Given to the Savage

Rate this book
In the aftermath of a plague which brought civilization to its knees and left most of the world’s female population sterile, breeders—the few women who remain fertile—have become a precious commodity. Breeders live in relative comfort, but upon reaching adulthood they are tasked with bearing one child after another to carry on the species. Frequent medical assessments keep the breeders healthy and harsh punishments keep them in line.

As a breeder who has just come of age, Rowan knows she will soon be little more than a slave, but when she dares to resist her fate the penalty is severe. After a shameful, public chastisement and a thorough, humiliating examination to determine her suitability for child-bearing, Rowan is given to a savage from outside the community—a huge brute of a man named Silas—to be bred.

Against all expectations, Rowan finds herself drawn to her new captor. Brave, ruggedly handsome, and even kind at times, Silas is everything the men who enslaved her were not. When the time comes for him to breed her, despite the circumstances, something deep inside her begs for him to take her long and hard. But while she soon finds herself longing to be his forever, Rowan knows that eventually those who gave her to him will try to take her back. When that day comes will Silas fight to keep her at his side even if it means risking everything he loves?

Publisher’s Note: His to Breed is an erotic novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, extensive medical play, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Re-read 14/12/15!

★ ★ ★ ★ 4½ stars! ★ ★ ★ ★
“Any resistance will be met with some time in the corner with my handprint on your ass.”
Warning: This novel has (roughly in order) voyeuristic nude punishment, switch/crop punishment, rough and unexpected medical play, anal play, non-consensual forced pleasure, spankings, BDSM, rough/angry sex, some more anal play and overall humiliation and degradation.
If you do not enjoy these things, then this is definitely, definitely not for you! Personally, I am so damn glad I can actually read this type of stuff because it was one fine read!

This novel starts in a world that has been limited to reproduction through female breeders. Once breeders turn of age they then become a breeder. Breeders are identified by having green eyes and are meant to have children and then move on to the next man to procreate again. This is done for the purpose of being creating another breeder through that union.
“I think I’ll call you Hellcat. Your eyes are downright wicked when you’re defiant.”
description
Rowan, is a breeder and she just turned of age. She’s a fierce woman who even under dire situations stays strong. She’s a protector who will step in and suffer the consequences of those in harms way.

I loved the way Ms Knight wrote this character. Her emotions, thoughts and actions are realistic and many would be able to relate to her. She goes through so much and still stands tall. She can actually inspire many female readers. I admit at times when she helped others and took their punishments I admired her. No matter what she suffers through she always comes out stronger.
“You came out of hell and stole my heart.”

Silas is the leader of his own tribe that separates itself from others in the world. They don’t believe in their traditions. Silas is the defined embodiment of a true alpha male. He is cruel, possessive, believes in punishment and has a soft loving side that does come out of hiding a few times.

At times he's very brutal in his punishments and the scenes of rough sex but personally I loved this dominant side of his. In the novels universe, it's the perfect match.

My thoughts:
The novel definitely lives up to its warning label so beware.
At first I was feeing a tad bit awkward when it came to the anal/medical play but as you get into the novel and its features you understand why those things come into play.

Silas and Rowan’s relationship is slowly built which I love! The sex is at times harsh and loving but it comes with the warning label mentioned. Their chemistry, yes is instantaneous, but still gradually builds itself. This is the best feature I loved by the author. The feelings and emotions are so real you feel like you're actually inside the novel surveying the scene.

I love the way Ms Natasha Knight writes. The sentences made sense and the descriptions made you take in the full effect. I also loved the epilogue! It made me swoon.

An amazing read with a different outlook on the ‘dark’ genre. Throw in some unexpected twists and a possessive alpha and you definitely don’t want to miss out!

Reading this is a must!

***I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the publisher, through Netgalley.com, in exchange for honest feedback.***

Taking place in a futuristic world, after a plague has rendered most of humankind sterile, this book is full of doom and gloom. Rowan, our heroine and one of the few remaining fertile women, has spent her entire life separated from everyone else except the other fertile females. They are the "breeders" and are forced to produce as many babies as possible before their bodies give out and they are cast aside.

