Thanks so much to netgalley for allowing me this title in exchange for a review. This book was better than the first! I really enjoyed this book, and love this series. I hope there is more, and not just with Daniella, or Xane but all the characters. If you love books about hard core rock stars then look no further. Dani just amazes me with how much she puts up with to be on the road with Xane, he doesn't stray from his love for her which is equally scintillating. I crave another book already! Five hot stars!

I have been waiting eagerly for this since I finished Come Undone (the first in the Black Halo series which you really should read first) and it's been more than worth the wait.

Dani is now on tour with her red hot lover rock star Xane and his band. And it's not plain sailing. Dealing with her past and the impact that has had on her ability to trust is hard enough, but someone seems hell bent on destabilising the band, which is already extremely fragile following the demise of one of its members.

There is plenty of scorching love action in this book, and it isn't for the prudish. It is however, very well written and together with the descriptive details that we get about all the band members, it builds to a very real feeling of being on the road.

If I like a character I want to know everything about them, and Madelynne has written this particular book mostly from the point of view of Xane and Dani, giving us glimpses of the others that I am assured will be expanded on in further books. It definitely makes me want to read more!

In summary, I think you could probably enjoy this as a stand alone story but for the full benefit you should treat yourself to the others in the Black Halo series and settle down for a long happy reading session.

~*~My Thoughts~*~
A 5 Star Rating

Wow just wow! I am in complete love with Madelynne and this series. This book was just as good as the first if not better. Xane and Dani are absolutely amazing characters who I can't get enough of. Xane is so raw and gritty I can never have enough of that man. Dani is extremely lovable and every quirk she might have comes across and just her being her she doesn't get on my nerves ever. Which I have to say very rarely happens with female characters lol. All in all this series is the freaking bomb and I can't wait for the next book.

Received a complimentary copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

Now, that is so much better than the first book in this series. I enjoyed these characters and Luther and Dani and Xaine. I mean hot scenes. This was a very far step in the right direction from the last one. I felt for Luther and Xaine. He is so hot! He is the good guy I think in this story. I love how it all comes together and will be reading the great of this story. I really like Ash! Good job!!

I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you, Net Galley!

I really enjoyed "Come Together" by Madelynne Ellis. It's the second in the Rock Hard series but stands alone just fine. It was a bit confusing in the beginning because it started in an awkward place. It gets past the awkwardness and turns into a great book with an interesting story and very hot sex. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series.

This one just barely made it to a three, and it’s mostly because Ellis had the bravery to make this continuation of Xane and Dani’s story SO MESSY. It could have been edited down quite a bit, I think, but kudos to Ellis for not making Xane and Dani being together on tour at all easy.

We pick up with a very fragile Black Halo reunited and trying to tour with replacement drummer Iain, who’s an acknowledged douche even from the start. Waiting in the wings is a better drummer, Luthor, who also happens to have been one of Xane’s favorite past hookups. Xane’s trying to do the monogamous thing now though, so he warns Luthor away and swears him to secrecy. But meanwhile Luthor and Dani become friendly, even when she knows Luthor wouldn’t mind if Xane looked his way again. And in the background of all this, some seriously dangerous stuff starts happening to band members. Could it be sabotage?

If the first book in the Xane and Dani series dealt a lot with biphobia, that is still present here, but plus consent violations! This is what I mean by messy. Ellis has the fortitude to write some things as they actually go down, not in the idealized manner of some romances where everyone flawlessly understands and executes on checking boundaries and consent. It gives the book realism, but sometimes also a certain cringe factor. Similarly as Xane and Dani navigate Xane’s – and Dani’s – attraction to Luthor. Yep, there is some cheating. Be forewarned if that’s not your thing.

But if you can set that aside, or even revel in the mess, this is a compelling story to read. It gets a little bogged down with the theatrics around the band, but I suppose folks who read rock star romance might expect that. This series definitely dips into soap opera territory in terms of storytelling vibes, but there’s a reason people watch those things compulsively.

