They might be enemies. They might be allies. They might even be lovers…

For a thousand years, the fierce everwinds blessed the lands and people—until the winds died. Now the gods have been weakened, magic is almost gone, and all the kingdoms are vulnerable to thieves and brigands. And one grasping, greedy king wants to bring magic back all for himself by doing the unthinkable…as three warriors will do anything to stop him.

The prince whose beauty and clever tongue disguise his skill with a sword…and his torn heart.
The warrior who lies about his true identity and his magic, knowing that saving his people could doom himself. The spymaster who knows more than anyone can imagine—even if it costs what he most desires.

As their enemy grows stronger and more malicious, each man will be caught in a vortex of lust, loyalty, and conflict. The question is, will they accept where the winds will take them…or fight the destiny that’s been laid before them?

Winds of Destiny is a deliciously sexy polycule romantasy featuring three very hot men with really big swords.

Here the romance is in the driver seat, so it's more a romantasy than a fantasy. Can be a nice experience but in that case it strongly depends on the characters and unfortunately I couldn't relate to Cam. There's nothing to say against a brat in a romance especially when there are 2 other guys to counterbalance, but a spoiled princeling as an essential part to fight an evil king is a complete other matter.

Then there is Kai who pretends to be only the commander of entourage to bring Cam to his new home. He even accepts to play the part of a proxy husband until the 'real' marriage can take place but never really thinks about confessing that he is the real husband not even after having sex with Cam. In every other story that would be a disaster in waiting and to sell me a threesome is difficult enough without such complications.

Turo, I liked even while wanting to knock him on the head because he was blaming himself for Cam's selfish attitude, but he's a good example why I prefer the fantasy in the driver seat. If this would have been a fantasy with a strong romance arc then surely we would know about his past and what happened to his people because that would be an essential part of the world building and maybe it also would help to understand the religious system better. With the romance part dominant, it seems like world building is neglectable.

This is a romantasy story featuring two princes and a bodyguard. Camrael has been betrothed to Eleas and is being escorted to the his kingdom by his own bodyguard Turo whom he is in love with, along with the prince in disguise as Kai, and some of his men. They face obstacles, pursuit from a murderous King Embros, and betrayal in their journeys, but also come together to find love and a soul binding loyalty.

Cam comes across as fickle at times but just wears his emotions on his sleeve and has a big heart. Kai is the patient and understanding gentle giant of the trio and comes off as overprotective. Turo is Cam's childhood friend, bodyguard, and true love, but seems to be the most level-headed at times, except when it comes to Cam's safety. They are all very taken with each other, and free love seems to abound.

There was lots of world building, and the plot kept on pace, which made this a quick and enjoyable read. The ending leaves it open for a sequel to happen and their adventures to continue.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book but I was not disappointed! This book has a bit of everything. Adventure, magic, suspense, romance! I loved the main characters and the different gods were all so well done. The story was well paced and kept my attention the whole way through. My only problem is I don’t want to wait for the next book! I just finished and I already want more. I want to know what happens next. There’s no cliff hanger so no worries there but it’s definitely left the door open for more and I really hope we get it!

Personally this is a 5 star read for me. I really enjoyed the plot of this book. I enjoyed the characters as well. Turo, Kai, and Cam. Cam presented as spoiled and naive as well as rebellious. Turo is more reserved, keeps his feelings to himself. Kai is a warrior. Commands presence. I loved how each of them had their own personality. The idea of different kingdoms with their own deities was captivating. The only issue I had with this story was a personal one. I realized I need a girl in the mix to make it that much better. However, I did enjoy this story. I’m curious to see if there will be a second book. I want to know how Turo, Kai and Cam will bring the kingdoms back into place and what happens with Kai’s betrayer of a father.

This was everything I didn't know I needed and I had a great time reading this.

Prince x Spymaster x Warrior: We have Camrael, Prince of Zephyth, Turo, bodyguard & childhood friend to Camrael, and Kai, royal guard to Prince Eleas of Huridell (Cam's betrothed).