When it is discovered that some of the men in the surrounding settlements are much more fertile than the men in the colonies, a deal is brokered. Rowan is sent to the settlement with Silas, to be returned only after she's provided two babies that share her breeder gene. Part punishment, part experiment, Rowan has no idea of what to expect from the enormous brute that she's been given to.

Despite the cruel and brutal existence that was Rowan's reality, there were moments of tenderness that made this story bearable. It ends up that Silas has his own reasons for going along with the colony's plans. He doesn't like the way Rowan is treated, but can't afford to get involved or show his concern.

Overall, it was okay as far as smutty little stories go. It was short and predictable. Definitely not something I'd re-read, or anything that would blow my mind, but it was okay. I would suggest that the author change up the verbiage some. "Bottom hole" was referenced so frequently that I thought that part of her anatomy won best supporting role. The number of spankings/lashings also got tedious. It would have been nice to see it changed up a little.

This is between 3* and 3.5*, there unfortunately were a few problems too grave to give it four stars, but I have to say I definitely liked this one!

I liked the heroine a lot. She had pluck, and guts, even though she was in a rather bad situation without much agency or choices. For once a heroine who behaved logically, pondered realistic chances and didn't gallivate off to run herself head on into a wall just so she could be shown "strong".

I also liked the hero, who despite initially being handed the not so fortunate role of "beastly barbarian" ended up being quite humane--comparatively. Comparatively because a) the villains were real villains who tortured women and killed children, and because b) this here society is one of unmitigated patriarchy with men having the say over every part of women's lives and activities. In short: women are the chattel of the men.

I'll not be going far into the plot, because this is a short story and spoilers would kill the relatively simple action storyline. Instead let me state that this was a feast for people with a medical kink, there also was breeding, whipping, spanking, anal play and lots of rather hot forced sex. Except for once towards the end the author didn't trip up and mix real life BDSM with this fantasy/scifi world which incorporated heavy kink per its very structure. If anything I might have wanted a bit more, and harsher, but that's me ;P

So, big kudos for not mentioning BDSM at all, while serving a hot dish of heavy kink.

My problems with this were related to exposition.

However, all put together I very much enjoyed this story! More please.

I really enjoyed this kinky, dystopian romance!

Rowan was an awesome heroine. Despite her shitty life she was quietly strong and really quite sweet. She was just such a likeable character, I couldn't help but root for her.

Silas - I just adored him. He was all sexy alpha male and had that super protective thing that I love. For a so called savage, he was very loving, once he stopped being so stubborn and admitted to his feelings for Rowan.

The romance was sweet and the kink was hot, definitely one I'll recommend.

***** 4.5 Abusive Stars *****

Warning: Not for the faint of heart. Contains sexual abuse, anal play, and intense punishments.

description

"She wanted the pain he gave, the pleasure it promised. She wanted him."

The environment has turned poisonous, and humans lose the ability to reproduce. Only certain women carry a gene that allows them to have children. These women were known as breeders and were monitored closely. Outsiders thought they had magical powers, but behind the walls, they were actually abused and mistreated. The life expectancy for these women was also short because they were continuously bred.

When Rowan became old enough to have children, she was taken into Silas's custody. She was scared because she's never left the colony, but she slowly trusts Silas. Silas has a large chip on his shoulder. He doesn't want Rowan to get close to his heart because he needs to eventually return her to the colony.

Silas isn't your typical hero. Whenever he feels like Rowan is getting too close, he punishes her to make her remember her place. There were moments where I had to take a breath after reading some of the abusive scenes. Again, this story isn't for everyone. Natasha Knight did it again by created a dark masterpiece.

Mixed feelings on this one.

This is the first book I think I've read by this author and with long awaited Deviant due out I thought I'd try this.
Since the blurb is good and it's a relatively short book anyway at 174 pages I'll skip my usual summary and just give my opinion, which is mixed.
I liked the idea of this story more than the actual story itself, the characters were good, both find themselves in unenviable positions not of their own making and that's the main reason I continued on because I liked the characters and wanted to see how things ended for them.
It was the beginning I really struggled with, the medical scenes to be precise made very uncomfortable and difficult reading and seemed to go on for ever and while I enjoyed the rest of the book it never, for me anyway recovered from the beginning leaving 3 stars as the only fair rating.

