As a veterinarian an exclusive Beverly Hills animal hospital, Jessica isn't easily impressed. She deals with famous faces every day. But she can't resist the chance of seeing her favorite band live at the Hollywood Bowl. When her friends from work dare her to go to the stage door before the show, she takes the dare, despite her misgivings.
Kendall Jackson is jaded. A super star since his boy band phase, he's now one of the premier rock stars in the world. He's seen it all. But when the tiny, young beauty nearly gets trampled outside his concert, his natural sense of chivalry takes over. He decides to give his young fan the night of her life by letting her back stage. Little does he know, she's not as young and innocent as he thinks she is. When she takes him up on his offer, he's in for the night of his life.
Excerpt: Kendall was staring at Jessica's body again. Her waist was so small he could span it with his hands. But above that and below it, nice juicy handfuls. She was saying something… he forced himself to pay attention. "Hmmm?" "I'm not so sure about this." "What's wrong?" They were standing on the tarmac, getting ready to board the private plane the hotel had sent for them. Jessica looked ready to bolt. "This is really crazy. I can't just go to Vegas. I have to work tomorrow." He frowned, trying to figure out how to convince her to come with him. She had to come now. He was counting on it. He had no idea how it had happened but he desperately didn't want the night to end. Not that he expected anything to happen necessarily... Well, nothing that his hormones were hoping for anyway. He was definitely going to get a kiss out of her. More than that. A lot more hopefully. He had to get his hands on that tight little body. But he could tell she wasn't the kind of girl who was going to just take her clothes off. He told himself he liked that about her. Even if it interfered with his baser desires. It had been four months since he broke up with Becca. He'd gone out with a few girls since then but nothing serious. Models mostly. He had other things on his mind other than sex. Usually that was the case. But not tonight. Right now he was trying to force himself to cool his jets. He didn't want to scare her off, did he? "Call in sick. You did get knocked in the head after all." He grinned at her, trying to put her at ease. To hide the fact that she was making him feel like a horny teenager for some wild reason. All he knew for sure was that he wanted to get this girl on the plane with him. Maybe that's what was throwing her off. "Look, we don't have to do anything. Let's just have fun." She smiled at him shyly. Jesus, the girl was sweet! He felt an overwhelming urge to protect her wash over him. She chewed her lip thoughtfully. He wanted to do that for her. God, her mouth was luscious… How had he thought she was a kid before? "Seriously. I mean, you are very cute but I'm not a raving sex maniac or anything, I promise." She laughed. Good. That was a good sign. "Okay." He grinned and grabbed his backpack. "I'll even let you borrow my toothbrush." She rolled her eyes at him. He kind of loved that she wasn't all that impressed by his status. She was definitely not putting him on a pedestal. On the other hand, he wouldn't mind putting her on one… much easier to get access to those insane curves she had. Down boy. He watched as she got checked in by the flight crew. Then she smiled at him. "Let's do this."
Joanna Blake loves good old fashioned romance, men who open doors and work with their hands. Hot Blooded Heroes is a series of sizzling stories about True Blue American men and the women who love them. She's thrilled to be collaborating with Pincushion Press on her new series! Come along for the ride! XoX, Joanna *********
Not my favorite book by her but still pretty good. My main issue was he seemed solely set on getting her in bed. I felt like that was literally all he cared or thought about. And she wasn't having it. So it was a lot of back and forth. Besides that it was still a really good book. Cover was super cute. Ill definitely be continuing on with the next.
This a very quick and erotic read by author Joanna Blake. Kendall, the hero, knows that Jessica is HIS ONE but he has to convince her of this. Jessica made Kendall work for it and didn't give in to his seductions. There are twists, turns and surprises and what is awesome is half the time you didn’t see these coming and that made this even sweeter when they came out of the blue. Jessica has crushed on Kendall for years and now she is trying to figure out how she suddenly has him in her life and why he would want to even take her places, yet Vegas is where she ends up with him. She suddenly starts putting up her wall to protect herself and that has Kendall trying to break her wall down to past that wall and show her that he is serious, very serious about her, as in the forever type. But Jessica is afraid he cant give up his playboy ways… Will he give up his way for her? Will Jessica let someone get past her strong, so strong walls and self-doubt? I loved this story by Ms. Blake, with its passion and angst, its love and action. It is a keeper and I cannot wait to read more with Kendall’s friends in more books .