Come Together, Rock Hard Book 2, Madelynne Ellis
Review from jeannie zelos book reviews

I loved Rock Hard, so was really pleased to review this sequel. Dani – I really felt for her, she’d had a horrific childhood and teenage years, and the partnership of her and Xane seems so unlikely. Yet it works, they love each other and Xane can’t seem to keep his hands off her. She’s still struggling though with coping with his sex addicted past, when he used sex with men and women, as a crutch to help him cope. Dani had been brought up in an extreme religious female group where sex was classed as wrong, and even thoughts of it punished cruelly. She’s been abandoned by her mum now, and has no-one except Xane and her long time support and friend Ginny. Dani and Zane are like an island among a sea of others, clutching to each other to survive. Xane is still struggling with the loss of his lover, band member Steve. ( that’s a whole other story too...typical convoluted rock band mixings). the original idea was to use tapes to replace Steve but its clear that won’t work and they bring in another drummer for the tour.
Its a really fun read, full of steamy sex, jealous fans, and band squabbles. The tour seems fraught with mishaps and dangers and it looks like there may be someone out to sabotage it – but who is the danger really aimed at. Dani gets some graphic photos showing Xane with a male lover and the message she won’t be able to keep him, and added to that she’s seen the way he looks at new support roadie Luthor...he’s seriously hot, and tells Dani he fancies Xane and her too. Somehow they become unlikely friends, though she’s never sure if Xane will take him up on his flirting...he tells her she’s enough but with his background she’s worried. Xane too is worried – he hasn’t told Dani something from his past that could come back to haunt him, its friction, secrets, danger and threats all the way.
I’d guessed who was behind things but not why, and the finale came as a surprise, with things I didn’t expect. The way it plays out and ends reminds very much of Olivia Cunnings Sinners books, the one centred around band member Trey...and has the same steamy, sexy feel to it. I like the way we follow the band on the tour – I’ve read too many “band” or “film” books where the characters are that in name only, and we never go near a studio or tour, or a film set...if its that world I want to feel I’m In it with them, not just see it referred to in passing.
I’m hoping we see more of Ash and Ginny too in later books – they’ve been side characters in all books so far, and fit well into the story.
Stars: Five, really enjoyed this, a typical “rock band” book, with a great realistic setting.

I already rated it but it is worth saying again Five huge stars!
If you have read the first book In this series " Come Undone" you know just how great Dani and Xane are together , though their backgrounds are vastly different !

" Come Together " picks up were "Cone Undone" leaves off the band is setting out on tour to honor their drummer Steve, but the band is barely holding it together and Xane bringing Dani along , just adds to the turmoil, but for Xane no Dani on tour with him, no tour.
Dani's very prudish , strict and homophobic upbringing and then add on the loss of her father in her life when he left for another man, leaves her having concerns and difficulty believing Xane can remain faithful given Xanes past addiction and his bisexuality . Dani and Xane however are incredible together they fit like puzzle pieces, she is good for him and he is good for Dani, pushing her to relax and enjoy her sexuality and the string women she can be, but someone has it in for them and is causing situations that take advantage off Dani's insecurities about Xane.

Xane however, takes every opportunity to prove to Dani the depth of what he feels for her as they travel from concert to concert with words an actions, his insatiable need Dani, finds these two having very go sex in many places and with risk o public exposure too , but this still does not make feel Dani secure especially when she finds out Her new freind and new Roadie; Luther was once Xane conquest and both admit that it was some of the best sex they had in the past.
Luther admits to Dani , that he joined the tour with the hopes of getting together with Xane again,but he would never purposely come between them.
So when Xane and Luther hav a loss of restraint in their sexual tension, Dani runs scared, becoming separated from the tour and the person to find her is her compition Luther!

Can Dani accept Xane's need for more than just her! Will Dani make Xanes dream of a threesome come true?
Can they survive his indiscretion with Luther?

I'm not telling , time to jump on board this tour bus and findsout for yourself!

Come Together is the second book in the Rock Hard series and should be read in order as it's a continuation of Xane and Dani's story.

This story contains M/M, M/F, and M/M/F sexual situations. If you are not comfortable with these subjects I highly recommend not reading this series

Come Together is a highly erotic story involving a rock star named Xane and his insecure girlfriend named Dani. Xane and his band Black Halo hit the road for a six month tour, causing extra strain on Dani and Xane's relationship.

Dani and her insecurities have her in constant fear that she'll loose Xane, especially to another man. Xane knows that Dani has issues with his past as a bisexual and in turn is trying to suppress his attraction to other men. Then in walks Luther, the man that Xane can't forget about even three years after their one night together.

This book is extremely steamy and is bound to melt your panties. The characters are fabulously written, each with their own hangups. The dialogue flows well and feels natural. There is a bit a suspense involved in this book that will keep you hooked into the story as it unfolds.

The ending of this book was a bit of a cliffhanger, while still giving you enough to hold you over until the next book is released. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series.