Ok so this was a whole new departure for me. One, it's by a new to me author and two it's nothing like the dungeon type books that frequently pop up featuring punishment of a sexual nature. Not for those easily offended and so far out of my comfort zone with non consensual medical procedures and forced pleasure and yet I have to admit I was totally gripped and read this book in one sitting!
The story is set on a futuristic Earth after an asteroid strike that changed the world forever. Whilst trying to clean up the water supply scientists discovered that not only has civilisation as they know it been swept away but the ability to conceive is only found in a rare few women. These women are strangely altered and considered to be terrifying freaks but their lives are now of vital importance to the future of mankind. These Breeders as they are known are closeted away within the Colonies seemingly living good happy lives but the truth is far more sinister as they are treated worse than cattle and their pitifully short lives are violent ones.
Rowan is a Breeder and our journey begins when she is wrongfully accused of murder. Her punishment is truly vile and here's where I couldn't believe quite what I was reading. Definitely not erotic but scenes of cruelty and degradation. The outcome though is a twisted plot to give Rowan on loan to one of the more fertile barbarians living in a settlement outside the main Colony. Silas despises the way the corrupt Colony runs but as leader of his village needs the medicines and technology that they can provide. Silas is determined to provide the two children he has agreed to sire but has no intention of getting close to the green eyed female who constantly challenges him. No Rowan needs to learn her place but Rowan is anything but ordinary. She is bright, plucky and determined that now she's outside she is never going back to the cruel life she left behind.
What can I say? The physical abuse is aborrant to me I admit and totally unlike any other erotic book that I have read and yet I could not put this book down. Yes there are times when I thought "oh no please don't do that " but the two central characters captivated me. Rowan is a fabulous heroine made to feel less than human and yet she rises above all that . Silas is not as savage as he wants Rowan to believe. Yes in his society punishment is of the physical nature and females seem to be at the mercy of men but even as the story begins we get his point of view and he is clearly far more compassionate than he thinks he is.
This is futuristic so I suppose I can refer to it as sci fi but although there is different technology in play it's not gobbledygook or too much in the readers face. Yes it's a stark world the author takes us to with very dark undertones and there's scenes of a sexual nature that will appal many readers but it's a story of hope, triumph over adversity and ultimately love. Hard to read at times but I'm so glad I persevered

Mea culpa! I read this book as soon as it was provided to me and then I proceeded to forget to post a review. Kinky readers, if you are looking for erotic medical play and good spankings, this book is for you. This is a non-con story which morphs into a dub-con because of the characters. The world is post-apocalyptic due to a terrible plague. People are trying to survive. In order to bring civilization back, men in their "wisdom" are hoarding and breeding fertile females. Breeding theme!

The concepts and the setup of this story are all up my alley. The dark vibe with females treated as nothing but a living human incubator is depraved and alluring. There are a few very deviant ways an author could go with this set up. Ms. Knight takes the middle road with a bit of a romance even with the captivity and slavery. Rowan is female looking forward to nothing but degradations and beatings. She is only good for one thing, getting knocked up and producing healthy babies. She is at a point where it would be better to be dead, when a new captor takes her. Silas is different than others and Rowan is conflicted. She is guilty aroused by his rough sex and wants it even more. Things which should turn her off only turn her own.

The sex in here is more my speed. The graphic humiliations with medical exams and the erotic discipline are delightful. Ms. Knight does a good job with weaving in all sorts of sexual debauchery. The BDSM in this story is more fantasy than the contemporary SSC. Obviously, this is to titillate the kinky reader and Ms. Knight succeeds. A fan of Ms. Knight's erotica, this is another one I am glad I had the chance to read. I can see the growth in her writing from her earlier works to this one. The characters are better developed and the sexual scenes are hawter. Some kinky authors prefer to go with contemporary realism. I am glad Ms. Knight is exploring and exposing readers to the darker fantasies. Well done! Recommended for kinky erotic readers who enjoy breeding themes and dub-con.

