to go there for Christmas. 😂
This one was just pure magic! The way you write about Amy and Chet and the B&B just makes you feel like you’re there. I loved the little mystery that you added to the story and loved cranky Gibson. But Larkin and Carson’s story was my favorite part of the book. I love second chance romance.
I highly recommend this Christmas story. Especially if someone likes a Christmas story with a little more to it.
Thank you too C.J. Carmichael ant Tule publishing for this ARC in return for my honest review.
Promise Me This Christmas by C.J. Carmichael is a fabulous book. It is the fourth book in her Bramble House Chronicles. It has so many of my favorite things in it. There is an emotional second chance romance, it is Christmastime, the book is set in Marietta, Montana, there is a mystery to solve and we are at the Bramble House B and B. The owners of Bramble House, Amy and Chet are ready for their guests during a week of special events in the town. The guests include an older couple who are experiencing their first Christmas without their adult kids joining them, a single man who is perpetually grouchy, Amy’s brother Carson, Kris, who acts as the Santa for the Graf hotel, Edith, an elderly lady from Marietta who is recovering from hip surgery and her granddaughter Larkin, who is there to help her. Carson lives an hour away on his parents ranch. Larkin now lives in Denver and works as a reporter. The pair used to date in high school until they had a major falling out nine years earlier.
Edith is thrilled that Carson is also at Bramble and tries to act as matchmaker. Larkin never told anyone why she and Carson broke up. She is still very angry at him and tries to avoid him. He has no idea why she is angry and is still very attracted to her. When the contractor puts off the renovations for Edith’s house, Carson offers to do it so she can return to her house as planned. Larkin and Carson finally have a heart to heart and clear the air. She realizes she also still has strong feelings for him but with them living in separate states, she doesn’t see how they have a future.
There are strange things happening at Bramble. The first thing is the afternoon cookies are overdone. A couple of the guests commented on it and Amy knew her cook was top notch so she’s not sure what happened. After there was a complaint on the coffee, she realized the wrong beans were used that morning. Then the grouchy guest found a dead mouse in his room. Amy is worried as she depends on the five star reviews and is afraid this set of guests won’t be giving her that. The guests also participate in many fun holiday activities in Marietta; chocolate making at Sage’s Copper Mountain shop, sledding, ice skating and meals at the Graff, the Diner and Rocco’s and shopping in town. After an incident at the holiday tea Amy is hosting, everyone is talking and speculating on if someone is intentionally trying to make trouble for Amy and Chet.
This is a wonderful story. There are many heartfelt moments. The interactions between the characters are great. Larkin and Carson finally talk and she shares her what happened to her in the past and they discuss the future. Their love has endured and is romantic to read. Amy and Chet and their son are creating a happy life together. Once the guests discussed their feelings and experiences, everyone was much happier. I love hearing about the activities at Christmas time in Marietta. It sounds wonderful. CJ Carmichael has given us another terrific series that builds on the prior Bramble House books. It is great that so many prior characters and places were part of this book as well. I also enjoyed trying to solve the mystery of the incidents taking place. This is a five star book I am happy to recommend.
I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
Promise Me This Christmas is the fourth title in the Bramble House Chronicles series. I have loved this series since the very beginning, and Bramble House has become such an icon of Marietta, Montana, over the years, that it’s almost a character in itself. Returning for another Christmas celebration was a complete joy for me, as I love catching up with Amy and Chet as their love for each other grows, and the reputation of Bramble House is in jeopardy from some unexplained mishaps.
Larkin had good reasons (in her mind) to leave Marietta and vowed never, ever to return. Unfortunately, her beloved grandmother needs help, and Larkin would do anything for her, even return to a place that holds painful memories. Once she and Carson were close, they could have had a future together except for one event that shattered Larkin and sent her running. Now, Carson has booked rooms at his sister’s inn for the holidays, and the last person he expected to see was Larkin. His feelings for her haven’t changed, and maybe this Christmas, he can finally get answers and convince her that they do belong together, no matter what has happened in the past.
Promise Me This Christmas by C.J. Carmichael is another fantastic addition to the Bramble House Chronicles. It’s full of healing and laughter, dealing with the past along with a few tears, new beginnings, and old relationships to find a second chance. There is a bit of suspense, a lot of love, and all the feels you could possibly want from any story set in my favorite fictional town. It’s well-written, heartfelt, and will easily draw you in from the very beginning. I loved everything about Larkin and Carson’s story, and would not hesitate to recommend it.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author’s team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review, giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Promise Me This Christmas by C J Carmichael is the fourth jewel in her Bramble House Chronicles series. Make no mistake… every C J Carmichael story is a valuable treasure. Her books are among my most cherished.