Boom! Another amazing book from Madelynne Ellis. I love this series, it is so much darker than the usual rock star romance books whilst brimming with beautifully detailed and real characters, dirty moments and laughs.

The band are back on tour following the loss of Steve, tensions between the band members are still obvious but they are trying to get past their issues to complete their tribute to Steve. Dani and Xane's relationship is still going strong but someone from Xane's past threatens their continued happiness. Someone is trying to interfere with the band but will they succeed in splitting them up once again?

I loved reading more about all the characters that I've adored through this series. Xane continues to shine with his struggles and his love for Dani. The addition of Luthor to the story was an interesting twist as was the underlying mystery. I can't wait to read the next one.

I really loved this book. I loved how the author built the characters. Dani is so sweet and I loved how innocent she was. Xane is a force of nature. The love and attraction between them
Is so sweet. Then throw in Luthor and things get even steamier! The attraction between Luthor and Xane is HOT! Just the kissing was swoon worthy!
I really appreciated the author's depiction of all their struggles. The conflict with Xane realizing that while he loves Dani he still needs more. Her struggle to realize his needing a man to fill fulfilled doesn't mean he loves her less.

This is definitely not your traditional love story but it is a love story none the less.

My only issue was I had not read the first book and so I didn't know Dani's background. I wish the author had explained that a little more.

Um... I decided to read this book because of the cover and not really reading the blurb like I should have, this book was....um...different for me. Xane he wants to do anything to make sure his girl is happy, "babe, if you want to make wild in the hot tub, I'm not going to be the one to say no." He doubted he could say no to anything she suggested." He learns from his mistakes, "happy as he was walking around naked, Xane realised that nude cooking probably wasn't wise - it was asking for burns in intimate places - so he paused in the bunk room to pull on some shorts." I guess you can see this is a love triangle book it was an alright read for me it was different then what I'm used to reading.

This is an engaging erotic story that will keep you wanting more. I really really wish I had read the first story in this series, but it did not deter me from liking this story. I just know from reviews and reading that Xane and Dani were introduced then and I would have liked to have known that background. SO I recommend you read it before you read Come Together. Putting all that aside, this story was very HOT, it was engaging and well put together. Nothing felt rushed to me. You should know that there is some m/m action so if you find that objectionable, then I wouldn't pick this book for you. i'm looking forward to more books in this series with the rest of the band members!

This book pushed me a bit out of my reading comfort zone. I'm not used to the MM action and didn't go into it expecting it to be so raw. I didn't read the first book to be prepared for it either. I found myself unable to put it down, needing to know more. I felt immersed in that world along with the characters. I could imagine the histories, rendezvous, jealousies. Xane's conflict left me torn. I could see his love for Dani, but why was it so hard to stay faithful when it concerned Luther? Dani is a lot more understanding than I would've expected. I am still curious about what happens next. The secondary characters were interesting and unique, and real. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and recommend it. The love scenes are scorching!

Another steamy read.
After learning Xane's secret and holding back her fears and insecurities, they embark together on a world tour to remember their late drummer. On one bus loaded with rest of the band and some roadies privacy will be nil and hard to come by. Temptation will be everywhere and they will need to learn to trust in their love.
But danger starts to stalk them putting even more of a strain on their relationship all it will take is one more push for everything to come undone. Dani will need to take the final step in overcoming her insecurities and let go.....
Even through it is dirty read, it is well written and you can't help but want to see if these two find their HEA.
Looking forward to the final book.

Closer to 4-1/2 stars.

So wow, Dani's come a long way. For that matter, so has Xane. The author set up something seemingly impossible in this one, and I wasn't sure how it would play out. I think she did a fantastic job, and I loved how everyone really thought things through. There might have been knee-jerk reactions, but then there are in real life. It seemed logical. I'll be really interested to see where this goes, and I'm also really interested in the next Black Halo because hopefully we'll find out more about what happened with Ginny and Ash and, hopefully, watch them get back together.

Write faster, Ms. Ellis! ;-)

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. This is the second book in this series and I feel it was better than the first. Xane and Dani are trying to make things work but things keep getting in the way. Dani is trying to come to grips with Xane's lifestyle when an unexpected complication comes back into his life. There is a lot of sizzling chemistry in this book but also a lot of insecurities on all sides. This is an engrossing erotic tale that will keep you wanting more.

