Ella: As I struggle to stay afloat in the housekeeping hustle, a handsome guest and I have a magical night sneaking into the pool, making wishes under the stars, and spilling secrets. But at midnight, I risk turning into a pumpkin, er, my not-so-fancy self, compared to the pro hockey player with the expensive watch. Time is slipping through my fingers as the bill for my dad's care comes due.
Jack: I'm a hockey superstar, famous for scoring goals and stealing hearts, but I'm at a career crossroads. After a fun and flirty weekend, sparks fly, but there's trouble off the ice because she's not the trophy my billionaire father has in mind for me.
Ella: When he suggests we level up our fake relationship to a fake engagement, I don't have anything to lose except my sense of reality as I'm swept into his wealthy world—and my grip on my emotions because this is starting to feel real.
Jack: Before we met, my life was mapped out, but she changed the game. Some argue it's for the worst. But I've never felt—or played—better. Before, retirement from the league loomed. Now I have a new goal and it's a future with her.

Not my style and I wish I wouldn't have finished this book. The synopsis says swoony kisses but they weren't because there was no description behind them. Also there was very little dialog between the main characters. The author could have cut at least 100 pages and still gotten to the same place.
Oh hail the “Puck Princess” All this from nothingness, no really it is. It’s all very sweet how they first meet and dare I say they fell in love then…sort of…She’s an hotel maid , he’s a hockey player . He has bad press as a bit of a player so he’s on the look out for a fake date to wear His Jersey . ..Goldilocks she ain’t but her situation is quaint and a little bit hysterical too. Ella has met Jack before but she was known as Jasmin to him then. The wonderful night they spent together a year before , now though :-“Not a morning person, huh? It’s not like I barged into your hotel room,” “Not a you person. Maybe the night in the Jeep, eating cheeseburgers, and then sneaking a swim—not to mention our long conversation—didn’t mean anything to you.” I don’t think he’s cottoned on Ella who you are “This isn’t fair. You’re not allowed to look this handsome, dare I say, alluring with a bit of woo in your swagger—while I’m so hideous in my second-hand pajamas and muddy Big Bird-in-a-windstorm hair.” “Oh, um, that’s just me talking in my sleep.” “Oops. Didn’t mean to try to take you out.” “What a good boy! The dog. Not you.” She snarled back at him. “You’re a first-class jerk.” “ Are there other classes?” Bark Waulburger ,yep that’s the dog’s name is loving this game . Well to say they’ve had a sublime night in each other’s arms before and he’s not getting who she is now. This pow wow is going south anyhow…Then he cottons on who she is. “So later? Goldilocks, meet me for dinner.” “I can’t.” “Are you in trouble? Hiding from someone?” She blurts, “Yes. No. Kind of.” Well this a turn up for the books , he feels she’s deserving of second looks and his idea has her in his hooks once more. They make a deal and moving to Cobbiton just sealed their fate and this is everything but FAKE ,it can’t be the way he looks at her and she looks at him . They’re for keeps and the sweetest couple you ever did meet. Can’t wait for the next book ,we’re in for a treat! Everything that Ellie Hall writes is sublime and worth my time . Always a cheer when I see one of her new books appear. You can’t go wrong with her moving and lighthearted funny love stories . She is the queen of comic timing too gloriously. This very well written masterpiece is worth every cent spent . I was in my element ,I didn’t want it to end . But I know there’ll be another perfect book out soon as in Ellie Hall you can depend. She keeps my mind and heart sated with her endless supply of new books each month that are five star plus rated .
This story was so sweet, fun, and swoony! I listened to the audio book and the narrators did a wonderful job voicing these characters, too.
I really liked how genuine both of these characters were. Even though when they first spent time together a year earlier and they didn't know each others' real names or anything about their backgrounds, they were drawn to each other and both of them kept thinking about the time they spent together as they went about their daily lives for the next year.