Romance: I freaking loved it. Camrael/Kai is a bit of an insta-love situation but Camrael and Kai/Turo is a delicious slow burn. Best of both worlds. I loved how they were so different and had distinct personalities that complimented each other so well.

Fantasy: While this is a bit romance heavy, I thought it was balanced perfectly with the world-building and magic. The world-building was pretty complex and at times I felt a little confused but ultimately it all made sense and I loved it. There were a lot of unique aspects to the world & magic systems that made it stand out from other romantasy books I've read.

This ended in a way that wrapped up the story while also leaving some things open-ended, with potential room for more books. I have no idea if this is going to be a series but I really hope so because I need more Cam/Turo/Kai and I especially want to dive deeper into Turo's backstory!

Set in a world where the everwinds have died and magic is fading, this story follows a prince, his bodyguard, and a new husband as they navigate betrayal, court intrigue, and the growing love between them. I loved the rich world-building, the fast-paced adventure, and the emotional depth between the three men. Their chemistry felt natural and powerful, making the polycule romance believable and heartfelt. The blend of action, magic, and spice kept me hooked from start to finish. I especially appreciated how the characters' relationships evolved so organically. If you’re looking for a spicy MMM fantasy romance packed with adventure, betrayal, loyalty, and steamy connections, I highly recommend picking this one up.

Prince Camrael is engaged to a man he’s never met. It’s a political match, and to make matters worse, Cam is already in love with someone else—his quiet and dangerous bodyguard Turo. But there’s no escaping Cam’s fate, especially once Commander Kai arrives, handsome, flirtatious, and charged with escorting Cam to Huridell where his new husband awaits. In a world with weakening gods, dwindling magic, and an enemy King who will do anything for power, a journey is never simple, and when a betrayal splits the group, all three men must embrace their destinies, protect their gods, and accept the love they share—before it’s too late.

When I picked up Winds of Destiny, I was expecting a fun, spicy, M/M/M why choose (which Cari Z certainly delivers!), but this book really shines through its top-notch fantasy writing. The author strikes the perfect balance between bedroom and battlefield, and I found the magic system, political history, and overarching plot so compelling that I was almost (ALMOST, I say!) impatient when the focus shifted to the growing tension and spicier moments between Cam, Kai, and Turo. I mean that, of course, as a massive compliment to Cari Z’s worldbuilding skills, because the romance element was a delight—steamy, dynamic, and heartwarming in all the right ways.

Each of the men are ridiculously easy to fall for (Cam is the Crown Prince of Snark and you can pry him away from my cold 💀 hands), but their characterizations feel important beyond their likeability—Winds of Destiny features queer men who experience and express the full spectrum of emotion, who are strong, who cry, who feel hopeless and helpless, who fight for their freedom, their realm, and the safety of those they love. Each is unique, and I loved getting to watch their relationships shift and unfold as the plot progressed.

I hope to see Winds of Destiny stretch into a series, and though this story doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, there are more than enough unanswered questions to explore in a sequel. For now, Winds is a satisfying standalone read, and an absolute must for fans of why choose, queer romance, and well-crafted romantic fantasy!

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5 stars)

🖤Spicy Romantasy
🖤Polycule Relationship
🖤Friends to Lovers
🖤Enemies to Lovers
🖤Secret Identity

I was enchanted by how easily it was to get lost into this action packed world of Gods, adventure, fighting, intrigue & so much more. It was such a fascinating journey watching the characters & their relationships evolve. The chemistry between the prince & his bodyguard was palpable & undeniable from the start. It was beautiful watching the love develop with the new husband. I love how accepting this world is of all types of love.

If you are looking for your next spicy romantasy that throws into the action & romance right from the start, I recommend Winds of Destiny, which is out now!

Well, this was an odd one, in that I liked the story but didn't really connect with the romance part. Huh.

First things first - fantastic cover and fantastic cover line ("Fall in love, or fall in line.") It definitely helped sell the book for me. Unfortunately, the book never made it clear (to this reader, anyway) which of the two brunettes on the cover was Cam and which was Turo - which sort of ties in with my feelings on why the romance didn't ignite for me (partners who were way too similar in many ways).