AMAZING...unbelievably good. I just ate it all up.

Rowan is a "breeder" and will be forced to produce as many children as possible. Most of the population has become sterile so it's critical to propagate the human population.

In comes Silas, who agrees to take Rowan to his settlement and produce at least 2 more breeder children.

So well written and so compact. Loved all the kinky medical stuff, the arousing punishments and anal play. I just didn't want it to end.

2 1/2 stars, I have a ton of mixed feelings about this book. The story is very different and very interesting, I have read stories with similar aspects as this story but this one really sticks out. The heroine Rowan is awesome, after everything she endures she is still so so strong and she's a good person. And then we have the evil people and this list of evil characters in this book is too long to list. They are horrible the definition of horrible and there is little really not one small thing that is good about them.

And then we have the " hero" Silas who for almost all of the book I hated, and I mean hated. Now I love a book with a hero who starts as a jerk and then ends up being a fantastic hero. I'm not sure that fits with Silas, for much of the book he is no better than the villains. We see a change in Silas but I'm not sure I really completely believe it. When he finally starts to turn it around I felt like a lot was him just saying things instead of actually meaning them. But strangely enough at the very end I do believe his love for Rowan and I'm kind of confused about it all and a lot confused about Silas.

Rowan is a breeder, and for her punishment for a crime she did not commit Rowan is given to a huge outsider. Silas has no choice but to go along with the plan and that is take Rowan the breeder and produce two breeder children that will be taken with their mother and returned to the breeders home. Silas feels bad for the breeder but it is a sacrifice he is willing to make.

What Silas never planned on was seeing the true person Rowan is and feeling this connection with her. Rowan knows the life she will always lead but when she finds a way that may stop her torment she takes it. The more Silas spends with Rowan the more he begins to feel for her and the harder it becomes to push her away, and then that choice may be take away from him in more ways than one, and the true reason behind all this may be lost to Silas forever.

This book is not for the faint of heart there is some really bad and sad things that happen in this book and it just makes you have even more respect for Rowan. I mean Rowan and all of the "breeder" have it so horrible it can't even be explained how bad they have it, they don't live they exist. The "breeders" aren't even considered human and we see the worst and evil a society can turn into in this book.

I didn't hate all of this book but it could have been so much more. What I didn't like I didn't like but this author really pulls strong emotions for me in this book and for that alone I was impressed. I also found myself wanting to see how it all ended and then I was glad that I did read it all. This isn't my typical book and I wanted to read it because it was so different and it really is. What I liked about this book I really really liked and I found myself rooting for Rowan and waiting to see how it could possible turn out in any way good for her. Now after finishing this book I'm not sure how I feel about this book the good was really good and the bad was BAD and horrible and gut wrenching. In the end this is a very different and interesting story of perseverance and finding peace and love after your whole life believing you won't have anything but pain and loss.

Not even worth a star even though that star means that I don't like it, it's still going to add to the average rating of the book. And, for me, the book is just not worth rating.

I decided to read it after it popped in a random recommendation on Amazon. I should not have. The author gives a warning before she begins her story:

"This book is intended for adults only. Spanking and other sexual activities represented in this book are fantasies only, intended for adults."

And I thought to myself, light spanking? I don't mind that. Here's the thing, I'm not into the whole BDSM, but I can take some spanking, lengthy foreplay, different positions and locations, rough and hard, hard and fast, slow and teasing. If BDSM is like what this book has shown me, then I want no part of it. But, I doubt it is. The warning given here on Goodreads says:

"Publisher’s Note: His to Breed is an erotic novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, extensive medical play, anal play, elements of BDSM, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book."

Okay, sounds like a lot kink. But, it was way more than that. Honestly, plain and simple, the warning should have read:

"Note: Women will be humiliated in this book."

Throughout the story, the heroine, Rowan, is physically, emotionally and mentally humiliated. I would call these things abuse if I knew they were happening in real life and so would many others; so why then are such things enjoyed by many women? The women in the book are little more than submissive creatures who must bow down to the demands of the man, regardless of whether or not they want to; failure to do so results in punishment. I don't know 'bout you but this book reeked of patriarchy. I cannot even tell you how many times Rowan bowed her head, lowered her eyes and muttered I'm sorry.