Clever double entendre title

I enjoyed this so much that I sidelined another book for it. Band, Black Halo, have reunited for a your in tribute to their late drummer. Lead singer, Xane, has taken his girlfriend along, but someone is determined to cause problems for them and the band. The unmasking of the troublemaker is not as deftly handled as the potential love triangle, but all-in-all, a successful story.

~~~~~
REVIEW: COME TOGETHER is the second installment in Madelynne Ellis’s contemporary, new adult ROCK HARD erotic romance series focusing on the goth rock group Black Halo. COME TOGETHER is the continuing story of front man and lead singer for Black Halo- Xane Geist and Dani Fosbrook. The Rock Hard series is the companion to Madelynne Ellie’s Black Halo series; COME TOGETHER runs parallel to ALL FIRED UP (Black Halo #2).
Because there are two companion series that play off one another, I would highly suggest reading in order as information revealed in the previous storylines is important for cohesion and enjoyment.
NOTE: There are scenes of M/F, M/M and M/M/F. COME TOGETHER is intended for mature readers over 18 years of age.
If you have not read the previous storylines in both series, there may be some spoilers -so be forewarned.
COME TOGETHER is the continuing story of Xane and Dani-six weeks after the events of Come Undone where Xane receives some heartbreaking news that all but destroys what remains of the band. A previous betrayal sent Xane on the run but with it comes the knowledge that life is fleeting and no one is safe when rabid fans attack. Black Halo is in need of a new drummer, and lead guitarist Ash Gore offers up Iain Willows-a man who has been bad mouthing Xane throughout his career. As the band comes to terms with the loss of their previous drummer, tensions are high when Iain proves to be less than competent with the drums.
The relationship between Xane and Dani continues to be sexually adventurous and uninhibited. Xane is a sex addict whose need for Dani begins to interfere with his work and the band. The storyline begins with a prologue that reveals a dark moment in time that Xane has kept secret but the past will soon catch up and will force Xane to make choices he doesn’t want to make. Dani’s fragile self esteem will take a major blow when she catches Xane in the arms of someone else. The sex scenes are graphic, sensually erotic and continuous. There is no doubt that Dani and Xane love one another but Xane will begin to question if Dani is enough.
The engaging and colorful supporting characters include all of the Black Halo band members whose lives begin to spiral out of control with the loss of a friend and lover. As the band sets out on their latest tour, Dani will be targeted and the band will fall victim to malicious gossip, rumors and innuendo. We will be introduced to the road crew and new roadie Luthor-whose past will come full circle and send Dani on the run.
The world building continues to follow Black Halo on tour; behind the scenes, in the bedroom, tour bus and on the road. The anxiety and stress of loss and betrayal begin to eat away at the band’s tentative rebuilding but in the end, they will come together when the band falls victim to deception, deceit and attack.
If you are a fan of sexy, angst ridden rock stars then Madelynne Ellis’s BLACK HALO and ROCK HARD series are for you. What we see on the surface and on stage is not necessarily what we would see behind the scenes and on the road. There are moments of heartbreak, betrayal, romance and love. Dani and Xane’s relationship will step up to the next level ensuring that Xane’s needs and desires are kept under control.
This story has simultaneous events with All Fired Up (Ash and Ginny's story).
There have been hints of trouble in paradise in that book and it's manifested here. Having read a lot of MMF romances, I understand the dynamics of bisexuality - Zane is that, and he's not ashamed to admit it.
I liked how the author wrote this story. Zane has been restless because Luthor was a blast from the past, and the prologue of 3 years ago really helped. He is still misunderstood but he came to grips with it, even Elspeth here has mellowed and he feels incomplete without another man's touch, inspite of Dani's love.
Dani has issues with her body; she has insecurities brought about by her upbringing and her ultimate fear has been realized. No one really set out to hurt her, the author clearly wrote that Zane really tried very hard at resisting Luthor but like I mentioned, he really was attracted to him, and he's offering freely.
Luthor is another matter, others might think of him as a home-wrecker but he knows his place and he can't help whom he desires. He genuinely cares for both Zane and Dani, the latter he became friends with throughout the tour, and he didn't pretend around her. There was a scene though that triggered Dani's reaction and no excuses, it's really Luthor's fault.
There are only a very few times I've written spoilers in my reviews and I'm going to write one here. There's one MMF scene that was pretty hot and because Dani loved Zane unconditionally, she allowed both men to kiss and grope one another in her presence, and surprisingly she got turned by it. This is progress since she has these preconceived notions that Zane would leave her for another man, just like what her father did to her mother. It's a Luthor-Zane-Dani scenario and hopefully we'll see more of them in the next books, which I can't wait for the release of by the way.
You rock Madelynne Ellis!
