Learn all about the ice age and wooly mammoths in this prehistoric themed instalment of DKs' new educational fiction series for children.
Meet the Secret Explorers - a band of brainiac kids from all around the world. Everyone in this diverse group of young experts has a speciality, from outer space to dinosaurs, and each story follows a character who gets chosen for a "secret exploration". In this fun, fact-filled children's audiobook, Tamiko the dinosaur expert and Ollie the rainforest nut travel back in time to the ice age to help reunite a baby mammoth with the rest of its herd.
With a gripping narrative that keeps kids engaged, The Secret Explorers and the Ice Age Adventure book by SJ King is perfect for children who are into all things nature. It's written for children aged 7-9 years, with lots of information about extinct animals and the Earth's climate, to give them an exciting introduction to the prehistoric world.
At the end of this fictional audiobook, you'll find "Tamiko's Mission Notes" which is a summary of all the scientific facts and discoveries made throughout the story. With fun quizzes, and a vocabulary list, the educational value of this audiobook is outstanding.
This series is relatable for upper elementary readers. This time, the two explorers, Tamiko and Ollie, are sent back in time to the Ice Age to help a young boy who has gotten lost from his family. They track the mammoths to find the tribe and reunite Leaf with his parents. I appreciate the way this series weaves informative text with the story. Further information is provided at the end of the book.
This is the tenth book in The Secret Explorers Series. I love this series for children. Each book teaches children about a different experience in history and has a review section at the end for the children to review the key points.
In this exciting story Ollie, the rainforest specialist and Tamko, the dinosaur specialist, travel back to the ice age to help reunite a baby mammoth 🦣 with its herd! Can you imagine that Mammoth’s still walked the earth when they were building the pyramids!!
My children can read chapter books but these books are so much fun to read together. We have started using this series as read aloud during homeschool time and it is a hit! I love the characters and lengths and my kids love the topics and action (but they also aren’t too scary either).
My kids, 6 and 3, and I listen to these as audiobooks in the car. We like the format of an adventure story filled will science and history. I wish the series had more stories.