But the real fun started in the story when they accidentally met up again and began a "fake" relationship that felt a bit too "real" to both of them. Jack and Ella came from different backgrounds, yet they both had some insecurities that they brought with them. However, I loved how they were better together than they were apart and I appreciated the way Jack went out of his way to try to help Ella realize how important she was to him.
This story was just so fun to listen to and I'm looking forward to reading more about this hockey team in future books.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I'm definitely in the minority here, I don't understand all the 4 and 5 star reviews. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did. The fmc was just tstl. If this had been a horror movie, she would have been the ditz that went into the cellar during a blackout to see what the strange noises were. Too many silly things, no communication between Jack and Ella until the last chapter or so. The only likeable character was the dog.
I don’t even know what to say about this book, it was just so stinking perfect to me. All the Cinderella vibes, with an incredible “Pretty Woman” moment. Featuring so many of my favorite previous characters as their supporting cast. Jack and Ella were positively adorable together, in spite of the family dramas, social media shenanigans, and the wide disparity between their social and economic statuses. In the end, none of that mattered, only how much they cared for one another and wanted to be better people for the sake of their relationship; fake or otherwise. (We all knew it was real; the only people they were fooling were themselves.) Now I can’t wait to read everything else about Hockey Town. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book through Booksprout.
This was a fun book and the audiobook was great! The narrators were really talented and I enjoyed their storytelling. The way the author writes translates well to audio. The descriptive writing brings me into the story.
Ella and Jack were cute and I was very intrigued by their story because of the hidden identity and secrets. I loved how the tropes were layered in slowly. Love a fake relationship! Jack was a reformed rake and I really enjoyed how the author developed his characters. Ella was sweet and innocent but she seemed a little clueless about some things. Throughout the book she grew and changed, which and happy about.
This one was so fun and interesting and I loved the transition into Hockey Town and the small town vibes. There was a lot of character growth and it was fast-paced and intriguing. I really enjoyed Ella and Jack's stories and am excited to read more from this series.
I’m finding that some of Ellie Hall’s books are a bit hard for me to follow. I enjoy the stories but they take me a bit to get sucked in and sometimes I feel like I’m missing details, whether I forgot I read it or it was left out I’m not sure. Jack was sweet but he needed to learn to use his words and not just money to say things. Granted miscommunication is a huge thing in relationships, but it still gets annoying. And Ella was adorably sweet though a touch naive. My one issue with her was why would she not want to immediately go see her dad when she was off the island? I’m sure that if she had said something to Jack he would have happily helped her get there. I know it would have changed the ending somewhat but it bugged me for so much of the book. I wanted to read the first two books in this series before the 3rd comes out so I could know all the side characters. And I’m glad I did since that one will be all about Leah from this book (loved her and her brother Carlos/Chuck).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
My second book by Ellie Hall. I absolutely loved the first book I had read. This one lost something in translation for me, literally. There were a couple of other reviewers who put it into words well - the sentence structure felt off at times, to the point where I would re-read things repeatedly because I thought my tired brain was missing words or meaning. And, as one person mentioned, it felt at times like you were on the outside of an inside joke or story and not quite getting it.
I also struggled with Ella's storyline, although I wanted to believe it. But in the age we live in...it was just really hard to suspend belief and buy that she wouldn't have been able to have access to any phone, anywhere, for a year - or two? Her timeline was fuzzy to me, and I never totally figured it all out.) That she wouldn't have been able to keep even a couple dollars a day for one cheap meal and existed solely off of leftovers from room service trays for that long. That she slept on the beach and in supply closets and apparently bathed in the ocean (no way that worked for over a year with that salty water!) and no one noticed a thing.
Also, the idea that apparently she didn't have a single person back home who would have known where she had gone and come looking for her. Or, that somehow she would be arrested for "stealing" leftovers from trays sitting out in open hallways or using a fake name (which I'm still wondering how that worked with payroll since it sure didn't sound like she had access to a fake social security or anything). Yes, I know, it's a rom-com, it's not that deep. But this was a little much.