Amy and Chet Hardwick’s Bramble House Bed & Breakfast in the magical town of Marietta, MT has always set the benchmark for their guests. Our story begins just days before Christmas. Predictably, the B&B is fully decorated… four themed trees, and fully occupied. Kris Kringles, Marietta’s main Santa Claus is there. Also, Marjorie and Peter Kettles, minus their grown children, Gibson Adlington, a gruff unfriendly man, and Ethel Carrillo with her adult granddaughter Larkin. Ethel lives in Marietta but is recovering from a fall, and awaiting her home to be ADA modified. Plus, Amy’s half-brother Carson Wilcox is staying in the garage apartment to be near his nephew, maybe more.
This Christmas isn’t shaping up to be a peaceful quiet time at the B&B. Ethel’s contractor fails to fix her house. No worries… Carson comes to the rescue! It seems that Larkin and Carson were once a very serious couple. Young love, miscommunication, and hurt hearts are not a good formula. They haven’t talked in almost ten years. Will Bramble House work it’s matchmaking magic again? Will Bramble House survive the holiday? Problems are occurring where none ever existed before. Bad coffee. Burned Cookies. Marijuana laced brownies. A dead mouse. An icy exterior step. Too many issues to be bad luck. Can Amy solve the mystery? Can Carson win back Larkin? If he does, would she move to Marietta, or Carson move to Denver? Romance & Mystery. <3
I needed to read Promise Me This Christmas. It is a beautiful read. There are over 250 Marietta stories, but I’m always touched by the Bramble House stories. C J Carmichael’s stories always touch the reader’s heart. Promise Me This Christmas hugged my heart. C J Carmichael, Thank You! FIVE STARS!
This was an interesting format with some of the story being told from the point of view of Amy Arden, the owner of Bramble House who had her romance told in the first of the Bramble House Chronicles series. She is now happily settled with her Cowboy husband Chet and son Robin. Each succeeding story had had a HEA for someone staying at the B&B and with book 4 it is the turn of Amy's younger half brother Carson and his high school sweetheart, Larkin. Larkin and her grandmother Ethel are staying at Bramble House in the week before Christmas while Her grandmother's house bathroom is being renovated to have better accessible features after breaking a hip. Carson is keen to reconnect with Larkin as there has never been anyone since her that he really felt that spark. Larkin is still holding a lot of anger over what happened back then which Carson doesn't know about. She's determined to avoid him, but Ethel remembers Carson with fondness and keeps pulling them together. It's not until they start to talk that she realises that Carson wasn't a part of what happened, but a fellow victim of the manipulations of one of his friends. Once they start to talk, they realise that they still have that connection. But there are still issues that could keep them apart. Meanwhile, someone is sabotaging Christmas at Bramble House. It's a fairly lightweight mystery but does create a lot of anxiety for Amy and Chet. There are some great secondary characters staying in the B&B and they are all fully rounded characters and play their part in the story. I did enjoy revisiting Bramble House and seeing another couple finding their happy ever after.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book is so good. But I have loved all of the Bramble House B&B books. I have read a lot of books lately that the characters live in Marietta, Montana and it sounds like a place where everyone would love to live. My kind of place. I highly recommend "Promise Me This Christmas" to you all, and I know you are going to love it. Please let us know what you think.
In this book the B&B might be in trouble, as a lot of bad things are happening lately. One guest found a dead mouse in his bathtub, the B&B is known for its fantastic coffee, and it has been really off lately. One of the sidewalks had ice on it and one of the owners of the B&B was hurt and spent time in the hospital getting checked out. Seems like someone is trying ruin the sterling reputation that Bramble House has earned.
And just like the previous B&B books we have budding romance that might turn into be much more again. This time the romance is between Carson Wilcox and Larkin Carrillo. Carson is a rancher, and Larkin is a journalist. They had dated when they were younger but this time, they both can see what they let slip through their fingers. Something very painful happened the night of their High School Graduation and Carson left Marietta swearing to never return. Carson is here visiting his sister Amy, her husband Chet and his nephew Robin, owners of the B&B. Larkin has returned to help her grandmother. She had taken a fall and now was learning to walk with a walker and take care of herself again. Her house is having some renovations to make it more comfortable for her to get around. Carson is doing the work on her house.