While I could buy a relationship between Cam and Turo, all the other dynamics didn't really work for me. Cam + Kai felt like a purely sexual thing (yawn). Kai + Turo felt like no connection whatsoever. While I don't really "do" polyamory romance, this author actually sold me on it in their previous books, The Triad Series. I think what might have made this throuple fall completely flat for me was that all 3 partners exuded the same sort of energy and intensity. In the Triad books, there was an extremely established couple and the author added a much less "alpha" type of partner to the mix and that made it work. In this book's partnering, all 3 individuals are so similar in many ways (size, build, smarts, self confidence, etc) that it was like they were in a romance with a brother (or brothers). Yes, Kai was an outsider, culturally different from Cam and Turo, and physically bigger (to fulfill the apparent prerequisite of many MM books, which is that somebody has to be really, really, really . . . large) but he wasn't different enough to make him feel like a third wheel (whereas in the Triad series, one partner definitely starts out with 3rd wheel status). In the Triad books, these differences really drove the emotional side of the romance and made the developing relationships feel interesting and vibrant. This book's trio lacked that spark of making such an unexpected and possibly dangerous (emotionally, at least) dynamic come to life in a believable way.

I would also mention that there is quite a lot of death at one point in this book, death that involves secondary characters that are fairly well meshed into the story - it felt pretty jolting that they had to die and to do so in the way they did. It was far too heavy for a story like this - in fact, by book's end we are still left wondering if one of the secondary characters actually made it out alive. Weird.

The book ends with a list of possible future plotlines, so I'm thinking this may be book 1 rather than just standalone. I would read other books in this world because I enjoyed the actual story so much. Maybe an additional book could beef up the emotional dynamic between our three MC's.

This book has all the ingredients for an epic Romantasy! Royalty, adventure, betrayal, kidnapping, magic, loyalty, tension, you name it, it’s there. Camrael is your MMC. The book starts out with the author showcasing the relationship dynamic between him and his bodyguard/spymaster in training/ best friend, Turo. It also delves into the action, setting the stage for the protagonist of the story and the ensuing action. I found it a little hard to follow in the beginning. There are lots of names of people and place dropping. I felt a bit lost. But after the first big action scene, things calmed down and leveled out.
After the first action scene, we find out more details of the plot and where the story is going. Camrael is betrothed to Prince Eleas and he must travel with Prince Eleas’ proxy,Kai, to his future kingdom. Without revealing too much, feelings enter the stage. The dynamic between Camrael, Turo and Kai develops and changes. I didn’t read the synopsis very carefully and didn’t take in the fact that this book is MMM. That relationship dynamic isn’t my cup of tea, but if you are into that, this book is definitely for you! The push and pull, intensity and feels are all well written and developed.
As a huge romantasy lover, my favorite part of the book was the magical elements. I loved seeing how Cam’s magic developed and the differing abilities of people from different areas.
The journey and climax were very well paced and laid out. I would have liked a little bit more backstory on their ultimate destination. It’s a big deal because this place was thought to be lost, but other than what happened to the Gods we don’t know much about it and why it is so important. I also was just waiting on more information on Turo. It alludes to him being more important than what is strictly written.
All of the major points in the action sequence are wrapped up nicely at the end, but there is plenty of room for this plot line to grow into a series. Especially the dangling carrot that is Turo! If you like a book heavy on relationship and romance development, with a big huge helping of fantasy dessert - this book is for you!!!

I did receive a digital ARC of this book. Thank you Entangled Publishing and Cari Z.

Wow, this book combines all of my favorite tropes- why choose being #1, of course!

I picked Winds of Destiny up and was immediately enthralled in the story. I mean, we have our charming prince, who falls for his spymaster. However, he is forced to marry a man he has never met, and (cue miscommunication trope...or maybe just a little white lie?!) he ends up falling for one of the warriors on their journey to meet his soon-to-be husband.