And it bothered me a bit that - in toned down sweet romance language - Jack is apparently sleeping arpund everywhere until not long before the FMC comes into the picture but it seems to bother her not one iota when she finds out his reputation, and it really doesn't seem to bother him other than a few mentions of the lifestyle not fulfilling him anymore. I would have preferred and expected, in a sweet romance like this, which even mentions him praying regularly, to see a bit more of a humbleness and regret over living the lifestyle he had.
It wasn't all bad - there were parts I loved, the humor I loved in the first book I read by her was present in this one, I actually really enjoyed some of the character arcs and backstory of Jack's mother.
As a whole, this didn't hit the mark for me, but it wouldn't keep me from reading another of her books, especially knowing how much I enjoyed the first book I read by her.
I will read anything Ellie writes! I first read her in the Love on Thin Ice series and devoured everything she wrote afterwards. I was so happy to see not only a new release from her, but another hockey romance. I loved Ella and Jack so much, their vibes, their banter, their whole relationship. This story was such a sweet read. Having met before, granted they didn’t know each other’s real identities, reading about them finding each other again, unknowingly of course, had me giddy with joy.
Ella was hurt by an ex. She thought he was a billionaire, but after stealing all her money and disappearing, she wanted nothing to do with billionaires. She took a job that helped keep her father in his care facility, but remains homeless. Even with so much going on in her life, she can’t seem to get her one night stand from long ago out of her mind. She is such a kind, good hearted person.
Jack has some big decisions coming up in regards to career. Still grieving his mother and not being able to forget his one night stand from the past. With his reputation needing to be cleaned up, he doesn’t know what to do. When he finds his one night stand sleeping in his hotel room, although he knows her by another name, he knows he has to help her. But she can help him out too. As they start fake dating, will feelings from long ago bubble to the surface or stay buried.
Ellie always does a great job writing swoony MMCs and strong headed FMCs. She is able to write characters who are complex, relatable, and easy to connect to. His Jersey is no different. With so many sweet moments, beloved characters from the past popping up, and wonderful new characters who I hope to see again someday, I thoroughly enjoyed this book from Ellie. However, I never doubted I would.
As always, review any author notes before reading.

Review:
I loved this Cinderella-esque sweet hockey romance! I loved how Ella didn’t know who Jack was and fell for the man she’d met rather than what he could do for her. I loved that Jack was ready to make a change at the very beginning of the story, but didn’t want the changes to be on someone else’s terms. I loved that he went all in with Ella, even when it was under the guise of their fake relationship or their arrangement. I loved getting to know Jack’s best friend & his sister!
I am so excited to see that the sister will be getting a story later on in this series (though I’m very curious who her hockey crush is & if it’ll be the same person she ends up with in her book or not 👀).
Summary:
Jack is a billionaire heir turned hockey star who is now in the midst of everything in his life changing at once. His coach tells him he’ll either need to retire or change to a different team. His father demands that he marry a woman that he picked for him. And Jack certainly doesn’t want to be told what to do, but he might have a plan to make things go his way…
Ella is a housekeeper at an island resort, but has all the money she earns going towards bills that keep piling up. The only thing that really keeps her going is the hope that she’s see the man of her dreams once again as she did the year before. Only she didn’t know that he was a famous hockey player nor that he’d ask for her help upon seeing each other again. Wearing his jersey to a game would be nothing compared to the offer he’s given her in exchange, had it not been for the feelings she harbors for the man. Now Ella isn’t sure where true feelings and fiction separate on Jack’s side of their relationship, but she is desperately hoping that he’s fallen for her just as much as she fell for him…
I really enjoyed this book. This sweet, swoony romcom has everything I was hoping for in a cozy romance—no language, no spicy scenes, just clean, closed-door romance that’s sure to warm your heart. The billionaire hockey player trope was a first for me, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
The fake dating and secret identity elements gave the story a delightful twist, and the Cinderella vibes instantly reminded me of Pretty Woman and Maid in Manhattan. The small-town setting only added to the charm, and the theme of found family was such a heartwarming touch. I couldn’t get enough of the witty banter between the couple—they had such great chemistry! It was easy to root for them, especially as they worked through their differences and learned to trust each other.