Promise Me This Christmas (Bramble House Chronicles) by C.J. Carmichael
Mysterious events threaten more than a new romance—check into Bramble House B & B this Christmas…
C.J. Carmichael is one of my favourite authors, and this series continues to prove why. Promise Me This Christmas is another heartwarming and wonderfully written addition to the Bramble House Chronicles. The author’s storytelling shines through once again, bringing to life characters we’ve come to love and deepening the charm of the cozy small-town setting.
This story has everything you’d want in a Christmas read—romance, mystery, and a touch of holiday magic. Mysterious happenings at the guest house build intrigue as Christmas approaches, and there’s even the surprise arrival of an old flame to stir things up. When tragedy strikes and owner Amy is rushed to the hospital, emotions run high, and the bonds between the characters are truly tested.
I won’t share any spoilers—this is a story best experienced firsthand. My words could never do full justice to the warmth and depth C.J. Carmichael brings to her characters and the world of Bramble House.
Highly recommended for fans of heartfelt holiday romances with a dash of mystery. And if you haven’t yet read the rest of the Bramble House series, you’re in for a treat!
A Christmas to remember - This is a wonderful Christmas read, the Marietta setting a perfect fit. Chet and Amy (Promise Me Please, Cowboy and A Baby at Bramble House) are basking in parenthood with adorable little boy Robin and working feverishly to maintain the Bramble House standards of excellence. But someone is causing trouble, pulling pranks that escalate from annoying to dangerous. A little mystery to be solved that is a nice addition to the story and it's always a joy to catch up with characters from other stories.
Ex-lovers Carson and Larkin are reunited at Bramble House. Their young love was ruined by a fiend who was jealous, their pride keeping them from communicating properly. The hurt they both suffered lost them almost a decade together, neither ever loving another in the interim. Staying at his new sister's home gives Carson the perfect opportunity to woo the women he never stopped loving. Urged on by her gran, he gently coaxes her back into his arms and sets himself up as her champion. That confrontation was too long in the coming, but no less a sweet gesture. A great couple who finally get the HEA they deserve.

Christmastime set at Bramble House. We catch up with Amy and Chet and guests at the inn.
Amy's brother Carson, a rancher, is visiting and so is his former girlfriend, Larkin. Coincidence? Larkin and her grandmother are staying at the inn while her home is renovated to accommodate her following surgery, but when the contractor falls through, Carson steps in. As Larkin and Carson spend more time together, sparks ignite, but will they find a way to a second chance?
Another guest seems to find fault with everything. Kris is back as The Graff's Santa Claus. A couple is there, but they're used to being around family, and the wife would love to help in the kitchen.
Strange things are happening, and it has Amy feeling gaslighted. Wrong coffee in the machine, cookies overbaked, and each new thing going wrong seems to be worse, the tea fundraiser is almost ruined, and finally Amy is injured by another mishap. Is someone intentionally sabotaging Bramble House, and if so, why?
This book delivers on Christmas, romance, mystery, and a wonderful visit at Bramble House. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit, so grab a cup of hot chocolate and a cozy blanket when you read this holiday story.
Promise Me This Christmas is a return to the gorgeous Bramble House bed and breakfast in Marietta Montana. In this story, hosts Amy and Chet’s son Robin is now one and proving both a delight and hard work for his parents. With Amy determined to make this a perfect and memorable stay for their guests, while also struggling with the demands of an active toddler, there’s plenty to keep her busy. When things start going wrong in the week leading up to Christmas, the stress levels increase, but Amy and Chet, who handle each issue admirably, can’t help wondering whether the issues re just a fluke or whether somebody is trying to sabottage them. Meanwhile they have a house full of guests to keep happy, among them Amy’s brother Carson and his former teenage girlfriend Larkin, now a journalist. It’s clear that those two still have romantic feelings for each other but there are also roadblocks for them to negotiate before they reach a happy ever after. The characters in this story are all wonderful and engaging and if you’re after a sweet small-town romance with all the feels, this story will do the trick for you.
