The e-novella "A Chihuahua in Every Stocking" by Waverly Curtis makes it's print appearance in the back of book #5 in the "Barking Detective Mystery", "The Silence of the Chihuahuas". In this quick tale, Pepe sees on TV that a little girl who just lost her mother has also lost her pet chihuahua, Chiquita, to a kidnapper. He convinces Geri to go to Leavenworth to meet w/ the girl & her father to see if they can help return the dog to it's owner. What entails is a quick mystery involving drugs & deceit which also introduces some rather unsavory characters in this very quick story which packs everything from death to intrigue into 38 short pages. Overall a nice Christmas entry in this enjoyable series.
When Pepe the Chihuahua hears about a child’s missing dog, he springs into action, dragging his human Geri away from Christmas plans with her boyfriend, Felix. Geri’s not happy about uncovering not one, but two bodies in the Oregon snow, but there’s a lesson about love and Santa for her in this short story. A charming tale with as much Christmas spirit as a Chihuahua can deliver!
A typical feel-good Christmas story from Geri and Pepe as they go in search of a lost Chihuahua on Christmas eve.
Of course the barking detective quickly finds the culprit (as well as two bodies - it's still a mystery) and all ends well with Chiquita being reunited with her family.
Overall, takes a short time to read and the bossy little dog is adorable.

I love this series. Pepe is awesome and Jeri isn't bad herself. This is a very nice, quick holiday story that reads fast and will satisfy fans of the series. If you haven't read the series, this is a good book to give it a spin. It sits well as a stand-alone.
This story reads faster than expected. There is fluff at the end of the book after the story with author bios and book covers from the other books in the series. (I have read them all!)
If you are looking for a true pet-involved storyline (not the kind that shows a cutie on the cover, but that's the last you see of the cat/dog/other pet,) I strongly recommend reading this series. All the books in this series are fast reads and always leaves me with a smile on my face. EWach one is very uplifting and cute.
In this short Christmas novella, Geri Sullivan and Pepe search for a kidnapped chihuahua belonging to a little girl named Sophie. While Pepe's intent on sniffing out the sweet Chiquita, his nose leads him to a murder victim. Could there somehow be a connection between the stiff and Chiquita? Due to the short length of this story, I noted a couple of inconsistencies; however, as a fun, light read, it's definitely entertaining and the ending is magical and sweet.
After a couple of pretty gloomy/serious books, I said I wanted to read fluff! And it doesn't get more fluffy than a Christmas story about a talking chihuahua :D.
I had a great time reading this, I took to Pepe immediately and I now intend to read the whole series because I need more of this fluffiness in my life!
Christmas mystery featuring a taking chihuahua and his owner. Brief and a bit too pat for my taste. Two murders in less than 90 minutes with the contrasting events surrounding the visit of a real Santa. Won't become a Christmas classic for me.
My favorite series since I rescued my Chihuahua Bitty. Wonderful characters, great plots and if dogs could voice their opinions they would sound just like Pepe.
Disappointed this was such a short story but did enjoy every minute of reading. Love the characters and especially Pepe'. Looking forward to more reading in this series.