One of the aspects I really appreciated was the way the book tackled social and economic status. It made such a strong point that love isn’t about money or status—it’s about finding the right person who makes you feel like you belong. Ella’s resilience and how she stood her ground against the wealthier, more privileged characters was so inspiring. And I loved how Jack supported her throughout, never focusing on her lower status, but instead cherishing who she was and how she made him feel.
There’s also great character development with Jack. Watching him grow out of his playboy phase and mature into a man who truly values Ella was such a satisfying arc. It added depth to the romance and made it feel genuine and meaningful.
The family drama and social media mischief were fun to watch unfold, and I appreciated how it all came together in the end. Some of the scenes had me laughing out loud, and the romance was just so cute and swoony.
Though I haven’t read any of the other books in this series yet, I’m definitely curious to check them out now, especially since I enjoyed this book so much. If you're looking for a lighthearted, sweet romance with lovable characters and a lot of heart, this is the perfect read!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Booksprout for the opportunity to read this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. These are my own thoughts and opinions.
Ellie Hall hit the puck into the net big time with his book. I had a blast reading it. I fell in LOVE with Jack and Ella! I was hooked from the beginning until the end. I seriously didn't want this book to end.
Ella is struggling to stay afloat as a housekeeper at a fancy resort. She's trying to save every penny to pay for her dad's health care bills. I absolutely fell in love with Ella's character. She has a heart of gold. She's working her but off to help her dad and it just seems like nothing goes her way. But she does everything with a smile on her face.
Jack is a hockey player that is known for scoring goals and stealing hearts. Right now he's at a crossroads because of this problem so he decides he needs to find someone to wear his jersey so they will take him seriously.
Jack and Ella end up in a fake relationship but we all know how these play out so let me tell you that you are in for a lot of fun with this story. Jack had me swooning so hard in this book. I would definitely consider him a perfect book boyfriend.
The story and characters were so well written and enjoyable. There were a few characters that you will get a little irritated with but it's not horrible. I had so many moments where I found myself smiling like a fool!! I had moments that made me laugh, smile, swoon, mad but in the end it left me with the perfect happily ever after. Ellie Hall you amazing!!
I would highly recommend this book. Please grab a drink, cozy blanket and ENJOY this PERFECT romcom!!
Thank you Ellie Hall for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
If Cinderella and hockey had a story baby, this would be it! Jewel Island is a private oasis for the rich and famous, but for Ella, she’s stuck there! Jack has visited the island multiple times, but in the last 3 years he has encountered this mysterious beauty and now she has nowhere to run!
Jack is a hockey player at a crossroads with his career, retirement or trade teams. What better place to think about a life altering decision than the island where he’s the calmest and connected to his late mom. Yet, somehow, I don’t think he was planning on having a Goldilocks experience with the girl he met at the resort in years prior. It’s not as shady as it sounds, but she helps him process things and take the next steps forward.
Ella has had hard lot in life thrown at her and Jack seems to have a magic hockey stick to help her find an escape from the past that seems to be holding her hostage! While not knowing Jack’s identity previously, things in the present aren’t so bad! While adjusting to the new title of “Puck Princess,” she is met with all sorts of discomfort from various outsiders, but as they cream rises to the top!
This book has some high highs and low lows mentioned in both the past and present, but all were necessary! Ellie has sprinkled in Easter eggs from past books and gives subtle nods to future stories helping foster my love for Cobbiton! The side characters helped make this story what it was and that is an absolute success! Can’t wait to find out which of the many possible hockey storylines are coming next!
Ella has it hard. What began as a fun trip to paradise with her friends, turns into a homeless survival after she is scammed. She is trapped by the need to care for her hospitalized father which has her sending every penny back home. Returning home and finding a job would mean her father loses his care. A tragic Catch-22.