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Kendall is one of those people you have to love, he's just so sweet and the first time he meets Jessica... well it's something, "Kendall Jackson was grinning down at her. "You're a cute little thing aren't you?" The simplest things make his girl happy, "pancakes? Really?" She nodded breathlessly. She really did want pancakes. And time to gather her thoughts. Mount her defenses. He kissed her forehead. "Okay pumpkin, let's go." I liked how sweet Kendall could be, "she rapidly blinked back tears. He released her abruptly. "Eff, did I hurt you Jess? I forget how tiny you are sometimes." Joanna's books are short but they always pack a punch.
I'm a big fan of Joanna Blake's biker romances...so when I was given the chance to read one of her new rock star romances...I was all in! How many teenage girls didn't at one time have a fantasy of getting backstage and meeting their rockstar idol crush..or perhaps even being a groupie and getting to do a whole lot more than just meeting them? How about this scenario...(which is personally MY favorite)...actually meeting a teenage crush as adults...and having a more meaningful and lasting encounter? Dare Me is just that and more...Jessica, a sweet and pretty conservative veterinarian meets Kendall, her teenage rockstar crush one night and in a strange (and even fortunate) turn of events, ends up injured and in his care. What happens next will have you panting (the foreplay in this book is steamy and really sets the pace) and cheering her on...because Jess is not that slutty, bleached blonde, no-panty-wearing groupie looking for a good time, but a really good girl who wants to do the right thing and not be another notch in Kendall's "already has too many holes" belt! Kendall himself is tired of the same old thing as well, and is looking for more stability in his life. He is hesitant at first because he believes she's too good to be true and is as big a skeptic as Jessica. I absolutely loved this book...the story was sweeter and less raunchy than some of the other rock series I have read, but nonetheless, it was so exciting to read and the characters were very engaging and likeable. Even Kendall's bandmates who just thought she was there for a good time at first, became allies. This book also had quite a bit of humor, fantasy wish fulfillment and a pretty adorable dog side story that really melted my heart. Recommend for rock chicks and HEA romance readers alike. =)

This was a cute, quick read! (It wasn't quick for me because I was reading two other books at the same time, but if I'd been focused, it would have been!) I liked Kendall & Jess a lot! Their meeting is interesting, that's for sure! ; ) They have a whirlwind courtship that was a lot of fun, as well. : )

I LOVE Joanna Blakes MC romances!!!! So when I picked this up I was not disappointed.
Kendall was in a boy band now a rock idol. A bit jaded by fame he hits Jessica with his car when she is on her way backstage with her friends. She has been a fan since way back when! He thinks she's underage but she tells him her age and that she's a veteranarian.
He doesn't believe her. The sexual build up in this book between them is incredable!!! When they finally have sex it's explosive.
He wants stability, she's not sure. So he keeps going after her until she caves....you'll love it!!!
Jess is definitely not a groupie! She made me proud of women who have respect for themselves. The story was too short, but I'll be rereading it many times anyway, so that ok. Adored Kendalls character. He was fantastic. Loved him on the rides too. Wish there could be another book on these two characters(_hint, hint)!! Thanx for letting us enjoy your work Joanna Blake.
Dare Me is the story of Jessica and Kendall. Jessica is a strong and independent woman who is just out looking for a good time and to blow off some steam. What she gets is so much more than any reader could expect. Kendall is a “rock God.” When he inadvertently becomes Jessica’s savior, he realizes there is so much more to not only her but life itself.
Jessica is unsure of Kendall’s new obsession with her and tries to keep her distance, but he will not let her. As the story unfolds the plot becomes a bit (okay more than a bit) unrealistic and over the top. This is what makes this story so much fun to read. It is a true escape from reality and a fun adventure ride. If as a reader you have read this authors books before then you know what to expect and she delivers. If you are new to her, then sit back, get comfortable and enjoy the ride because what a sweet ride it is! The secondary characters really added to the humor and the outcome of the romance. This is a sweet romance with humor, adventure, and true love!