I love second chance stories, and this is a good one! Larkin and Carson grew up together, were best friends and finally lovers. Everyone expected them to marry, but a fight and incident on prom night sent Larken fleeing. Now, nine years later, Larkin was staying at Bramble House B&B with her grandmother who was recouperating from a broken hip, and awaiting renovations to her home to accomodate her injury. Carson was Amy’s half-brother and when he saw that Larkin had booked a reservation at her B&B, he decided to stay there too. Things got off to a rocky start with Larkin and Carson, but conversations led to a revolting revelation and clarification of several misunderstandings. Meanwhile, strange things were happening that could alter Bramble House’s reputation. Add to that a cranky guest, a toddler, lots of snow and a matchmaking granny, and you have a delightful story with a few surprises and a happy ending.

Sometimes the past needs to be revived to clear the air. That was most assuredly true for Larkin Carrillo and Carson Wilcox.
Larkin is staying at the Bramble House B & B with her grandmother while her grandmother's home is being redesigned. She is shocked, and more than a little unhappy, when she sees Carson Wilcox walk in. Carson reminds her of a time she would rather forget.
Larkin and Carson are being given a second chance, but they have to be willing to take a chance on the other one. Both have walls up, for very different reasons. Carson knows he needs to clear the air, but he does not know how to start. The chemistry was present, even if Larkin did not want to admit it. This slow burn, second chance romance was enjoyable to read.
I enjoy a good second chance romance, and this one had a little mystery thrown in as well.
Thank you to Tule Publishing and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
In this book we return to the Bramble House Bed and Breakfast. Amy is now running it with more confidence. Just in time for some mysterious things to start happening. Larkin returns to her hometown to help her recovering grandmother. The two of them are staying at Bramble House while her grandmother's house has some safety updates done to it. Larkin has not been back since she left abruptly after her traumatic prom night. She never reported the assault, but it has caused her to shut herself off and not trust people. When she sees her high school bestie, Carson, at Bramble House she is surprised. He was her first everything. She thought they would go off to college together. He thinks she betrayed him. They decide to team up to determine who is causing the problems at Bramble House. Will that be enough time to convince Larkin to give him a second chance? Can he handle the truth from all those years ago? Good read.
Promise Me This Christmas Book 4 of Bramble House Chronicles by C.J. Carmichael Back to Bramble House and the last of the year holiday guests have arrived. One seems to be a grumpy guest and finds everything wrong. another is a granddaughter and her grandmother. They are having a great time, even Larkin gets a job to write a story, and her grandmothers house is being renovated after the stroke to accommodate her. Amy's long lost brother is also there, and he knows Larkin and they've had a relationship in the past. Another couple want to help out. With the new hire things are still going wrong with how things work at the inn. So much is going wrong with everybody's plans but things do work out, maybe not the best. Love holiday cheer and everything there is to do during the holiday. Great holiday read.
Promise Me This Christmas has an inside look at the owners of Bramble House and the guests that are staying there. By C.J. Carmichael this is the third Christmas for Amy and Chet but the fourth book in the Bramble House Chronicles Series. Amy’s half-brother, Carson Wilcox is one of the guests with an extra reason for being there this year. Along with him there are several other guests who seem to have extra reasons. One woman ask to use the kitchen to make better cookies than those served one day. Very odd indeed. I have stayed at several inns but would never suggest such a thing, so you want to read on to see what her motivation is. This makes it an unusual holiday season for the owners as well as the guests. Yet it is an enjoyable book for the reader, remembering all those who help to make our holidays jolly.
CJ Carmichael takes us back to the Bramble House B&B in the latest book in her Bramble House Chronicles series with PROMISE ME THIS CHRISTMAS. Amy and Chet welcome a new group of guests to Bramble House, but this year isn’t like those in the past. Most of the guests seem to be missing the holiday spirit, and, on top of that, things start going wrong and threaten the B&B’s stellar reputation. With a little bit of romance and a little bit of mystery, this was such a fun read, perfect for the holidays, and I flew through it. I loved the characters, old and new, but if you haven’t read the earlier books, you won’t be lost, as this one stands alone nicely. Settle in for the holidays at Bramble House, and, if you love it, there are more! Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy of this novel. All opinions are my own and freely given
Promise Me This Christmas by CJ Carmichael is the fourth book in a series set in Marietta Montana about the brambles B&B. This was my first book from the series and is a great example of why I don’t like starting in the middle although it said it could be read as a standalone as soon as a book started I knew nothing about the people they spoke of like why lark left why her and Carson needed a second chance blah blah blah but like most stories by the third or fourth chapter I was all in and definitely rooting for the couple I did wish lark would’ve eased up a bit sooner because she really at first was coming off Stony… Is that a word? Either way by the end I was definitely rooting for them and it definitely ticked all the boxes I read romances for. I just now have to go back and read the first three lol! #BookSprout, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview,
What a marvelous addition to the Bramble House Chronicles series! In this book Bramble House gets hit with some unusual mishaps and Amy’s half-brother rancher Carson Wilcox gets a second chance with journalist Larkin Carrillo currently living in Denver back in Marietta helping her grandmother after hip surgery. The book offers the romance of Carson trying to win Larkin back and the mystery to solve as to who is sabotaging Bramble House as well as all the cuteness that comes with sweet toddler Robin and the beauty of a snow-filled Christmastime. I will mention that there’s a difficult retelling of a rape that took place for those that this might be an issue for when reading. I love the bonding that takes place amongst the guests eventually at Bramble House. I’ve enjoyed each of these books.