Jack is a superstar hockey player on a lousy team with a reputation for excess partying. His billionaire father wants him to give up playing this silly game, take over the family hotel empire, end his endless dating, and marry a rich heiress. Unlike his father, he hold on to the sweet memory of his deceased mother
Jack spies Ella three years prior as she is with her friends and he is grieving over his mother’s recent passing. The next year she is still there when he does his annual pilgrimage to the resort his mother loved. The following year, they finally meet when Ella helps Jack free his stuck vehicle. He invites her to dinner and a late-night swim.
Now, after arriving late at the resort, he finds the girl of his dreams crashed out in his hotel room. The story rapidly goes from fake dating--wearing his jersey--to a fake engagement and real feelings.
This story is a worthy spinoff of the Nebraska Knights series, with cameos of our favorite characters. Ellie Hall weaves fake dating and billionaire romance, secret identity and Cinderella-esque, and small-town vibes into delightful closed-door, sweet romcom.
- Second chance - Hockey romance - Cinderella vibe - Fake relationship
This story is a sweet second chance romance that has all of the Cinderella meets hockey vibes!
A year ago, Ella and Jack had a meet cute at the hotel Jack's father owns (He doesn't tell Ella that). Ella is using a fake name - Jasmin - and after the magical night, she realizes she has no options except to stay and work at the hotel. Her former boyfriend (who told her HE was the owner's son) swindled her out of all of her money. Ashamed, she didn't tell anyone. But she has to pay for her father's increasing medical bills, so she becomes a hotel maid, staying in unoccupied rooms and eating leftovers.
Jack is heading back to the resort to honor his late mother. He is a professional hockey player, but has not been playing well lately. He can't seem to get out of his own head. He finds out he is being traded to a team that has a much stricter morality clause. Luckily, he sees Ella at the hotel and makes her a deal - he'll help her financially if she pretends to be his girlfriend and wears his jersey. Simple, right? Except their feelings for each other are anything but fake...
This is a standalone, but characters from other books by this author make appearances. And I'm looking forward to future books to check in on this couple and their cute doggo.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this hockey story and loved the main characters. Ella and Jack had met on more than one occasion before the opening of this story. She had no idea who he really was or what he did for a living. She was also hiding her identity even going so far as wearing a wig and he thought her name was Jasmine. This is a really fun Cinderella type story.
The backstory to Ella is that a guy she was dating left her on the island after stealing her money. She thought he was a billionaire’s son that owned the resort. After that experience she wanted nothing to do with billionaires. She works as a housekeeper to send money home to keep her dad in a care facility. With no place to live she sleeps where she can until she got caught sleeping in Jack’s room.
Jack is at a crossroads in his career and he has some major decisions to make. He goes to the island every year to remember his deceased mother. He also remembers Jasmine who was very different than the puck bunnies he’s been known to date. If he wants to continue to play hockey he’ll have to clean up his reputation and prove he can make a commitment. Finding Jasmine ( Ella) in his room, he needs an explanation. When he discovers what she’s been through he knows he has to help. Maybe she can also help him by agreeing to wear his jersey at his upcoming game?
Can Ella trust Jack when she finds out he is really the billionaire’s son who owns the resort? Will she agree to wear his jersey and let him help her get back up on her feet? Will Jack decide he wants more than a fake relationship with Ella, going against his father’s plans for him? Will she help him make the decision about his future whether to retire or be traded to the Nebraska Knights?.

There was an exciting synergy between Jack and Ella that made reading this book fun. I liked the growth each experienced individually. But their real changes came with the move from the Carolina Storm team when Jack was traded to the Nebraska Knights. It was like the Storm were a bunch of grandstanding high school jocks, and the Knights were seasoned professionals at the peak of their skills. I loved the camaraderie of the Knights and the way they took the sport seriously enough to subdue their individual egos to play as a team. Both Jack and Ella had created barriers and limitations to just maintain the status quo, but the move to Cobbiton in the Omaha suburbs unlocked those fences so each could make that last transition to maturity. I always love series where characters from earlier books make appearances and this series is no exception. There were also a couple new characters added in the persons of Jack's personal assistant, 'Carlos' and his sister Leah. They are sure to make an appearance again sometime in the future. And the dog that adopted Jack, Bark Wahlburger, was a great addition and a ton of fun to read.