What was my favorite part though? That's easy (excluding the romance)- the imagery! I loved how I could basically imagine the rugged landscapes and feel the tall grasses or the soft fur of the little kitten that always seemed to pop up. So many books tend to either lack in conclusive building of the setting, or they go overboard and end up describing every minuscule detail until I'm completely distracted from the main plot line. But Cari here describes everything with just enough detail that I can form my surroundings in my little daydreams but I'm still able to stick to the plot.

Also- the plot twist?!? I needed to put my Kindle down and walk away so I could breathe for a couple minutes because my heart was *racing*; it was that crazy.

This is a must read for anyone who enjoys epic quests, the feeling that love conquers all, and (dare I say) handsome men with...uh..big swords😏😂

⚔️✨ Three swords. One destiny. Zero chill.

🔥 Winds of Destiny by Cari Z is everything I love about romantasy—epic worldbuilding, sharp-tongued banter, secrets wrapped in secrets, and a slow-simmering polycule romance that delivers.

When the gods fall silent and the everwinds die, magic fades—and a tyrant rises to claim what power is left. Enter:
👑 A silver-tongued prince with a sword and a secret.
🛡️ A hidden warrior with dangerous magic.
🕵️ A spymaster who knows way too much.

Their fate? Twisted together in lust, loyalty, and the looming threat of war. Will they fight the storm—or fall into it together?

This one’s for the romantasy lovers who crave tension, tenderness, and a touch of chaos. 🖤

✨ Tropes/Elements:

🗡️ Enemies to Allies to Lovers

🌪️ Found Family / Polycule Romance

🔥 MM/MMM Heat

⚔️ Warrior Prince + Spy + Hidden Magic

🌍 Epic Fantasy Vibes

🧡 Slow Burn with Payoff

It’s spicy, political, and heartfelt—and yes, they all have very big swords. 👀

I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did. The world is so rich, the characters are amazing, the romance doesn’t feel forced, and the plot is really interesting. I am definitely planning to purchase this book so I can reread it as many times as possible.

The world-building is beautiful. This author doesn’t lore dump at all throughout the book and, even though we don’t get all the lore in the beginning, I never felt lost while reading. The world is super interesting and I would definitely love to learn more about this world.

The characters are amazingly written. They feel real and flawed and their motivations make sense. Even the evil characters are written well. I just love these characters so much especially since we get points of view from all three main characters. Their romance was also just peak and beautiful. I was giggling and kicking my feet in the air.

The plot was interesting and didn’t feel rushed or slow. Honestly, I just loved this book so much.

Definitely recommend this book to fantasy lovers or someone looking for a queer book. Make sure to read the back and the content warnings before hand but please pick up this book!

A clever prince, the spymaster who is both his friend and bodyguard, and a fierce warrior with a secret, set off on a quest that quickly turns into more danger and intrigue than any of them could have imagined. At risk are their homelands and gods, but most importantly, their hearts.

I loved every twist and detail of this book so much that I'm afraid talking about it will give away anything, so I'm keeping this review as light on details as possible. Which I'm happy to say is something that Cari Z did not skimp on. The lush descriptions of locations, people, battles, and emotions are on full display to bring the characters and their world to life so that you're instantly connected and engaged in everything they're going through. Cam, Turo, and Kai are perfect together in any combination and even better all together, and reading about them slowly accepting that fact as they fight for their lives was thrilling.

Delighted thanks to NetGalley and Entangled: Amara for the sizzling read!

This book was a whirlWIND (get it? HA) and I had so much fun with it!

An MMM romantasy with arranged marriage AND bodyguard trope! The relationship development and growth is wonderful as the characters navigate their own personal responsibilities and feelings. I honestly found myself loving all three, Cam, Kai, and Turo equally throughout the story.

The pacing is insane, I feel like things were constantly happening - between action fight scenes or deeply emotional relationship-building scenes (both the sexual and nonsexual kinds), I feel like for most of this book I was just going going going. In the second half, however, the pacing takes a little turn and the sequence of events leaves a few more gaps but I still found the story very enjoyable.

The fantasy elements are fun - with regional gods and blessings, abilities that change the course of political powers. It's all very exciting and fairly easy to imagine/follow.