It is great to read a story that is different and based on the story line, the characters interactions, and their communication rather than the lustful experiences. I really enjoyed reading this story and would recommend it to anyone who wants a sweet romance. I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
I absolutely loved this book!!! This is the story of Kendall and Jessica. Jessica hasn't had the best childhood and one of the bright points of her life as a child was the band that Kendall was the frontliner in. When she heard that the boy band was doing a reunion tour she knew that she had to go to the concert. They run into each other (literally lol) by chance at the concert. Once Kendall sees that she is okay...his concern turns into attraction. Its kinda funny at first...he thought Jessica was underage lol but once he realizes that she is indeed legal he wants her by his side. He whisks her away to Vegas and proceeds to woo her. Jessica is leery of Kendall's intentions...she has been tossed aside all her life and is fiercely independent cause she knows that all people do is let her down. Kendall definitely has his work cut out for him but he is up for the challenge...he knows that deep down that she is the one for him. The chemistry between the two was off the charts hot. This book is full of fun times, sweet romantic moments, hot steamy times, and twists and turns to keep one guessing.
I can't wait to see what is in store next for the Rock Gods series. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves a good rockstar romance. Another 5 star read from the very talented Joanna Blake.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
When Kendall decides Jessica is legal and needs to be his companion for the night, he throws on the rock and roll charm to convince her after the show Vegas is where she wants to be! Never mind how they first met! Jessica has crushed on this man for years, wondering how in the world she has ended up in Vegas with the man is beyond her. Scared of getting left she has her armor up high, Kendall wants to break down her walls in fail swoop- as much as she wants that it is too much to let this dangerous man with the charms and celebrity playboy status. Will he give up his way for her? Will Jessica let someone get past her Ironclad walls and self-doubt? It is my understanding this is a redo of a previously written book, by Joanna Blake, with added scenes, deleted text, and much editing. I did not read the book the first time around so I cannot compare the two. I enjoyed this book with its light steamy dramatic flair and that fast driven, insta- all feel. I did have a bit of a hard time picking up on their connection, it felt very one-sided, but that could just be me! I would recommend you check this rockstar romance out for yourself and see how Kendall and Jessica meet! I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
I received a courtesy copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. Jess needed music in her life growing up and she adored Kendall, the lead singer in her favorite band. Now, years later, they’re getting back together for a reunion tour and she’s not going to miss it. If only she knows how her life is about to change and just how up close and personal her and Kendall will actually become…
Up All Night is one of the sexiest, heart-melting romances I’ve read in a long time! If all women could have a hero like Kendall, this world would be darn near perfect. Ms. Blake knows how to tug on my heartstrings and I won’t miss any part of this series. The sparks that fly with the hero and heroine are evident and kept me on edge the entire story. I can hardly wait to move on to the next book in this series, even though I hated to see this one end! I loved it! 5 Stars!
When Jessica Sheffield and her friends heard about a comeback tour for her teenage crush Kendall Jackson’s band, In Tempo, they quickly purchase the tickets but little does she know that that one concert will change her life forever. When Kendall tries to sneak into the back entryway, he doesn’t think about the mini riot that it will cause until it’s too late. When he helps the tiny superfan into the concert backstage, he can’t help but be drawn to her, only he thinks she’s a teenager and not a young woman. When he invites her to Vegas to help her stay up all night, things escalate when he finally gets a chance to kiss her. When he finds out that she’s not a teenager, will he be able to keep his hands to himself? Or will Jessica leave him in Vegas before he has a chance? I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This might be a little tame from the other rock star books out there, but this one is still a pretty good bet.
It was short, sweet and straightforward. The heroine was a bit on the naive side, but our rocker lives up to his name. Just a bit noisy with his monologues and gets lost a bit in his head sometimes, but still a rock god.
It was a bit short on the chemistry between them though. It was fast paced, so I guess there wasn't much build up on that, hence the not so steamy romantic scenes. I was also a bit let down for the lack of an ending - it just ended abruptly, without much to go on. I wanted an epilogue of sorts like maybe a wedding or kids and stuff - but they're still on tour. I hope though we have another book with another couple and we see a glimpse of them there.
Not much character or plot development and a whole lot of repetition and instalove. Heroine’s super tiny with killer curves and looks like a child, hero’s kind of a big thing, repeat ad nauseum.