I received an advance beta copy of this story directly from the author and voluntarily chose to share my review.
My third book from Ellie Hall, and even though I didn't find it as good as the other two books I've read, it was still a pretty solid book.
This was a good and sweet hockey romance book.
Jack and Ella's story was a cute and interesting one - at times I was a bit bored, skimming through unimportant parts - but for most of the time, where both our main characters were involved, I was enjoying the story.
The writing style for me was a bit off in this book. Sometimes I felt like the sentences were structured weirdly, and words were a bit jumbled - some sentences didn't make sense to me.
Because of this, I was 20% into the book when I realized that Jack and Slater were not the same person💀 - I have no idea how I didn't understand that earlier, but as I said, certain things that were written were a bit confusing sometimes.
One thing I loved with this books was the fact that we got to see the characters from the "Nebraska Knights" series - especially the main characters from "The Kiss Class", hockey player Pierre Arsenault and Cara Badaszek - and of course, the one and only, coach Tom Badaszek!
All in all, I found this story cute and wholesome - a great average read!
Looking forward to the other books in this series!

This was such a cozy, sweet sports romance! 🏒❤️ Ellie Hall brings the perfect combo of small-town charm and the classic fake dating trope that had me smiling throughout. The chemistry between Ella, a hardworking hotel maid, and Jack, a famous hockey player, is genuinely heartwarming, complete with playful banter and slow-building feelings.
Tropes I loved: 🫦 Fake Dating 🏕️ Small-Town Romance 🔥 One Night Stand ❤️🔥 Hotel Maid x Hockey Player 👩❤️👨 Found Family 💞 Clean Romance 👠 Cinderella Vibes 😍 He Falls First
Narrators Derek Dysart and Carolyn Eve did an amazing job bringing Ella and Jack to life, their voices matched the characters perfectly and made the story feel like a movie in my head. 🎧✨
Huge thanks to Ellie Hall and Tantor Audio for the audio copy! I truly enjoyed every moment, the narration, the story, and the overall production quality were absolutely fantastic. So grateful for the opportunity to dive into this emotional and spicy audiobook ahead of release! 🙌🎧💖
🎧 I listened to the audiobook and loved the dual narration - it brought their internal dialogue, chemistry and banter to life in the best way.
He’s a professional hockey player with a reputation for partying and privilege. She’s a hotel maid stuck on a nightmare island paradise, working to pay off her injured father’s medical bills and scraping together enough money to leave. When fate (and a hotel room mishap) throws them together, he proposes a solution to both their problems - fake date for a little while. He’ll give her the money she needs to move off the island, and she’ll help him appear more grounded and mature to his team and the media. But of course, pretending to fall in love is never quite that simple.
This story had a few wild plot moments, but was very entertaining and engaging. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and there’s a nice emotional arc as they each confront their fears, goals, and growing connection. I appreciated that the romance stayed closed-door while still offering flirty banter and real stakes.
If you're looking for a bingeable romcom with a few wild plot twists, character growth, fake dating romance, and all the hockey jersey goodness, this one is flirty and fun!
Sweet, Heartwarming Story with Wonderful Characters, Settings and an Adorable Pup
At first blush Ella and Jack would seem to be polar opposites with an amazing attraction and who are keeping their identities secret, but as the story unfolds it becomes apparent that although they have both been deeply hurt in the past, they become able to open up to and support each other. I also enjoyed that despite Ella's circumstances and Jack's wish to "just take care of everything with money", she wanted to work, support and stand up for him, and to be a true partner and rather than a "princess". The book was well written, flowed smoothly, and all of the characters were well developed and I especially enjoyed their rescued pup Bark Wahlburger. I loved their friends Carlos and Leah and their new Nebraska Knights "family". But the best part of the book is Jack and Leah's individual personal growth, communication and eventual HEA. I can't wait for more in this series - Enjoy!