After the first chapters where "extensive medical play" was used on Rowan who's humiliated that this is happening to her, I thought: maybe the author just wants to give us a difficult beginning so that the character's freedom and finding of love will be that much sweeter. Boy, was I wrong. Rowan was subjected to the same things by the male character, Silas. Although she feels humiliated after every sexual incident that she is subjected to, Rowan orgasms. The author ensures to play this up, but I say to Ms. King, if one's body is stimulated properly, one will orgasm which does not necessarily mean that their hearts and minds enjoy it.

Ms. Knight, although this is fantasy, I cannot, for the life of me, understand why you would put a woman through this manner of degradation. The world is already full of sick men who do sick things to women. We do not need to fuel them via "a woman writer's fantasy".

On an aside, the language used by the author is neither constricted nor too ostentatious; and contains few grammatical typos.

This is not my cuppa tea. If it's yours, then that's your prerogative, but I urge you to think of what you read and imagine yourself a prisoner to the whims of men and society.

I loved this story, just not so much the very soppy, corny ending, but at the same time it was nice.
This story follows Earth after a devastating meteor strike, that has repeated the earths resources including there ability to reproduce. To this end they identify females who still have the ability to as they refer to breed. Rowan is such a woman. They are kept captive, and their only function in life is to reproduce. They have no say in this, and are forced to bear as many children until their bodies give up, generally at an early age. Rowan is an independent thinker and wants more.
The book starts with her being severely punished, and later it is revealed what for and that the crime was not of her doing, but as a result of her fighting against what has gone before...the accepted.

She is thrown out of her sheltered life and given to an I known race, a savage called silas, with the intention of breeding. It transpires that her people have realised that there were in fact male breeders also, but not within their own communities, so manipulated people to creat a new breed of humans, to possibly creat a super breed.

There appears to be different communities within this "new" world who fight the dominant race, and after this fight which appears short lived, all is well with the world at the end.

This us a standalone story and is very well written. I really took to the whole story. I felt Rowan's, pain, frustration and humiliation. I even felt her strength and compassion to change her world. I was just disappointed and how fast the story concluded it the fight and the ultimate HEA. It was like the author had run out of steam or ideas and just wanted the story over with. Either that, or she's didn't want to focus on just a fight/ civil unrest. I'm a hard dark reader, and just needed that little bit more in the end.

But I did love this story, and since I was given the book as part of the r2r BDSM group, I would like to say that I really appreciated this opportunity to read such a good book.

i did it ... I branched out and read a post apocalyptic book... I hate that crap... maybe?

so lets back story of why I picked this up.. my boyfriend has been playing fallout 4 (like im sure 1/2 the world is) and I thought it was cool so I decided to read a book to understand the world better (because I am a book nerd) and this one appealed to me for stating kink and end of the world so lets do this review!

soft 4 stars

this book has parts that scream 5!!!!!! however it is not compiled in a way that keeps the 5 at the end. I like that there was a "new" species however there are parts that make no sense...but I digress

the book is short enough that spoilers will ruin it..but the book could have been longer... the HUGE plot twists in the book could have been pushed out, described more, taken up more than a paragraph.

the insta love... not too bad actually.. I think it was about 6 months so I like that and it is a different world where only few people can carry children sooo I also like that

I think I would prefer the title to be Breeder or maybe even Hellcat :P

all in all not a horrible welcome to end of the world books

So bad!

This could have been a good story, but man did the author mess it up. There was no chemistry between the two and he was just as cruel to her as the people at the colony, so why didn't she fall in love with the guards that beat her? It was just ridiculous when it could have been a cool dystopian novel with a little romance thrown in.