Nearly every box of the rock star sub-genre cliché is checked. With so many other books out there that do this trope masterfully, this isn’t one of them. It’s a quick read for sure, but don’t go in with a whole lot of expectation.
(And a huge pet peeve, the story is written in the third person however each of the chapters is labeled as either Jessica’s or Kendall’s. It’s really unnecessary given the active voice is the narrator’s, not the character’s.)
And the author actually uses the word “nubbin”. No, just no.
Great Read I really enjoyed this book. I was pulled into the story right from chapter one and didn't want it to end. Being able to picture the story in my head while I am reading it is something I love, it never fails to happen with this author. There are twists, turns and surprises, some of the surprises you will see coming and others you won't. I laughed at the two main characters and I got frustrated with them, I even shouted at the kindle at one point, which isn't anything new for me. Joanna Blake is in my 10 of favourite authors to read. She knows how to hold my interest with in a book. I look forward to what is next from her.
What do you get when you take a fabulous writer and amazing plot and throw them together? Well in this case you get this awesome book called Dare Me! To me it is about the past not defining you, learning to trust, over coming hard times, not letting fame get to your head and knowing when it's meant to be you take a leap! I got emotional, I laughed and smiled throughout this book! Jess from the book loves a good Dare and can't say no! So I Dare you to read the book...readers this is one dare you want to tackle! You will love it! Joanna you did amazing job and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to read your books
I love all Joanna's storiea and one of them is Rock God series. I envy Jessica for catching the attention of her teenage rock star crush Kendall, i mean i'm a fangirl and this is my fanstasy. Anyway i actually understand her for keeping her her distance to Kendall coz its not everyday that your rock god crush have this attention to you. I love how innocent she is and how sassy her mouth is, she is like a little spitfire that attract Kendall. I love how Kendall knew that Jessica is his forever and how hot he is. i love the twist, i Love the whole story.
Jessica has always had a crush on the lead singer of In Tempo. She finally gets the chance to go to one of their concerts. Little does she know that because of one dare from her friends her whole life is going to change all thanks to Kendall Jackson. I loved this book. It was interesting from the beginning to the end. It was interesting and kept you hanging on to see what was going to happen between these two. Some very interesting moments happen between these two and I absolutely loved reading about them. Joanna did an amazing job with this one. I recommend reading this one .
I love Kendall and Jess! Kendall is a very confident, not overly cocky, rocker with a super sweet side. I really liked Jess, her love of animals and that strength she had to build in herself since she was young. The story flows well, there is a very quick connection with a lot of fun! I am looking forward to more of this series.
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The story of Jess and Kendall was short and sweet. It took them all of one week to fall in love. It is almost believable. In that short time, Jess's stuff has been moved into Kendall's home, and she is on tour with him. Now, there is talk of marriage. Fairytale stuff. I do love that right this moment, having read some crappie books prior to this. It cleanses the despondency out of me.
No No and No. Maybe a good idea for the story BUT heck no, on how it was written. The whole story, give or take a few sentences here and there, was written in inner monologue. And the whole inner monologue was about why he/she wanted something... or it was describing something or someone. The story felt incomplete... So much time was on descriptive monologue it lost pages on the true story.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review. I read the first edition of this book, and always really liked this story. I like this rewrite even better! To be honest, Jess and Kendall were always my favorite couple in the Rock Gods series. I was really happy that this book went into a little more detail. I also thought it was cool that Bruce and Nick made appearances in this version so that now all of the books are connected.
Nobody writes hot sexy love stories better than Joanna Blake. Mega rock star Kendall Jackson meets his match in Jessica Sheffield in Dare Me, Rock Gods Book 1. He will do almost anything to win the trust and heart of this feisty fan. I highly recommend this and all of Joanna Blake's books. Can't wait to read Slay Me, Book 2 in the series.
This is the first book in the Rock Gods Series, and I loved it. Kendall is a former boy band star turned solo artist rock star, who falls hard for Jessica a veterinarian who has had a difficult childhood. Her trust issues have him doing everything he can to show her that he is real and not going anywhere. This is a great short read, with a cute couple chasing their happily ever after.