I loved this one, the fourth book in the fabulous Bramble House Chronicles - we are back with Chet and Amy, owners of the Bramble House B & B with a rambunctious son and an assortment of guests to keep them on their toes! Rancher Carson Wilcox, Amy’s brother, and journalist Larkin Carrillo are two guests at the B&B, they have a past and Carson desperately wants a second chance. With mysterious accidents and incidents occurring, Larkin and Carson find themselves thrown together, Larkin’s grandmother helps in the matchmaking, and their blossoming friendship turns into something more. This was a fun, cosy story with the magic of Christmas, the gorgeous town of Marietta and a mystery to solve. I love this series and encourage everyone to grab this when it’s released!
This is such a great love story right on time for the holidays!
We are back in Marietta (bring on all the small town feels), the Inn, and its owners, and a new love story with a bit of intrigue/suspense in it.
Larkin is back in town to help her grandmother, she is not a reporter and comes face to face with Carson, her first love - who broke her heart and left her. She has built walls to guard her heart, but Carson sees the opportunity to clear some secrets, and win Larkin back. He is going to need some help to find the forgiveness and redemption, but be ready for the small town to work its magic!!
A great read.

Promise Me This Christmas is book 4 in the Bramble House Chronicles by C. J. Carmichael 4.5 stars
Back at Bramble House, Amy and Chet are dealing with a full house, their new baby, a series of mishaps, Amy’s brother Carson and Larkin, a journalist coming back home for her ill grandmother. Carson and Larkin were once very close friends in high school and he is stirring up the past she wants to forget. Trouble is brewing on all levels and Larkin may be on to who is stirring up trouble for Bramble House and more…shared history, second chances, emotional scars…
I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Tule Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Strange occurrences are happening at the Bramble House B & B, things that could ruin their 5 star ratings. There is a grumpy guest who might be the culprit but no one is certain. Journalist Larkin is staying at the inn with her recovering grandmother and is collecting clues about the events. She is being wooed by Carson, a long time friend and more who broke her heart. Will the Bramble House work its magic on Larkin and Carson? And, who is the culprit? A story full of love to happen and a mystery to be solved. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Larkin and Carson were best friends and lovers in highschool but then it looked like she was cheating on him with his friend and that tore them apart. He didn't know what really happened to Larkin and how it's affected her and romantic relationships. Rape and the lasting trauma from it is discussed in the book. Can they overcome the past and have a second chance at love? Bramble House sounds like a magical place to stay with plenty of yummy food but bad things happen in this book with a dead mouse, pot brownies, mix ups, and Amy falling on the ice. I had a feeling who was behind it and I agree they should be held responsible.
Larkin and Carson were a couple years ago until miscommunication and jealousy caused a rift. Now she's back in Marietta to look after her grandmother, unfortunately Carson is back and wants to talk to her, she's trying to keep out of his way, which is difficult because he's staying at Bramble House too! Then some unusual things occur and people are getting worried. Larkin had a bad experience years ago and is wary of letting Carson in, but he steadily breaks down her walls.

Larkin and Carson are reunited when they, unknowingly, both choose to spend Christmas at Bramble House. Larkin is staying to help her grandmother recover from an injury and Carson is there to get to know his half-sister better. As Larkin and Carson renew their friendship, their love for each other slowly starts to come back. Meanwhile, there are some mysterious happenings at Bramble House and no one know who is behind them or the reason why. This book moved along at a good pace, was hard to put down and had lots of Christmas spirit in it.