Rowan is a breeder, one of only 10 percent of the population who is able to reproduce. She is given against her will to Silas, a rough man who lives in a settlement outside the colony, to produce a child that is also a breeder. Silas is being coerced as well—his settlement and his son’s life are at risk if he doesn’t comply. This is a stark, edgy novel in which love survives despite the odds, yet the cruelty makes it difficult to bear. Rowan endures forced, humiliating medical exams, beatings, and is, in effect, raped by Silas. That she gets aroused by the humiliation and rape—and that Silas secretly cares for her—only makes her circumstance seem more horrifying rather than less. This is a novel of dark sexual fantasy, rather than of realism, and it won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. However, it is a well-written compelling story that keeps the reader turning the pages.

Soooooo.... DNF 29%
I kind of knew by the blurb, that this book was going to push my limits on what I enjoy in my romance reads.

After Rowan's (the h) public whipping, humiliation, examination, anal "not-quite-sure why" plugging, and forced orgasming to test breeding suitability (ehhh...wtf?), I felt a little bit ill.

But, what really, really annoyed me, and in the end made me put the book down was our "hero" Silas. Ugh!
Not only was he watching Rowan being unfairly punished and humiliated, he found it arousing. FFS's - he could see her crying!!!!
But even worse, when Rowan comes under Silas care she opens up to him and shows him how amazingly brave and strong she is, but Silas still chose to continue treating her like a possession and finds it arousing to humiliate her

Good Lord! Everyone seemed infatuated with Rowan's bum hole. OUCH!!! I mean through the whole short story somebody was probing, sliding, filling, pressing, plugging, or banging enemas, tubes, fingers, thermometers, creams, plugs, and last but not least, a tongue and a large cock into her bum hole. I swear after all of that this poor heroine should have hemmroids, I know I would.

The beginning of this book with the Doctor's and commanders will piss you off, but afterwards it gets pretty good. Still there were a few things about this book that didn't do it for me. I'm not sure if it was all the torture getting the breeder wet when she should have been to scared or in pain to even think about getting off. I honestly can't put my finger on it, but I still liked it. Maybe all the butt action turned me off. I mean this girl had to have diarrhea from all that flushing, right? I was trying to eat my roast, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, etc. when I first lost my appetite reading this.

Anyway, Silas was the bomb Hero. He pulled some crap a few times that made me want the heroine to take a nut shot, but he was very likable, big, handsome, and strong. I loved the thing with breeder eyes, but it would have been nice to get some history of why, how, or where these types of beings came from. Tobias was sweet, I wish we could have seen more of him.

I thought the spankings and strap pings Silas gave Rowan was HOTT, and the angry sex afterwards was like, Bam! I teared up though on that first strapping.

Overall this was a pretty good read.

Read in June, 2015
review Every once in a while, out of the clear blue sky, a comet of a book comes crashing down on my peaceful nights, much like in the premise of this story. And just like the land, it leaves me scorched, raw, in utter shock and disbelief, not willing to accept the inevitable end that is near.
Much like I just could not accept this book was over so quickly.

It is so rare to find a story with the elements of BDSM that most appeal to me. And this little gem plays into ALL of them. Control. Dominance. Fear. Anal. Enemas. Spanking. Paddling. Punishments. Add to that the dystopian twist that always gets me in a "fuck or fly" mode, and you have a very happy Saha with a little puddle between her thighs.

I know I will read this book again. I just know it. It has the perfect balance of everything. From love to lust to pain and abuse, to friendships and drama and the instinctual need to survive. Incredible. Gripped me from the first scene (really, how can anyone NOT get hooked by a public switching?) and rode me 'till the end.
And now there is only one word on my lips.

Spoiler Ahead This was a really good book reading sci-fi is not something that I do a lot. Rowan is a breeder. A woman who is fertile and able to produce children when a plague left most of the women sterile. Rowan is a more defiant breeder not willing to take crap from others. When she is given to Silas and he has to watch her get prepared to leave with him. Silas is a caregiver he likes taking care of Rowan and she does everything she can to not get pregnant. I loved both of these characters both had their own issues with this arrangement. I loved the sex scenes in this book also. I have read this author before. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. If you like reading sci-fi with kink than I recommend that you read this book.

I didn't find this book all that thrilling. The story line was good, maybe it was just the way the book was written that I didn't enjoy.