Thank you to Engangled Amara for the gifted access to this title. My review is completely voluntary, completely my own, and always completely honest.

As much as I enjoyed this book, and I did, the pacing was … not the best. While the plot itself — an evil prince determined to do evil things — was solid, it wasn’t given time to breathe and came across as super rushed. The focus of the story was on the romance between the two princes and the spymaster, and I think the romance was decent. Turo and Cam have known each other all their lives, but because of that the romance didn’t have any urgency. I think there was more tension and chemistry between Kai and Cam, and between Kai and Turo . Between Cam and Turo the relationship was so expected and so much a given that there was no surprise to any of it.

The writing was good, and I think the character work was good. I could easily tell all three characters apart, and they all had a distinct point of view. I’m not sure I’d recommend it as a fantasy story, but as a romance, sure. It’s nice to see a polyamorous relationship with all three characters given even attention. Thank you very much to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC.

Spicy MMM fantasy romance between two princes and a bodyguard.

I enjoyed the relationship development between the characters. Camrael and his bodyguard, Turo, already had great chemistry going into the story and it was nice to see their relationship developing throughout the book, with some help from Cam’s new husband. The three of them were so good together and the spice between all of them was spicing!

It was easy to get lost in this world, the worldbuilding was well written and there was a lot happening. The pacing was fast, but never rushed. The magic system was interesting and I would love to learn more about it.

“You don’t have to do anything but watch. Or, you could tell us what you want and we’ll do it.”
“You’re easy to please, aren’t you? Just a touch and you’re ready to burst.”
“You have the worst sense of timing. I’m trying to be seductive right now!”

ARC Review:

This book had me hooked! From the beginning it had me wanting to learn more about the characters and the world. It was really interesting to read about the world building throughout the book as well.

I was so invested in the relationships of all the guys from the start. You could feel the tension between Cam and Turo from the very first chapter. And seeing the way Cam and Kai interacted was just something else. You could immediately feel the spark between them.

I felt as if I was going through this journey with the characters and it takes a special writer to pull people in like that.

This book has the perfect amount of spice and plot, and it meshed together so well.

If you like:

Romance
Secret pasts

Enemies to lovers

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

So. I really only requested this book because I thought it would be a fun spicy read, as I do like those every so often. The description didn't seem great, I did not have high expectations at all. But I was hooked immediately! The characters were lovable and the relationship between the three MCs was sweet and spicy in equal measure. If you want that, you will not be disappointed for sure.

BUT THE WORLDBUILDING??? I was completely caught off guard by how fucking cool it all was with the animal gods that literally reside with their people, the queernormative societies and kingdoms, and the dispersion of powers throughout the people of the lands that are tied to the gods. I could read so much more set in this world if just to learn about more of the gods and societies.

Such a pleasant surprise of a book!

I liked this! This was entertaining and lighthearted, but had serious moments that really spoke to me. I appreciated how this broke barriers regarding gender norms and how "traditional fantasy" is written. I loved our wild band of characters, and really felt for our main cast during tumultuous and chaotic times.

I liked the world building and the bits of history and culture we would get as they travelled around. I loved learning about what made each of the kingdoms special, and I thought the entire plot of King Embros was really well done.

I thought it fell flat at times, however, and struggled to feel like our characters were well developed. They had quite a bit of naivety despite being very independently established. They felt like they were younger in age rather than how they were written.

Overall, good time, I recommend this if you want a lighter fantasy with some fun developments and some nice spice

What could go wrong with an arranged marriage to someone who won't meet until after the wedding?

I really enjoyed this story, however I felt it to be poorly executed. I struggled to imagine both the scenery and the characters. The current book cover does show characters, but only one vague characteristic is given for a character, and it's not shown on the cover. This story perhaps could have been a duo with so much more description given.

I found the types of gods in the story to be unique, and they each had their own story to tell. The stories of the cities were fascinating, from beginning to end. The story wraps up nicely, but if a sequel were written, I would likely read it. Especially if the story was told in more detail.