I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is like a new take on Cinderella. Ella is stuck on Jewel Island and now working as a cleaner, sleeping wherever she can. After dumping her ex after catching him cheating she had no way of getting back, hiding out as his father owned the resort and was a billionaire who would certainly throw the book at her believing his son's story. The only silver lining was seeing Jack once a year when he seemed to spend time here for a few days. Jack was disillusioned with just about everything his life was in total disarray. Between his coach telling him to retire or be transferred and his dad trying to marry him off to enhance his dad's business. The only thing he had good was his memory of the girl he met on Jewel Island but she gave him a false name and now she's all he thinks about. Can these two help each other, and is everything as it seems. I enjoyed everything about the story and the added bonus is the cute Bark Wahlburger. Ellie has certainly given us a superb story that I didn't want to put down
Publisher Description He’s a hockey superstar. She’s a hotel maid. When he offers to pay her to wear his jersey to a game, she’s crowned the “Puck Princess.” What could go wrong with fake dating ... aside from everything?
I love Ellie's books, all are entertaining and all have been romantic. His Jersey is the first book in a new series from Ellie and has been written extremely well. The main characters here are two opposites, Ella a hotel maid and Jack a hockey superstar. The storyline has been written well and draws the reader into the story too, it just feels real, true to life.
His Jersey has it all, a small-town romance, a fake relationship, a secret identity oh and a billionaire romance:) I highly recommend this book to all and look forward to any more that may be added in the new year.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Easy-to-read, Entertaining, Happily Ever After, Inspirational, Page-turner, Romantic, Realistic, and Wonderful characters
So this was a whirlwind of emotions! Ella had such a tough background, what she went through was just tough. Also, I was just not too sure of Jack...
But it actually turned up good❤️ I loved him! This story had Cinderella vibes! You start to get your answers & see how everything goes on. The story & Jack's development gets better as it goes and I loved where it ended.
One thing you need to know about this story is that it's fast paced, okay? However it works out good, I think it's Ellie's style & she does it amazing. The Nebraska part was the best thing that could happen!
Also the sport side of the story? So good! I loved the hockey team, what they stand for & I love everything about it. I wish I could talk more about this but you just have to read it.
Count me in for another story from Ellie!
Scenes I loved: ⛸️The rink 💕Taking care
⚠️TW: Fraud; loss of a loved one (in the past)
✨* I was kindly gifted an ARC from the author. This doesn't influence in any form my review/opinion of the book*
I really loved His Jersey by Ellie Hall…it’s such a refreshing, sweet romance that felt like a warm hug.
Ella’s struggle to keep her family afloat while navigating this unexpected connection with Jack was so genuine and heartfelt. I found myself rooting for her every step of the way, especially as she balanced the reality of her life with the fantasy of this fairy-tale romance.
Jack’s character was a nice mix of superstar confidence and real vulnerability, which made their fake-dating-to-real-love story feel authentic instead of cliché.
The small-town vibes combined with the glamorous hockey world created a fun backdrop that was both entertaining and cozy.
What really stood out for me was the clean, wholesome tone — no drama over cheating or heavy language, just pure swoony moments and emotional depth.
If you want a feel-good romance with plenty of charm, sweet kisses, and a satisfying happily ever after, His Jersey is absolutely your game-day winner.
There are so many things that I really enjoyed with this book. The type of fake dating trope to the real feelings they have for each other. I loved the different fairy tale references, those just brought a smile to my face. I love the small town of Cobbiton and its family oriented hockey team. The way Jack and Ella met again for the second time is so cute. I just loved Ella and Jack, and seeing their character growth was just perfection. While there were some characters that I really disliked they just added to the story in the best way.
This is book one in the Love in Hockey Town series. While this is a different series it is connected and tied into the Nebraska Knights Holiday Hockey Romance.
I honestly can’t wait read more of this series with the Nebraska Knights. I totally recommend this series and the series it is tied too.
Listened to on @hoopla Narrated by Derek Dysart and Carolyn Eve. They did a great job putting a voice to Ella and Jack!