Wasn't all that steamy either... damn it ! lol

The book was in first person view, but swopped characters throughout the book.

An asteroid crashed on earth, it wiped out most of the Eastern half of North America, but that wasn’t the worst of it. Most of the marine life across the world was killed and the water supply was infected with what scientists were calling a plague. Eventually scientists found a way to cleanse the water and wipe out the bacteria but a side effect of the serum was sterilization to women. One breed of women somehow overcame this and they were known as breeders they were kept in captivity until they were old enough to be impregnated. The breeders know they must bear children to carry on the species and they are considered precious commodities. They live in relative comfort until they turn twenty four and if they misbehave they are punished. Captain Amro was the sick, sadistic fucker who punished the breeders and raped them whenever he felt like it. Rowan is a breeder, her wrists and and ankles are in chains as Captain Amro drags her outside. She’s placed on a platform, stripped naked, and bent over for the crowd to see as the Captain reads her offenses. She’s accused of inciting a rebellion, the death of another breeder, and the subsequent loss of a child as a result of her actions. She would never harm another breeder, the only thing she was guilty of was resisting Captain Amro when he tried to rape her. He uses several different switches to spank her bare ass and just when she thought she’d die Commander Norrin, the ruler of all the colonies orders the Captain to stop. The Commander has other plans for her, he’s lending her to Silas, the leader of one of the settlements outside the colonies. Those who lived outside the colonies were considered violent, barbaric beasts with little to no intelligence. Silas wanted nothing to do with the colonies but the Commander was threatening to exterminate Silas’ whole village. The Commander was forcing Silas to take the breeder (Rowan) back to his settlement and produce two children then return the children and breeder afterwards.

GIVEN TO THE SAVAGE is the story of a twenty four year old girl named, Rowan, who has become a Breeder. Due to a plague that made certain amount of women in the world sterile and the few that are not sterile have become a very valuable asset. Rowan has to breed children that are breeders as well.

She knows that her life will only be within the Colony she lives in and no other type of outside human contact. Until one day, a member from another colony, a man named Silas, comes to her colony and Rowan is traded off to this brute of a man that has caught her attention even during an awful medical examination to see if she is able to conceive.

Silas is to take her with him to his colony and give her back once she has conceived two children with him, then she is to return to her colony with the two children. Silas does not have time on his hands to be doing this, but he doesn’t have a choice. Over time, what he believed to be just a mission with no feelings involved has turned into something a lot more and very personal to him This book is an erotica novel with BDSM elements to it. It might not be for everyone, but the story was very good, it showed how Rowan knowing that her fate was one of a breeder and might not have a life outside the colony she lived in.

She was willing to fight for her rights as well as the rights of others, even if it would mean a severe punishment or even death. I liked how Rowan was hopeful in finding love with the man she was given to even though he never gave her a promise that she would be freed and that he would be able to love her.

I really enjoyed Silas, a big brute of a man with his own demons that he is struggling with and wanting to do what is right for his colony and for his son he never knew. He showed how far he was willing to go by negotiating with the leader of Rowan’s colony. I felt the struggle he went through between wanting to do what is right for Rowan but also his people and his desire to not get too attached with Rowan when he knew that he would have to hand her over to her leader. It was a very good story; I would definitely recommend this book!

Well I'm not really sure how this book got so many high ratings, it's full of rape, sexual abuse and mental abuse. A lot of other reviews say that Silas the H changes by the end of the book. He doesn't. Period. He beats the heroine, rapes the heroine, and basically treats her like she is garbage. He doesn't spank/beat her because it makes her hot, he does it because it makes him hot and he has ZERO compassion at all. The whole she is a "breeder" excuse doesn't work for him because he was married to one before, so he knows she is as human as him; and that makes him twice the asshole.

This book had a good start, but the Hero never redeems himself - EVER! The last sex scene in the book he rapes the heroine anally because she is going to turn herself in to save him, his son, and the village. Wow! You were going to save me? I think I'll thank you with some dry, painful anal rape. He justifies this by saying her doing that would have not worked. So instead they do his plan, which didn't work either and the heroine had to save him. I think that means she should have got to put the strap-on on and rape his ass. That would have been fair and maybe given him some perspective.