Thank you Entangled Publishing for the ARC opportunity. This review has been left voluntarily.

A childhood love, an arranged marriage, why choose, poly relationship, enemies to lovers, secret identity, adventure, spice and a great story line-this book has it all! When your father betroths you to the neighboring kingdom’s son, you do what is best for your kingdom and its future. A tale of adventure, love and betrayal. Not my typical ready thought it had a FMC but actually a love triangle between three male characters. Despite this I really did enjoy reading this book. It was fast paced, kept my interest. Completed in just a couple of days. Would recommend to those who love this type of book and those who may be wanting to try something new. Just the right amount of spice with a solid plot that keeps you engaged to the end. Thank you to Entangled and NetGalley for the ARC which. Opinions expressed here are completely my own.

To start, I think a lot of readers will enjoy this book. It has a lot of great elements, but I just felt like it needed more development.

For example, I wanted more world building and plot development. I felt a lot of this book is the romance between the three MMCs, which after awhile makes the story feel a bit one-dimensional.

To the romance part, a lot of readers will love the dynamics between Cam, Turo, and Kai. They're mixed up in a tangled web in their fight against the evil king, but their relationships apart and together are basically the story.

I'm a detail girlie, so if you're bogged down by details, I think this steamy romance could be something you love.

Thank you to Entangled for the eARC of this book!

Unfortunately, this book was not for me, I tried to keep pushing through it and it came to a point I had to DNF it, around 50%. I could not connect with the characters that much, being that it was a 3 POV book, when I only like reading one character, Kai, it made it hard to connect to the book and keep reading. Overall, I found that this book was more of a romance than a fantasy book, as it was very heavy on romance. As someone who also does not love heavily romance based books, it can also explain why I had to put it down as the romance started right away. I wish the book had more world building and fantasy.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A spicy romantasy featuring a spymaster and two princes.

Camrael is engaged to Prince Elian for a political alliance, but isn't happy about it because he's in love with Turo, a childhood friend and warrior who guards him. Kai arrives to Camrael's city to pick him up to bring back to Prince Elian for the marriage, and acts as a marriage proxy. On their journey, they encounter a villainous plot and Kai and Turo have to work together to get Camrael back.

Camrael and Kai were an insta-love situation, which is not my normal jam, but the build up for incorporating Turo was more realistic. The plot moves quickly and includes evil men, magical creatures, gods, and a missing city. Thanks to Entangled Publishing for the ARC. My opinions are my own.

Wow. I can’t stop thinking about this book because many scenes are living rent free in my head. If you are into the following tropes, then I highly recommend this book to you:

✅MMM spice (🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️)
✅Secrets
✅Betrayal
✅Friends to lovers
✅Enemies to lovers

The world building was great. I loved all the details, and it made the story more compelling. The characters were written well, too. If anything, I would love it more if the story was a little longer to flesh out the conflict and romance development more. I hope that there will be a sequel because I want to know what happens to the characters down the road. Great job to the author for this!

What a wonderful surprise. I knew Cari Z could write but her books are just as often good as they are great. (They don't always fit my tastes.) This one had everything I liked from her before in a very twisty turny fantasy poly roMMance with unique mythology and gore and cuddles and culture and magic...

To be fair, I felt very derailed when certain something happened and it was hard to read it and because of that part I might feel more like 3,5 stars rounded up but it was very obviously part of a larger plan and I really wouldn't mind a sequel. Not like need it, but I would definitely read it. Please?

Winds of Destiny by Cari Z is a breathtaking whirlwind of fantasy, passion, and peril! With vivid world-building, magnetic characters, and a delicious mix of intrigue and slow-burn romance, this story had me absolutely spellbound. The tension between loyalty, desire, and destiny crackles on every page. I was especially captivated by the layered relationships—each of the three leads is compelling, mysterious, and heartbreakingly real. Cari Z masterfully balances political stakes with raw emotion and steamy intensity. I devoured it in one sitting and didn’t want to leave this world. A mesmerizing must-read for fantasy romance lovers! 🌪️💫 #WindsofDestiny #NetGalley