Seriously, the author could have developed the Hero's character and allowed him to change or evolve, but she didn't. And in an attempt to have a happy ending the stupid heroine agrees to marry him when he has never been anything but abusive; how does that make sense? It doesn't.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

I've read a lot of Natasha Knight's books and usually find them very enjoyable. Normally, I don't go for the "breeder" niche erotica, but since it was Natasha Knight, I thought I'd give Given to the Savage a try, and I'm glad I did!

I'm busy and getting jaded in my 'old' age so unless a book hooks me right away, I am not reading it. I don't have the time. Given to the Savage hooked me right away. Even better, Natasha carries the story all the way through to a satisfying and believable ending. This more than a Breeder-kink book. There is an actual love story with very well-developed characters, as well as a lot of depth and emotion. Natasha does just enough world-building to give you an idea of the setting, but not so much that I was bored.

Rowan is fierce but sweet. She is not a weak heroine. She is not a too stupid to live heroine either.

Even though Silas is supposed to be the "savage" you get inklings from the beginning that he is more than that. I adored Silas!

Fantastic story! I really think this is Natasha's best book yet and wouldn't mind reading more stories set in this world.

I will give this story 3.25 ~ 3.5 stars

This story was set in an era in the future where an asteroid upon contact with the Earth left the human with the inability to procreate only a specific kind of women with a gene could carry baby but their status were reduced to "breeder" and given the fact to people they cannot carry any emotion but only carry children upon their age to reproduce til they death.

Those women were well maintained but that what people thought of them but their lives were surrounded wall and carrying children til they were taken from them.

So where the story got interesting was, Rowan, a breeder. Rowan was being given a public punishment til she was given to a savage, Silas.
Savage? Yes, that what how they called people who didn't live inside the wall of the colony but choose to live by themselves, hard life because they have to seek a way to eat, to plant but still they need water and electricity support from the colony.

Then the meeting from savage and breeder came into purpose. With spanking, healing, child, heroism, selfless and also a new beginning.

I loved this book and I am really hoping she makes this book the beginning to a series because this world is fascinating. This is a post-apocalyptic novel so you know right away it is going to be dark. Once you settle yourself into that mindset you can start to see the genius of this world.

Yes, it is very dark and a horrible place for everyone especially women but it is the story of the main character Rowan that is so inspiring. So people would describe Rowan as spineless or weak and I merely viewed her as resigned. She was dealt a very difficult hand of cards and survived it in the best way she could. She has her moments of defiance and she does grow as the story progresses.

There is love and a happy ending in this story it is just not a normal one, but it is not a normal world so I think it fits. I was satisfied with the ending and very intrigued. How Ms. Night solves the fertility problem delves into one of my favorite genres and I would love to read another book in this series where that plot line is high-lighted.

Wow! I think I have read every single one of Natasha’s stories and I think this one is one of my favorites. I read this book in a little under six hours straight. It was that addicting! I was hooked from the first page. Rowan is someone we can all relate with but what she goes through is something spectacular. It’s a whole new world that Natasha created perfectly.

The chemistry between Rowan and Silas is explosive. They both had their own reasons for everything happening and in the end well… I won’t spoil it for you but there are quite a few more explosions in the story as the breeder and the savage get to know each other further.

I loved this story and would LOVE to see more of Rowan and Silas. Natasha sets fire to the pages of the story as it heats up with intense spankings and sexy scenes. Fantastic story! Highly recommend for those who love action and sexy savages who want to spank you.

Blah...blah..barf.

I don't understand the constant whippings and I don't understand how such a strong man could fall in love with a woman who supposedly fought off a general who tried to rape her and submissively goes with a stranger and let's him have sex with her. What's the saying if it don't fit i must acquit. I don't relate and the story sounded so good. Sad really because I wasted part of my life on this. Writer's need to realize that if the story makes sense and is realistic then it would have better reviews. I mean damn.... stick to a woman who is passive and owned or a woman who is strong and wants to be owned. That is the difference.
